This shouldn't be allowed, and should be banned, at this point you're making the game pay to win by allowing this. If you can't clear it without having to pay money then you don't need the gear.

End the tyranny of Eastmarch! [Annual request to fix the map]

It's been almost five years and the provience of Skyrim is still enroaching upon Morrowind territory.
wvJMZFR.png
Here are the two maps separately for better visibility:
0c6SaNe.jpg
8khiK0h.jpg
This is the Anthology map (the latest and last official Bethesda-sanctioned map, released in 2013 as part of the physical Anthology collection) laid over ESO's in-game map.
For the most part ESO actually adheres to the Anthology map pretty decently, there are some deviation here and there but you generally did a pretty good job. Except for Morrowind and Skyrim.

For some reason Skyrim is shifted almost all the way to the east which resulted in Morrowind also getting moved to the east, elongating Skyrim, misaligning Vvardenfell and the upper right arm of the province (this area is Telvanni territory btw). The most egregious problem here though is that Skyrim is completely pushed onto the left arm of Morrowind, severly distorting the shape of Morrowind, completely erasing Blacklight ( the long standing central city-state of the Great Redoran House and future capital of Morrowind), and the Dunmeri Pass, an ancient and important travel and trade route between Skyrim (more precisely Windhelm) and Morrowind (was also used by Tiber Septim to invade and conquer Morrowind at the end of the 2nd era).

And before someone asks "Does Blacklight even exist yet?", yes, it does. Here's a quote from an ESO live stream from 2015:
Gina: I bet! Man, I bet chat’s just going crazy right now, “my god, he said all these things!” We’ve had a couple of questions from the forums and I wanted to ask one in particular. Sorry, I didn’t write the name down. Prior to the Third Era 414 and Imperial reorganisation, Vvardenfell was Temple-governed (persevere) as established by the treaty of the armistice in 2E 896. So, question is, what is Vvardenfell’s current status - political as well as demographic and infrastructure wise - are there any chances of seeing for ourselves? (With a little winky face).

Lawrence: So, tl:dr: What’s going on in Vvardenfell? So I can give you the current situation there in general outlines without having to go into character or anything. Vvardenfell... Much of it is still - I wouldn’t say wasteland - but the central part of Vvardenfell is largely inhabited by nomadic Ashlander tribes, the east coast of Vvardenfell, along the inner sea, facing the Telvanni Peninsular - there are various places there that are of value to the Telvanni Mage Lords so they have more or less claimed the eastern coast of Vvardenfell. Then there is the upper north-west portion, that faces Blacklight across the sea there, and where there are exploitable resources and things there, that’s pretty much administered by the Great House Dunmer from Blacklight.

But Vvardenfell in the Second Era, during the time of Elder Scrolls Online, is lightly peopled and we do hope eventually to go there, because that was so much fun in Morrowind, but it’s not currently on the slate of anything that we are working on. I hope that adequately answered the question.

While Lawrence was mainly talking about Vvardnefell here he definitely confirmed that Blacklight exist and that it's the seat of government for the dunmer who are colonizing the upper north-west portion of Vvardenfell, also known as West Gash. West Gash's major city is Gnisis, a traditional Redoran city. Therefore obviously Blacklight is a Redoran city as well, which makes perfect sense as Redoran is the traditional warrior house, so they would obviously be situated on the border of Morrowind, defending it from a potential norse incursion. Not like that needed to be proved.

So, after all this lead up let's see, what is exactly the problem here:

dXJKIPs.jpg?1
(The region map of Eastmarch and The Rift overlaid on the Anthology and in-game world map)

- So as I said, Skyrim is just simply too far to the east. Windhelm is almost directly south from Winterhold (the northernmost city of Tamriel, once the capital of Skyrim, supposedly built by the legendary Arch-Mage Shalidor) and should be where it's at on the left side of the picture.
- Skuldafn takes up an obscene amount of space and potentially should be relocated slightly so it's less of an eyesore.
- It's hard to see but the way Eastmarch is currently placed on the world map actually ruins the connection between The Rift and Eastmarch. Both the waterfalls near Fort Amol/Ivarstead and Boulderfall Pass are misaligned.
- Bleakrock itself is misplaced as well. According to a loading tip "Bleakrock is an island off the northeast coast of Skyrim between Windhelm and Solstheim". But that's completely untrue right now, it's between Skulldafn and Solstheim, or Vvardenfell and Solstheim, nowhere near Windhelm. Also, being as completely frozen over as it is Bleakrock is just too close to the volcanic Vvardenfell, not even the southern side of Solstheim is this frigid. Even without taking the misplaced Windhelm into account the current placement makes no sense and should be relocated. As it happens, on the TESV Skyrim map there's a perfectly sized and situated unnamed island, just waiting to be called Bleakrock.
R1kKRcx.png

