Defensive Position Set - anybody checked if it's any good?

(2 Items) When you reflect or absorb a spell projectile with Defensive Posture, you restore 2000 Magicka. If Defensive Posture expires without reflecting or absorbing a spell projectile, you restore 5000 Magicka instead.

Is it viable for PvE or PvP? Could we have a new meta here?

Just letting the Developers know. Guy kept hiding inside the central structure where he could not get hit....the moment he got out and was attacked he went "inside" again to avoid damage.
Employed siege from hidden spot to kill guards too

You can only see a part of his alliance shield, the character itself is "invisible"

Hello and welcome to the ESO Set Bonus Think-Tank, an ongoing community project to offer interesting and creative ideas to the dev team for 5-piece and monster 2-piece gear sets!

The rational behind this project is twofold. First, more heads are better than one (or however many devs work on set bonus ideas). Sure, some suggestions may not end up being feasible, but we also might get some great ones that could eventually find their way into the game. Second, complaining about too many proc sets is easy, but if you want to see some interesting non-proc sets in the game, put some thought into making a suggestion of your own. Let's work proactively to show the dev team the kind of set bonuses we would like to see instead of just being negative.

Please follow these guidelines when posting:

1. Only ONE set bonus suggestion per post! You do not need to speficy whether the set bonus would be for a 5-piece or 2-piece set, nor indicate other 1-4 piece bonuses, but you may if you wish. You can make multiple posts back to back, but we need each idea to be seperate because...

2. Use the <3 AWESOME reaction to indicate your interest in someone's idea. Think of this like Upvoting. It should help the devs easily see which set bonus ideas garner significant attention.

3. Although a contributor may include numberic values in their set bonus suggestion, please consider all numbers as "subject to change." I would rather not get hung up on complaints about suggested values being too OP or too weak. The values can simply act as a rough estimate or, if you are submitting an idea, you can just use [X] if you prefer.

4. There are no restrictions to the kinds of mechanics a set bonus can have. If you have an idea for a set, whether it procs off of something or not, feel free to post it. ALL IDEAS ARE WELCOME!

I hope we can get some good ideas and thoughtful discussion here that will be helpful to the dev team and healthy for the game.

Cant access game or account page

I just moved house, and have a new Xfinity router (It's the 1GB one, ARRIS GROUP INC.. TG3482G).

Before my move, I could access the game and the account page (https://account.elderscrollsonline.com) just fine.

Now, when I launch the game, I get to the log in screen, but it keeps telling me there is an error when I try to log in. When I go to the account page, It just tells me page cant be found.

If I use my VPN connection, both the game and the account page load fine with zero issues, but the VPN speed is WAY slower, so I don't want to use that as a permanent solution.

What I've tried..

1 - reboot router and PC
2 - flush DNS on PC
3 - disable Firewall on PC
4 - disable Firewall on router
5 - disable antivirus on PC

Anyone have any ideas on what the problem may be? It certainly seems the issue is with Xfinity, but contacting their support is whole other rabbit hole.

My first tank, an Ice Warden tank/mage, have questions

I've been playing MMO's for a long time, starting with DAOC. I usually play DPS, or support, or healer. This is my first real tank.

So I made an Argonian Ice tank/mage warden, lvl 20 so far. I start out with Ice Staff heavy attack taunt and then Ice Elemental Blockade followed by Gripping Shards. By the time the mobs get to me, I've switched to sword/board and then use Deep Slash to debuff the enemy's dmg, and Pierce Armor to debuff their resists, and to taunt again. They're debuffed and have two aoe dots on them. The aoe dots are good for mass taunting.

That's when I really start to block, using stamina and switching to ice staff if I need to rest stamina. Staff block uses magicka.

I went all stamina for attributes, and at 240 CP, went all health and stamina recharge. All heavy armor with stamina boost/recharge enchants.

