PS4/NA (Cyro & IC): Vivec - This Must Be The Place...

yes, a very naive melody :)

initially I had tried to kick off the conversation with questions on a bunch of random topics...

love to fight, carry scrolls, gank, defend, attack, pour oil on folks, repair keep walls til your fingers bleed - this is your thread...

love hearing big and little battle stories, as well as observations concerning the interaction between the alliances in this campaign - who doesn't love a good bridge fight...

big IC fan...at this point i wanna apologize right now for anything weird or crazy i may have done in IC (or for any future stuff)...I'm pretty laid back in cyro - IC has a way of getting me fired up on occasion...

hmmmmm, is it really true cyro reveals whom you want to be, and, IC reveals who you truly are...

if you want - say what's up, and if you like - let us all know what's up...

anyhow - enjoy, and, happy gaming trails...

bonus question: if any one knows where the reference "loose tales" (spelt differently) comes from - you'll win...ummmm, my undying admiration?

Should ESO have weapons & Armor furnishings?

Weapons, Shields and Armor furnishings yes or no? Created this poll after someone said a poll should be made in my thread about weapons and Armor furnishings. My point behind this is what’s the point in owning a place like daggerfall overlook if you can’t have the illusion of an army or a suit of Armor silently guarding the hallways?
2nd Edit (replaced original edit with a clearer explanation): Also these weapons should have a place to store them so how bout weapon racks for weapons and dummies to hold the Armor? (forgot to add these in the poll)

If you could steal any ability in the game for your main, what would it be?

You have the opportunity to take any class ability from any class and use it on the character you are playing now.

The ability retains all of its original attributes (you can't make a magicka ability a stamina one) but you cannot bring over any class passives.

Personally, I'd love to have Biting Jabs on my Stam Sorc. Even without burning light, I feel like it would be an amazing damage tool in PVP, and given that Stam Sorc lacks any damagaging abilities of its own, I feel like it would be the strongest choice.

I want capes.

Why Can’t We Have Our Class Identities Back?

$

It’s beginning to become more and more clear that every single class outside of Nightblades has lost a huge piece of what made them special. No, this time a nerf Nightblades thread. So the vast majority of you can calm down. This is a thread asking the devs if the rest of the classes can have their “something special” returned to them.

Now look. I understand the counter argument is, “Champ, what are you talking about? Sorcs still can shield stack, and Templars can still spam heals like no tomorrow.” Yes, but not really. To those making that claim, you are correct. But you are also incorrect. A lot of the things about what made Templars special, are gone; or given to another class. A lot of what made Sorcs special were removed. A lot of what made DKs special was removed. And it’s like... Only Nightblades appear to still have that unique “thing” about them, that the devs absolutely refused to touch. Why? Because the vast majority of the player base mains then, understandably enough. And to go on and remove something that the majority of your consumers likes is like shooting yourself in the foot. Yes. I get it. But, why can’t everyone else still be unique and not so watered down?

Like... I look back at when VR14 was cap, and before Imperial City went live. That to me was when I can say there was true balance and class identity. No 2 classes felt or even played remotely similar. People can call those days chaotic and a mess all they want, but each and every class felt special and had their own unique gimmicks that made them stand out from the each other. And it’s like patch after patch, a big chunk from every class bar Nightblades gets ripped away. And I don’t understand why.

DK’s back then were known for incredible sustain, and even known for being the true front-line brawlers. The folks who got up in the mix, be it magicka or stamina. And could truly hold their ground when going toe-to-toe with people. Magicka or stamina. And while generating stamina while blocking was indeed a bit much, it still gave the class the identity of “the tank”. The class that is hard and grounded like stone.

Sorcerers back then were high-speed mages, that cast wards and put out high damage. But if caught with their shields down, and or pressured enough crumbled. They were the “masters of the arcane”, and were capable of high-speed combat and incredibly high burst damage. Yes being able to Bolt Escape without penalty, and having long durations on their shields were annoying within PvP environments. But, they still swiftly dealt with if tackled by people with strategy.

Templars. The people who would literally spear you to death, and or beam you from a block away. They were not to be screwed with or F’d with without extremely caution. They were the clerics that could kill, and demanded respect wherever you encountered them. Yes, them being able to heal for days was a bit crazy. And being able to beam you from miles away was definitely frustrating. But still. It too could have been managed without too much hassle, if proper care was taken when engaging in combat with them.

And Nightblades. The stealthy assassins who’d insta-gib you from seemingly out of nowhere. The class that made you become paranoid about straying too far from your group, if in PvP. And made you become weary of being solo in Cyrodiil. No pun intended, but they truly put fear into players from their swift and sneaky tactics. Yes the old version of cloak was incredibly annoying, as well as the other tools at their disposal. But, Nightblades back then had the cost of being incredibly fragile. Making the class extremely difficult to master be it magicka or stamina, and ultimately have to pick very wisely about which skills they were going to use.