And finally, while I'm here, here are some additional pain points about the world map:
- The lack of Niben river on the world map. Niben river is an iconic and extremely important waterway (leading to the heart of Cyrodiil) and without it the map just doesn't look right, just feels off. It really should be added.
- Stormhold (Shadowfen) is too far to the north. Stormhold is a traditional Black Marsh city but when you overlay the Anthology map with the in-game you will notice that in ESO it's well within traditional Dunmer borders. Furthermore, the correct location would be where the Hatching Pools are. It probably would be too big of a task to fix this problem on the map itself considering all the quests that take place in Stormhold and all the voice lines that refer to it so my recommended solution would be to solve it with Lore. An example and suggestion: maybe Stormhold is more of a name than an actual city, it follows the border and it's always the northernmost city that gets called Stormhold. The wandering city of Black Marsh.
R5EOIFI.png
- Craglorn empty space. When you unlock all the wayshrines in Craglorn it's extremely noticeable that the wayshrines are awkwardly cramped together and there's a huge strip of unused land on the bottom side. This blank space is extra weird as Craglorn contains a gate that leads directly to Bangkorai and you can see the other side of it there. However due to the cramped wayshrines it appears that on the world map the two sides of the gate are miles away from each other.
OGSsmwH.png?1
- Vvardenfell's southern coast is too far from Stonefalls on the world map.

Bonus: an alternative way to align the Anthology and in-game maps:
SbudheG.png

In this one the coastline of Elsweyr, Black Marsh, Valenwood, Cyrodiil and Skyrim align up better, Morrowind is still pretty awful and Sumerset, Hammerfell and High Rock are pretty much worse.

ZOS! What happens to MagNB?

$

A little bit about me: I play MagNB for a very long time, almost 3000 hours, I created many builds for it, became emperor, participated in tournaments, etc. And I noticed that in addition to the fans of the class, nobody plays on it.

But now I have come to the conclusion that this is the weakest class in pvp, and now I will tell you why:

1) Vitality - the class does not have its own protection, it is tied to the presence of resto \ light armor. Passive healing is too weak to repel other classes if you are found.

He lacks an increase in healing from existing abilities and a new healing (for example, Morph Debilitate - absorbs the healing of an adversary and transfers it to you, like Eclipse)

2) Burst damage - MagNB has a burst 3 (!!!) times less than magsorc. Killing someone quickly without "Caluurion Legacy" is very difficult, except for Merciless Resolve, there is no burst! But it’s very easy to dodge an arrow and it accumulates for a long time.

Why is MagNB no other burst abilities?

Why is it not possible to get "Major Sorcery" out of combat?

3) Individual style - MagNB doesn’t have it; if you look at duel tournaments, you’ll see that he plays like sorc .... sorc without damage. It is even called "Half-Sorc".
In all respects, Sorc is superior to MagNB and many excellent PVP fighters have gone to Sorc and Templars.

4) Positioning - MagNB can not fight at a distance, because there is no long-range control and ult, but also cannot fight close up, because no survivability and easy to detect.

5) DK Wings - absolutely all MagNB long-range attacks - are projectiles (Impale, Merciless Resolve, Swallow Soul, Crippling Grasp), and DK reflects all of them, playing against them is almost impossible.
Maybe it is worth making some of them - not projectiles?

I understand that you are not interested in a class for which few fighters play .... but we exist. Hear? We exist!

Racial passives are the complete wrong way to go about this.

$

Take a look around this forum with everyone arguing about which race should get which passives. People are basing their race choices on the passives available. No one is completely happy with the passives for any given race. As others have said, race should be a completely cosmetic choice...that way people can play the race they actually want to play. Sure, this might lead to a reduction in the "beast races"(or maybe not) but in reality...those races are rather rare outside of their zones anyway, so this would reflect the in-game reality rather well. People should just be able to choose whatever "character passives" they want(allow them choose whatever 3 they want), because regardless of what generalizations in expertise a given race has, there are always outliers...and as your character is a hero in the game...they are already an outlier. I for one am tired of trying to make my characters look halfway decent because the base race is one I am choosing strictly for their passives and would otherwise never play...it really makes no sense whatsoever that people are playing races they dont like just to get some passive or another...and then its even worse because the BIS DPS, tank, or healer is locked behind an alliance you may not have access to without buying the any race any alliance pack(not that I care about BIS anything myself, but many do) The whole system is completely stupid and no on is playing the game like they want because of it. The same holds true for class...class should be determined by 3 basic skill lines you pick....not picking a class because you like one particular skill line and hate the rest.

Hey guys

The representatives are now busy with creating the different class discord servers. I already mentioned in the rep thread, which class discords are already open.