Is this viable later on? I've just started grouping and seem OP, invincible. Is using AOE's for taunt reasonable? Magicka food will help the mage side, should I go with some stuff like Julianos, or Mother's Sorrow, to boost magicka dmg? Or go for health or stamina only as a tank? Put some CP's into magicka?

I think tanks live by their ability to taunt, so I have ice staff heavy attack taunt, pierce armor sword taunt, and AOE's. What else is there?

Any help is appreciated.

Guys Zenimax was Nice enough to give us another CP Campaign, they actually listened to us and it was nice of them. However in order for this server is be enjoyed by everyone, we will need to get alot more DC and AD players to balance the server out. There is simply too many EP players ATM on the server during prime time. The people who can help the server the most are AD and DC from Vivec who dont wanna sit in ques, or the lag. What the server needs most are a Crap ton of Ad and DC solo players, any free small man grp's and heck ill even take some zerg guilds if they are AD or DC. Please help shor needs you!

Can't get some lorebooks after quest is done.

Helo all.
I can't open some door's if there was a quest and i already did it. But I need to open it becourse inside there is book or letter I do not read! There are about 3-4 books like this. I know where they are, but i can't get in there. And some books just do not appear becourse i choose different line in conversation with NPC or made quest without reading this book or note. But i want to see this books in my Eidetic memory! I vant 100% eidetic memory fulfilled. =)

Here is the list of books:
1. In Auridon book "The Warrior's Blade". I do not remember the quest, but it is located in dungeon in Torrinaan ruin. And i have made quest in it and dungeon is locked.
2. In Estmarsh note "Snowmead's Missive" in quest "Labore dispute" - it dissapears after i did quest. And letter "Orders to Halskar" in quest "Blindsided" - it is in the building, i can't get in.
3. In Gold Coast note "Sweetrole recipients" in quest "The Sweetrole Killer" (I choose to kill her and do not get the note)
4. In Alikr's Desert note "KIDNAPPING!" I can't find it, but it should be in Sentinnel =(
5. In Shadowfen note "Eyes of the Queen only" quest in Stormhold. Note in dungeon i can't get in.
6. In Deshaan in location "Obsidian Gorge" there are two letters "House Hlaalu Merchant Camp" and "Valyia's Cargo Manifest" - they were in quest, but now i can't find them.

I have spend a lot of time trying to find these books or the way to it, but i can't. =(
I thing it is kinde of a bug, becourse aftere all quests if the book or letter is blocked or dissapear, then it will appear somwhere else. But thise books and letters are not.

I ask support to help me, but the send me here: "It's the perfect way to generate conversation between fans of the game in a place where the developers can track what the players want to see changed, added, or improved."

So i ask developers - HELP! =)

Anyone else notice how un-magical the altmer are?

This is totally random I know, but it's been bothering me for a while. I was playing through Morrowind, exploring the weird, alien, often magical culture of the dunmer when I began to notice this.

After teleporting from Vvardenfell to Vulkhel Guard, it really started to set in: the altmer aren't very magical are they?

Previous descriptions described altmer culture as inherently magical. They're supposedly advanced in both magic and science, and their cities are described as being grand, magical and alien. Meanwhile in ESO, altmer society on Auridon seems positively mundane. Boring stone cities, citizens who seem terrified of mages. There seems to be far more warriors in altmeri culture than wizards.

Altmer Sorcerer players in ESO, and even the justiciars in Skyrim summon daedra frequently. According to previous games, altmer use necromancy to keep themselves young. Yet in ESO, the altmer seem completely closed-minded and backwards when it comes to these practices. I've even had roleplayers tell me that altmer despise those who summon daedra. At the very least, the player perception of these people seems to have completely shifted toward something far more boring and mundane.

Altmer are supposed to be the most magically advanced society in the world. Their entire playstyle is based on magic, and yet it seems Zenimax had no interest in displaying this. Sometimes I wonder why Zenimax is so eager to allow other races to be strange and unique, but insist on toning down everything interesting about the altmer.

