FOUNDING LORE
The Order of the Grim Raven was founded out of necessity, when an unnamed village now lost to war, famine, and banditry fell under attack. The Ravens were not an organization at the time but rather the only available personnel that were capable of forming the militia for the village. This original militia consisted of an Orsimer, a Breton spellsword, and an over the hill knight with his less than talented squire. They didn't succeed in saving the village but they did succeed in buying enough time for the inhabitants of the village to escape through a hidden path in the woods. Out of the four only the Breton would survive and barely clinging to the thread of his life at that. From that moment forward the Breton decided to go into business if you will by founding his own knightly order, setting up in the long abandoned Castle Raven.

Imperial Charter of the Grim Ravens
(Portions with an Asterisk apply OOC as well)
I. Purpose
To provide a place of refuge, training, and structure for wandering Knights and Squires. To provide a path to recognized Knighthood for the common peoples of Cyrodiil. To provide arms and shields in the service of those who seek them.
II. Authority
The guild being founded in 2E 570 by Sir Matthias Lencolia, being recognized by the "Guilds Act" of Potentate Versidue-Shaie.
III. Rules & Procedures
No member within proper standing within the order shall commit any act to be view as heinous or treasonous. (*)No member within or without proper standing within the order shall harass, insult, or otherwise provoke another member with intent of grievous offense(*). No member within proper standing within the order shall steal (from living or dead, on or off the battlefield,), unless such theft is in due for survival.
ADDENDUM:(*) In the event that the OOC rule has been broken whether IC (without consent) or OOC the member is then to be immediately expelled from the order. The Guild-Master holds absolute reservation of authority over expulsions and demotions of any guild member. However, if the member wishes to appeal the decision of the Guild-Master he is in right to do so, in the event that the member receives a two-thirds vote from guild leadership the Guild-Master's decision will be overturned. Proper due process and investigation into claims will be sought out regardless of wrong doings or rules broken.
ADDENDUM: (Standard Ranks) To achieve the rank of Acolyte one must join the order, to achieve the rank of Squire one must be given their IC base tour and introduction, to achieve the rank of Squire-at-Arms one must contribute with measurable distance to the guild, to achieve the rank of Sergeant one must show activity within the guild and continue it's success, to achieve the rank of Knight one must under go the Grim Oath as well as be level 50.
ADDENDUM: (Officer Ranks) To achieve the rank of Knight-Captain one must show competence at their class and success in either difficult dungeons or PVP, to achieve the rank of Knight-Major one must show the above average competence at their class and have at least one crafting tree available to them either on their main character or alternate. To Achieve the rank of Knight-Commander one must be an expert at their class and be appointed by the Guildmaster.
ADDENDUM: No member whether past, present, nor future may bypass the rank of Knight upon admittance. A person may be granted the rank of Knight upon admittance but such action may only be approved by the Guild-Master or two Knight-Commanders.
ADDENDUM: Effective as of now, an acolyte who undergoes their initial initiation and fortress tour shall be promoted to the rank of squire
IV. Membership Requirements
A Knight, Squire, or Commoner seeking admittance must posess a willingness to assist the order in its needs and to assist it's members. Beyond this there is no requirement beyond a willingness to help out, learn, and contribute.
V. Applications for Membership
Any person who wishes admittance may do so, they must contact either the Guild-Master or any Knight of the Grim Raven.
