i have been at it for well over a week now and on stage 9 boss fight, it is annoying but i will get it done. this journey has made me really hate playing though and has ruined my char for me... i have to take breaks every 10/15 mins doing vma to deal with ZOS *** me with *** game mechanics... i just want the 2H!... not another reason to pack up and leave this piece of BS they call a working MMO #ThisIsNotWorthIt

VMA has ruined this game for me

Congrats to Sabre Ali!!
Congrats to Sabre for winning the Legend Dueling Tournament. As defending champion it was also great to see him defend his title. He only plays about 5 hours a week so it was impressive to see him prevail against some of the more serious gamers!

ESO "Focus on Social" - Where is it? (Player Guild Features - Letter to ZOS)
Dear ZOS
Hi Everyone! Hope you're all doing well and as excited as I am about the upcoming DLC, The Dark Brotherhood!
This is a post I have been planning on making for a long time, and is really for the attention of the ESO development team, but I believe (and hope) that this will resonate with many of the ESO communities out there. I don't often make big forum posts like this, but this is a subject which I am very passionate about and is close to many communities hearts.
So first, a quick introduction:
I'm Bel, and I'm the guild leader of a large, social, casual, respectful, fun loving community called Alith. We've been going for 6 years now, and have been a presence on the EU server of ESO since beta days. We have 450+ active (yes, we don't have any inactive members..) and we're all fun loving ESO fans. We have organised daily PvE events (raids, social events, competitions), and also have our own ESO video podcast called Alith-Cast. You can check out our official site at http://alitheso.com. We were one of the very first guilds to submit our "Guild Spotlight" application sadly to this day, we never got a mention, anyway!
I wanted to give you guys some background about us, so you can understand how passionate we are about ESO - our guild is a 100% ESO guild, and we are ALL about community & family.
Which brings me onto the reason for this post:
The Elder Scrolls Online - Social & Community Features (or lack of)
I really want this to be a constructive feedback post and a desperate plea for help, and is in no way meant to be negative. This is also just my own personal opinions, but I know a lot of my community share these concerns.
I have been leading this community of ours for many years, and ESO has certainly been the game we have been most passionate about, and our guild has really loved calling this game our home. It's with great sadness, therefore, that I share my real disappointment with the severe lack of guild / community features in the game, in comparison to other MMO's out there.
Of all the MMO's our community has made home in, ESO has really been the weakest in catering for player guilds & encouraging us to create real family like communities. ESO fails in some really fundamental areas, core features which any MMO really needs, to help guilds to be the best they can be. There are also countless missed opportunities, that ZOS hasn't taken advantage of yet - the ESO world of Tamriel has some fantastic ways it could incorporate & support player guilds, but for whatever reasons, ZOS really has not given player guilds any priority and has really neglected this part of the game. Communities like ours are desperate, and in urgent need of support & help.
When I heard the news in Matt Firors "Year Ahead" article at the start of the year, with the title "Focus on Social". It was music to my ears, and I thought finally we're going to get some real needed guild / community features and finally we'll be able to really integrate our communities into the game, have fun rewarding ways to build our communities (like other MMO's have). 5 months in and.... nothing. (grouping tool improvements, are not community improvements).
So of course I want this feedback to be constructive, and specific. Therefore I want to take this opportunity to point out those missing fundamentals, and also share some really simple (and some more complex) ideas / suggestions that would SERIOUSLY help all us communities who are desperately trying to make the best guild experience we can:
Missing Guild Features & Suggestions:
So there is just a handful of examples of features which I feel could be considered for the game. Actually, some of the above I believe are very basic fundamentals (such as the cosmetic changes) which are SUPER important for us communities to actually FEEL like a community in ESO.
I really am struggling to understand, why after 5 months of the "Focus on Social" announcement, we STILL really don't have any significant additions to the game for us Player Guilds. Are player guilds just not important to ZOS? I'm really baffled. Some of these changes would not require a lot of work, and would not impact any other systems in game, but would make a HUGE difference for us communities.
I have no idea if anyone from ZOS will read this, but at the very least we hope there will be other guilds out there who share our pain, and at least can relate to our frustration.
Here at Alith, we love ESO, and we love the community here - we are simply desperate for some of these basic features (and certainly would love some of the more complex ones). Yes, the PEOPLE are what matter, and that's why our guild HAS thrived and succeeded - we have amazing people. But please ZOS give us something
That's all we're asking, to improve the quality of life for our communities and really help us player guilds to feel meaningful in the world of Tamriel while enabling us to interact with each other & the game in new and exciting ways.
There are another 6 months to go this year, ZOS, we are praying and trusting that you hear our plea!
The game is awesome, we just need a bit of Player Guild Love![:) :)]()
With appreciation & love