I know the argument we always come back to is "multiple interpretations" and "transcription errors", but I still feel like altmer deserve better than this. Compared to anywhere else in Tamriel, what makes Altmer culture magical at all?

Edit: Here's sort of what I'm talking about in regards to how shy altmer seem to be around magic. Apparently the entire school of conjuration is evil to them and no true altmer would ever summon a daedra, even an atronach. It's a death sentence apparently...And yet altmer have been doing this in every single game we've seen including the Thalmor in Skyrim. Did this "law" just get abolished after the second era? And what about the entire sorcerer class revolves around daedric magic. What sort of narrative dissonance is this?

I always expected altmer to be masters of magic, snobby elitist nerds who look down on the lesser races for their superstitious fear of power. Lines like these really destroy my love for the altmer and ruin everything I thought they were about.

Just what the title says. I've never played either DLC and I'm not sure which to start off with. My character is a MagBlade and my gear is a combination of light, medium and heavy armor in the Julianos set. On my front bar, I have dual wield weapons, but my skills are all from my Nightblade skill line. My back bar is destruction staff with a combination of weapon and class skills, and the destruction staff I usually use is a lightning staff. I've got an inferno staff ready to go in my inventory if I decide to go that route. I'm somewhere in the vicinity of 470 CP.

Is it better to start with the Dark Brotherhood to get the Blade of Woe? Or is it better to go Thieves Guild first and build up my sneaky skills?

Also, another question on another topic....I was doing some regular overland content in Alik'r Desert and the quest is leading me to Volenfell....which is a group dungeon. I've only ever done one and that was quite a while back. Is that dungeon soloable? Or should I try to get some other people to come with me? I'm PC/NA if anyone decides they'd like to go down the rabbit hole with me tomorrow night or Saturday.

Why Can't Anyone Let A Person 1v1?

This is the most baffling thing. If you see a member of your faction 1v1 against a member of another faction, why do you run in with your group of ten and zerg them down?

1) It proves nothing. It doesn't prove the person you killed got "rekt" or sucks, it doesn't prove you and the 5+ people with you are good.
2) Those two people aren't going to change the course of the battle so just leave them alone, why bother? You're not getting any exp or ap really.
3) Maybe they wanted to test their skill 1v1 and no they don't want to leave Cyro, 1v1 battles should be a part of war. And honestly, if it looks like a good fight chances are the person on your team doesn't want your "help," because they prob would have been fine without you. Honestly they probably shook their heads and sighed at the crumbling state of good pvp and then went and apologized to their opponent for you.
4) Dying in cyro means nothing. If youre wearing mostly impen your gear doesnt break down, you dont lose money or ap or anything. The only consequence is likely a short ride back to where you were.
5) It isn't at all cool to soul assault gank someone in the middle of a 1v1.

Times when it MIGHT be ok to intervene is if your team member is getting sniped by some *** in the trees or theyre outnumbered. Or, one person is taking out an FC or capturing a critical resource, or youre a smaller group and need every person you can get to take a keep etc. Still I even let an outnumbered team member fight it out if it looks like they can handle it.

Look I get it, the heat of battle and getting zerged down is part of Cyro open world pvp. But, just pause for one second before you go and hit your ulti button when you see a small scale or 1v1 fight happening. Assess the situation for a moment. A lot of players out there really appreciate the change in pace of a good 1v1, 1v2 or 2v2-3 or whatever from the constant zerging without being restricted to BGs. 1v1 and small scale fights are different in open world pvp than they are in BGs or duels outside of Cyro and I'm just saying, try and keep things healthy and fun for everyone. Not everything has to be zerged down everywhere all the time.

I was planning to buy 3 stacks of crates but when I looked over the Crown Gem purchases I saw the Buoyant Armiger motif. That really pissed me off being I farmed the living crap out of the motif and paid well over 1 million gold to get the last few pages. After seeing that, I'm pretty much NOT buying crown crates this season.
