Engine Guardian, only magicka?

I see some of these sorcs around in Cyrodiil. Using Engine Guardian. High uptime, yes - we've heard that before. But I chased one around today, a typical show-off bunny hopping brat who didn't do much else but streak and bunny hop to show how good he was; but this guy had only magicka from that dwemer, nothing else. And it was up aaaall the time. We speak like 98% of the time, or how to put it. As soon as it went away, it spawned anew, and only gave him magicka. Frankly 100% if you include the parts where it construct/deconstruct itself.
When I started bashing the poor robot because I grew tired, he seemed to panic and actually started attacking me. I kept doing it for a lil' while and wore him by down by CC and finally killed him. But it feels fishy. How do you do that? Sure there might be some specific skill that procs it a lot - I can buy that - but only magicka? I mean 100%, not a single time was the ray green or red. Only blue. I don't think this is the first time I've seen it either. Same streaking kind of sorcerer, but another player.

I Was Stuck in My Werewolf Hot Bar - but Not Transformed [And How to Fix It!]

Tonight I had a bit of a bug where I was stuck in my werewolf weapons bar. I was in a delve in Auridon, just getting sky shards and minding my own business, when I transformed into my werewolf form to fight the delve boss, cause I like to use my transformation. When after the fight, I was cleaning up some ads that I dropped out of my form midway through the timer bar.

I still had my werewolf bar up, but I could no longer use the skills on it. I could not weapon swap, either. But, I maintained the damage increase that werewolves get, and could hold 42k dps with just light attacks. (Bloodmoon/Relequen)

I could eat, I could fast travel, I could move around, I could use momentoes, I could interact with doors and loot. But I just couldn't weapon swap or use skills.

I tried reloadui, didn't work. I tried dying to NPCs, didn't work, I tried dying to players, and that still didn't work.

I tried relogging and shutting down the entire client. And that still didn't work.

However, I noticed that even though I could not weapon swap or use skills, I was still building ultimate. So I transformed back into a werewolf and just sat there and let the timer run out naturally. Lo and behold, this fixed the problem! So if you're stuck out of werewolf with this bug, the fix is transforming again and letting it run out naturally.

I hope this helps someone. Cause I was pretty worried I'd have to contact ZoS and file a ticket and wait like three weeks to get this fixed.

Good PVP'ers vs. Bad PVP'ers

I've noticed something that has been a plague on PVP games in the last 15 years that I've been playing them that I think is utterly hysterical, as follows:

Many of the players of today that believe they are great PVP'ers do not actually fight the best opponents in open world PVP. This is common in not just ESO, but in games like WoW, EVE Online, Aion, etc. Essentially, what occurs, is a similar form of what we used to use clans / guilds for back in the day. I'll use a comparison of my 1st experience in a PVP game, with Lineage2 vs. my current experience in MMO's through the lens of ESO.

Lineage 2 - 15 Years ago.

In this game, gear grinding was insane, to have a B grade weapon (weapons scaled to S) you basically had to have been playing for almost 2+ years, at level 55+ grinding out 10% XP in a day required about a 12 hour investment, when you got to level 65+ it was basically 12 hours to make around 5%.

The penalty of death was 2-3% XP, and if you died in PVP and it wasn't a clan war and you were near level cap you were basically losing the last 12 hours of your XP grinding every time you died. Also, if you ganked someone who didn't want to fight, you received Karma which needed to be worked off slaying monsters, your name was red and you had a significant risk of dropping your gear if someone killed you while you had karma. Dropping something like a weapon would set you back at least a year.

This is what guilds were built and predicated on. You wanted to maximize individual gain and minimize losses by surrounding yourself with quality players and working as a team to accomplish very difficult goals. This encouraged teamwork between the best players, setting aside of ego, and created a natural hierarchy in the game in which the best players formed an alliance, managed the castles they won, and made it possible for the people who were playing in the zones they owned the castles of an opportunity to make significant in game currency (very rare) if the alliance managed the seeding process properly.