Do you understand what I’m trying to get at it? Only Nightblades for the most part truly retained their sense of self identity. Where as patch after patch, every single class is losing what it is that makes them special. Their losing their shine. And I’m not asking for nerfs to any class, nor buffs to anyone. But can you all at ZOS PLEASE return the unique characteristics that you took away from every class? Please? It’s not even a matter about adjusting at this point, as things are becoming to the point where every class plays exactly the same as 1 another. And that’s bad. I mean, even in PvE it got so bad that a few patches ago Burning Spellweave was best-in-slot for every magicka-based class across the board. What in the hell, ZOS? Come on now. That’s not right. And while diversity is slowly returning, it seems like the damage is already done. And things are beginning to fall apart and break.

People can say how unbalanced and screwed up ESO was prior to the Imperial City update, but at least every single class was truly different in every single way. And they all had something which made them extremely annoying and or borderline overpowered. And that was what made each 1 of them special, and made those times in the past so memorable. Because through the imbalance and diversity, there was identity. And from those extreme differences of identity came balance. And from balance came happiness.

Healer's Awakening

A Walk among God's or demons,
Falling neither between light or dark,
A gradual decline for the darker arts,

A connection that should not be made.
Not meant to be, yet it's come to be,
A touch of darkness a bit of light, to make things all right.

Leveling rewards: fair for new players, but...

... they completely undermine the gratuitous time and effort that some of us have put into our CP720 toons. I'm not saying that I don't want this for new characters, but the fact is that we old farts aren't getting the rewards for continuing to play our primary characters. I recently looked at the list of rewards from level four onward, and I'm having... for lack of better words, extremely mixed yet bitter feelings about this.
  • Level 7 gets a free bag space upgrade. In my year of playing ESO, I have never received a free bag upgrade. 1000 crowns.
  • Level 10 gets a free mount. I feel that this is relatively fair.
  • Level 18 gets a free storage coffer. This is problematic. Assuming that you have no crowns, you would have to buy the 1500 crown pack for $14.99, which equates to a ratio of 100.067 crowns per dollar. Essentially, if you hit level 18, you get $10 just for playing the game. 1000 crowns.
  • Level 20 gets a free costume of choice AND a crown crate. I'm somewhat skeptical, but I can see its purpose. Most of us have gotten free crown crates during the recent events in which we have to log in and kill something, or simply log in. I don't mind a free crown crate for just experiencing the game. But the rest of us never got one outside of a time crunched five-day event which may have been otherwise inaccessible due to life's inconsistencies, and these new players are able to claim them in their own spare time just for leveling at their own pace. This whole system is starting to sound dreadfully like a supplemental cash grab for character slot tokens, or just a word-of-mouth incentive to draw in new players via the "hey, you get stuff from the paystore as you level" model. 400 crowns for crate + 500 crowns for the costume because I want to assume frugality.
  • Level 24 gets a free pet. No big problem for me, considering a pet doesn't have a chance of giving you a rare mount or crafting motif. 700 crowns.
  • Level 30 gets another crown crate. 400 more crowns.
  • Level 40 gets a free crafting motif. Considering that I've never actually seen this motif before, this seems like a step out of bounds. Who else actually has access to this motif? Can it be bought, sold, traded, or dropped? If not, why do only fresh 40's get it?
  • Level 43 gets one skill and one attribute respec scroll. Almost like getting four crates. 1400 crowns.
  • Level 46 gets five crown mimic stones. 600/12 = 50 crowns apiece = 250 crowns.
  • Level 49 gets a crown experience scroll. Generally 1000 crowns.
  • Level 50 gets another crown crate. 400 crowns.

The total crown expenditure on these new players is 7,050 crowns, which is what Zenimax owes its players who have already gone through the hours of questing, delving, repetitive dailies, instances, trials, alliance war, etc. These new players are being rewarded handsomely for leveling, not to mention being ASSISTED the entire way as well! This is a dangerous precedent, because it rewards higher rewards for lower levels of thought (based on experience, of course) actually required to build a character. So if these new players are benefiting specifically for the fortuitous act of joining the game at a later date than most of us, then why aren't we getting retroactively rewarded for the time that we've already invested in the game?

Would a resto staff work with a stam build?

I was thinking 2h front bar and resto back bar. Of course the staff would be from a stam set. Vigor would still be my main heal but I would get the extra healing benefits of having a resto staff equipped. Plus maybe throw in a resto ability on the bar as well. What do you all think?

RACE PASSIVES - A comprehensive and well researched suggestion

$

I have seen a lot of people complain that they are stuck to certain roles depending on their race. I agree, so I have done some research on racial passives and I believe I have found a simple solution that would be easy to implement and should make players happy. In short... RACIAL TYPES! I suggest having TWO types of each race: One with a stamina emphasis, one with a magic emphasis. This could be implemented either as a bound on creation passive system or it could be made to work just like Werewolf and Vampire skill lines that only allow you to unlock the ones while you are that "Type". For example you would have to go to a shrine similar to the skill and attribute ones and pay a hefty fee to change your "Type". As for what new passives should be given for each race's new type, I have some suggestions which I will list below along with the original passives. ~~~ Let me know your thoughts

is this the new trend? are people really putting a big deal on reaching the cp cap rather than actually knowing and playing the mechanics of the game?

