Show me your toons with crafted gear.

With it being not that common that people play with crafted gear, which of course stinks a bit cause its the only way to see many of the new motifs, I wanted to try and promote the idea of having a nice style and motif on your toon. Please ZOS give us transmog for styles please. Anyway, please post some pictures on your toons and share your amazing looks with the rest of us. Here is my Warden Tank in his new Torug's Pact Armor crafted in Militant Ordinator style to start us off, lets see what everyone has

Pet Combat Regeneration is still bugged since PTS and yet to even be acknowledged

$

Sorc Combat Pets (Familiar/Clanferr/Twilight) and the Warden Bear Ultimate still remain bugged, or brutally stealth nerfed since PTS. If this is a bug, let us know. We've asked and asked on PTS to be met with silence. It's now and Live, and still no response.

Previously when combat ended your pets returned to your side and rapidly began to regain their health, allowing the player to only have to worry about their our resources (health included) like every other build before starting combat. Now pets will not regenerate health outside combat AT ALL (they never did during combat), and between every single encounter you have to manually heal them with a healing ability of some kind. That, or be prepared to watch them die repeatedly after being whittled down over time. Unless you've manually enabled their health bars, you also won't even know when their low on health and can start a World Boss to watch them die instantly from previous wounds.

If this is somehow intended, we deserve an explanation for this unwarranted nerf: Combat Pet regeneration is the only thing that keeps them in line with any other player build, and removing it means any combat pet user now has to micromanage their pet health out of combat in addition to managing it within combat (which we already have to). What was the purpose of slow, repeated buffs to combat pets just to give them a hidden nerf... including a nerf to your newest class??

@ZOS we've been polite on PTS for months, you didn't respond. It's now Live without a response. We want answers, is this a bug or not?

ESO: Morrowind Size Comparison - Does Size Matter?

Many will have seen this in the closed Beta forum, but I wanted to bring the post out since the NDA has been lifted.

The Video Version:

So a recent MMORPG.com article showed a map of Craglorn side-by-side with a map of Vvardenfell with a blurb "Vvardenfell is indeed the game’s largest single zone to date". Well this has lead to many saying it's the same size or even smaller for various reasons.

Morrowind%201_t.jpg

We've also heard repeatedly from ZOS that Vvardenfell is the "largest zone to date". But is it really? That's the task I set out to prove or disprove.

First let's talk about that huge volcano everyone likes to reference. Yep, it's there. Yep, it not explorable space. So with huge props to Reddit user LonelyTank, who did all the work, let's remove all unexplorable space from the maps of Vvardenfell, Craglorn and Wrothgar.

HrdXSIv.jpg

Pmun3Zg.png

Now let's count the pixels of explorable space. Seriously.
  • Vvardenfell has 84,259 pixels
  • Craglorn has 66,348 pixels
  • Wrothgar has 70,091 pixels

So in simply pixels of overworld explorable space, Vvardefell is 27.00% larger than Craglorn and 20.21% larger than Wrothgar. But that's not the whole story.

Comparing maps comes down to the scale of each map. How do we determine that? For this mission I got an assist from the add-on Map Coordinates and here's what I did. I went into Vvardenfell took my starting XY coordinates, /coords with the add-on installed, walked (technically it's running) in one direction for 10 seconds and stopped. I recorded the XY coordinates of my finish point and calculated the distance. I did this three times and came out with an average of 1.4958 units. All maps start at 0,0 in the upper left and end at 100,100 in the lower right. I did the same for Craglorn and got an average of 1.9348 units and in Wrothgar I got 1.9026. The fact that I traversed less distance on the Vvardefell map in the same amount of time means the Vvardenfell map is larger. In fact it is exactly 29.35% larger than Craglorn and 27.19% larger than Wrothgar. This means when adjusted for scale, Vvardenfell's pixel count becomes 108,986 when compared to Craglorn and 107,170 when compared to Wrothgar.

This makes the explorable overland space of Vvardenfell 64.26% larger than Craglorn and 52.90% larger than Wrothgar.

KodiPvP, how does he do it?

Last night I watched Twitch live stream: "KodiPvP"

He played on PC North America with a DC character. Unknown which campaign.

