Clever Alchemist in PTS 3.2.3

$
0
0
From the notes:

Clever Alchemist: This item set’s proc now requires that you are in combat for it to function.

Developer Comments:
This solves the issue where some players would activate their potion with this item set, then completely switch their gear to a new item set while retaining the bonus. We want this item set to be used more strategically in the middle of combat, rather than it only being used to one-shot players from stealth.

This change seems kind of silly in my opinion. Wouldn't a better option just be to not let you change your gear for 15s after drinking a potion? What do ya'll think?

The "Khajiit Skooma Bubbler" furnishing can now be lit, generating a soft purple plume of smoke.

This just saved me 2 slots where I use to have to put smoke effects in ty ty.

This is the official feedback thread for the new item sets and Asylum Weapons. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
  • Did you find that the Master and Maelstrom weapons were correctly changed from an enchantment to an item set? Did you get your additional free shield?
  • Were you able to clearly tell the difference between the Asylum and Perfect Asylum weapons?
  • What did you think about the new crafted item sets? Were you able to successfully craft them?
  • What did you think about the new dropped item sets from Clockwork City?
  • Were you able to find/learn the new motifs? If so, did you like their appearance?
  • Did you receive any rewards from the new Dailies?
  • Do you have any other general feedback?

Gear Swap suggestion for tanking veteran dungeons

$

To DPS while taunting, or To buff party and crowd control and chain mobs while taunting, that is the question for PUG tanks.

while some people might insist that when you queue for the tank role in a veteran dungeon, you must diligently focus on your tank duties, my personal experience with PUG is that quite often it's more beneficial to the whole group to sacrifice some of your survivability in order to dish out more damage even when you are a tank.

on PC we have several addons that allow switching equipment and skills with just one hotkey, so it's easy to alternate between a set that favor tanking ability and a set that provide more dps even in the middle of the pledge run.

i use two sets of gear for my stam sorc when i PUG vet pledges as tank:

on both setups i use Pierce Armor and Heroic Slash to taunt and apply debuff, Critical Surge + Hurricane to self heal and increase defense, Dark Deal to restore health and stamina.

Set 1: Bloodspawn + Ebon + Pariah. Sword and Shield on both bar. Echoing Vigor, Turn Undead, Bone Shield, Aggressive Warhorn, for better survivability and better group support.
Set 2: Iceheart + TFS + Hunding's Rage. Sword and Shield front bar, Bow back bar. Poison Injection, Endless Hail, Rearming Trap, basically a stam dps with a taunt, and passable self heal and damage shield to survive trash mobs without a healer.

