As someone who has played since launch I have been asking for the return of faction lock since One Tamriel.
I realize the boosters, cheaters, exploiters and super casual PvPers may not like it, but they can play in the other campaigns.. having one meaningful campaign is enough.

To me it's the difference between playing football in the yard with your friends VS a state championship high school football game.
I would have preferred permanent faction locks per account like it used to be, but for now
this is great, really hope it inspires some of the intense competition we used to have before I had to deal with the guy I just killed trolling in my zone chat and everyone hopping to whatever side is winning.

Wood Elf/ Bosmer losing stealth passive, An open letter.

Wood Elves have always been a stealth based race and the main reason to choose these tiny characters is their innate stealth. PVE enemies in this game do not hide, so changing these characters to detect hidden enemies removes an enjoyable and realistic game mechanic and provides no benefit.

Firstly, Wood Elves have always had a head-start bonus to the stealth attribute for the past 5 Elder Scrolls titles. In 3 of those titles, they had a greater bonus to sneaking than any other race. For 5 years in TESO we have used this passive to great effect in all game modes. It is a valuable passive as evidenced by: the continuation (and even improvement) of stealth for Khajiits; two zone DLCs that benefit from this passive; trial and dungeon mechanics that take advantage of being in stealth; and the number of dismayed replies on your official forums.

In the developer notes it states that “many enemies in Tamriel can’t be bothered sneaking about!” The conclusion to replace it with 3 meter stealth detection is a contradiction because if enemies can’t be bothered to stealth, then we don’t need to detect stealth enemies. There isn’t any pve content available in the game that uses stealth detection. In pvp, 3 meters is actually a negligible amount of stealth detection because of how pvp is currently played. Stealth is used from a distance in order to stack bonuses from the Bow skill line. Stealth in melee range, at the pace of the current pvp climate, requires a skill (Vampire or Nightblade) or a potion. Being able to detect within 3 meters is not enough time to even block before a blow from stealth. “Gankers” will not disappear with the removal of this Wood Elf passive, they will just switch to Khajiit for the crits.

The identity of this race, from the first game, have been stealthy archers and thieves. It needs to remain an innate ability of the smallest race in the game to hide better than the largest. Moving this out of the racial passive and into another skill line is not a solution because a large character, such as a Nord, is realistically not as sneaky as the smallest characters. This change goes against the original vision, the established precedent, in-universe realism, and the lore within the game itself. The point of choosing the smallest character model in the game is that it’s better at hiding.

Regarding your dev note, “Previously this passive was shared between Khajiit and Wood Elf, and didn’t help them feel distinct enough from each other.“ Players expect that the smallest characters are the sneakiest, and the effort to make this minor distinction is not worth the cost of removing the main appeal of choosing Wood Elf. Khajiit and Wood Elf are already distinct enough from each other, in physical design and fighting style.

Please, reconsider this change. Stealthiness is THE identifying attribute to this race. The proposed change to this passive is disruptive and counterintuitive. Wood Elf hiding ability has been an established precedent for all 5 TES games and the past 5 years in this game.

I was thinking about it, sure most healers are made of paper and need to stay behind, and also making sure everyone are ''healthier'' but God... Tanks do a lot of the work taunting all enemies and SURVIVING THAT
But in your opinion what do you think, and if you want post a funny story that happened with playing the Role

Against my better judgment, I will give this one last go. I believe that, for the most part, the discussions have been fun and enjoyable. I feel that I've gotten to know some people on other factions a bit, and it is cool being killed by someone you recognize! :) Anyway, let's stick to talks of builds, funny stories (like the time I got jumped by 8 AD as I rode across the bridge and they bashed me to death as I fell out of my chair laughing), map strategy, which in game snacks you prefer, and of course... Ice trebs.

Encounter Logging

With the release of Elsweyr, we're adding the capability for PC players to export group based encounter logs to a local file, located in the Logs folder within your Elder Scrolls Online document folder. These logs can then be uploaded to https://www.esologs.com/, a website created by one of our community members, https://twitter.com/KihraOfTemerity. Here you can do a deep dive into logged combat events within your group to see things like damage, healing, resource usage, and much more.