Redguard, Stamina, DragonKnight, Vampire- sword/shield and 2 handed Sword

Warrior's Fury -heavy armor set- when you take critical damage you gain weapon damage

Werewolf Hide- weapons and jewelry set- when you take damage you gain ultimate

Weapon damage appeared to be 3,000-3,400 --- ? (I can barely break 2k!)

Ultimates: Spell Wall and Dragonleap

Stats appeared within normal range: roughly 10k magika, 24k health, 30k stamina (rough numbers, can't remember exactly)
Looked like immovable potions
Purple drink= health, stam, stam recovery

1. The guy stays calm during all fights (note to self* no more screaming, flailing, crying, and smashing keyboard..)
2. He has amazing movement and positioning skills
3. He did this all while chatting with his friend Jules and responding to comments live on twitch.
4. He fought solo and I never saw any tricks or "cheapy" maneuvers.
5. He did not have a stealthed NB ganker by his side nor did he have a pocket healer... (like so many others I encounter in Cyridil...)
6. He seemed to fight multiple opponents continuously.... and he kept winning.

I watched several times as his health bounced up and down like a yo-yo.. almost dead then back to full, back down to almost dead and back up to full....
At times there were whole groups on him and still he managed to keep moving (I always get CC'ed and then smashed).
I've been part of these groups all trying to burst down one player who seems invincible and it is super frustrating. Especially when he turn around and kills one or two like nothing...

What's the key here? I need to figure this out so I can get better.

So frustrating to be stuck in the minor leagues....

PS. I was not able to find any web page with his builds or "how to" descriptions, only you tube and twitch.

Thanks!

Some weird stuff happening Vevic PC/EU

Last night prime time vivid i had some weird stuff happening to me and players around me, here's a short list ,didn't make screenshots or recordings so your gonna have to do with my word.

1. Mounted up started running fell trough the floor and back at spawn ... a bit annoying .
2. Random player attacks triggering after respawn , like burning embers animation and dmg at a shrine in a friendly keep where there is no player to be seen .. looks funny but might give some issues
3. a 14k oil tick ???!!!??? a bit too much , luckily i was the one oiling XD
4. respawning and i'm dead ... respawn at a keep just to die to the same recap i died from earlier ... not possible to resurrect without restarting the game ...

Well that's about it not game breaking , but happens often enough to cause an issue ...
Anyone got similar issues , what could cause this , how can we avoid it ?

Also after looting the undaunted chest for the key, game freezes.
The same when selling stuff to the undaunted merchant guy.

Not sure if some broken addon updated today or some game bug.....

Ancestral Tombs Hunter - Not Awarding Achievement - Bug

$

There is a bug that when you get all rubbings and turn them in, for some people one is still missing (Serano Ancestral Tomb).

The rubbing is taken, so you can't take it again. After turning it in, Librarian Bradyn removes it from your inventory, but doesn't grant the map piece. It does not reappear at the shrine, so the bug is achievement-breaking. For both people I know that have the bug it's the Serano Ancestral Tomb rubbing.

Please fix this.

P.S.: I am talking about the Serano piece, not about the very last one that is still required through a quest after the achievement is done.

Magicka Warden - Alter vs Breton

I am planning to mostly be a healer, but I'm sure I will DPS some of the time. How much less damage does a Breton really do? I would lose 4% of elemental damage, I know. But what % of a warden magicka build's damage is elemental vs magical (so for example, if it was 50/50, then it'd really only be a 2% dmg buff for the altmer)? And how do I compare the recovery vs cost reduction?

Skill Gap Too High for New Players in PVP?

$
0
0
The general ESO population has increased since One Tamriel and recently I've seen more new players in PVP, but I wonder if the skill gap for new players just starting in Cyrodiil is so much bigger now that nobody is going to have the kind of experience I had when I started, or whatever it was like the first time you tried PVP and got hooked. I see a lot of comments from PVE players who have tried PVP once or twice and felt like it was impossible.

When I started playing ESO during Psijic beta, for months I played this game pretty much as if it were Skyrim, just wandering around exploring the world. Zero plans to try PVP or even level any character all the way to max. Didn't even use wayshrines because I don't fast travel in Skyrim.

