Greetings, friends! I wonder why the races of Tamriel are so distrustful and unfair in their thoughts of the Dunmer people. Generally. Since I've always been a Dunmer in TES universe I understand why do we treat distrustfully other Tamrielic races. But I do not understand why do they do the same to us. How do you think?
Here it is how I see it:
So the history shows we were absolutely right to refuse to worship those Eight Apostasies and leave the rest of our kin by following the lead of Saint Veloth because all the evils listed above appeared irrespectively of the Veloth's decision (well, ok, except the only evil of Dagoth Ur). Who else has ever saved Tamriel so many times if not the Dunmer? And what favor and gratitude do we have in return? Those recent Daggerfall Covenant and the Aldmeri Dominion invasions we have faced during the ESO PvE Pact campaign - how dare they are to fight us invading our lands and confronting us in Cyrodiil? They and all their descendants are in an irredeemable life debt to us! Twice at least.
The Covenant fights to capture the Ruby Throne in order to restore the Second Empire - one of the Evils we've once defeated.
The Dominion seeks the way to reestablish Elven dominance over Tamriel - another Evil we still have to defeat.
So I urge you to give up fighting for the Dominion or the Covenant and join the ranks of the Ebonheart Pact for we fight only to protect our borders and freedom. Keep to the Tribunal. Victory for the Three!
Here it is how I see it:
- We have never waged a full scale conquest directed towards anyone but suffered the most severe casualties before stopping all the true Evil Tamriel has ever faced.
- We were the ones to defeat the Nedes in the last known offensive war they waged, stopping their brutal expansion and weakening them. After it they were mostly on their defenses finally taking their last fatal blow from the Yokudans under Tarish-Zi who slaughtered the Nedes almost entirely.
- Almost the same way we were the ones to stop the Nords from invading any foreign land again after defeating them around 1E 700. As we see it the human races caused almost total eradication of at least two folks. We made them give up that policy forever.
- We were the ones to save Tamriel from the Dwemer threat. But first we were the ones at least to encounter it. We all remember what Azura said about their Numidium project and we all remember what had they done to the Falmer race before it. I don't remember Azura has ever been wrong.
- We were the only ones to actively confront and passively destroy the Second Empire resulting in the liberation of all the races that were conquered by the Reman Dynasty. Firstly, by exhausting and disbalancing the Remans on the battlefield. And secondly, by assasinating those Akaviri snake s'wits who overthrew the Remans after it, thus ending the history of that warlike state.
- Dagoth Ur. The greatest threat Nirn has ever faced. You remember his plans after the Tribunal's fall? Blight storms, ash vampires, hordes of monsters all over Tamriel and the fully operational Akulakhan - the machine of an unstoppable conquest. Nerevar kills Dagoth Ur (as Dagoth Ur witnesses himself twice) but Dagoth Ur survives. Imagine the Tribunal is loyal to the oath and does nothing. Nerevar dies, the Tribunal dies, the Chimer do not become the Dunmer, Azura has no reason to prophesy the return of her Champion, Dagoth Ur wakes up. After murdering or turning everybody into his ash monsters he starts a deathmatch with Mehrunes Dagon, entire Oblivion, Alduin, another Akaviri invasion - whatever. Whoever wins - all the people of Tamriel loose. I doubt anyone wants to exist in such a monstrous world. Still there's no weapon to slay him, nobody to get to him close enough to stop him because no one has a certain plan to defeat him, there's no one to know where to find the Tools of Kagrenac, how to use them correctly, no one left to build the Ghostfence, no Nerevarine Cult, no Nerevarine. So the Tribunes were absolutely right to murder Nerevar and to use the Tools, starting the chain of circumstances leading to the only possible way to destroy the Sharmat and save Tamriel.
