5,500 crowns is $39.99 and 3,000 crowns is 24.99
In order to purchase the furnished version (which is not currently available for in-game gold) you would have to purchase 2 of the 5,500 crown packages and one of the 3,000 crown packages. That's about $105.00. For a pixel house. It's more than the game ever cost. And it leaves you with a whopping 200 crowns in change.
Now I know many of you will say, "Well I got the crowns via my sub....I got crowns on sale... etc." And in that case, good for you! But because these are the regular cost of crowns these are the actual cash values of these items. Over a hundred bucks. Keep that in mind.
So, to begin, here are all the reasons you should NOT buy the Daggerfall Overlook specifically.
1. Don't buy it because it's stupidly expensive. You could buy 2 or 3 NEW COMPLETE GAMES for the cost of this place, especially if you do it furnished.
2. Don't buy it because ZOS was lazy and put not one once of effort INTO THE HOUSE ITSELF. It is a tired copy/pasta of at least 3 other castles already in the game.
3. Don't buy it because you cannot access the upper balcony or the top of the curtain wall, depriving you of all the splendid views and useable space this place SHOULD have.
4. Don't buy it because the 24 player cap is ridiculous. ZOS should have very well known this cap is not in line with housing in virtually any other major game and SHOULD have known that players would be unhappy with this and should NOT have released housing until they figured out a solution to the "performance issues" that supposedly result at higher numbers of players.
5. Don't buy it because you cannot access at least TWO floors that the outside of the castle shows. In fact, the interior of the castle bears NO resemblance to the floorplan that should exist based upon the exterior view of the castle.
6. Don't buy it because there has not been a significant crown sale since this monstrosity came out. Half price is the only way this even BEGINS to make any sense.
7. Don't buy it because the only thought or care that was put into housing was put into developing a grind for the furniture that goes along with it. And doing it in such a way as to drive frustrated players into the cash shop.
8. Don't buy it because housing still has a host of bugs associated with it. DEMAND that these be fixed first.
9. Don't buy it because the outside grounds are the worst and most limited of all the houses with outdoor space. The trapdoor downstairs doesn't even take you to a sliver of beach but instead dumps your character into slaughterfish infested waters.
10. Don't buy it because by doing so all you will accomplish is to teach this company that they can put out a substandard product and charge you an outrageous price for it and you'll cave and let them get away with it. Wait for them to improve the value of this product or put out better houses in the future.
Now, the truth is that I don't think any amount of pixel coolness is worth over a hundred bucks. But with a GOOD crown sale and the following upgrades...I MIGHT consider it.
1. increase the grounds outside so that they are at least comparable to the grounds that surround the other 2 Notable Houses, both of which have far nicer grounds with more useable space.
2. Lower the walls/railings in the tower that totally obscure what would otherwise be magnificent views. Here, so you can see what I mean:

That tower is several stories tall, as you can see here:
![NbFWssL.png]()
So add AT LEAST one more room to it! And make that room ALSO open up so that there is a door that will put you on the WALL that is attached to the tower.
3. Do away with the slaughterfish pit. Here's what I mean:
Look, a nifty cellar door on the lowest floor of the castle! I'll bet it goes to an awesome dungeon space! Oh wait! It says "Overlook Shore!" PRIVATE BEACH! AWESOME!
NOPE.
![pimyotM.png]()
THIS is where you end up. Swim a very few feet away and you'll be killed by slaughterfish for good measure. And what's wrong with the position of those doors? It makes NO sense!
So, either give the place a nice cove with useable BEACH (and steps leading down to it from above so that door in the floor actually MAKES SENSE) OR actually give us another ROOM down there suitable for a dungeon since there's everything you could possibly need for a dungeon via the various "furniture" available.
4. Add fireplaces. Seriously, it's a whole castle with not a single fireplace??? It needs AT LEAST two.
5. make the interior make more sense with the EXTERIOR. Look at this:
![9Gb3tHA.png]()
WHY does the room that corresponds with that balcony in the center NOT EXIST? Give us that room. And make darn sure there's a door so we can walk out ON that balcony!
Why does the room that corresponds with that uppermost story NOT EXIST? Give us THAT room too.
6. Commit to doing something about the player cap. This castle should hold AT LEAST 100 players! 24 is just ludicrous.
7. Make a room that is actually a bathouse.
8. Make a separate room to serve as a kitchen.
While there are several things that would improve housing, like letting us build actual walls inside so we could make our own unique floorplans and letting us change the colors of furniture, the above are things you can do RIGHT NOW (with the possible exception of #6) that would VASTLY improve this particular property and make it START to justify its pricetag. Please do so.
@ZOS_GinaBruno ???? Any possibility of this???
