[Class Rep] Templar Feedback Thread

The purpose of this thread is to give you a place to post your current top two pain points with the Templar. Our new Class Representatives will be keeping a close eye on this thread, and will utilize it to gather additional feedback for the notes they’re currently compiling for their first meeting with the Dev Team next week. Please be sure and keep your post clear and succinct, and focus more on what is currently frustrating you rather than potential solutions. Thanks!

Lack of Dev Vision Statement or Communication leads to community unrest.

ESO suffers GREATLY from a lack of clear communication from the DEV's. A yearly vision statement with quarterly updates is needed spelling out the state of the game, how they view balance and where they are headed.

The issue of balance really needs to be addressed. A community has to know what is the standard that the Dev Team looks to for balance. With no clear communication as to what it is, everyone in the community then thinks their idea is what the standard is, these many be so many different ones that no one can agree if things are right. This has led us to what appears to be the squeaky wheeler nerfs as no one can make sense to them how things are justified on changes. The quarterly updates can let us know if you think you are on track or if you think that you have to adjust your standard to establish a new baseline from learned experiences.

Please stop having us feel like we are being treated like mushrooms, kept in the dark and fed natural fertilizer. (avoiding censor) This has what you have made your community to feel about you. It is confused and neglected. Your forum should be the base of all communications, twitch, tweets, FB and all are secondary as not all can or do those. The forum is run on your server the others are hosted by 3rd parties so it is logical to look to your site for the base information. Want to use a video for the statements, fine but put a direct link on the forum to it so

Hmm im kinda confused on one part
I beat the main story but i still got lots of zones left to do should i do those first and then do the other factions aka cadwells? Or should i just skip it and go straight to cadwells quests?
And what does cadwell silver and gold do anyway?
The reason im doing this cause i want more skill points and need mage books still havrnt got 10 yet

I want to buy the the summerset expansion now that it's on sale but it required me home adress and other irelvant stuff. Why do i need to fill these in for a digital upgrade activated by code?

Who thinks the nerfs to sorcs is long overdue?

Maybe I am biased and bitter because I am a Magplar since the start. In my house of nerf for years now.

They claim "it hurts if you come into our house" but don't buff anything that actually does that...instead they nerf or take away any buffs/skills that actually help us stay in our "house"....

This has been going on for years now with no end in sight....

I mean really I am struggling to see what else is left to nerf or take away, they have hit every corner...cc/mobility/survivability/sustain/utility/support/damage/heals/buffs/debuffs....there is nothing left...

TTMP - The Tamriel Mapping Project
A simple AddOn that allows tracking of material nodes, chests, quests, lorebooks, treasure maps and much more!

- Most assets (wood/ore/cloth nodes, runes, chests etc) are added automatically to the map as they are interacted with.
- Custom map filters allow you to choose what assets are displayed on your map.
- You can choose between two icon sets and assign custom colors to each icon type.
- Can import HarvestMap data.
- Supports the English, German, French and Russian version of the game (Although the interface and chat commands are still in English).

UPDATE:
Updated to API Version 100024
Added support for new "ore" types used for Jewelry Crafting
Added "Giant Clam" to the tracked assets and map filters
Added option to delete assets by right-clicking on them

KNOWN ISSUES:
Ever since ZOS re-scaled the Auridon map a lot of nodes exist multiple times.
I cleaned up most of the map by now but there may still be some duplicates.

IMPORTANT - ACHTUNG - ATTENTION - WICHTIG
If you already have TTMP installed, do *NOT* overwrite your "SavedVariables" file with a newer version!
DON'T DO IT! There really is no reason to ever replace the "SavedVariables/TamrielMapping.lua" file directly.
You will lose everything you have ever mapped yourself!

Only touch the "SavedVariables/TamrielMapping.lua" file if:

- This is your first install of TTMP and you want to start with my latest asset file instead of creating your own (empty) file.
See "Using my latest Asset file" for instructions on how to use my latest "SavedVariables" file, which already has over 40,000 tracked assets.

- You already have TTMP and you want to merge my latest asset file with yours. If so, follow the TTMPMerge instructions!

Is the #SummerFall requirements based on account or character? My main achievement hunter toon already has Summerset Savior, or whatever. So do I need to do this again on another toon? Or, is my progress already counted toward the goals? @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

Make a Minor Toughness gear option for trials groups

So, ZoS wants to take away Minor Toughness from Warhorn and give Wardens exclusive rights to it because Wardens are basically useless in trials otherwise. Okay, remember when Templars had exclusive ownership of Minor Breach and Sunderflame was later changed to give groups without DPS Templars the option to have it? Forcing Wardens into trials groups is complete over-reach without some gear alternative to fill the gap.

Yes, there's Warrior-Poet, but it is a selfish set. I'm talking about real tank sets.

Let's take a terrible tanking set and revamp it: the Aegis of Galenwe set. The 5 piece bonus currently confers Empower to a few players in melee range -- basically its a useless bonus and no one uses it. Let's change it to give Minor Toughness to all players in 25 meters instead. This gives tanks a set to use for group defense support, rather than another set to ineffectively buff group DPS.

Forcing Warden into trials groups is complete overreach and against the concept of letting groups be adaptable to different group builds. We need a gear alternative option. Or, you know, stop messing with perfectly fine abilities like Warhorn.

Magplar PvP

So I'm still pretty new to magicka classes in PvP (old stam DK main) and I need some advice. I can get some kills but I'm WAY too squishy.

I'm currently running:
2 Skoria (heavy)
5 Spinners (chest, legs. boots, Nirnhoned inferno staff)
5 Wizard's Riposte (belt, gloves, jewelry)
2 Song of Lamae (sword and shield on back bar).

Anyone have any advice for a newbie Magplar?

Can we get rid of the addon error dialogs?

OK, so addons sometimes have problems indexing null values...
Here is my point. One, the information the dialog provides is useless to the users and often of little help to the addon programmer.
Two, the addon often works just fine except for the error dialog that is in your face.
NONE of the players I know care about the error but do care that the dialog can pop up in a boss fight and initiate a wipe.
Am I alone in thinking that these error dialogs are 99.99% useless and harmful?

Bruma Flag Labels Incorrect

I noticed this in Vivec NA.

The flag by the town merchant is called "Outlier Flag", whereas the flag between the two walls is called "Merchant Flag".

I believe these flag labels should be swapped. (Small mistake, I know, but it bugs me when giving call-outs)

Please. For everyone, really, but especially for Sorc.

I am of the opinion that when ZOS makes huge sweeping changes like in Murkmire, everyone should get one free class change and more should be sold in the Crown Store.

The 4.2.0 Patch Notes genuinely disgust me.

Tamriel Hero blocked - Death to the Crone quest (Vlastarus)

As others have pointed out, since the last patch the quest "Death to the Crone" is broken, thus preventing players from completing the Cyrodiil Champion achievement.
This is my very last quest to complete Tamriel Hero, hence the frustration.

The problem lies in that the quest step "Kill Barasatii" doesn't update.
Like others, I've defeated her plenty of times ; tried abandoning and retaking the quest ; logging off and back on - but the quest is broken.
Could we please have this patched in the next maintenance cycle?

What do you think of adding a one minute timer to re-spawning at a keep?

I feel like when groups fight between keeps, it ends up being a never ending battle, until one faction brings 3-4 times the numbers of the enemy. This is mainly because when one faction (faction A) pushes to an enemy keep (faction B), faction A can't put down siege because faction B overwhelms them, not because they just simply beat them in a fight, but because no matter how many times you kill an enemy, they are right back in the fight 5 seconds later, making death meaningless.