Then one day they asked everyone to go to Cyrodiil to participate in filming a big battle video for a trailer. Mind was blown. Suddenly I was in this massive sandbox world that turned out to be more fun than the rest of the game.

They told us all to make our way to some sort of siege battle going on at Chalman keep. Looked at the map and it seemed incredibly far - I believe I spawned somewhere near Brindle, walked up a nearby mountain and suddenly there was a stampede of 30 enemy players on horses running right at me. (I thought they must have been super rich guys to afford a horse.) An epic chase ensued and they followed me all over that mountain for a while. Finally killed me, but it was so cool, felt like an exciting adventure, more fun than the PVE areas.

I made it to Chalman and it was like an insane war zone with all kinds of explosions and magic spells flying everywhere. That whole day I stayed in Cyrodiil and had so much fun all over the map. Even in the little delves and towns you could find enemy players doing quests, ganking or people who came to gank the gankers etc.

Not even sure exactly what the appeal is, but 4 years later I'm still hooked on the PVP in this game. When I started, almost nobody had a clue. Obviously there were no youtube videos or website info during beta. There were guild groups, and some min/max players of course, and AD dominated the map for several months, but there were not a lot of people playing and most were around the same skill level.

Then finally ESO launched and it was fun as hell. So many new players everywhere - ten different campaigns, epic battles raging all over the map 24/7, even weeknights. And for at least a couple months still rather few people had a clue how to play this game. I mean if you figured out how to block you were so pro! If you had martial knowledge and warlock jewelry or whatever the various meta sets were back then, you were almost like a god. (And let's not even talk about vampire magicka DKs)

At this point the PVP population began to dwindle down to a fraction of what it had been. Some quit because they didn't want to play light armor magicka build. Others hated getting killed by vampire magicka DKs or didn't like the idea of rolling a new character and doing the veteran rank grind all over again etc. There was also a patch around this time that resulted in frame rate issues and crashes. And some people started to figure out stronger builds and group tactics. There were suddenly a number of big guild groups like MoonDie that would roll over everybody and heal in a tight zerg ball, just parked at Arrius mine all day farming AP off randoms. But still new players would join from time to time and figure out how to play within a few weeks or so.

Many patches later, now in 2017 you can finally roll viable stamina or magicka version of any class, light, medium or heavy armor all viable, and there are a lot of creative and interesting builds that would not have been possible with softcaps. There are also some amazing players, a lot of really good players and overall average skill level is much higher. And there are super strong ball groups, but on NA PC they seem to be roughly balanced between AD, DC and EP factions.

Is the skill gap too high? PVP population (including Battlegrounds) needs to grow massively if we want to have more than one main campaign, battles raging 24/7 all over the map and especially need tons of players queueing up around the clock for the BG match making.

What do you think? I know there are PVE players who do a lot of group PVE and trials etc, and then do their guild group PVP night or whatever and already know how to stack on crown etc, but how about all the solo players just hopping into some campaign for the first time? Especially all the people who will buy Morrowind because they are long time Elder Scrolls fans.

How do we get more new players hooked? For example, I'm sure I'd hate it for a while, but do we need to buff siege weapons or something? Some way for new players to feel like they are getting some kills? Or do we need a PVP tutorial arena?

What role does the warden fill?

$

My question is what role does the warden fill that wasn't in the game already?

So I'm looking at the warden, with its bear stuff and ice stuff and I cant see how that class fits into the world of Morrowind. A bear? ice? I haven't played Morrowind for year but I don't remember a bear being in the game at all (I could be wrong) or a nature base magic. so from an outsider the warden looks its being shoe horned into the game, but to what end?

with the Dunmer being one of the most memorable thing Ive seen in that game to me, I feel like a class based on them would of been more fitting to Morrwind.
I feel like technician class with steam/lava damage abilities or/and a range aoe physical skill line thought deployable machines and a centurion summon ultimate that works like the bear would of been more fitting.

How would you deal with a spammer?

So, I was traveling in Craglorn, when I encountered a level 22 player. He led me to a boss stage and asked me to duel. I agreed to duel with him and took my stance. When the duel began the level 22 player spammed the vampire move of soul suck. Due to this, it took an excruciatingly large quantity time to finish the duel, which triggered the boss to spawn, and destroy me while the level 22 fled like a coward. Due to me standing to fight and being killed by the boss, it stated that he won the duel. That is why I ask you, what would you do if you encountered a spammer?

