Lopsided Victories (Kaalgrondtiid) PC NA

Let me start by saying, I have been an EP loyalist since 2014.

This is just an observation.

It seems since faction lock has been implemented that every campaign score has been extremely lopsided. If I remember correctly AD was doing very well at first, but since then EP has been steamrolling the other factions hard. I don't know if its entirely due to the faction lock, but it seems to be the cause.

My guess is that since EP started to beat much butt that more people chose EP characters for the win so to speak.. Anyway I digress, because of this IMO faction lock campaign has become boring. Every time I log on EP is winning by a 10k margin. I guess if you are like me, and want a point challenge there is no incentive when you are winning by 10k, have all the scrolls and the whole map is red. As a result I hardly PvP anymore, because bringing a beat down to an opponent that is already bleeding poses no interest for me.

I see some AD blob groups occasionally, and some good small man DC stuff happening but they are not presenting a challenge. Does anyone else out there feel like I do? Or am I wrong and faction lock has nothing to do with these blowout victories?

What can we do as a community to bring the fun, excitement, and challenge of a close scoring game back? Is faction lock a good thing or a bad? I think we need to bring this discussion back to the table.

Anyway thanks for listening, this has been on my mind for some time.

PTS Update 25 - Feedback Thread for Battlegrounds Solo Queuing

This is the official feedback thread for the upcoming change to Battlegrounds including solo queuing and MMR resets. To reiterate what was stated in the PTS patch notes, this is a big change to Battlegrounds matchmaking which we are executing partially in response to player feedback and partially as an experiment. We recognize the change will prevent players from being able to reliably team up with friends in Battlegrounds, but it should also improve both the speed of matchmaking and the competitiveness of PvP matches. As part of the change, we are resetting the matchmaking rating (MMR) of all players, so going forward, the system more properly evaluates individuals based on their performance in the solo queue.

We’ll be closely monitoring both player feedback and the impact of these changes on the system.

Going forward, we'd like to keep all discussion about these changes in this thread to keep the conversation consolidated. Thank you!

ESO is my favorite video game ever. I have spent god-knows how many hours in Cyrodiil. It has provided endless enjoyment in those de-stress hours after work with a cocktail, or when I’m stuck on bed rest with a cold, or on late weekend nights when a little digital mayhem feels appropriate.

I’ve always been as much an explorer as a fighter. I know most every minor play set in the zone...the khajiit Pirate Bay, the werewolf encampment...the weird guy with a dead wife who’s having a tea party with corpses. I know the fight sets too...I know the best corner to hide in at Faregyl, and I know a certain platform at at a certain keep that will remain unnamed where range attacks get a range boost for no reason.

Today, traveling from Drake to Cropsford, I found a small detail I’ve never noticed before...a small shrine set into a hill. It’s nothing more than an inset stone tablet with a carved lion motif and some paving set around it. There are no NPCs or any clue as to what this shrine is, or how old it might be. It doesn’t have to be there, but at some point a designer decided to add some detail to an otherwise deserted area.

Cyrodiil continues to impress me all these years later...thank you for providing such an amazing play set for your players.

Gamepad UI: Update 5.3 disables scaling, making it very obtrusive on PC

Just a heads up for PC players using a gamepad. Update 5.3 coming with the Harrowstorm DLC will disable scaling for the gamepad UI on PC. This was confirmed by Gina on the PTS forum:
Hey all, just wanted to confirm this is not a bug, but something we deliberately changed due to it causing a myriad of other UI-related issues. We apologize for missing the patch note for this change, and will make sure it gets included in the PC launch notes
This means the gamepad UI will appear INCREDIBLY LARGE, making it quite obtrusive and difficult to use in a PC environment where you are sitting much closer to the screen.

This will probably get lost among other topics of the new update, but I thought players should know to avoid an unpleasant surprise on release day.

