Chat Channels Still Disappearing on Xbox

$

When trying to switch in-game voice chat channels there is a very good chance that trying to join the channel will cause it to disappear from the list and the only way to fix is to re-log. Myself, and friends/guild-mates are constantly losing chat channels and have been since the CwC patch. There are threads from 4 months ago bringing this issue to your attention and yet it continues to go un-fixed. This is NOT a minor issue. Communication is key in this game for much of the content and anything that forces the player to re-log is a huge inconvenience. Please stop ignoring console players and please stop ignoring this issue. 4 months to fix something is absolutely wild and unheard of.

Why on earth am I forced to install this game on my c: drive?

Current year is 2018. 18 years ago it was absolute common to choose where you install a game. In fact in 2 decades I have never encountered a game that forced you to install on c:

Is there seriously no way to install this game on another drive?

Elemental Fury – PvE Heavy Attack DK Build (Summerset Ready)

titlenew.png

Do you play a Magicka Dragonknight? Do you want something else than the usual 5 BSW/ 4 Aether/ 2 Grothdarr/ 1 vMA Inferno Setup and still be raidmaterial?

Then this guide is for you! The Goal of this Build is to provide strong DPS on a Dragonknight while using shock and fire damage and Heavy Attacks with a Lightning Staff. I’ve tried several builds that use lightning staff heavy attacks on a DK, and while they are very survivable, sustainable and very easy to play, the single target DPS mostly suffered and I’ve never managed to get past the 30k sustained single target DPS parse (selfbuffed).

This build does exactly that while using only AoE skills, and in the right hands and raid setup, it can surpass 40k Single target DPS easily while giving your group a lot of utility that Dragonknights have. I’ve had a breeze in vDSA (46.5k score) and every vet trial with this, including vHoF HM, vMoL HM and Craglorn Hardmode Trials, no death runs for the DLC-Dungeons etc. I even got the Duelist Title with the vMA version. This build is flexible to the extent that you can do both a Melee or Ranged Version, depending on what you are assigned to within your group or what the dungeon or fight requires you to do. For solo play, the build requires minor tweaks, but I added a vMA build for people who'd like to get their safe weekly and the DK flawless conqueror as easy as possible.

Selfbuffed Stats:

9YjX6dT.jpg

Race:

Altmer or Dunmer. Dunmer gets 3% more out of the fire abilities than Altmer, and Altmer gets 2% more out of the shock abilities, so it doesn't make that much of a difference. I prefer Altmer for the regen and 1% more max magicka, plus you get better results in vMA and you have enough stamina due to undaunted infiltrator. Everything else is a DPS loss, after those two, Breton would be third.

Gear:

To understand the nature of heavy attacks, it is important to know that the Flat Damage Buff of the vMA lightning Staff Buffs every Tick of Lightning Staff Heavy Attacks and adds like 5k DPS to the Build. With summerset, we can use 2+5+5, so inflatable aether is very nice on this build. With this build in the group, everyone can go full fire build becasue infallible aether gives minor vulneriability. With the upcoming light attack meta we'll have less off-balance anyway, so we ight as well use aether.

Robust Target skeleton parse (alone, with Breach, without Ele Drain):

I8xKMV2.jpg

ASVIQ4i.jpg

Keep in mind that these are Robust target dummy parses. I can get more on a normal one, but i usually test on the big one so one can see the consistent base DPS that you can get in trials and factor in Sustain rather then a bursty 3m parse.

Also keep in mind that every single ability and attack except burning embers is full aoe here, and that i suck at remembering rotations and screwed them up quite often.

Big shoutout to all the Peeps who let me use those weird Builds in Endgame Content :*

The build is constantly in development, so any advice in how to improve it further (while staying outside the box please, I know what is BiS on mag dks) is welcome! I will update it continously.

I've installed this earlier today and its made a big difference to my game. Mostly positive I think - my addons have vanished from the game even though they are in the addon folder! Anyone else had this problem and if so - how did you fix it?

Library, Literature

Hi all,

My apologies if this has been suggested before. I haven't seen it mentioned prior.
If not, I would like to suggest that the books we purchase in volumes, be allowed to re stack in the volumes they were originally purchased in.

The individual books each take up one spot in your home, as well as your inventory, bank, or storage chests. When purchased, they are together in a complete stack. Sometimes, I buy an entire stack for just one book.

If at all possible, it would be fabulous if we could return our books back to their set when not in use.

I am considering using one home just for a library, but it would still be nice (again, if possible) to only have to "hold" one volume instead of let's say, ten individual books.

Also, on a side note, I want to thank ZOS again and all those who supported my post regarding adding the "activate/deactivate" feature to the Imperial Fountain!
And for all of the fabulous things they are doing to improve and expand Housing... It's wonderful to know that they really do listen to their customers and seem just as excited as we are to delve into this creative and inspiring world!

This picture says it all. We're going to Summerset. A place full of magicka-wielding Elves, magickal adventures and Psijic Order itself.

