Hey ESO Housing Community! Everyone been brushing up on their kitchen skills during quarantine? Good! Because its time for...

Community Cobble Showcase #8!

The theme of this showcase is "Food." Show me your edibles, your delectables, your to die for greasy goodness! Let's all pretend its Instagram (or whatever the cool kids are using these days) and show off our favorite cooking cobbles!

I'll be hitting other themes in future showcase threads, but if you have any suggestions that you would like to see sooner rather than later, please feel free to PM me.

As always, I want to send a BIG thank you to everyone who has shared their cobbles in any of the community cobble threads. As I said in the first showcase post, ESO's housing community is amazing, creative, and so incredibly supportive of each other, and I hope that these threads will serve as a centralized, easily searchable method of showcasing and iterating on various cobbled designs. I also want to give a big shout-out and thanks to @StabbityDoom who takes the best notes in all of Tamriel and has really enabled the sharing of cobbles created by builders who are not typically active on the forums. <3

I can't wait to see what you guys have created!

Original Post, House-Keeping Stuffs:
(1) If you want to post a picture of someone else's cobbled design, please credit the builder in your post.
(2) No cobble is too "simple" or too "obvious" to be included. Sometimes the most brilliant, unique, and creative ideas come in the simplest package!
(3) Please continue to be the kind, creative, and supportive community you already are!

Step-by-step instructions regarding an easy way to post pictures (note there are tons of other methods if you prefer another way of doing it)
(1) Take a screenshot in game.
(2) Make a copy of the screenshot. If you used your computers basic "print screen" function to take the screenshot, you have already copied the screenshot and can proceed to step 3. If you used an in-game command to take the screenshot, use your file explorer to navigate to the following location to open and copy the picture: This PC -> Documents -> Elder Scrolls Online -> Live -> Screenshots.
(3) Post the screenshot into any Discord Channel by using the command "control+v" in the channel's message box. I typically use a personal Discord channel, which is free to create, but if you would prefer a housing-friendly discord to post into, feel free to send me a PM and I will shoot you an invite to my housing guild's discord channel (its open to anyone).
(4) In Discord, click on the picture you just posted; an expanded view of the image will open.
(5) Click "Open Original", which appears underneath and to the left of the expanded image you opened in step 4. This will open the image in your default internet browser.

Hey ESO Housing Community! It's that time again... not that time has any meaning atm, or that I have been particularly consistent <3

Community Cobble Showcase #7!

The theme of this showcase is "Music." No terribly complicated interpretations this time - if your cobble depicts something capable of making sound, you're good!

I'll be hitting other themes in future showcase threads, but if you have any suggestions that you would like to see sooner rather than later, please feel free to PM me.

Hey ESO Housing Community! As promised, it's now time for Community Cobble Showcase #2:

The theme of this showcase is "lighting." Any type of lighting will do, whether its a table lamp, pendant light, lantern, chandelier, sconce, candelabra, or an un-nameable feature (a major purpose of which is to provide light)... you get the picture! I'll be hitting other themes in future showcase threads, but if you have any suggestions that you would like to see sooner rather than later, please feel free to PM me.

I also want to thank everyone who shared their cobbles in the first community cobble thread. I can't state enough how inspiring it was to see this community's ridiculously fantabulous creativity in the form of cobbled fireplaces. The support this community provided for everyone's ideas and visions was truly uplifting. As I said in the first showcase post, ESO's housing community is amazing, creative, and so incredibly supportive of each other, and I hope that these threads will serve as a centralized, easily searchable method of showcasing and iterating on various cobbled designs.

So please post pictures of your amazing, humble, or just plain crazy cobbled lighting sources! I can't wait to see what you have created <3

Hey ESO Housing Community! As promised (and I apologize for being late!), it's now time for Community Cobble Showcase #5!

The theme of this showcase is "Beds (and Other Sleeping Arrangements)." We don't like to judge! If your character or your guests sleep on it, we want to see it.