I haven't played the game since the big DOT PVP meta. I am a PVP focused player that is thinking of returning and just had a couple questions. Is the Cyro server performance still atrocious and how has the class balance come along? I remember that ZOS hired a new combat team and they were working on a complete rebalance of just about everything but I didn't stick around to see what happened. For reference I play a stam sorc but don't care if they are the current meta or anything as long as they can compete with other builds and not get steamrolled.

More Necromancer skills should be strengthened by dead bodies

The TLDR is the title.

Personally as a Necromancer player I feel like I should be driven away from the corpses by other players in pvp.
The reason for that, I mean from an ‘in world’ perspective, who would actually by mad enough to face a Necromancer in a graveyard?

Shouldn’t a Necromancer get more dangerous as the corpses mount up? I’m not saying all the skills can use ALL of the available bodies, that would get over powered, but if I raise a blastbones next to a fresh corpse I think it should have a bit nastier blast.

So each skill being able to use at least one corpse to get more powerful.

What do you guys think?

ZoS , why are you not fixing real issues with the game?

With all the ridiculous nerfs buffs and tweaks we see on patch notes why are actual in game issues not fixed?

Game crashes
Blue screens
Non firing skills
Unable to travel to certain instances without crashing ( cloudrest mostly)
Adds spawning in walls
Lag
Proc sets that don’t proc

There’s literally so many more but these are some that I’ve seen first hand , maybe stop looking at things like bloody name plates and look at what’s happening inside your game?

Would love to see the stuff others have encountered below.

Community Cobble Showcase #1: Fireplaces!

Hey ESO Housing Community!

As many of you probably know, I'm still *relatively* new to the ESO community, as I started playing just over a year ago after the closure of another game. As it has now been a year (and 4 days) since that game closed, I wanted to start a tradition in ESO that I loved and missed from that prior community: community custom build décor showcase threads, where anyone can post pictures of individual décors that they "cobbled" and want to share.

As such, I will be creating a new Community Cobble Showcase thread every few weeks. Each thread will be numbered, and will have a different theme. I really, really hope that others will post some of their favorite cobbles in these threads, as I would love for these showcases to be true community creations that we can all be inspired by. ESO's housing community is amazing, creative, and so incredibly supportive of each other, and I hope that these threads will serve as a centralized, easily searchable method of showcasing and iterating on various cobbled designs.

For the first showcase theme, I chose my personal favorite type of décor to cobble: fireplaces! I think I have made... *counts fingers*… 17 fireplaces since I started housing about 9 months ago, so clearly I have a fireplace obsession! I'll be hitting other themes in future showcase threads, but if you have any suggestions please feel free to PM me.

So please post pictures of your amazing, or humble, cobbled fireplaces! I can't wait to see what you have created <3




Original Post, House-Keeping Stuffs:
(1) If you want to post a picture of someone else's cobbled design, please credit the builder in your post.
(2) No cobble is too "simple" or too "obvious" to be included. Sometimes the most brilliant, unique, and creative ideas come in the simplest package!
(3) Please continue to be the kind, creative, and supportive community you already are!

Step-by-step instructions regarding an easy way to post pictures (note there are tons of other methods if you prefer another way of doing it)
(1) Take a screenshot in game.
(2) Make a copy of the screenshot. If you used your computers basic "print screen" function to take the screenshot, you have already copied the screenshot and can proceed to step 3. If you used an in-game command to take the screenshot, use your file explorer to navigate to the following location to open and copy the picture: This PC -> Documents -> Elder Scrolls Online -> Live -> Screenshots.
(3) Post the screenshot into any Discord Channel by using the command "control+v" in the channel's message box. I typically use a personal Discord channel, which is free to create, but if you would prefer a housing-friendly discord to post into, feel free to send me a PM and I will shoot you an invite to my housing guild's discord channel (its open to anyone).
(4) In Discord, click on the picture you just posted; an expanded view of the image will open.
(5) Click "Open Original", which appears underneath and to the left of the expanded image you opened in step 4. This will open the image in your default internet browser.
(6) Select the entire URL of the webpage that opened in step 5. Copy the URL.
(7) In the ESO forum thread, "leave a reply" box, click the drop down arrow to the right of the tool that looks like a mountain and a sun in a portrait frame, labelled "attach image". Click on the "image URL" text box that opens, and paste the URL you copied in step 6.

