I've searched for it online, and yet nobody seems to know for sure. I've seen numbers ranging from 32k to 33.1k, but what is the exact number? 32-32.5k (according to an old thread)? 32767 (max. 16 bit integer, implied by the character builder on uesp)? 33.1k (according to the MitigationPercent addon)?

Reason why I cannot link ESO account to Steam?
I've suddenly became rich on Steam today via selling the new PUBG loot crates and wanted to spend my hard-earned money on ESO, and to my horror I discovered that you are permanently barred from linking your ESO account to Steam if you originally had redeemed your activation key through the official website instead of Steam.
Now, don't get me wrong, that was basically a huge mistake on my part and my part alone for not originally doing it or even searching about it prior, but my original thought was that I didn't want Steam and its stupid overlay and other features to constantly interfere with my every other game, and especially ESO, so I opted to redeem it on ESO's site. BUT, there are many other games and/or apps I own on Steam, that DO allow you to link your account afterwards even though you originally played these games through their respective launchers, namely Spiral Knights, Dungeons & Dragons Online, Neverwinter, Star Trek Online, EVE Online, Defiance, Dragon Quest, Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition (originally on Windows Live), the twitch.tv app etc etc etc.
What I need though is, an EXPLANATION as to why I am not possible to do this simple transition. PC is a seperate gaming platform, exactly like PS4 and Xbox One are their own seperate platforms, and to split PC into the ESO Launcher category and the ESO Steam category is not only preposterous, but borderline mentally defective. Unless of course Zenimax is keen on forcing you to buy the SAME GAME TWICE just for a few extra dollars/euros/insert-any-other-irl-currency-here, which immediately shows a predatory corporate nature based solely on plain greed instead of a friendly seller-customer relationship.
I totally understand that when you provide any kind of product/service you are expected to make money off of it, but to SPLIT an ENTIRE community playing the SAME game on the SAME platform just for the sake of money is a sacrilege at best.

Separating Steam and ESO
Here is the deal. I want to separate my Steam and ESO accounts. I do not want my account to be linked with steam and need steam to log into it because on occasion Steam decides to mess up and for instance not find my game and force me to reinstall parts of it even though I can launch it just fine. It may be an issue with my PC but point is that I want my ESO to no longer be dependent on steam and I want to just log into it normally. Is that an option at all, to pull an account out of Steam?

[SPOILERS] Location of next chapter confirmed in datamined files
The dialogue for the quest that will lead you into the new chapter has been datamined. The last sentence confirms the location of the chapter. We knew this already because it was revealed in a somewhat cryptic message in CWC, but now it's confirmed:
There will be a prequel quest for Summerset chapter. Here's some datamined info (SPOILER!):
Vanus's enchanted boat deposited me near to where the Oracle dwells. The Oracle should be nearby. I should try to find her.
There's a Wyress inside the dwelling, but she isn't the Oracle. I should talk to her.
A Wyress thinks that Marieve may have sought shelter in an old Wyrd site inside the Mines of Khuras. I should use Vanus's enchanted boat to travel there.
I tracked Oracle Marieve to the old Wyrd site inside the Mines of Khuras, but she isn't here. She left a cryptic note for Vanus. I should use the medallion of summoning he provided and call him here. Maybe he'll notice something I missed.
I should talk to Vanus Galerion and find out what happens to the Oracle now.
The medallion of summoning brought Vanus to my location. I should show him the Oracle's note and see what he thinks.
Vanus believes the Oracle left a secret message in this cave and the key to unlocking it requires finding elemental items with some connection to air, earth, and water.
I should place the items that represent the elements of air, water, and earth in the proper ritual bowls. Vanus believes that will reveal a message from Oracle Marieve.
When I placed the items in the correct ritual bowls, a projection of Oracle Marieve appeared. I should talk to her.
Oracle Marieve thinks she's being taken to an Ayleid ruin in Auridon called Bewan. I should go to Bewan and attempt to rescue her.
Sea Elves overrun the ruins of Bewan. I need to get past them and find Oracle Marieve somewhere deeper within the ruins.
They forced the Oracle through a portal. I should enter the portal and follow her.
The Oracle appears trapped by some sort of Daedric magic and connected to the strange portal behind her. I should talk to her.
I need to defeat the weavers, break the binding pinions, and destroy the center fulcrum to set the Oracle free.
Marieve is free. She has enough energy to open a portal. We should leave Mephala's realm before the energy fades.
I should talk to Oracle Marieve in Skywatch and make sure she's all right.
Now that the binding pinions have been released, I need to destroy the center fulcrum to free the Oracle.
Daedra swarm around the Oracle's dwelling. I should investigate and figure out what's going on here.
I appear to be in Mephala's realm, the Spiral Skein. I need to look around and find Oracle Marieve.
Oracle Marieve sought shelter somewhere inside the Mines of Khuras, I need to find her.
Vanus arranged an enchanted boat to take me to where Marieve was last seen. I should find that boat near the docks.
Vanus Galerion claims to have a message for me from an Oracle. I should talk to him in the Mages Guild and see what this is all about.
I can use Vanus's enchanted boat to travel if I so choose.
After I activated the message stone, a projection of Vanus Galerion appeared before me. I should speak to the mage's projection.
I should talk to Vanus Galerion and let him know that the Oracle is safe now.
I should talk to Vanus Galerion and find out what happens to the Oracle now.
We'll show Marieve the hospitality of the Mages Guild and make sure she's fully recovered from her ordeal. Then I'll make sure to get her back home.$$Thanks for your aid in this matter. Now get to Summerset and do what you do best, my friend!