The best players were also the best PVP'ers. You needed to defend your grinding area's (TOI - Tower of *** I forgot the name) grinding angels was a hotly contested spot, and many times when we were at war with another clan we would fight over the opportunity to grind experience in these area's for hours on end. The best players were constantly fighting the best players for the best grinding spots.

ESO - Current Day

In this game, gear grinding is very easy. Some of the best gear is easily crafted and the stat bonuses from gold jewelry / gear is very minimal, you can be a very competent player in epic purple attire. Grinding XP is so easy that we have over 810 champion point levels. You can play casually and still be very competitive.

The penalty for death is almost totally non-existent. You don't need to repair your gear, the only thing you suffer is a respawn and having to run back to the fight. You will never lose something you worked for.

Guilds are now built and predicated on their ability to do specific things well (Trials) or are primarily social gathering places, with no hierarchy of who the best players are, and very little reason to set aside ego or differences to accomplish a greater goal, because no greater goal actually exists. I should note, this isn't the case for trading guilds, the last bastion of what a real guild should be based on, which many players in the forums want to ruin because they don't like the idea of paying dues. Old players have no incentive to teach new players how to learn how to play, because overall difficulty isn't that hard, finding enough players to do the content is fairly easy, even if you have drama with 90% of your server. Only the highest level achievements in the game now require teamwork.

The best PVE'ers and best PVP'ers are separated for the most part, though more often than not you find that the best PVP'ers are also very good at PVE as they have a serious working knowledge of the class and its limitations/best skills/best stat / gear allocation, etc. But, these so called PVP'ers that we find in ESO, don't actually fight each other, more often than not. Many of them have multiple characters across multiple factions, and rather than put themselves into a guild where they would need to control their ego, they separate into dueling circles or small guilds that don't fight each other in open world, and most have no idea how to play as a team.

They talk on the forums like they want "serious PVP" - they groan for balance - they complain about lack of challenge - yet they purposely limit the challenges to themselves as players (other good players) by boosting their ego ganking scrubs while totally ignoring the players who give them a challenge in Cyro.

i.e.

Majority of people on the forums are fake. I think this reflects our society today as well. Most of the people talking to you are liars today, with no interest in challenging themselves, constantly seeking the easy way out, massaging their ego's, and running from or refusing to challenge themselves due to a fear of having their ego crushed. They have no idea how to take their "L"'s and instead will focus on how a class is op, it was a 1vX, a mob hit them once, etc.

I know this comes off as a "Back in my day" and it's true, games are way more accessible today than they used to be because of a lot of the things mentioned above, and that's a good thing, but I'll say this -

If you think you're good at PvP but all you do is run around Cyro 1vX'ing scrubs and fighting the occasional duel against good players, while your group avoids fighting those good players because they are your "friends" - you're not good. Gone are the days when guilds had purpose, men and women set aside ego's to accomplish complete server domination for their guild, and good players treated each other with respect on virtual battlefields.

Enjoy the rest of your day you tea bagging clowns :)

Since I just moved here from Kyne where our forum thread was always an entertaining read, I was pretty disapointed not to find similar thread for this campaign, just a couple of disjointed QQs. And so im starting one :)
This is to be a big cross-alliance chat, full of salt, drama and unlikely friendships!

And so, I'll start with few observations, from a point of expereinced PvPer, but newcomer in SS, EP side.
Current population during active hours seem to be into EP's favour, which is a bit unfortunate for a guy joining, since its always more fun to play underpopulated faction. Still I like that other 2 factions are active enough to not let EP dominate but instead keep pushing back and keep PvP going!

Campaign seems a bit worse in regards to nightcapping. What amazes me tho, is that it seem to be going on on all 3 alliances roughly in the same amount. EP capping few days at the end of evening, others later at night and in the morning.. Altough I'll never understand ppl taking scrolls from NPCs at 4am, i must say: if it doesnt kill the PvP enjoyment at primetime, go slaughter those NPCs! Show them who's best! :P

And finally, since im moving here along with a guild, Im interested to find out names and activity of other guilds playing in SS :) Ive met some EP ones alrdy but im interested in knowing what DC and AD groups we will be fighting.. so far we have seen a couple of good ones, and we are very much looking forward to wiping you after we settle in! :D

Suggestion: Crystal Frost Skin should change also facial hairs/basic hairstyles

As in title,

The reason for it is it looks pretty much weird to me we get changed everything except hair, I have chosen to ask only about the basic hair styles on character creation screen due to possibility of 2 much work if we would include it for all hair styles in game. Facial hairs also should be possible to be changed to ice, same for horns in case of argonians.

