Why no earrings?

So the wife and I were having a discussion last night about our upcoming Necro characters and we were suddenly hit with the realization that our ESO avatars don't have any earrings. Now we've only been here since beta, so we're obviously slow on the uptake, and it occurred to me that I don't recall seeing any discussion on the topic. Has ZOS talked about adding earring slots in the past or would they consider doing so?
