40k on a test dummy?

God I'm sick of hearing game demi-gods claiming this is easy. I can trash mobs at 40-60k, kick dolmens and public dungeons solo, do some Craglorn group content solo (yeah, yeah, I know some of you can do this blindfolded), so I've got a few skills, but put be in front of a 3 ml test dummy and I can stand there buffing, de-buffing, laying down DoT's, and blasting with everything I've got while maintaining my resources and can still only manage about 10-12k at most. After 1700+ hours and a couple of DPS toons at 700+ CP, gold gear and staff, decent rotation skills, animation canceling (though I'm not really great at it) and I still comparably suck. Put me a vet dungeon where I'm running around trying to stay alive and my suckage meter goes up even further. As a result, I don't even try vet and any HM content as I'm tired of guys getting pissed and kicking me. Honestly, I'm doing the very best I can, but apparently there's something I'm missing? I have no clue how anyone can get even 20k out of a test dummy let alone maintain that level in a dungeon and/or trial. Am I forever doomed to an ESO life of suckage? :(

please take it out of "Daedric Summoning" tree and replace with "Capacitor" passive from the "Storm Calling" tree, there is literally just 1 skill for the stam sorc on that tree and it's not worth slotting , or just remove the requirement to have a skill slotted in order to get passive, stam sorc is in such a bad spot anyway , nobody is playing it anymore.
magika sorc are so strong atm in comparison, and they get their passives for free, it doesn't make sense.
stam sorc will still be an underdog even after this change , but come on... give us some breathing room.

Easiest way to get your daily IC event tickets

How to get the achievement:
Participate in the killing of the 12 horrors in the Imperial City.

How to enter Imperial City:
- press "L"
- select "Campaigns"
- select "Imperial City"
- right click on either CP on Non-CP Imperial City
- choose "enter"
You will be transported to your Alliance Home Base in the Imperial Sewers.

How to check:
- press "J"
- select "Achievements"
- scroll down to "Imperial City"
- select "General"
- find "Horror of Horrors"

How to get event tickets:
Defeat the final boss of Imperial City Prison dungeon or White-Gold Tower dungeon
or
Defeat a patrolling boss (horror) in Imperial City or mini-boss in the Imperial City sewers.

There are 12 patrolling horrors in total, 2 of them spawn in each of the 6 districts in random order but at specific locations:

Gorgoloch the Destroyer - (Flesh Atronoch)
King Khrogo - (Daedroth)

All these glowing mounts and pets make this game look bad

I'm trying to come back to the game after a few years and all that I'm noticing now are these glowing camels and people with lights all over their bodies and random glowing sh@! everywhere that looks like some generic copy paste japanese mmo. My question regarding this phenomenon is why and should I expect content in the future to ignore the established Elder Scrolls style and expect something more along the lines of final fantasy?

ESO needs some cloaks!

This is something myself and a few different groups of mine have discussed time and again now. Elder Scrolls in general has pretty much entirely overlooked cloaks as something that even exists. Luckily mods exist in other games such as Skyrim to fix that little issue, but obviously there's nothing to fix that in ESO.

Cloaks seem like something that would be very easy to implement, maybe with some tweaks here or there for different kinds (like thicker fur cloaks for nords and orcs up in cold northern areas, but more linen cloaks for places like Elsweyr or Valenwood).

Cloaks could be equipped the same as things like disguises and guild tabards into the Appearance slot on characters as more aesthetic pieces rather than gear slot pieces.

Hey folks. We are a small social guild (14 of us - Wowsers) and are looking to grow just a little bit bigger. We are back from a long hiatus and currently in a rebuild stage.

When the objectives of playing are too defined, the game can start to feel like a job. In our constant quest to avoid burnout, we will do just about anything guild members want to do.

Want to run the daily dungeons? We love those things! Want to run around a zone killing rabbits? That's not very nice, but we'll play along. Want to test your iron in Cyrodiil? You'll probably need to be AD then because most of us are... but we'll still do it!

We host weekly events. We welcome new and veteran players. We are always willing to teach others about the game, and a number of us have been playing this game together for 1+ years. No level requirement, no gear or experience requirement, just please be 18+ as we are all goofy adults and would like the same.