How is it that we are still NOT getting a 1 hand weapon + Magicka Focus/Rune/Orb skill-line for our characters? How is it that the promotional character, the AD hero, wields a sword with a green magicka orb in her other hand and can just shoot lightning out of it, while we have to use these dumb looking staves? Not to mention this could bring true hybrids more to life. Just imagine... a perfect combination of Melee Combat + Ranged Spells.

This is something I've ALWAYS WISHED FOR in MMOs and RPGs... Could we make this dream come true in the future ZoS? Could our favourite game get real battlemages instead of the pseudo-staff-wielding-battle-scrubs?

Pretty please? I don't even care if it's all recycled, slightly changed spells/abilities. Just let me have it!!!!!!!!!!!!

My point of view of Necromancers on the Lore

$

Greetings,

My name is Sr NeKro Dead’Singer. My sole objective is to pass the word of Necromancy on door to door.

In this post, I intend to give you my idea of Necromancer on my point of view WITH my knowledge of ESO lore.

It’s a difficult and delicate matter, as in this universe, even the god of Death despise Necromancers, but help me out by leaving the hatred out, and only constructed argument in? Mkay? Let’s keep it politically correct.

Definition:

What is Necromancy?

Well, if all games taught me something, is resurrection of the undead. In this case, is a branch of the school of Conjuration. Now, conjuration has tons of branches, to summon daedra to daedric weapons and armor. Necromancy is one of many branches this school has. It is the path that separates Necromancer to other mages.

Now, Necromancy has a lot of loose ends. They can bring back the souls from the Soul Cairn or they can call upon daedric spirits to inhabit fallen corpses. Or summon them directly from oblivion.

What is a Necromancer?

A Necromancer, is a master of Necromancy. But that’s not all. To achieve the rank of a Master, a Necromancer need to use other schools of magic as well, in order to protect themselves and making them, allies and their minions even stronger. Therefore, they use Restoration, Alteration, Illusion and Mysticism.

With Restoration and Alteration, not just Necromancers can reinforce their skin (and their allies) with protective buffs, but they can use it to tear the defenses of their enemies down. “Physically” decaying and dismantling their strengths and buffs. With the help of illusion and Mysticism, Necromancers can do a “magic” approach too. Giving all sort of “mental sickness” and illness to their foes, even causing them to fear in terror.

Plus, Restoration, Alteration and Mysticism together, can be a great help to “maintain”, “construct” and “evolve” new friends. And by friends, I mean Flesh Atronachs and more flesh abominations, besides the risen Skeletons, Spirits and Zombies.

Also, Restoration is important to a Necromancer as munch Necromancy. Since Restoration physically cures diseases and illness, a Necromancer can use it to inflict them. And for knowing how they work, with the help of Restoration, he can provide resistance to them.

Alignment:

Now, yes, I am against Necromancy when it’s used towards civilians and more innocent people. I wouldn’t want that to some of my friends and family. But, unfortunately, as you know, the world isn’t filled with honest and good people. If that was true, we wouldn’t need Necromancy at all, the light would suffice.
The world (both on Tamriel and principally on ours) is filled with… “bad” people. Idiocy has taken the best of them, making normal people on to murders, torturers and worse. Thus, the world is filled with sin. And they are too many, only the Light can not judge them all by itself. Plus, we got corruption. Light is not as pure as it once was. Light can close its eyes in time to time, letting bad people getting away.

And there, is when Darkness arrives, Necromancy. Why use Necromancy towards civilians, when we can use it on criminals? Also, their bodies will have their muscle reflexes, which will make them very good risen undead soldiers. And you did the good deed of the week. Because there is a lot of bad people who deserve a fate worse than Death.
Let’s look at Tamriel and pretend it is a real world. I can not believe that there would be a world where there wouldn’t be some good on evil and some evil on good. There must be a balance, and a Necromancer is that. A balance. They are neither a Hero nor a Villain. They are more like anti-heroes. Like Dead Pool.

Now, yes, we see a lot of Necromancers bad guys out there on ESO. But we also see Archers, Warriors, Dragon Knights, Sorcerers, Shamans, Nightblade and so on. We see every class as the bad guys, why Necromancer must be the black sheep? All the bad guys have the same “profession” as the good guys. They just preferred to use it on a “different” way. Why come Necromancer has to be the only class designated only for evil?!

It’s not the Necromancy that makes people evil. Is people who make themselves evil. Is the use of power that will deter if someone is evil, not the power itself. Like guns. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.

Mannimarco.

He is the ultimate villain, but let’s think for a second. They knew he was a Necromancer right? I am not a lore expert, but before he betrayed them, he was on the Five Companions. Maybe no one liked him, but they at least tolerate him, and the Emperor believed on him, until that happen. So, I am sorry to say this, but saying that all Necromancers are evil is racist. Just because, the lore and Arkay says that they are evil and everything, it’s not all of them. I am sure that there might be one or two that understands the power they are wielding and respect the dead and only uses Necromancy to aid the dead.

Usefulness:

And, why would someone want that?!

Necromancy can be very handy used in the right way. Calling down the fallen spirits to tell you the truth about history, as you know, history is only written by the winners… So, how would be the “losing side” point of view?.