Therefore I want to take this opportunity to point out those missing fundamentals, and also share some really simple (and some more complex) ideas / suggestions that would SERIOUSLY help all us communities who are desperately trying to make the best guild experience we can:
Missing Guild Features & Suggestions:
- Server Guild Lists & Guild Recruitment Tools - nearly every MMO i've played has some basic way of viewing in game, all the guilds on the server, and some even have mechanics for you to apply to various guilds in game, and also read some basic information about the guilds, giving the players a way to read up on guilds & apply to them, in game. ESO doesn't have this.
- Guild Activities - Again, nearly every MMO we've played, has various activities in game, designed specifically for guilds. This includes, but isn't limited to guild quests which can be picked up and completed by guild members, which then generates rewards for guilds and their members. There are SO many ways ESO could incorporate this, and again would create a way for players to spend time in game, interacting with their guilds, and doing something which will benefit their guilds.
- Guild Event Calendar - granted this is certainly more complex, but again some MMO's we've played have a calendar system where officers of the guild can post up events planned for the guild, in game. Members can then view the events on the calendar in game, and even sign up to attend them. We could use this from anything from Trials Runs, Social Events, Competitions and so on.
- Guild Halls - So this is something that ZOS could easily implement alongside player housing. Create a system where players could gradually contribute towards a guild building (or purchasing) their own guild hall. The hall could then be a place for communities to meet up, and socialise, You could possibly have some additional special guild quests that you can only pick up from the hall, and hell you could even put some special crafting stations there
The possibilities are endless.
- Town & Village Capture / ownership - and I don't necessarily mean PvP! In some other MMO's i've played, there are guild systems in place where player guilds can actually capture various regions or towns in the world! By capturing the town, we could then decorate the town with our own guild branding (flags, banners etc..). There are various ways you could implement this - a popular vote election campaign (like Tera did very successfully), maybe tie it into guild questing (complete a certain amount of guild quests, and earn the chance to capture towns that way. Guilds could benefit from capturing a town by receiving a certain % of tax from all merchant transactions (and traders). Anyway, there are several various ways you could implement a town ownership system, and let's face it, Tamriel isn't lacking in towns or regions! It's also another game mechanic that will encourage your players to continue to revisit old areas!
- Guild Identity in game - Oh my, where do I start. Again ESO is seriously lacking in helping us guildies to FEEL like we're part of a community and be able to easily recognise fellow guildies. I hate to tell you but the tabard system is a very poor attempt at this. Most people don't want to cover up their shiny nice armour they worked so hard for, with bland basic guild tabards.... I could write a whole thread on guild identity features which are needed, but let me summarise with: 1. Allow us to filter the nameplates settings, so that we ONLY see nameplates above people who are IN our own guild - that way we can spot our fellow guildies out in the world easily - WITHOUT the "you must wear your tabard" condition, which defeats the object. 2. Allow us to upload our own custom guild logos / branding, so that our guilds REALLY stand out in the game, and let us display our guild logo next to our player nameplates, like most guilds do. I realise there is some immersion considerations here, but you can always allow the option to toggle on / off. The bland emblems that we currently have to choose from, just don't make our guilds stand out and don't give us that real sense of identity we need. 3. Give us other ways of identifying fellow guildies without it covering up all our armour (emblems on our shields? Capes? Guild Dye Colour Schemes? etc etc) and yes, we want to be able to display our guild branding at our guild hall and villages / towns we've captured haha. 4. Guild Leaderboards - again, a very easy way to recognise guilds achievements, you could have both PvP and PvE leaderboards, but it would work even better with the "guild questing" or reputation system I suggested earlier. There are loads of other ways you can improve guild identity in game, and these suggestions so far are just very basic and fundamental ones - food for thought.
- Guild Info section on official ESO website - as it says on the tin, why not have a dedicated area of your website where you can view, interact, and make contact with various guilds in game. A real community section which would show the guild management team, and other useful info about various guilds. And yes I know there is already a forum section for guilds, but that is really not what I am suggesting here
- Special Guild Vendors - you could tie this into the guild questing / reputation system, where player guilds can unlock special vendors which can be accessed by the guild to obtain rare & useful items! Again, multitude of ways you could incorporate this.
- Guild Ranks - why not allow us to "level up" our guild and have various guild ranks. The higher our guild level, the more features & benefits we can unlock for our members. You can make it very challenging to attain the levels, and again tie it into the guild quests giving our members another reason to keep doing the quests / activities.
- Other in game guild features - you could add some really simple but useful additions such as custom guild member polls that we can create, to allow our members to vote on various topics. Why not have some cool & special cosmetic additions that guild members of certain rank can access (like special mount armour for guild officers, or special capes for guild raid leaders, etc etc). There's just a lot of little simple quality of life changes that you could implement for guilds, which wouldn't require a lot of work.
- Guild vs Guild Wars - Ok, so even though I dislike PvP myself haha, I can certainly see the value in implementing some kind of PvP system for Guild vs Guild battles - again there are many many models out there of how you could could implement this, but its just another way of helping to create some guild pride & some friendly guild competition.
- Guild Note - I think you need to fix this, so that guild members can all update their "own" guild notes, but not others guild notes. Right now there is only an option to let EVERYONE change EVERYONE ELSES notes - but not "just" their own - doesn't work very well. As a result, in our guild, members have to "ask" an officer to change their own note for them, its very silly haha.
- Why not have some random "events" that happen in the world, similar to the dark anchors, but events that are specifically for player guilds to tackle & accomplish. Again lots of ways you could implement this, I won't go into specific examples, this thread is already quite long haha. In essence though, a reason for "Guilds" to go out into the world together, and achieve objectives (non PvP).
So there is just a handful of examples of features which I feel could be considered for the game. Actually, some of the above I believe are very basic fundamentals (such as the cosmetic changes) which are SUPER important for us communities to actually FEEL like a community in ESO.