I'll be hitting other themes in future showcase threads, but if you have any suggestions that you would like to see sooner rather than later, please feel free to PM me.

Anniversary Jubilee Event - What do I spend tickets on?

Hello,

This event has been one of my favorites. However, I have run out of things to spend tickets on. Since last event was so short, I missed out on the third skin fragment, and since those are gone now, I can't morph my morpholith - additionally, I have already purchased the only two other fragments available for the personality. I have obtained all of the style pages, bought a cake, and I am now at maximum tickets. I personally do not have a use for more cakes or group repair kits. What else is there? Why are there so few things to buy with tickets on such a long event? Am I just stuck with maximum tickets now, and have to wait for the end of the year to get the third skin fragment? That's been my thoughts recently. Again, it's a great event, but it feels like something is missing when it comes to the 3 tickets a day! Thank you for reading, and let me know what you think.

Questions about buying ESO digital version of the game if I already have disc version (Xbox)

I see ESO is on sale right now for $7.99 so I'm thinking about buying the digital version so I can give my friend my disc version. Not exactly sure how this works, so I have a few questions before I buy:

1) If I buy the digital version, I will no longer need to insert a disc into my console to play the game, correct?
2) Will I keep all of my purchased DLC and chapters?
3) Can I give the disc to my friend so they will now have the base game?

Thanks.

Community Cobble Showcase #1: Fireplaces!

Hey ESO Housing Community!

As many of you probably know, I'm still *relatively* new to the ESO community, as I started playing just over a year ago after the closure of another game. As it has now been a year (and 4 days) since that game closed, I wanted to start a tradition in ESO that I loved and missed from that prior community: community custom build décor showcase threads, where anyone can post pictures of individual décors that they "cobbled" and want to share.

As such, I will be creating a new Community Cobble Showcase thread every few weeks. Each thread will be numbered, and will have a different theme. I really, really hope that others will post some of their favorite cobbles in these threads, as I would love for these showcases to be true community creations that we can all be inspired by. ESO's housing community is amazing, creative, and so incredibly supportive of each other, and I hope that these threads will serve as a centralized, easily searchable method of showcasing and iterating on various cobbled designs.

For the first showcase theme, I chose my personal favorite type of décor to cobble: fireplaces! I think I have made... *counts fingers*… 17 fireplaces since I started housing about 9 months ago, so clearly I have a fireplace obsession! I'll be hitting other themes in future showcase threads, but if you have any suggestions please feel free to PM me.

So please post pictures of your amazing, or humble, cobbled fireplaces! I can't wait to see what you have created <3

How to solve meta races problem.

$
0

I think some min/maxers will love this. I will start a bit from afar...

I've been playing Elder Scrolls games since Morrowind, and the best thing I like about these games, is that no matter what race you choose you will be fine in your desired role in the end, yes you might put a little more effort in leveling your desired skills if you didn't choose the said meta race for your build, but in the end you will be as strong as meta races. All it came down to, at least for me, which race you want to be, ults like in skyrim was just a bonus.

And that brings me to my point. Instead of adding damage or healing or some strong passive or whatever create a mechanic called "Training", I was thinking to make it in a skill line like Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood, you have to level it to 10 or so and you will get all the bonuses you desired. Another option would be just make a player go through a series of quests and that's it. Additionally you can abandon the training and go for the one you like more now. Also, for someone like redguard, leveling spell casting training, it would take more time, while if redguard levels in weapon damage, he/she would level faster etc.

But there is a trick to all this, race passives should stay, but only which define the race, for example, argonians should be resistant to poison and disease, dunmer should be more resistant to fire etc. etc. I don't really know which passives should stay on other races as I have not played them and I don't know all the lore. All I'm saying don't put strong passives as racial passives, make them as a little bonus.

I think it would solve rerolling other race for a lot of people, and everyone can play race they like the most while having passives they desire for their build. Then again it might partially solve it, since some might really like those minor buffs of the race and go just for that, I know people that rolled khajit in Skyrim game just because they liked night vision, but I don't see any way around that as those passives is what define the race. But it's better then nothing I think.