Necromancy can turn the tide of the battle in mere seconds, as it turns the “casualties” on “fresh” reinforcement. Imagine yourself on a war zone. You look around and all you see is your friends and allies are getting horrible killed by the enemies. The enemy has some casualties as well. Wouldn’t Necromancy be handy? Turn the casualties of the enemy in to reinforcement to your side AND give a second chance to your fallen comrades to rise once more to defend your land/ideals, and more importantly, to avenge themselves? This sounds very noble to me. More noble than you avenged them. Because, by raising them, you are giving them the very chance to satiate their revenge on first hand.

As I said, and still pretending that Tamriel is a real world where progress and evolution exists, there may be already a Necropolis, a sacred city/order to the Necromancers, where they can study Necromancy at peace, already on the lore and they may be hidden, like Volkihar Clan of Skyrim on “Dawnguard” DLC.

Or-my favorite theory so far- why not “create” a Necropolis, now? Just because there isn’t one so far (if it there is really none), what stops us to create one now? Besides this blind hate towards Necromancers.

Soul gems.
Of course. We already can revive with soul gems. Yes we can. The difference is like everything else, quality. If you do the same thing over and over again, you increase your performance of doing something. For example, of course a Priest would do a better job at healing over a Mage. A Mage can cast a healing spell in time to time, but a Priest is always healing, therefore, of course a Priest would be more “professional” and better at healing than a Mage.
Besides, soul gems would be a reagent to some spells of Necromancy. Like, building Flesh Atronachs. Since the dead would be either risen the bodies with the help of Soul Cairn or summoning them from Oblivion like on the 4th Elder Scrolls.

In conclusion, even on The Elder Scrolls Lore, Necromancy is nothing in specific (yet or might never be). And since Tamriel and The Elder Scrolls are on constantly open developing, I can only hope that one day, Necromancers have the attention they deserve. Since they are a unique class. One that can provide benefits on both gameplay and lore.

Check my post about my point of views towards the Necromancer on ESO Mechanics.

How do you actually cast spells? I know that Magicka pours in from Aetherius and surrounds everything like the Force, but how does a mage reach out and use it?

A post from a graphics dev about progress on multicore and an FPS tip (from PTS forum)

$

I have no idea what of this pertains to Live vs PTS, hopefully he doesn't mind me posting it here. (I put some parts in bold)
PTS 1 doesn't have all of the performance improvements, there are a number of additional changes that are rolling out in upcoming PTS iterations. Quad-core machines (without hyperthreading) in particular should see a bump in the next PTS update. We're also tracking down and smoothing out hitching issues, specifically ones people encounter when running through cities and the FPS tanks abruptly for a few frames.

To give more technical details for those who are interested, you should not expect even distribution across your CPU cores after this update, just more distribution to the non-main-thread cores than you had before, especially at times when there are a lot of things loading in. Your main core thread will still be topping off, trying to go as fast as it can through each frame. For almost all of you, the bottleneck of your framerate is your CPU, not your GPU, so if you're not seeing high utilization of your GPU, it's most likely because the CPU-side of the game isn't keeping up.

Given that ESO originally had to support very old CPUs, it's no secret that it was written from the ground-up as an effectively single-threaded application. As time went on and the min-spec was updated, and with the launch of Tamriel Unlimited/XB1/PS4, it necessitated the ability to use multiple cores in order for the game to run well (as it should). The work started then and continues through the present.

It's been an ongoing process to shift work over to other cores (and to the GPU) where we can in order to make the game perform better, and the work involved in doing so is fairly complex. It's not something we can point to and say "make all cores do the same amount of work" (though that is the goal!), it's typically "this certain part of the update takes a long time, let's find a way to shift that work over to other cores." Doing that is almost always a bit of a challenge because we have to make sure the cores that do that work don't conflict with things other cores are doing, which can cause corruption, crashes, hangs, etc. We also have to ensure that the changes are positive across all the platforms as well, from the wide range of supported CPUs on Windows + Mac, to XB1 and PS4, so these changes have to come out incrementally to ensure we make the experience better across the board.

We have a lot more work to do here, and we will continue to make improvements. There's always something that can be made better.

PS: Pro tip, if you have a good GPU and have all your settings maxed but want higher performance, change your Reflection Quality to Low instead of Medium or High. "Low" reflections are actually using screen-space reflections, rather than heavy-duty planar reflections. Planar reflections are more accurate, but they're far harder on the CPU, whereas screen space reflections are almost entirely a GPU operation and should lighten the load on your CPU quite a bit.

Hey everyone,

Just a quick question about updating your game version from Standard Edition to Collector's Edition. I recently purchased the pre-purchase of the Collector's Edition Summerset Isle (which I'm freaking out about because it looks amazing!) and I noticed you get the Morrowind chapter for free which is so awesome on Bethesda's part!

I have the Imperial Edition of the base game and now the Collector's Edition of Summerset but only the base chapter of Morrowind. If I managed to get my hands on a copy/code for the Morrowind Collector's Edition could I apply it to my account and have my base game upgraded?

Huge fan of the game, would love all the cool things I didn't manage to get when Morrowind was first released, any help would be great!

Thanks
