Unplayable Classes

Are there any classes (or class specs) that you just cannot bring yourself to play? For example, I cannot for the life of me, bring myself to play a magplar. I have one of every class (two of NB and Sorc each), except Templar. It just seems like such a boring class, always spamming jabs and occasionally BoL. Maybe if we had spear weapons or something I would make one, but for now? Nah, no way. Maybe you can love playing all stam specs except for...uhhh...stam warden. Maybe you love all magic classes except magplar.

Does the guild system need some love/work?

In my opinion the guild system could use some love/work.
I will list some things that I think should be in a game which involves guilds.
Please do come with more suggestions if you got any.

1-Online/offline
Right now I am using an addon to get notified when members come online/goes offline. Why not just implement this feature in the core game. Have it so you can toggle it on/off for a guild or all guilds. I don't think you should have to get an addon for such a basic feature in a guild.

2-Promote/demote
It would be very nice if it posted in guild chat when you promote/demote someone.

3-Mass mail
Why not give us an option to send a mail to all or selected members in the guild?
It is a good way to reach all members at once. Online or offline.

4-Guild bank
Oh yes... Why oh why is it either ALL ACCESS or NO ACCESS?
How can you ever trust people enough to give them full access to a guild bank? Sure there are some people you can trust that much, but this is still internet.
Give us an option to set a limit on how many items one person can take out per day or week. I want all of my members to be able to get some things from the bank, like potions, buff food or even gear. But right now the risk that some random jerk can come and clean out the bank is too high, and ruins it for everyone.

Per the patch notes:
Fixed an issue that caused some Undaunted shoulder chest rewards to be tradeable with party members.

Players who took advantage of this unintended bug (exploit) should be punished just like the players who exploited experience gains.

I know ZoS said they were working on this the day after the patch came out but guys, come on.

Leaving my house in Vvardenfell, I could go make a coffee drink it and make another one it feels like.
Then I travel to Davon's Watch - almost instant every time. Clockwork City - 40secs minimum. All the DLC area's DB / TG / CC / Wrothgar and of course Morrowing seem to be obscenely slow.

Loading screens are taking up to 90 seconds and it is not my PC or internet connection.
i7-8700k / GTX 1080 Watercooled / Windows and Game are BOTH on SSD. 35Mbps Download / 25Mbps Ipload

Grim Focus/Merciless Resolve/Assassin's Will counter being awkward

Before I upload a video to show this, I'd like to check if other people have noticed an odd behaviour of this skill and its various morphs (Nightblade).

Before the Dragon Bones patch, the counter on the skill would increase by one each time a light attack was FIRED (example, the tiny fireball from an inferno staff leaves the staff and begins its flight toward the target). After the newest update, I felt like the counter behaves awkwardly: I thought that the game was registering one tick of the counter once the projectile hit the target, but that's not the case. Simply put, the control on when the counter increases is not based on when the light attack is fired but on something else that I have yet to grasp. Has anyone else witnessed this problem? Could we get a reversion of the counter to an increase of 1 every time the light attack is fired, as it feels way more consistent in an already difficult rotation such as the Nightblade's one, where missing one LA or in general having Assassin's Will not firing when it's time greatly reduces our performance?

Hello everyone ! So happy to finally publish my DK Tank build . This is made for end game content such as veteran HM trials and will obviously work in 4 man content as well even though there are better setups for them . This is not a starter build , might be difficult to use as a beginner player . Anyway , let's start !

RACE

I am an Imperial because I like having high stat pools . Argonian is slightly tankier and has better sustain , not really necessary though . You can tank with any race , choose whichever you want .

ATTRIBUTES

64 Health . You want as much Health as possible . Being an Imperial boosts your Health even higher so you can get an insane Health pool without having to use selfish Max Health gear .

MUNDUS , FOOD AND POTIONS

Lord Mundus as we don't need Magicka Recovery due to Balance .
Tri-Stat purple food for being able to use skills in a row without running out .
Speed + Stamina Return potions for Movement Speed , faster stacking and easy dodging out of red areas .

GEAR

I am running full Heavy for max resistances . Tanks do not benefit a lot from Undaunted passive since Stat pools are already low .

5 Ebon Armory : Classic 5 piece every tank should have . Amazing for group survivability , prevents one-shots . Switch to Torug's Pact for Asylum with same traits and same enchants .

Chest (Sturdy) : Tri-Stat Enchant
Legs (Sturdy) : Tri-Stat Enchant
Hands (Sturdy) : Tri-Stat Enchant
Waist (Sturdy) : Tri-Stat Enchant
Feet (Sturdy) : Tri-Stat Enchant

5 Roar of Alkosh : Best tanking set at the moment , especially after synergy fixes . Increases group DPS by quite a lot .