Need a Solo Pvp Character

Im looking for something new. I only solo pvp no small group no other player.

Not feeling the magblade this patch. Was thinking maybe a stam blade or stamplar. I need something with good mobility and escape tools plus able to have some defensive with pressure to kill since im alone. (i know i want it all)
Any ideas what would be a good fit for a cp enviorment?

I have tryed a stam sorc, not much on dizzy swing i know its a l2p issue but last time i tryed i was wipped before i could get 1 swing off lol kinda ruined it for me.

Never been in Imperial City, how to do this event?

I never have been in Imperial City. Well I was in the sewers, to talk to someone to start a quest in Cyrodill. As for Imperial City its self, I tried to to that quest you get at level 10 and can never do it. So I don't have a clue what to do if I try Imperial City for the event here.

Can anyone help or give suggestions and ideas what to do?

So... what’s everyone thinking with the PTS changes?

I logged onto PTS and checked some stuff out but no duels or BGs. Here are my thoughts:
- refreshing path’s been buffed a bit but is being overshadowed by other abilities. It’s almost exactly the same healing as illustrious healing but a smaller area and costs a lot more
- Combat Prayer got a buff but the healing’s still pretty low
- The other morph of combat Prayer looks a lot better. Before when both were weak it didn’t make much of a difference, now it’s an extra 1k base in pvp heal per player, that’s a lot
- Rapid regen and mutagen both look good
- BRP resto with the ward is meh as a healer, cloak blades might like it but the tooltip’s low in no-CP
- The lotus fan nerf is a little too big imo. Unless you’re a melee I don’t see the point with all other dots getting a buff
- Sap’s healing is okayish, I could see someone making a sap tank build if it wasn’t for onslaught
- Onslaught buff will make for some people interesting 2h magblade builds.
- Dot tooltips are great, crazy long ramp up
- My gear was a little different but healthy Offering seemed changed, I’m not sure

Here’s what I’m thinking for my build when the patch hits:
Breton
5L-1M-1H. Buffer of the swift, Transmutation and the grundwhatever monster set, master’s staff back bar. 2x sp glyphs, 1x mag recovery
Healthy Offering, Illustrious Healing, Mutagen, Refreshing Path, Shadowy Disguise - Soul Siphon
Soul Splitting Trap, debilitate, entropy, Flame Reach, Shade - Soul Harvest

Sort of like a hot healer with healthy Offering for burst healing. Dots for offense, but I might drop one for impale.

What are you guys planning on doing with your jewellery traits? Protective looks... meh. Triune or leave as magicka?

Bound Weapons or Blade & Orb/Tome.
Unarmed.

I think Magicka DPS need one more type of weapon type because staves are not interesting at all. Would be cool if we had Bound Weapons that summoned themselves in your hands as you sheathe them and their damage scaled with your max Magicka but cannot be enchanted (maybe).
Unarmed? Well, who doesn't wanna be an asskicking monk? Could possibly even add a taunt to it in the form of a slap or something.

EU Server Performance - Update from Matt Firor

Hi everyone,

Today, members of the ESO team are participating in a Reddit AMA over on the ESO subreddit. We have seen your questions and concerns about EU server performance, server capacity, and issues with the Activity Finder, and wanted to make sure we addressed them in the AMA and here. Below is a response from Game Director Matt Firor.
Hello! I suspect we'll get questions about performance more than a few times today, so I prepared a description of what we have going on to address performance concerns - on a number of fronts.

Even though there is very little new information here, we definitely could be doing a better job of keeping everyone appraised of how things are going while we are in process. We will be better messengers in the future keeping everyone up to date on longer-term fixes and updates.

First, server capacity. As we all know, we had server capacity issues a few months back, especially on the PC EU servers. We were forced to temporarily cap the number of concurrent users on PC EU and put up a queuing system to enforce it. We got the new capacity online for PC EU in a week, and added that same capacity for PC NA (which was very close to experiencing the same problems). We took the queuing system down, and we can now support the concurrency demand we are seeing.