In support of this in the lore, we sometimes see something like redguard in the Psijic Order, and most of us know that Psijics are hard core spell casters, and redguards are not really that. In Morrowind solo game, there was argonian in the Mages Guild that was respected even by members of House Telvanni... I'm sure there are a lot of examples like that, but that's what comes to mind.

This would increase population of other races too, since no one is now bound by their passives.

Thoughts?

XP/transmute Rewards System Such a Mess

$
0
0
This system needs a total rework.

It was designed with two purposes:

1) Help casual players keep up with hardcore players (this is why there is stacking enlightenment, and this is why a rnd normal gives the same xp as a random vet)

2) Get people to do what the devs want them to do (this is why using the random queue gives you 10 transmutes in 5-15 minutes, but finishing a trial that it took 20 minutes to group and 40 minutes to run gives you 5 - or a monthlong campaign gives you what you could get from doing rnd normal on 5 characters in one day.

This is bad philosophy because

1) Casual players don't care about XP, and can't and don't even want to keep up with hardcore players, no matter what you try to do to spoon feed it to them. They don't enjoy playing the game competitively, why cater to allowing them to be competitive with the more competitive players? It makes not sense.

2) It's not fun to do what devs want us to do. Its fun to do exciting, interesting stuff. People stop playing games that arent fun.

How to fix:

1) Rethink the enlightenment system - change it to something that multiplies xp gain based on how hard we are grinding. For example, *0 bonus for the first time I kill something (or do anything that generates XP). *0.01 (additive) for next, if it is within N seconds of the first.

2) Make the rewards better for doing things that are more challenging

Hardmode frostvault should not give as many transmutes and xp as hardmode FG1.

Community Cobble Showcase #3: Fountains and Hardscape Water Features!

Hey ESO Housing Community! As promised, it's now time for Community Cobble Showcase #3:

The theme of this showcase is "Fountains and Hardscape Water Features."

The intention of this theme is to encompass cobbles such as fountains, water wall features, decorative pools, reflection ponds, etc. Essentially, any water feature that has been "hardscaped" into your home as opposed to being more of a "natural feature," such as, for example, a river or natural lake. Additionally, indoor water features and fountains can be a great fit as well, though things such as bathtubs, showers, and sinks would better fit later showcase themes, and are not necessarily intended to be captured by this theme (unless, for example, your soaking tub is an outdoor, hardscaped water feature).

Hey ESO Housing Community! As promised, it's now time for Community Cobble Showcase #4!

Heal + Block Stacking Too Strong in Cryodiil

Ever since CP 2.0 group players have figured out how to save the tank meta while still being able to output high damage.

For example, templars. As someone who used to main a magplar it's nice to see them and their stam brothers in arms doing so well.

But the game working as intended shouldn't create importal characters.

Here's an example that happened last night.

Three stamblades hit a magplar with 3 soul assaults. We all run the same build. Buffed up our soul assaults do over 100k damage in the tooltip.

The magplar went to their sword and board, blocked, and healed through all of it, then hit us with a 15k radial sweep.

This is just one example out of countless over the last few weeks. Wardens, sorcs and necros are also easily out healing massive damage dumps.

I'm not a nerf advocate. But things do need to be balanced before they even think about bringing back procs. If players can out heal that now, imagine if they were wearing crimson or thews.

On a related note I think the duration of some poisons should be increased, such as resource drain. Many players have figured out how to never really run out of resources which adds to the above issue.

So I cannot locate anywhere what the rules are for watching the various Twitch streams and getting drops. I managed to find one through the twitch drops campaign list on the 6th to watch the DE stream for 15m but the streamers list didn't say anything about it being a thing for that day.

Is there some sort of list talking about upcoming streams? I have the mailing list enabled and there is never anything about streams in it. I didn't even know the big one occurred at the beginning of April until a few days after it had occurred because it was so under reported anywhere.