Jewelry : Full Shield-Play or 1 Shield-Play + 2 Stamina Cost Reduction
1h Sword (Infused) : Crusher
Shield (Sturdy) : Max Health
Lightning Staff on back bar (Charged) : Shock Enchant or Infused with Weakening

2 Thurvokun : One of the new Monster Sets that drop from Fang Lair . It creates a very big AOE that applies Minor Maim . Has better radius compared to Choking Talons and procs on when close to the enemy . So you don't get a useless proc while trying to stack enemies . Use Lord Warden in single target fights with same traits and same enchants . I also use Earthgore in Asylum for emergency heals .

Head (Sturdy) : Tri-Stat Enchant
Shoulder (Sturdy) : Tri-Stat Enchant

SKILLS

One Handed and Shield :

1- Pierce Armor : Melee taunt . Applies best debuffs in the game with a single button .
2- Heroic Slash : Minor Heroism and Minor Maim . Always keep it up .
3- Igneous Shield : Stamina and Ultimate return tool . Also gives Minor Brutality to group .
4- Balance : Deals around 5k damage but gives 3k Magicka . Also gives Major Resolve and Major Ward . Basically infinite sustain for DK tanks as long as you are getting healed .
5- Engulfing Flames : One of the best debuffs in the game . Keep it up all the time .
Ultimate- Aggressive Horn : Best Ultimate for a tank to use . Major Force and 10% Stat boost for everyone .

Lightning Staff :

1- Green Dragon Blood : Minor Vitality and Burning Heart , resulting in 20% Healing Taken . Also works as a emergency heal .
2- Inner Rage : Range taunt .
3- Lightning Blockade : Applies Off Balance and procs front bar enchant .
4- Flex Spot
5- Flex Spot
Ultimate- Magma Shell : Immortality .

Flex Spot Skills :

1- Unrelenting Grip : Good old chains . For stacking everything in one place .
2- Choking Talons : AOE Minor Maim and AOE root .
3- Dragon Fire Scale : Aetherian Archieve 3rd boss and for capacitors in Halls of Fabrication .
4- Deep Breath : AOE interrupt .
5- Shielded Assault : For Assembly General .
6- Absorb Magic : For Rakkhat if you have survivability issues .
7- Crushing Shock : Ranged interrupt .
8- Structured Entropy : 8% Max Health bonus for survivability if you need .
9- Energy Orb : Resource support for your group members and an Alkosh proc for your off tank .
10- Retreating Maneuver : Speed buff for speed runs .
11- Echoing Vigor : Some heals for yourself and group members .
12- Efficient Purge : A necessity in many trials .
13- Stalwart Guard : For boosting DPS of a single Magicka DD .

Outfit System Feedback

The outfit system is a much needed update! However, there are some things that are simply unfair:
  1. You put all this work into an outfit only to have your guild tabard ruin it. Would it be possible to just add a setting to hide the guild tabard? I want to support my guild and have the name show with my character name. I just don't want a tabard to cover my outfit. I honestly can't see why this setting doesn't exists since we have a "hide helmet" option right now.
  2. If that didn't burn enough, then you have to collect all of the motifs on your other characters to create the outfits again... Can we just make motifs account-wide? It's a lot of effort and gold to collect these. Most people have a "main" character where they get all of the achievements and collect all things. I feel like motifs are a lot like the color swatches in this regard. Thanks @Naomi_K for the update <3
  3. If all of the above wasn't infuriating enough, you pay 1500 crowns for a new outfit slot which isn't so bad in the grand scheme of things UNTIL I found out that it's PER character...

(I am taking someones suggestion and making this a Mega Thread for the whole series. :) )

Prefer cosmetic items to ones that actually grant armor? Do you loot during combat? Do people frequently leave your voip channel when you join? Do you frequently AFK during raids? Do you have absolutely no idea how to play your class? Perhaps you are one of the "Differently Geared".

What could possibly go wrong with a husband and wife, some siblings, and some close family friends when they play a game together? The "Differently Geared" shows you.

"Differently Geared": /noun/ a politically correct phrase used to describe a group of individuals who are challenged in completing group content to obtain end game gear.