after pugging most of the non-DLC pledges with both gear sets, these are my personal opinions on gear choice for each dungeon (of course if you're a godly flawless conqueror you could tank all dungeons naked, i'm just an average tank who know generally what to do but make mistakes and fail some mechanics now and then)
  1. Banished Cells I - no significant burst damage from boss, go DPS
  2. Banished Cells II - need to keep multiple Daedroths alive for Hard Mode, go Heavy Armor. first mini-boss you may want to stand in stupid to tank it, to avoid fire aoe spreading everywhere (the fire doesn't disappear, the more you move around, the less space for dps to stay safe).
  3. Darkshade Caverns I - DPS should be fine
  4. Darkshade Caverns II - the two mini bosses (Netches and Sentinels) have large number of adds in their fights, some group might require a Heavy Armor tank to taunt as many of adds as possible. go DPS on final boss.
  5. Elden Hollow I - the growing Red Circle AOE from boss can one-shot non-tank. it's dodgeable, but go Heavy Armor for a more relaxing fight.
  6. Elden Hollow II - no significant burst damage, just go DPS
  7. Fungal Grotto I - the growing Red Circle hurt a lot. it's dodgeable but when you're tanking the boss at melee range, you don't have lots of room for mistake. Heavy Armor for relaxing fight (ie, none of the attack can one-shot you even if you fail to block).
  8. Fungal Grotto II - lots of mechanics that need fast DPS, and final boss just teleport around and throw AOE everywhere. you can't survive standing in stupid even in heavy, so go DPS.
  9. Spindleclutch I - the growing Red Circle and Arachnophobia can both one-shot non-tank. both dodgeable but it's harder when you're tanking the boss at melee range. go Heavy Armor so you can survive mistake, and help rez dps that failed to dodge the one-shots.
  10. Spindleclutch II - no significant burst damage from bosses, 2nd mini-boss is a dps race, 3rd boss's red circle is instant death if you touch it, just go DPS
  11. Wayrest Sewers I - heavy attack from boss can one-shot non-tank if unblocked. totally avoidable, but Heavy Armor allows you to survive mistake.
  12. Wayrest Sewers II - not tested yet
  13. Arx Corinium - cone attack from boss hurt a lot but dodgeable, and survivable if you are at full health when you get hit. fine to go DPS.
  14. Blackheart Haven - third boss First Mate Wavecutter has a channeled attack that can wipe the squishy dps if not interrputed, no mistake allow for this. there's no mechanics that you can overcome with high health and high resistance, just go DPS.
  15. Blessed Crucible - you can't stand and survive the lava attack no matter what gear you are in. no major mistake allowed for the lava attack (getting hurt once is fine, getting consecutive hit you'll die). heavy attack is survivable for non-tank if blocked. fine to go DPS, but Heavy Armor allows you to be careless with boss's heavy attack and focus on when the lava attack will happen.
  16. City of Ash I - no significant risk, just go DPS
  17. City of Ash II - not tested yet
  18. Crypt of Hearts I - no significant risk, just go DPS
  19. Crypt of Hearts II - hard mode require you to hold aggro of at least 4 adds without dealing too much damage to kill them. easier in Heavy Armor.
  20. Direfrost - final boss is sort of a dps race, the growing Red Circle is very avoidable after you learnt the mechanics so there's no real risk. easier fight in DPS gear.
  21. Selene’s Web - the green bear one-shot you no matter how heavy your armor is. no mistake is allowed for walking away from the bear attack, so high health is not very meaningful. go DPS.
  22. Tempest Island - the final boss does not follow taunt, you can't take all the damage on yourself. there's no advantage in not running away from growing Red Circle or in inviting the charge attack. just be a 3rd DPS who apply Pierce Armor and Heroic Slash.
  23. Vaults of Madness - the 2 AOE attacks from final boss is very easy to recognize and dodge from. you cannot survive standing in stupid anyway. go DPS.
  24. Volenfell - no significant risk with mini-bosses, the 2nd of which is even immune to taunt, just DPS until final boss. the green/yellow robot's heavy attack can one-shot non-tank if unblocked, and even if blocked, it can be lethal if the red robot's AOE happen to go near you. Heavy Armor will allow you to survive accidents and have a smoother fight.

Earthgore & Destro ult = The zergs crutch

Earthgore: The zerglings bandaid to making mistakes and wiping to less.

Destro ult: 1. press R with the other 7 destro monkeys you run in your 16+ man raid 2. Run around because you don’t know how to kill someone otherwise.

Destro ults and earthgore should both be tweaked or removed.

I’ve previously offered a change to destro making it more small scale or utility based.
Inferno: single target fireball that does x damage and burns the target for 8 seconds increasing your damage by 8% to the single target:
Lightning: conal disorient stun that deals x damage (mag db)
Ice: aoe frost clenches that ripple outwards snaring the enemy and dealing damage. Every ice ripple to hit the same enemy after the first deals % less than the last. (Ic ice atro boss)

Earthgore should cap on how many it can heal and for how much. Or simply removed for a new effect.

It’s far too easy to slot multiple earthgores in a large raid and completely negate outplays by other raids and or groups with significantly less numbers.

Yes you can bait out the proc. Yes I know don’t stand in the destro. Yes I know l2p.

The current meta is just unhealthy gameplay that is continuing to empower the many.

Next up: shuffle snare immunity and heavy, encase you didn’t know.