INTRO:
This build is meant to play solo or in a small group (not more than 4). *This build is not meant for healing*
PROs: really high single target damage + Long range damage + extremely good sustain (3.5k magicka regen with lich proc)
CONs: lack aoe damage
FULL BUILD INFO:

SETS:
2 light 5 Heavy
Sets: Skoria, Shacklebreaker & Lich
Lighting Staff and s&b setup

FKpv04k.png
WHY HEAVY ARMOR? Pretty simple. To survive all the hard hitting stam/mag users. Without shields heavy armor is the way to go.
WHY Shacklebreaker + LICH? Shacklebreaker is the set to go for to be able to use witchmother potent brew foodbuff while maintaining a 14/15k stamina pool. With the removal of reduce cost CP having around 1.8k magicka regen is extremely important to sustain in PVP. Lich on the other hand runs only on backbar to provide a big rush of magicka boost when resource pool is running low.
WHY SKORIA OVER GROTHAR? 2 reasons - CD is faster 5 secs against 10 secs. skoria is locked on target and grothar is locked on user. This is a range build so skoria wins.
CP, Mundus & FoodBuff
Very straight forward and generic CP setup. Just make sure u have 45 points or so into master-at-arm because this build focuses more on single target damage. Do put some into block cost reduction as well
Atro mundus or Thief mundus & witchmother brew foodbuff
SKILLS:
Uch4wON.png
If you want to run a jabbing build, remove force pulse+cc spear and include jabs+toppling charge
For raiding: Walls of element + shards are really good options
Soul Assault is a decent ultimate for pure single target instead of meteor
Bats is pretty good as well for a substitute for shield ulti

COMBACT GAMEPLAY
Combact Tips - 7:37 onwards in video. Highly recommandable!
since it explains how the build function.
Or you could just watch the gameplay video ;)

Important combat info:
This build is meant to play from a distance from other players since all of your skills are range skills. The basic combo will be purifying light > vampire's bane > meteor > cc spear > execute beam
However if your ultimate is not ready just weave in some heavy attacks + force pulse after applying purifying+vamp bane. Also, always make sure both ground buffs are up during combat!
Lastly, when lich procced during combat try to avoid using misform if possible. That's it! You are now ready for PVP :D

LAST WORDS:
Mag Templar is one of the harder classes to go solo. having a mate with u is the best way to play. That being said with a smart use of LOS or indoors advantage templars do have a really good chance in 1vX-ing(even against decent players) because of the setup u have u get to surprise many players with your outcoming damage. A lot of the times it comes down to being aggressive at the right time and being defensive at the needed moments.
Feel free to give me any constructive feedback or ask me anything!

Massive hidden nerf to Stamina Wardens that people need to see

$

@ZOS_RichLambert @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_BrianWheeler @ZOS_Wrobel @ZOS_EricWrobel

This change is part of the Warden changes that were released today. They are only being talked about on the PTS Morrowind forums for some reason, but it's really worth mentioning here since so many of you that were planning on making a Stamina Warden today are going to be extremely disappointed.
  • Piercing Cold now increases damage to all Magic and Cold damage abilities instead of Physical and Frost damage abilities.

This is one of the nastiest launch day changes I have seen. The fact that it is borderline hidden from the community only makes it worse. Zenimax, I would really like to see these changes reverted and hope you can find ways to help Magika Warden without completely butchering Stamina Warden.

Item Conversion (transmogrification)

$

So, Morrowind was announced and in collector edition u have option like it was in imperial one. U can convert ur gear look into another style (Imperial & Morag Tong).
So, why we still dont have possibility to convert our gear style in any another? Why this conversion does not include drop or monster sets?

As to me, I tired of dying and costumes, Im tired trying make my gear look better when it is mix from different sets, some of them (like argonian) looks ugly (as to me).
If ZoS make this option for other styles there will be more options to use crafting achievments. This option open wide space for using style books, style mats, etc.

For example I see this option like this. Conversion exist for any style like a parlor and need learned style and 1 piece of style item to convert 1 piece of gear to another look. Easy and efficient, I think.