Is nightblade really better then Sorcerer?

So I've posted poems and stories here.. but, uh.. never art. Thought this one was good enough to post here??
I'll just quote the original post's description:
'Khajiit I designed yesterday listening to some song about revenge. Might end up being the (main) girlfriend of one of my newest ESO characters.. the vampire who's so flirty, he may as well be a succubus. He's also one of the only make characters I have in that game. xD
Based on a Kamikaze, or a suicide bomber. Cause it sounded good as a Khajiit name and she likes the thrill of being in danger, also brushing with death excites her.
Dunno..'

So she's not a character in the game, but! it was a chance to practice Khajiit anatomy. Please bear in mind I'm not the best artist, but I tried taking a traditional sketch, taking a picture of it, then coloring over it. I can't 'scan' things..

*braces self for comments about her crude style*

also I don't know what the markings on her face and such are. I just colored randomly..

Workaround for stuck in combat!

Disclosure: this is very, very stupid. We should not have to do this. But it seems to work.

Kill yourself. I'm serious.

I've taken to carrying damage health potions. If I'm stuck in combat in PvP, I climb a keep, jump off, and chug the pot on impact. There's very little opportunity for a random passerby to kill you, you can respawn at any unflagged keep (skipping transitus entirely), as you are still in combat so it reads a bloodport.

EDIT: It sometimes, but not always, clears the "in-combat status, but even if that status persists you can bloodport to wherever you need to be.

Nords and the upcoming racial passive overhaul

Seeing how the new racial passive update will be hitting soon next year I was wondering what changes you guys would like to see done with the Nords. I love the race, but they are pretty lackluster when it comes to passive power compared to many of the other races. ZOS talked about changing the racial passives to be more in-line with one another but also retain the flavor of the race.

If they decide to go down branching routes or include both stamina and magicka passives I really hope they do something regarding frost magic. Maybe increase spell damage for frost magic abilities or something of that nature. What would you guys like to see done with Nords?

There needs to be a better cp system for new or returning players.

$

Please keep in mind i've been playing since the release of the game, and i'm still 267cp, unlike many i don't have 8-10 hours a day to fully invest into the game. I've done it all in best attempt to get cp up, dailies on all characters, skyreach and so fourth, even though i have 2 alts. i'm not a low attention spanner alter, i like to stick to one character mostly even though eso is the first game that actually reward you for making alts. (i bet it has nothing to do with the crown store eh ? )

Back to champion points, so after new life festival, i had 100%, on top of that 150% scroll, plus Enlightenment. I was getting roughly 6-7k per mob in Skyreach, and don't get me wrong that's really good, but it it totally not worth spending 4-5 weeks to get max cp, there needs to be a better system for returning or new players.

Please give players below 800 constant enlightenment , this would make it doable especially for pvp players that need that max cp to play at all (unless they want to seperate from all friends and family to play non cp, great system there ZOS).

On top of that give crown store scrolls more xp when using them in group dungeons while you're below 810 or whatever the max cp is at the time.

You know its a fact that you lose thousands of subs on returning players who got greatly discouraged by the cp grind and left, i bet all these max cp will be butthurt over asking for better terms.

Here's why you shouldn't, firstly cp wasn't as important when it first came out since many was low cp still, today almost everyone in pvp is 810 or more, so the circumstances are completely different for new or returning players.

Premade groups are ruining battlegrounds...

$
0
0
... do they? I think so. It's no fun to deal with one or even two premade groups in battlegrounds.

Why is there no option to prevent this? 1 and 2 players should count as "single" and 3 and 4 player groups should count as group and be treated as such when it comes to matchmaking.

And no, it is no solution to counter premade groups with the argument "go look for a group yourself".