Grim Focus / Merciless Resolve - When to trigger it with the new patch (RANGED NB)

Hi all.
I noticed how after the Dragon Bones update the Grim Focus counter for ranged weapons does not increase upon firing the staff / bow, but rather when the projectile hits the target (or.. some other wonky case. I couldn't really get the grasp of it, the counter feels rather odd). Given this, and given that animation cancelling through light attacks is very important for any NB, when do you guys fire your assassin's will now? Do you wait those 0.2 secs for the 5th attack to hit, then fire the AW or do you go for la-skill-AW proc?
Please help me getting the grasp of this as my DPS feels way sub-par after this bug. Thank you!

specifically, for the combat cloud portion of the add-on.

i recently got the Betty Netch ability for Warden and when i use it, it's very... spammy. i know there's an option to turn off Resource Gain, but, i want to see other sources of magicka/stamina gain. i just don't wanna see all the spam from Betty Netch. i looked through the add-on, but, i don't see any method to thresh hold it like you can with damage/healing nor do i see a filter, unless i'm missing something. anyone know if there is a way?

weapon glow effects should become a outfit system feature if moondancer weapons are not reverted to glowing in an outfit.

Where to prioritize skill points?

I am still fairly new to this game and am just getting into crafting. Right now, I am working on leveling blacksmithing, clothing, woodworking, and enchanting for a character. Unfortunately, I didn't start getting into these skills until right around level 50 with this character, so gaining new skill points won't come as quickly for me as it would have previously. Therefore, I am wondering how I should be prioritizing skill points. For example, with blacksmithing, should my focus on adding points to Metal Working or to other aspects of this skills such as Temper Expertise? Similarly, with clothing, should the focus be on advancing Tailoring or Tannin Expertise? If I will not have enough skill points left in the game to maximize use of these abilities for this character, then perhaps it is best just to focus on advancing them with a new character. Thank you very much!

I really cannot understand the thought process behind having a long distance execution ability that is undodgeable to top it off and then add ability to have damage shields that in 1v1 encounters there is almost no point to even bother. I have been paying close eye to the death report details, about 8 out of 10 times when I die in Cyrodiil campaign is to endless fury explosion. I agree that every class needs to have their bs to make them strong somewhere but there is a limit there, like nightblades have their clo... oh wait sorc takes that away too with huge hit box unavoidable stun attack that takes a lot of space.

My two cents that is really the only thing about pvp I have grown to dislike, is mag sorc. Too tanky for 1 button press spam (oblivion enchantment doesn't hit +15k to take them out so don't even bother with that, stuns are not frequent enough to stop them from moving all together and they got insane surge to escape if things seem going south)

Once again new DLC is here and...

- No improvements on performance at all, it actually went the other way around...
- Old bugs came back, and of course new ones showed up.

Well, those two I believe any player that has been playing for a while knows about it. But lets talk about:

1) Massive amount of Snipers & Gankers, that magicaly showed up. (Only reason so many people runned "Miat's" type of addon) Well, seems ZOS will have to find a way to deal with this absurd empowered +10k snipes from 41m away (And yes, before you start trolling about get better or get more impen, I can make it hit that hard on 3k impen targets in heavy).
2) So some patches ago ZOS decided to remove or nerf all available "proc sets". Now, we got at least 1 proc set that is by FAR worse then viper. Calurions Legacy.
ZOS how do you explain this absurd idea? Instead of being a stamina proc set, lets make a magicka viper!

We're about 5 months old but growing strong with 200+ members for a specialty guild, the goal is to have at least 400 travelable homes and you could be one of them!

Growth in crafting and an interest in decorating is what we're about.

We host decorating events, giveways, dungeon/farming/WB help, skyshard runs, & sometimes we get a trader.

Nocturnal is the Enemy?

In the Clockwork City dlc, Nocturnal is the main antagonist and is hinted to be part of an "evil" alliance of lesser Princes that include Clavicus Vile and possibly Mephala. But that doesn't match with previous lore that describes Nocturnal at all. Nor does it match how she behaved in previous games. Unlike the other two Princes, Nocturnal has never actively tried to interfere with the mortal realm. At least, not on the level of Clavicus Vile and Mephala. Nor has she shown to have a sadistic nature where she enjoys watching mortals suffer. All in all, it makes no sense that she would be a main antagonist.

Alright I’m a stamina Templar on Xbox NA and I struggle killing some of the mag dk’s o run into. I have good magicka sustain for a stamplar so I cleanse their dots a lot. I have shuffle to give a little bit of snare immunity, but when they fossilize me and line up a burst especially with v scoria I just have to use so many resources to recover. Any tips even though this is likely just an l2p issue

Clipping on Outfits is Very Annoying

The most prominent issues I've had with this is with the shoulders. Very few of them look right on your character. They are either way too far away from your body to look like armor or too low that they clip into your chest armor / character. On top of all of that, using personalities is making me go crazy because some of them the shoulders move with the character's arms and some they don't, see image below:

His arms are literally clipping through the shoulders just sitting their with the Telvanni Magister personality. I could show many more pictures of specific issues, if needed, but I think it's a wide spread issue that is not only affecting shoulders but belts as well. Half of them are sunk into my characters model depending on what chest style I'm wearing. What is the point of being able to mix and match styles if they clip into one another like crazy?