Final: Craft Bags for ESO plus members only! Please, share your opinion about the rest of us.
Can there be any relief on the inventory restrictions for non ESO plus members? Some links to relevant polls included. Players and Developers agree that the Craft Bag should be an ESO plus exclusive. Option 1 means inventory rights for only ESO plus. By selecting 2,3, or 4, you support some sort of inventory increase that benefits everyone.

2.4.4. Notes feedback
Weapon
One Hand and Shield
Power Bash: Reverted most of the original changes to this ability and the Reverberating Bash morph.
Reduced the damage to match the current values on the Live megaservers.
Returned the stun and increased the duration of the stun to 3 seconds from 2 seconds.
Removed the disorient from this ability.
Power Slam: No changes were made to this morph. It removes the stun in exchange for significantly increased damage, with the option for additional damage after a blocked attack.
Nice to see there's a way to satisfy both crowds. I for one liked the addition of a decent damage ability from the shield line, but I know a lot of players were upset about the removal of the stun.
Werewolf
Werewolf Berserker (Werewolf Transformation morph): Updated the visuals for this morph so it now transforms you into a black-furred Werewolf with red eyes.
About bloody time, only been asking for this since pcbeta.
The Lady
Resilient: This champion passive has been switched with the Shield Expert passive from The Steed constellation.

Shield Expert: This champion passive has been switched with the Resilient passive from The Lady constellation.
Awesome change right here, now my tanks can actually get the shield boost without giving up the decent mitigation points.
overall it seems like zenimax is finally starting to open an ear to the testers and not just making blind changes while ignoring feedback. GJ.