To start an encounter log, enter "/encounterlog" into chat (without the quotes). Once you're finished, you can type "/encounterlog" a second time to disable logging. You'll see a system message each time letting you know if you've started logging or stopped it. You will need an account on https://www.esologs.com/ and the uploader available there to view your group's logs.

You may remember that years ago, our addon API unintentionally allowed the ability to show group combat data in real time. While we saw a merit in this as tool, we disabled that capability due to the potential for misuse with having this information readily accessible in the game and in real time. Encounter logging provides a deep look into the same data, but external to the game and not in true real time. We believe these distinctions will swing the balance back towards using a tool like this for constructive purposes rather than nefarious ones. Additionally, we have added a setting located in the Combat settings menu that hides your character name from encounter logs. This means any combat events that are logged while you are present will display anonymously.

Uploading your encounter logs privately will be available on PTS, so please feel free to generate and submit encounter logs for the new Sunspire Trial or any of the dungeons. We'll also be giving an overview of the tool tomorrow on ESO Live, so please post any questions you have that you'd like for us to answer.

Do champion points increase server load?

The CP system requires additional calculations to be made by the server. Does the ever increasing variety of CP point builds along with the amount of CP one has further the load the server must take on?

In essence, would we be able to mitigate some lag if CP was not being calculated or is it a minuscule amount of load on the server?

What a load of old tosh!! 0 motifs/style pages 4 characters each per day 3 dungeons. I have now given up. At least the other weeks I gained something. I know we have next week (5) where we could and can obtain everything ....... yeah I’ll have all the prophet pls ...... lol 😂

The fun and not so fun parts of a new build

I find the possibility of a new build something to look forward to. With all the talk about nerfing this and that abound in the forums, i find a new build for the very things people are complaining about hard to resist... Not all so long ago it was sorcs and pets. Now its nightbades. Next month it will be something else im sure. So i made this night blade and decided to focus on magicka dps, since i have a stam dps that's kinda ok. Want to compare them. Getting to level 10 is great, esp during the event. Go to the crafting stations, make level 1 gear, then the outfit station to fix it up nicely. Next it's crafting certification. Being level 3 after skipping the tutorial, applied the fest exp boost from the cake and i'm off. By the time i finish the 6 main certs i'm level 6 and high enough to do the jewls cert and then the crafting writs. Level 7 by then. Go out to the 3 basic faction starting locales to collect skyshards and achievements for the poi. Nearly level 10 by then. A few quick kills and i'm ready to start the queue for dungeons. At this point i have the choice. make training gear for level 10 or not. training gear gives a 78% boost to exp, the exp boost from the cake is 100% and the scroll i got from level 10 adds another 50%. This time i forgo the training gear for expediency. By the time the queue hits i'm nearly level 11. and i get the good old reliable fungal grotto. I know that by the time this dungeon is through, i'll be at least level 15. But that means i have to do all the bosses. You know what happens next. Someone wants to skip. the dreugh mini boss and the crab mini boss.

and this is where i am annoyed.

The people who skip ahead are cheating me and robbing me out of the exp i want for my new toon. Either by depriving me of the boons from the bosses we skip, or by killing the end boss while i'm still struggling to solo the dreugh miniboss and his cohorts. Either way i feel robbed. after complaining about it, and enduring the ridicule about how being a prepubeescent female and how i'm supposed to grow some anatomy that i clearly do not want and would be really weird to have...i just leave. I'm a 51 year old veteran of the us armed forces, on disability for noncombat related ptsd and other issues. And i have to endure some smart mouthed punk who has probably not even graduated high school bully me about how my gender is somehow inferior. Really? Really?

Next dungeon is different. Darkshade cavern has no means to skip ahead. Finish it well. By the time i'm done i'm level 17. Back on track. Do one more and with the in between stuff i'm nearly level 20 before the scroll runs out. And then i stop to go make that training gear to move forward with.

This is the official feedback thread for current class balance and the class ability audit in this update. After you have a chance to try out different combat scenarios, let us know what you think of the current balance. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
  • Are there any changes you feel are against the spirit of the class?
  • Are you able to weave abilities better or worse in this Update?
  • Do you feel your class is stronger, weaker, or relatively the same with the standardization pass on class abilities?