Why on earth should we still participate in PTS? Literally EVERY feedback we give just gets ignored.

We dont want those Off Balance changes - Ignored
We dont want cast time on the new stone fist - Ignored
We dont want an ranged spammable for a melee class (stamdk) - Ignored
We want Cast time on ults removed - Ignored

You have clearly NO vision or direction where we go. Game changes the meta/skills/classes every 3 month. Are we still in Beta or what?

You nerf two really good stamina spammables (Ransack/Heroic Slash) and give is a clunky shield bash as a replacement. Guess what, no one wants to spam their shield bash to deal damage while holding a sword in his other hand and never use it. You buff/nerf/buff/nerf Dizzy our only non class spammable left. How it can be to finally find a balance? You doing this since over a year and still you need to change stuff.

You put Cast time on Ults and 99% of the feedback you get is CLEARLY NEGATIVE and yet you dont remove it. No! you even put a cast time on the new stone fist....

Just admit it, you cont care about us. You do, whatever you want and we just have to accept it. You say, you have a vision for this game, yet no one else can see what you are planning. We give Feedback every PTS cicle and nearly nothing gets adressed on what we are bringing up to you. Flamelash and Off-Balance, the only thing you adressed and a snare on dizzy. Thats what we need, more snares in the game while only having 3-4 sources of snare removal. Genius.

I am just so disappointed in the devs and what they do to this game that we all fall on love with.

Trying to recover account. No response from support for 3 days.

Its Tragically funny, my rig is incredible and i can stream games of all types flawlessly. In ESO i can run through every pve zone, every Battleground, and all of IC without problems at all. When in cyrodill i sometimes get micro-lag but for the most part running around the map, defending keeps, exploring delves, fighting around DC players, fighting against AD players.... ALL no problem.

But whenever i get near EBONHEART PACT PLAYERS my game goes crazy. Lag spikes from hell, CTD crashes or inexplicable loading screens for no reason. I see half my group get Disconnected ONLY when they go near certain EP groups. My guildmates and i are pretty damn convinced its due to heavy use of Macros and Scripting by EP players who are so shite they cant play the game as intended. During Midyear Mayhem this week Ive seen an EP nightblade using Cloak, Shades, AND Sorcerer Bolt Escape!! And had a death recap showing the same EP player using Blastbones AND Flame Lash!! (necro/dk new class?)

But what bothers me most isnt the sad pathetic basement trolls playing for EP who feel the need to cheat. My real issue is with the devs who blatantly ignore the obvious and brazen use of cheat engines scripts and macros that are destroying the best part of the game. Is it really so difficult to discern who is ruining pvp with cheats and macros that spam the server so quickly they completely disable the connection of nearby player clients? How many hundreds of real players who DONT CHEAT have to get taken advantage of for ZoS to notice?

The evidence this is going on is obvious. Server/combat logs should make who is responsible pretty darn obvious as well. Even new and inexperienced players notice, "Hey i only lag and crash when i go near a certain faction," so how is it the programmers who wrote run and support this game cant figure it out?

PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO STOP CHEATERS - WHO USE HOTKEY AND MOUSE MACROS AND ILLEGAL SCRIPTS - FROM RUINING THE GAME FOR THE REST OF US. PLEASE!

Snare Immunity

How is it possible for me to be snared and have the snare status effect next to my active snare immunity status effect? Why is this so common, it essentially means snare immunity needs to be spammed when getting zerged down. There is also a huge 1 second snare applied when targets gap closed that feels around 70%-80% that again ignores snare resistance. Playing a medium armour build requires the ability to kite, however between these 2 bugs it is a ridiculously expensive process to avoid crawling around snared, please address and fix this issue next patch.