CP are just not fair
Hello everyone i wanted to make this post about how 40 cp are being given to everyone with a vet 16 at DB release. How is this fair for the people with lower cp ?? Lets say someone is at around 100 cp. at this point it costs ~ 100k xp per CP , so ZOSE is giving those people around 4 million xp when DB releases. Keep in mind those people are already at a disadvantage because they have 400 cp less than people at the cap.
Now lets consider someone with say 500cp (way ahead of everyone and has a massive advantage over someone with say 100cp). 1 cp for them costs around 650,000 xp. So on DB , ZOSE is giving the players with 500+ cp, 26 million + champion xp . These people who are already at a much higher of an advantage in pvp are now getting even more of an advantage in terms of the cp theyre getting. When i get to 500 cp and the cap is raised, it will take me SOOOO much longer to get those 40 cp because it will take 26 million xp to get it, when the people who were already there at DB were just given the 26 million xp. Im stuck with my mediocre 4 million champion xp. How is this fair and how on earth do you expect me and hundreds of others to catch up to those with very high cp? @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_KaiSchober

Alternative to button mapping on consoles
I see alot of people (when it comes to custom mapping threads) say to get an elite controller or that the systems already allow you to change the layout. Sure, we can change the layout to an extent but we cant bypass having to block for core pvp mechanics. If this was just about conveinence i would understand the lack of attention giving to this issue. Its not just about conveinence though, the lack of button mapping has game-changing effects on the console version. La/ransack/bash just isnt a thing. I can literally stop my stam regen completely. You might be thinking "Well i dont use sword and board in pvp so this doesnt effect me.". Even if you play a magicka sorc or a 2h stam dk, everytime you roll youre losing out on stam regen that you wouldnt on pc. If we cant have button mapping can you please create a template that allows us to bash/dodge roll/cc break without having to use the block button? It certainly would be much appreciated.

Should Endgame Armor drop with Prosperous and Training Traits?
More information about this issue in This thread.
According to the testing done by @code65536 Undaunted shoulders drop in 7 traits (all except nirnhoned and impenetrable). What traits the helms drop in was unconfirmed but it is assumed they come in the same traits as the shoulders.
Note: I realize that there are other issues, such as whether sets should drop in Nirnhoned or Impenetrable, I just want to know if anyone actually wants to get endgame gear that looks like this:

Why North American truelflame EP, WHY??
I realize that the EP on the NA server in the Trueflame campaign are jealous of the DC's ability to hold off a 75-90 man zerg on glademist at 1 AM with 25 DC defenders. I also realize it's humiliating for the EP when the only way they can finally take the keep is when their EMP shows up. My question is this -- why does the EP attack DC? Why do you have this irrational hatred for the DC? Why don't you go and ROFLstomp the AD for a night? Seriously, when you can remain pop capped until 3AM on a Friday night while the rest of us are at Med, you should really devote your resources to attacking both factions. What do you do? You designate yourselves as the Akatoshes ******* retribution against the DC because we went and stole the scroll that the AD ghost capped from you at 4AM on Wednesday from the AD. Come on -- was it really necessary to zerg both our scrolls with your unholy red markers of corruption? Was it really fair to attack a faction with 80-90 people on at 3AM with your ridiculous 250+? Meanwhile, the borders between the Aldmeri and the Ebonheart were quiet as the grave..
Yeah, yeah, it was a fun night. I and the guildies genuinely enjoyed the hopelessness of it. It was fun to kill so many with so few -- but still hopeless.
*Ahem* Rant over.
Now to my question:
I came back to ESO after roughly 8 months because Ive been in nursing school. When I left trueflame on the NA server, AD was more populated than a pregnant bull frog and EP was the underdog. DC seemed to be the happy medium. Now, 8 months later, I come back to a red faction that has more capability to spawn than a horny rabbit on Easter. Meanwhile, the formation of the fabled team orange (consisting of whats left of the AD and the zergerific EP) seems to take pleasure in the destruction of blue. Where are the DC? Right where I left them. Stuck with an underwhelming population.
Why is it that the EP suddenly has this hatred for DC? I would think that after 4 months of being ROFLstomped by the AD in the summer of 2015 that the EP would focus their aggression on the AD. Instead, the EP not only use their superior numbers to grind the DC into the ground whenever we've displeased them -- they let the AD tag along like starving vultures feeding on the remains of our cut off keeps.
Ebonheart Pact -- what the heck? What happened while I was gone to incite this hatred?