Cannot complete Murkmire main quest 'death and dreaming' due to game crashes

I love the Murkmire questline and really want to complete it! It's super cool. However, every time I try to get into the second area of the dreamwallow (the one after the hunting party), the area loads, I see it for half a second, and the game instantly crashes. This has happened 5 times so far, and I despair that I won't be able to finish this quest at all because of this ;w;

I'm used to game crashes, I get them several times a day on mac NA, but this is one that has really halted my progress in the stories of this game.

Looking for a new End-game PVE / Social guild? Look no further! Phantom Eye is potentially the place you want to be! We are an international community of players that focuses on the growth of its members. We run plenty of activities such as achievement hunting, vet trials of all levels, and lots more.

We currently have open and closed trials in 2 main time zones EST (UTC -4), AEST (UTC +10)

Our open trials are held daily with content mainly vCrag +/- HM, vMOL and learning runs for newer players to catch up with content.
EST open runs are held between 6pm – Midnight
AEST open runs are held between 7pm – 2am (AEST)


Our guild hall is furnished with target dummies, crafting stations, transmutation station, mundus stones, banker, and merchant. We have plenty of places for RP inclined players to have their fun in the guild hall too!

We have plenty of Master Crafters in the guild. And if you are a newbie we will be spoiling you by providing a set of training gear for you upon request!

At the moment we are still looking for more Raid leaders to help with organization so if you are interested in working for a PVE guild please let us know.

Style Page and Underlevel trolls

Congrats ZoS you've made me sick of doing dungeons, I keep trying over and over and over for the style pages, what I usually get is people way underleveled for a vet dungeon who then yap trash that I'm an elitist for mentioning their level, then blame me because they all die at either the kwama... yes KWAMA or the very first boss, some make it as far as the netch but then wind up with 50+ adds wiping out everyone. Of course it's everyone else's fault and not theirs for queuing for a vet dungeon at level 58 (lowest i've seen so far) or the last group I had where they were all under 150, 2 claimed it was all my (tank) fault while one actually understood and is out trying to level up now.

In the end I waste more hours trying and failing because of things like this and then when we DO get to the end, no page, gee isn't that just worth all the trouble of hour after hour day after day just so I can spend money in the crown shop for half the weapons...

And people wonder why I want to go to Cyro and murder people

Nightblade Dark Cloak changes

I am a nightblade pve tank main. Dark cloak is the only reliable heal that a nightblade tank can use. As a tank when you are taking a lot of incoming damage you need a burst heal not a heal over time. I would rather see the minor protection removed from dark cloak completely but have an instant heal dark cloak with a heal over time attached to it. I dont mind the amount of total healing i just dont want it spread out across 8 seconds when I need a burst heal NOW.
Dragonknights have green dragon blood and coagulating blood for burst heals.
Sorcs have the clanfear which heals for a huge amount of max health upon instant cast.
Templars have tons of burst heals that are instant cast.
Wardens have arctic wind which has a burst heal with a heal over time attached to it.
Necromancers have their scythe ability which heals instantly for a percentage of max health.
Why cant nightblades have a burst heal too?
I wish it was something like heals for 36% of your max health instantly. Or even something like heal for 15% of your max health instantly and 15% of your max health over 3 seconds.

The minor protection is not why this skill is used. It is used for the healing. Nerfing the reliability of the healing will make it pointless.
If you want minor protection on a tank you can use circle of protection(fighters guild) or slot temporal guard(psijic ult morph).
I went on pts today and my dark cloak tooltip was like 2k healing per second for 8 seconds. That was with my standard pve vet trials tank setup.
4.5% max health healing per second when you have about 40k health is only 1800 health per second.. What are nightblade tanks supposed to use now??

Everybody knows fashion is true endgame meaning that all of these bugs completely break the game. So i decided to make a list of all the broken fashion related stuff hoping that ZOS will maybe fix it then.
If there's anything missing just reply with a screenshot of it to the thread and i'll add it to the post.