Second, the looking for group system. As we posted last week, we are working on a 100% revamp of this system, which is mostly used for Dungeon and Battleground queuing. We have a version done that we are testing in-house, although it will be a while before it goes live. We want to make sure that the solution we have scales correctly and will support the now massive numbers of players that are using the system. We are planning for revamped LFG system to be in Update 24, depending on how testing is going. Until then, we will continue with the only solution we have (which we posted about last week in the LFG update) - cap the number of players in the queue. We know it is extremely frustrating to not be able to queue for dungeons and BGs and get "cannot join queue" when you try, but at least now once you get into a queue successfully, you should be able to join the dungeon or BG.

Third: overall performance. Rich talked about this in his end of year message six months ago: we are currently implementing sweeping optimization and memory management client architecture changes that should improve client performance and especially client stability. These optimizations will be most noticeable on lower-spec PCs, base Xbox, and base PS4, but overall everyone should notice better stability and performance. This is scheduled for Update 24. Additionally, we have another set of optimizations scheduled for Q1 next year that will reduce the client "footprint" requirements and should speed up loading times.

Fourth: Longer term, we are in the beginning stages of combat system performance improvements that should improve overall game performance in Cyrodiil and Trials. Stay tuned for updates on this.

Obviously if anything else crops up, we'll investigate. I know that it can seem like it takes an inordinate amount of time to address performance problems, but we need to take our time and make sure that we don't introduce new issues while we do this. Thanks for your patience, and we will keep you updated.

Declining Population

The population on all PvP servers has dropped dramatically since the imposition on faction lock.......need to change something STAT. As a player who has been here since beta, I have toons of all three factions I have carefully curated for PvP, but only those eligible for the 30 day CP campaign have anyone to play with. Well intentioned but poorly executed.

Best "Bursty" dps for stam? (pve)

Ok, mag class buttoned up (thanks with the Magplar help!) but now am looking at a stam class and like go in and kill and kill fast, if possible. I know Scalebreaker is year of the Dots but that said which stam class can still be considered a burst sort damage dealer? I have a 2h StamSorc build (Cleave) that just melts things but its mostly targeted at aoe and does that very well. Now looking for something a bit different and am wondering if StamBlade is the best ticket? Seems to use a decent about of class skills, which is a plus, and was at one time king. Not keen to play Stamcro since everyone and their mother is playing one and the corpse mechanic is still an odd one to get my head around.
So, ya'll reckon a Stamblade be a good choice? Or is it too little to late for them?

I have thé following sets: hundings, spriggans, tzogvin, relequen, briarheart and leviathan. I also have maelstrom bow. Need some advice what would be the best combo's for a DW/bow bosmer stamblade and what weapon traits. I suppose always relequen but combined wiith which other sets .... ?

Onslaught + Jabs = Healthy Gameplay?

Hiya,


So we've all had time to experience most builds introduced thanks to the Scalebreaker changes. Dizzying Swing, Onslaught, the DoT buffs, such abilities are all separately fine in vacuum and are usually manageable in actual scenarios in my experience. One combination of skills that had me scratching my head in bafflement is Onslaught + Power of the Light + Jabs. It's a combo that pretty much has no real counterplay since you'll first be gently introduced to a 30% snare from ER, then set Offbalance and stunned by the most annoying Gap Closer in existence. By the time you're on your feet, you've got a 70% snare and can't escape the Templar's warm and loving embrace, because they can Gap Close whenever. Suddenly you're tapped on the head by a lovely 7k-9k Onslaught and Power of the Light explodes for anything between 8k-10k, and each Jab starts hitting for 3k-4k + Burning Light. Let's not forget that Templars have the easiest access to Major Savagery.

You can't dodge roll because you'll be taking full damage, you can't kite the Templar like you would a DK using Corrosive because they can Gap Close, stun, and snare you with ease. Most run Quick Cloak or RAT anyway. Blocking is pointless and not even Vigor + Cauterize + Lingering Potions + Major Mending can save your hide from Onslaught-buffed Jabs. At this point, it's advisable to leave your seat and grab a glass of water.

So, I'm eager to know the community's experience with Stamplars running this sort of setup (literally all of them). Is this combo fine ("balanced") and how do you deal with them?