Finally completed vMA after 5 years...now to farm?

I’ve been playing on and off for 5 years but just completed my first vMA yesterday. I was stuck in Ice for 2 years. Granted, I would try for a day or two and then give up for months but I finally got it.

Part of this is self induced as I insisted on doing it on my main — a dunmer stamblade. But I did it.

I immediately started it again for a second time and made it back to Stage 9 fairly easily this time before having to log for the the night. I want the bow so I’ll keep running it.

Question: Now that I’ve completed my goal of finishing it on my stamblade, what other Nightblade builds would speed up the farming? Yes, it has to be a Nightblade as that’s all I play (I have 7 at max level)

Stamblade Werewolf?
Keep using my best character?

You say you started listening yo your player base after 5 years. Why won't you listen on basic stuff like NOT (NOT, i repeat, NOT) make combat clunkier? If so many people are asking to remove them, why the hell are you adding them to even more skills? Gosh we can't even ani cancel properly on pts! What the hell are doing guys?
Idk if you lost it in the process, but the goal here is to have people have more fun and improve the game so you get more money. Radically changing a 5yo product that people got so used to, will obtain the exact opposite.

We have a beautiful guild house for members to relax in, which also has all the set crafting stations in the game, all the mundus stones, as well as a merchant and banker.

We have our own Discord server for discussions, with voice channels for those who want to do group activities (it's not a requirement), and we have a weekly guild raffle with prizes for the winners!

Our members enjoy playing this game mostly by themselves, but can also be found helping each other in guild chat and Discord, which includes providing information, advice or guidance, as well as crafting, quests, dungeons and bosses.

would the alliance war be better without campaign scoring? 30 day or otherwise?

not saying the rewards should go away, would love to see that system kept as a personal 30 day so we could still get all them juicy rewards based on personal (rather then faction) participation and effort.

but everyone knows that targets, fighting and the like, change based on the scoring.

when first place is just too far gone, everyone kind of ignores that faction. people flip empty keeps and grab undefended scrolls for points.

the pvp this game was based off of and (in theory) improved upon was the three way combat from DaoC. however that game had FAR less emphasis on a campaign scoring system, less and harder to capture keeps, no "emperor" system and the stand in for scrolls were MUCH harder to steal (had more hoops to jump through to get to them and then a server wide announcement went out when you STARTED picking up the scroll and then it took you a couple minutes (3-5 cannot remember off the top of my head) to actually pick it up.

there was a much greater emphasis on actual pvp and battle lines would end up being very wide, similar to some of the large drawn out fights we get in the fields between outposts and keeps. zergs and ball groups would exist but with such wide battle lines and so many people and groups of various sizes you didn't really get the "one blob ult dumps another blob" we get now.


what I would personally love to see


-is the campaign overall score removed and changed to become personal / per character.
-less AP value placed on siege defense / offense ticks and resource capture.
-FAR MORE AP value for kills, kill participation, damage done, damage taken, and healing. (though while I would love to see damage done / taken / healing / etc receive just flat ap gain I realize this would have to be VERY small to avoid people just standing off in the corner *pew* *pew* ing with bows)

more focus on the PvP part of PvP

Hey guys I’m a returning player I took a break a bit ago and I’ve been itching to get back into vet trials. I’m just wondering if my stats here are ok I know my stam recovery is a little low I didn’t have the best food equipped at the time to boost that up.

About the cost of carries

So, someone was selling carries today and I thought I'd inquire about how much gold it costs.

VMoL was like a million gold whereas VHoF was 2.5mil. I asked about VCR+3 and that was for 12 million!

Now I wouldn't buy carries nor do I have any issues with people who want to buy or sell them, but 12 million? Is vcr+3 that much more difficult than vhof? I thought it takes less than half the time.