Nerf meridia’s blessed armor set
I’m sick of seeing more and more Dueling trolls using this over performing set.
In a 1v1 situation this set dominates everything in the game due to it completely ignoring all damage, all status effects, and all other CC’s of any kind for 5 seconds and occurs every 10 seconds while blocking. The percentage chance for it to proc is 33%. Which is almost a garunteed proc just for blocking.
Meridia's Blessed Armor Set
LEVEL 50 CHAMPION 160
(2 items) Adds 2975 Physical Resistance
(3 items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
(4 items) Adds 2975 Spell Resistance
(5 items) When you block an attack, you have a 33% chance to blind your attacker, causing them to miss all of their attacks for 5 seconds. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds.
*****If I can proc Valkyn Skoria with an 8 PERCENT chance and it hit almost every 4-5 seconds. Do you realize how many times someone is proccing the blessed armor of meridia’s set for a 33% chance every 10 seconds for 5 seconds? It’s almost up literally the entire time. The only time it’s not is when your opponent stops blocking because he can now damage you indiscriminately without a care in the world with his off damage set and monster sets of his own. But because he now an immune God Of tamriel while this stupid overpowered set is active your damage literally means nothing.*****
Fix this, add a 30 second cooldown and make it balanced

DK wings bugged AGAIN

DK wings are bugged in a new way. If you refresh wings before the 6 seconds of the first wings the amount of projectiles you can reflect is not refreshed. So if you reflect 3 projectiles then reuse wings before the 6 second timer you will only be able to reflect one more projectile. 100% reproducible please fix your game.

[PvP] mDK changes
Hello everyone,
Well, at this point in time we all know that you can spam 4-5 powerlashes on CC immune targets 'cause Powerlash doesn't consume offbalance unless it stuns your opponent. This is most likely not gonna make it to live as it is WAY to strong to be able to spam a high damage, undodgeable, healing skill for 0 cost. And honestly, mDKs need no further buffs apart from maybe reworking banner as an ult.
HOWEVER
We also aren't in a position where we can take nerfs. Therefore, when addressing this PLEASE be careful not to make Powerlash consume offbalance, 'cause at that point we'll have a 7s cooldown to proc powerlash again. I just feel that this might be the most obvious change, but this will result in a considerable nerf to mdks in pvp.
Lets think this through to find other possible solutions (I'll increase the list if we get some ideas in this thread):
Sincerely,
Quantum
OBS.: Thanks for the changes, ZoS. Overall really liked them, specially the AOE caps reversal! Keep it up!

Would you prefer First person or Third person view when playing MMO?
If you could only choose one mode, would you play MMO (shooter genre such as Destiny excluding) first person or third person mode? Assume that everyone else would be playing under the same view mode as you and therefore you would not suffer any disadvantage. I'm guessing that most will prefer third person view because that's what people are used to and of course due to aesthetic (can see your own char) and strategic advantages it provides.
However having played EQ in the early days of MMO I definitely miss the immersive aspect of first person view. For example having to look up to a huge giant for the first time was not only shocking, it jolted me with a flight response because well, penalty was losing xp and leaving all your gear behind on the corpse until you could retrieve it. If you do not retrieve your corpse in time everything on that body would simply disappear, so yes I most definitely ran like hell. I also remember going through a Minotaur maze where some of the mobs could see through invisibility, and you'd die if they caught you. No way you'd get your gear back if you died, but I did it anyway because I wanted to be one of the first to explore what was beyond the maze. That kind of intensity in first person view was well, pretty intense. I definitely miss it.

Housing Storage (My Thoughts and Idea)
As excited as I am, my mind can't help but be disappointed. I feel I am paying for just a second banker with a separate bank holding since all of my houses will share the same items of storage. I was hoping for separate storage on all of my houses. I get it, you want to make money off normal bank upgrades.
So here is my idea: ESO Plus members get double housing Storage increasing it from 360 to 720. You did it for our banking, I am sure it won't be a problem.

Against my better judgment, I will give this one last go. I believe that, for the most part, the discussions have been fun and enjoyable. I feel that I've gotten to know some people on other factions a bit, and it is cool being killed by someone you recognize!
Anyway, let's stick to talks of builds, funny stories (like the time I got jumped by 8 AD as I rode across the bridge and they bashed me to death as I fell out of my chair laughing), map strategy, which in game snacks you prefer, and of course... Ice trebs.