Any up to date archer builds? Are they even strong?
I've been looking for some archer builds to learn from but I can't really find anything on up to date builds? And I don't really see that many people using a bow. I mainly pvp so that's the area I'm looking for.
I currently have started leveling a khajiit, and would like to primarily use a bow, have about 350CP and I'm thinking for endgame:
x5 Hundings rage
x3 agility (all WD robust)
X1 Bloodspawn
x1 Molag Kena
Is this a viable choice? Or is marksman a better option?
Appreciate any information given, and bar setups and builds shared

British Mercenaries - DC Guild - PvE focussed.
British Mercenaries are recruiting!
We have approx. 80 members with around a quarter of that currently contributing. We're a friendly guild that's all about the community with a "play the way you want" esque ethos. We have a range of experienced members with several Veteran Rank characters all the way to a few casual gamers. We currently run pledges daily and are looking to move forward to some more endgame material with DSA and trials at a later date on the cards. Some of us play in PvP and have links with some of the larger PvP guilds in the alliance too. We're not looking for hardcore diehards only, If you're a casual and the fit the few criteria we have we want you. All we're looking for are:
People aged over 18
People who have and use their mic frequently
People with a strong grasp of the English language.
Simple really. So if you want to join a guild that's about having some fun doing group activity, get the Undaunted done and look at doing some of the more intense PvE then we're the guild for you. Reply with GT for an invite and a link to our FB page/Forum
Thanks all,
SJD Phoenix

Simple really. So if you want to join a guild that's about having some fun doing group activity, get the Undaunted done and look at doing some of the more intense PvE then we're the guild for you. Reply with GT for an invite and a link to our FB page/Forum

Invulnerable guards have got to go
Another night of thieving ruined by getting caught inside a building. Guard spams roots and wrecking blow, cant get away for long enough to get out a door, cant kill the guard or even incapacitate him long enough to get out the door.
I get that they dont want players coming in and griefing towns by killing everyone, including the guards, but making guards invulnerable is a bad way to do things. Hurry up and get the rest of the justice system implemented if that's what it takes (though, seriously now, we all know that will never actually happen).

Still can't load into any instances in Cold harbor
Every time I try to load into any instance on a quest chain it gets stuck on the load screen this is happening in cold harbor I have to shut down the game and restart it every time this happens. It gives me a message saying usually long load time and sits there for minutes linear wait so far was 10 minutes. It didn't load. GT: FuzzyPotatoe Charector name: Grog'Nak

Hey
New player here, sort of.
Already have 400 hours in game.
I bought the game through steam and had to file a support ticket to get permission to post on forums.
A lot of players from steam have no idea how to get forum access, just saying.
Anyway, happy to be here and i must tell you this game is awesome so far.
See you all ingame!!!
P.S english isnt my native language.

Martial Knowledge updating?
i was never involved in the grind for martial so im unsure of where it drops from, what google has told me is that is can drop in Sanctum (along with a couple other places);
first question is this true?
second question if it is true will it be updated to cp160 based on the patch notes in 2.4.0? (quoted below)
"Updates to Sanctum Ophidia
Venture once again into the depths of Sanctum Ophidia!
Sanctum Ophidia now features a Normal version in addition to the Veteran version.
New surprises await as the denizens of the Trial have attracted the aid of a new Bannerman, the Serpent Fang.
Stonebreaker and Ozara have had their difficulty increased. As a result of this change, their accompanying rewards have been improved.
****Items and Weapon sets obtained in this Trial have been updated to max level, which is now Champion 160.****
Sanctum Ophidia will now scale to the level of the Trial leader, much like Dungeons do currently.
When you start the Trial at max level (Champion 160), you will qualify for the Leaderboards.
Points for Leaderboards are awarded in the same way as other Trials (monster kills, vitality bonus and time)."

What alliance would you join in real life?
Hello, all, Shedelin, Scribe for Lord Arena25 here. The master is studying for finals right now and cannot be disturbed. He said he'll be done in about 20 minutes, give or take.
While he's downstairs distracted, I thought I would ask this question?
If the Dominion, Covenant, and Pact existed in real life, which would you join and why? Note that to avoid wars here on the forums, I have made this post anonymous.