Epaulet/Pauldron Bug

After changing my character's gender with the appearance change token I've soon noticed that the majority of epaulets and pauldrons were grotesquely oversized in the crown store motif previews. At first I thought this was just a crown store issue since the size change wasn't very apparent on the armor I'm using (medium Hollowjack), but I grew increasingly paranoid that the pauldrons I'm using were affected as well.
A moment ago I finally decided to test things and crafted the pauldrons that were simply the hugest when they shouldn't be - orsimer medium pauldron. This proves that it's not only a bug in the preview of the crown store, but one that affects my character as a whole. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Are the developers out of good ideas?

It seems like once or twice a week now I read about a skill being nerfed , but I never hear about skills being improved or cool new skills being added.

Are the devs not just in a rut where they are just going to nerf everyone into equality and nerf the game into oblivion? (some pun intended)

All the creative efforts now seem 100% focused on sellable items (housing/costumes) and adding new zones to keep people paying, but he core combat is just becoming plain vanilla for everyone. Plus no one stand up against nerfs that don't affect them, so no one stands up for them with the nerfhammer swings their way.

I don't begrudge zos making money, but if this is the route they keep going down it feels like we'll just be playing some cheap phone app style eso game soon

I've been waiting when someone will finally makes this thread but looks like people dont realize that fact or dont want to make it public. This weapon is strong everyone knows that maybe even too strong tbh. In PvP You can charge up to 30-40 ultimate just for executing player which means You can get even 50-70 ultimnate for killing enemie with all passives related to this. Everyone can imagine how strong posibilities it can create for certain builds.

Knowing this it's completly stupid that difference between Perfected and non Perfected weapon is arounf 7% when difference between for example destro staffs is 50% I dont know where is logic here. Non perfected weapon is almost same strong as Perfected one and obtaining it is easy. There should be much higher difference between this 2 weapons or soon after DLC release we'll be flooded by new cancerous metas.

Will you PvP in a server filled with small scale PvPers only?

[VID] We finally did it! 12 Man BG Takeover

So the <Scrubs Anonymous> crew, together with some of our friends, managed to pull off a BG takeover last night. It took a while to synchronize the queues, but in the end we were successful. We managed to get all twelve of us into the same BG.

We had 12 people in the same discord channel. Three teams of four. The "Game mode" was capture the relic... but that isn't how we played it ;)

(Note: because all 12 of us know each other and are on opposite teams trying to kill each other, the amount of s^%$ talk is pretty insane. If you are offended easily please put the video on mute!)

This was, by far, the most fun I've ever had in a battlegrounds. I hope that in the future we can do something like this without having to perfectly time our queues.

EDIT: fixed video i think...

Would you like to see an Ayelid Skill line

$

I was just thinking that there are all these cool Ayelid wells around not getting much love so maybe introducing a small skill line would be good. My idea was that in delves each boss and chests would have a very small chance of dropping Ayelid crystals and by collecting enough of them you advance your Ayelid skill line. I'm thinking that the skill line would not be very big and be like the Soul Magic skill line with a few incidental passives and an ultimate ability. Passives may include Ayelid wells giving boosts to all your attributes and not just health and for longer durations. It would be a nice addition and would impact the player base positively.

Direct access to IC

Have to ride all the way in both of my campaigns, today. ZOS, when will you get it through your thick skulls that some of us have no interest in Cyro, and you are just p*ss*ng off your player base. Please give us direct access to IC! I am raising this as a bug, because it might as well be. There are a variety of reasons:

(1) Characters no longer remain in Cyro / IC, when you log out and log back in again, even if campaigns are not full. This is an acknowledged bug, still not fixed.

(2) With your server infrastructure as it is, many people report performance issues, at peak times, in Cyro, thus some of us seek refuge in IC. Fengrush isn't ranting for no reason. I can only agree.

(3) Some of us have no interest in large scale, full stop.

(4) Some of us don't like to ride, if/when we die. This is one of the things stopping me from playing in places like Bruma, aside from a lack of action. IC can be deserted too, but then there's lucrative boss farming to do.