I d rather have a cp300 than a cp720 that doesnt even know how "bash" works!!

I swear everytime a saw a bunch of cp720 half of them still thinks that bashing requires a sheild!

720CP in 4 years cp cap is 3600 !

Do you think we should have or will ever have a way to view our characters off line or on the web site? What would you like to see if ZoS implemented something like this? I would like to see current slotted gear and a player skill tree.

Many progression guilds advertise they need DPS "> 35K". Good bye sorcs?

$

It's some days I am looking for a decent (not necessarily top) trials progression guild.
Most of those that are above mediocre, demand DPS > 35K.

Maybe they aren't aware that before Dragon Bones, you'd have basically Youtubers (using cheese parse builds) and end game fully geared, skilled players being able to achieve that.
It was perhaps 1% of the DPS playerbase, considering an abysmally tiny amount of people run veteran+ trials anyway.

Since several months, mag sorcs have received a number of nerfs, and since Dragon Bones, mag sorcs have lost again from 2 to 5k DPS due to off-balance changes.

Basically now Youtubers barely break 36-37k - and they are still using cheese builds nobody can use in trials. What about the others? Whereas I know a LOT of nightblades in my guilds who boast their 44k+ self buffed DPS, I don'tknow A SINGLE sorc spamming anything. The average do 25k even on veteran, the good ones do 30k, the top ones 35k => an handful of them.

Coming to this forum, all you see are NBs showing their 40k DPS peformance asking how to increase it, others who post a video of their 44k+.
And plenty of "I can't get to 25k DPS" sorc threads, with people giving advice about how to scratch 30k. In the last weeks I have found all of 1 (one) guy showing a video of himself doing > 35k DPS.

So, my question is: after Dragon Bones, if you want to join a good progression guild you basically have to shelve your mag sorc and join as "stam something" or a magblade?

Because there are more progression guilds than mag sorcs able to fulfill their minimum DPS requirement.

P.S. I expect this post to get either totally ignored (@ZOS_GinaBruno please prove me wrong) or flamed.

Before you flame, prove me you are real.
Post your Dragon Bones, non cheese, non Lover stone 40K DPS video on your sorc and then come school me.

There should be an alternate way to get the Fortified Coffer

$

I'd like to express my extreme displeasure at the fact that the ONLY way to get the eighth fortified coffer is through the level 18 rewards. I already have all 8 character slots filled with max level characters, all of whom I've spent gold and time and materials completing their riding lessons, leveling up their crafting, skyshard hunting for skill points, farming for equipment and motifs, etc. My choices are to delete one of my leveled characters, or spend 1500 crowns on an additional character slot in order to get a 1000 crown coffer. I think the level rewards are a great idea, but I don't think it's fair to us veteran players to have them be exclusive to leveling up.

Twilight Matriarch is terrible and useless

I read somewhere that this pet is supposed to be good for healing a group! The tooltip seems to agree. Decent size heal for two people at once, awesome. The only problem is that every single time you try to use the Twilight Matriarch heal, the stupid pet is dead.

I learned this the hard way. Oh, my group is taking damage? Better cast that pet heal. Wait, why am I recasting my pet? Oh yeah, he died. Again. He decided to agro literally everything because he thinks he's both a tank and a dps at the same time.

In other games, pets are generally immune to red circles, boss mechanics, or anything else that might instagib them because their AI is stupid. And you can make them passive so they don't try to make friends with literally every enemy npc within a square kilometer. In ESO, they're kamikaze pilots whose sole purpose seems to be to die to everything.

This might be a little bit easier if I could somehow see my pet's health with some sort of.. static pet health bar. ESO doesn't seem to have that either.

??????

Make Twilight Matriarch Great Again, if it ever was.

Werewolf Theorycrafting (PvP)

Became a little inspired when I saw a few theorycrafting-threads here on the forums and decided to start another one, but this time about werewolf-gameplay in PvP. There´s a great guide/thread about werewolf which you can find here:

https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/384516/ebony-wolf-pack-werewolf-101/

However, it would be interesting to see what insights the community has regarding these creatures and what we can do to help/improve. To narrow it down a little bit I thought it could be good to have some questions to work with:

* What assets do we´ve in order to dps/deal damage, and how can it be improved?

* How can we make sure we´re tanky enough to stay alive in a fight?

* How do you tackle sustain (both magicka and stamina) as a werewolf?

* How much can you trade damage for survivability and still be effective? (Damage VS Sustain VS Tankiness)

* Werewolf VS other classes? How to handle certain classes while in WW-form.

* Group-play VS Solo?

Try to include as much as possible. Everything from gear, potions, poisons, enchants, class, race etc.....

Try to keep this thread a theorycrafting thread and not a "nerf/buff"- thread (unless it´s relevant for the topic)

OMG have you seen this?! Very funny video