Are Nightblades seriously underpowered?
Hi everyone,
I started off playing ESO Morrowind about three weeks ago, my previous experience with ESO in general being its two-days Open Beta Test. Now, being a fan of TES since TES III: Morrowind from way back in 2003, and wanting to keep my personal tradition of picking Dunmer in every TES afterwards, and considering I also have a fair amount of experience in assassin-type classes in various other MMOs ( I have a lvl 60 Wood Elf Trickster Rogue in Neverwinter, a lvl 45 Stygian Assassin in Age of Conan, and a lvl 40 Mordesh Stalker in Wildstar) I decided that the Dark Elf Nightblade would be my ideal choice of race+class combo.
My general way of operating such a class is: invisibilty/stealth + an attack that deals critical damage on first hit after stealth = a good deal of initiative damage that would take a huge chunk off the enemy’s health bar, followed by further attacks and/or something to keep me alive if the enemy has proven to be too strong and has not died by then.
So, I mostly use the following skills.
Class Skills:
Shadow Cloak morphed to Shadowy Disguise (Shadow Skills)
Veiled Strike morphed to Surprise Attack (Shadow Skills)
Strife morphed to Swallow Soul (Siphoning skills)
Teleport Strike Morphed to Ambush (Assassination skills)
Consuming Darkness morphed to Bolstering Darkness ( Shadow skills – Ultimate)
Weapon Skills:
Puncture morphed to Pierce Armor (One-handed and Shield skills)
Twin Slashes morphed to Blood Craze (Dual Wield skills)
-I also took Bow skills as my secondary long range option-
Snipe morphed to Lethal Arrow (Bow skills)
Volley morphed to Endless Hail (Bow skills)
Scatter Shot morphed to Magnum Shot (Bow skills)
I raised my count of Skill Points to spend in the above Skills by locating Sky Shards, and am currently lvl 24. Maybe it is still too early to judge, but I’ve had the following experiences so far, in both the PvE and PvP aspects of the game:
In PvE, since the very beginning, I am always struggling to kill River Trolls and Hungers, which I assume are the most powerful Daedra in early game overworld. I feel like I am not dealing enough damage to them per hit, although with the current skills I use, I apply multiple debuffs to them, while buffing my healing back. Even though I constantly spam Puncture-Veiled Strike-Swallow Soul, a River Troll deals from 4k to 6k damage with its skills, while a Hunger deals from 6k to 10k if it also manages to grab me, whereas my total health as of now is 21k. I started off with medium armor for the Critical Rating passive, but turned to Heavy Armor (the Warrior-Poet full set) for the extra armor just to keep myself alive.
Compared to my secondary character, a lvl 6 Orsimer Dragonknight that uses Uppercut/Wrecking Blow, Dragon Leap/Ferocious Leap, Spiked Armor/Hardened Armor, Dark Talons/Choking Talons, I feel like my Nightblade is a total sucker. It takes a total of 3-4 minutes and a great risk of painful death to kill a River Troll, and where the Orc deals 8k damage with one Uppercut, the Nightblade deals maximum 4.5k with a Veiled Strike, without calculating the initial 14k critical from stealth. If I manage to slay the Troll, if I’m lucky and it doesn’t start spamming its most powerful attack, Rend, that deals 4k constantly, I always find myself, barely surviving with 35%-25% HP. Meanwhile the Orc doesn’t even break a sweat, ending the fight in 1.5’- 2’ with 85%-75% HP.
Finally, in PvP, yesterday I dueled the char of one of my irl friends, a by-then lvl 4 Orc Templar with my by-then lvl 22 Dunmer Nightblade, and despite the huge difference in level I had, it felt like I was hitting a brick wall with bare hands. I started critically hit him from stealth for 14k initial damage, then Punctured and Veiled Striked him, then fell back and Lethal Arrowed him, and continued fighting him melee within my Endless Hail. In the end, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I dropped dead, and the Orc had 75% HP still left. After me, the Orc dueled another friend’s Nightblade that by-then was lvl 18 and we witnessed the same results.
I literally cannot understand if it is the class itself that is underpowered, or I chose completely underpowered skills/combos to use. What are your thoughts ?
The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

AOE Caps are gone, Praise The 8!
I can't believe it, the time has finally arrived; the death of AOE caps. This has been a plague to the games health in terms of lag and overall balance of group gameplay and dynamics. No longer are the days of ball groups rolling around at the speed of sound with no consequence for stacking their armies into one confined area. No longer are the days of winning fights simply because you have greater damage reductions from AOE reductions due to your group size. This is the first major step to incentivising smart and tactical play.
Instead of "stack on crown", it will be "spilt up into organised smaller groups that can communicate so we don't get whooped by their aoes". Finally, the age of skill and tactical play are upon us. Thank you so much for doing this. @ZOS