(5) Some of us have PCs, or Internet access from different countries, that can't cope with large battles in Cyrodiil.

As an aside, in case you're thinking, "Well, maybe Battlegrounds is for this guy?", it is not. Any success I've had, there, has come in pre-composed groups with voice chat. I rarely play that way. It's just not me. I am primarily a solo player and I like playing in PUGs, in IC, with whoever happens to be around. I feel PUGs aren't really viable or enjoyable for BG. I am also strictly a CP player.

How many of you fellow PvPers will, in theory,

Join an empty campaign (in its current state) along with several other players for:
  • Small scale: Groups of 6 or 7 at max with focus on fighting. Running solo or duo would be best.
Not standing out in the opening and dueling. Not zerging.
Not running with min-max Templar healer/DD + Tank/DD DK. Just random builds complementing each other.
  • Balanced: No ult gen tank build spamming resto/S&B ult.
  • Serious: No time for hate tells or complaining/dictating in zone chat.
  • Accepting: Player says a goofy idea in Zone Chat that he is going to do (I think we should all attack Sej), staying silent and let him do it himself. Asking for an opinion is different.
  • Willing to run with new PvPers if you feel like teaching them.
  • Don't care about AP made at the end of the day. Fine with whatever AP you earned without zerging/farming.
  • Play as multiple small groups coordinating against similar enemy groups
(5x 4-player group vs. 3x 6-player group vs. 4x 4-player groups along side solo players independently fighting to control the map.
Known issues: Lack of incentives other than AP and the "thrill" of winning the fight).
  • Purely solo IC war zone in Sewers and City.
  • Be arrogant and elitist player and never speak a word to those beneath you but love to slaughter anything on your path SOLO without a healer or friend by your side?
  • Be a humble stamplar who just got your first impen gear and would like some AP but after reading countless forum post decided to never zerg, work your way to arrogance, dying few hundred times and run in small groups without a healer, no matter what?
  • L2PvP without complaining about certain builds, skills etc.
  • Not welcoming any player who constantly keeps spamming lfg or follows you to zerg.
A campaign where you can lure them to enemy players and can safely watch them devoured by enemies, AFTER you ask them not to follow you as a big clunky group.

Now, how many of you will be interested in joining such a server where 86 players home out of which 11 are active players (Keep flippers) across 3 alliance and multiple characters from same user account can be found in leader board of <100 players faction wise (Emperor has earned 48K AP and wears Sanctuary or Hircine's Veer gear. Really !?)

I am thinking to make a multi-alliance guild OR casual organisation where players focus Fighting in open world. Non CP is my choice, thus looking at Almalexia. The server seems almost dead to me. My question is will the guild be a success over time ? Will I get decent number of players (50) to play with who will be interested in playing so? I would like to know.

This is to happen in PC EU Almalexia, where if we could get a number of players we can dictate how we play. This post is to find out player interest in such a thing. I would love to organise this but before I go ahead I am asking players.

After all this chatter, Will you fight in a server where groups of 8+ will be shunned and driven away, but multiple independent groups of players, solo and duo players who have no intention of abusing min-max fight for the fun of PvP?

BACKSTORY ( Following rant can be ignored and skipped to the poll)
I am from PC EU. All my characters are EP and play in Sotha Sil. I spend/spent most of my time as solo. Rarely get into a duo. I do zerg surf sometimes. I run with a PvP guild's zerg. I don't take part in an AP tick which I do think I deserve (12+ players taking a resource after a keep is captured).

I have met pretty amazing opponents across various campaigns and pretty salty ones too. I absolutely began hating the thing Sotha Sil prime time has become. One to three places where the total server population is, not fighting, just casting skills until dead or need to regen. All just for AP. Few leaders (less than 10) leading the entire who just spam lfg until the leader rage quits for having grouped up with such an ungrateful team (50% of the times) and have no idea Alliance war group finder tool exist (I queue everyday, every minute. Never worked as intended once).