I opened up the discord server for templars now. As already told in the other threads, we intend to gather consolidated and good quality feedback from you guys. There are different channels on each discord for every spec of one class. So please feel free to join those discords and raise your voice. We intend to make a list about all concerns and problems regarding the classes with the feedback, which comes from YOU.

We aim for a collection of un-biased and good quality feedbacks, which we can present as the voice of the community to the devs. So feel free to invite your freinds to thoe discords too, se we can get every voice out there.

Once more, we appreciate your help and thank you for your help.

Having a problem trying to find recipes for specific things and I can find the recipes and crafting requirements but nothing listed about where to get the recipes. The hanging Deer Carcass is allegedly one such item that can be crafted that I've been meaning to get for a while, but I don't know where to get it.

Is it a rare drop? An NPC merchant item? An achievement unlocked item?

Can an experienced tank explain tanking system in ESO to me please?

$

I am in my late 20s and have been playing MMOs since I was a little kid and have always enjoyed the Tank in the group for dungeons & raids however this is the first game that I either dislike the tanking system or just don't understand it. I am hoping I just don't get it yet or am not far enough into the game to really see how the tank works so I thought I would jump on the forums and see if someone can explain it to me.

I am new to ESO, and have a level 22 Warden, I originally specked him with a sword and shield, heavy armor and ice armor buffs and a few light heals plus the bear companion for my ult (just cause it is cool and I like the roleplay of it no other reason) however when I started doing dungeons I found that there did not seem to be any type of threat system... it is just purely taunts and really the only taunt is puncture which is perhaps one of the most boring abilities ever known to mankind. However I found that to be really useful in the dungeon and keep mobs on me I had to just run around using puncture on everything that breathed then buffed myself and my teammates with ice abilities and some light heals. Dungeon went very well, no one died everything was great except it was not fun for me at all to play the tank... I am used to a much more dynamic and complex system then this, so am I doing it wrong or is that legit how you are supposed to tank? am I playing the wrong class for tanking? or basically can someone that is experienced let me know is tanking just not for me in this game if what I explained above bored me?

I have since respecced my warden to have a two handed sword, have heavy armor for survivability but more just be a damage dealer and am enjoying him but am happy to switch back to the tank if I can figure out a fun way to play them, let me know thanks.

ps-I am not bashing the game it has been very fun so far other then tanking... so if tanking is just not my thing in this game I will just play WoW for tanking and ESO for damage dealing and the fun lore quests so no insult intended here.

Yesterday evening my nephew was playing a random battlegrounds game. This was his first go at the battlegrounds as he had been building himself up for it. My newphew is severely disabled and has autism. He was playing with his new adaptive controller on Xbox.

After the game, which my nephew didn’t do very well in, a fellow player started a party chat with him and said the following “are you some *** who can’t hit the buttons” “seriously, uninstall the game, you are the worst player ever” “you shouldn’t be playing this game, you are spoiling it for everybody else”, “Just give up”.

I couldn’t respond quick enough as we had no mic attached, and I couldn’t knock it off quick enough, so my nephew heard it all. (The party chat is normally off but we had put it on for him tell his friends about his new adaptive controller.)

There was a few more horrible things said but they are too bad to type on here.

My nephew gets looked at and treated differently everyday in real life. He can’t do the simple things we all take for granted. When he plays ESO, he becomes one of his characters and is the same as everybody else. He loves this game, adores it, he is at his happiest.

That person ruined that last night, by being so cruel you have taken that away from him as well.

PLEASE think of the other person before saying such things. You don’t know about their situation or things they are going through. This is a game, it is supposed to be fun.

He just seen this amazing player doing brilliantly thinking I’m on his team etc, and then for that same player who he admires and wants to be like to totally destroy his confidence and belief.

It was so cruel.

I’m so angry.

Camping

I'm sure this has been suggested before, but I didn't see it anywhere and thought it deserved another mention in any case.

Tonight, I was out in Eastmarch exploring as night began to fall. There were no houses or other civilized locales about for me to go and sleep at, and I once again found myself wishing I could put down a campsite.
They used to have this kind of thing back in Star Wars Galaxies. A campsite could be of different sizes, and would act as a social spot people could shuttle to (handy when grouping).

I'd love to see this sort of thing in this game. It wouldn't have to be elaborate, a simple campfire (which I could extinguish or relight), and a tent or lean-to with a bedroll would be sufficient. I envision them as being consumable craftables, probably made by tailors or woodworkers. The campfire could be used for cooking, and it could appear on the map like a wayshrine. Ideally, it would remain in place until the character who created it moves a short distance away from it. There would also need to be a limit of one such camp within a certain radius, to avoid them appearing everywhere.

What do you think?