Most of the builds I have seen are creative and impressive. Ice staff sorc in Bahara's curse and Nerieth'thn, who always kills me 1v1 but could never line up both the set procs. Stamblade who hit me with 6K light attack crit and was a Flawless Conqueror, Light armor magblade who was tanking 7 players without Troll King or Earthgore while another magblade AoE bombed everyone attacking the tank. Several such interesting fights happen in Cyrodiil. However, prime time is getting boring.

I spend majority of my time in ESO running 4 player dungeons or PvPing or On IC topside, where you rarely get to fight a player or kill a farmer. Me and one AD stamblade (we both kind of hate each other even tho we just had one conversation) frequent there, fighting since day one of my IC experience. Randoms are rare and never show up the next day.

While Sotha Sil Cyro was lagging and zerging out bad, I cringed watching a group of 4 AD operating 14 siege to take over emperor keeps while 3 EP standby for them to finish Emperor flip and DC group is no where to be seen, in Almalexia. In another day inside Almalexia, there was 1 EP PvE-ing, me waiting for Sotha Sil queue (51+), looking for enemies and a random EP who ported here by mistake instead of porting to Kyne (we had a nice and long laugh before here left). I left queue, called few friends and searched the entire map for other players. Disappointed af.

Not gonna whine or rant for Zenimax to give us some incentive. Found a server big and lonely enough. I would love to get players who are like minded (I mean the points I mentioned above) together and start some fun PvP. A server where you realise thinking and collaborating individually to your liking and not ask to join a group to do anything.

Anyone interested?

New Crown Crate Lip Tints Remove Character's Eye Makeup

So this is my character in her default makeup:

kkG3FHo.png

I love the eyeliner but have long wished I could change the goth girl black lipstick. So I was actually pretty excited to find out we were getting a RED lip tint in the new crown crates this upcoming season. So today I opened my free crates and discovered that I got the Nocturnal Indigo Lip Tint. While not the color I wanted I was excited to see how it would look. Well, it looks like this:

F0PMurU.png
That's right, it REMOVES her EYE MAKEUP entirely. Note that she is also wearing the Subtle Dark Lashes from the crown store and THOSE do not remove her eye makeup OR her lipstick! So, buyer beware... these lip tints are pretty bad and for those of us who have hoped to be able to change our character's lipstick ALONE... this doesn't work. Indeed, I am wondering if this is unintended and if it will be fixed before ZOS actually starts charging money for them. @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom can you let us know? because if, like many problematical crown store releases that have flaws, it is NOT going to be corrected to where it does not alter the eye makeup I see no reason to purchase even one crate in hope of being able to get this item.

Change DK wings.

DK wings currently are incredibly useless thanks to it being nerfed badly. And if they ever fix permablocking, then DK has little defense outside of that.

Lets take a look:

In CP all light, it costs 3.4k mag. That is a lot. Wayy too much infact for what it does.

It has BOTH a time and a projectile limit. Comparing it to shields in time isn't fair due to it being projectile based.

Some status effects ignore the reflect.

Many projectiles ignore the reflect. The only two that have a basis is bird, a summon and meteor, an AoE. Everything else should be reflected.

What should be done: Make all projectiles that aren't the 2 above reflected. There are quite a few options after this.
  • Make it infinite projectiles for a short duration. Quite OP, due to no counters but has a high mag cost. Scales well against a group.
  • Make it Infinite duration and 4 projectiles. Can use all 4 projectiles, and won't need spamming, Countered by using light attacks or by multiple opponents
  • Add an extra bonus like warden. I suggest a snare removal+immunity, won't increase mobility greatly like expedition, (DK should be slightly slower) but would allow DKs something instead of shuffle/mist and to not be held down as easily. Replace the resistance morph.
  • Mildly dynamic. X duration, and X projectiles per person This way it would scale well without being OP in 1v1 (same as now, just bugfix'd) Maybe the amount of players could influence the duration too.

I personally prefer option 3/4 because they each offer something that won't be incredibly overpowered but handy to the DK toolkit of a slow, but consistent class that can deal with damage.
