The Lotus Guild. No Dues. New Player Friendly. Social Guild. 490+ Members.

I run a large, active social guild aimed at being new player & advanced player friendly.
We link up frequently for general help, grinding, and the exp boost.
We have plenty of players who can help new members acquire gear.
We farm gear sets together to help everyone get what they need as well.
We do weekly PvP and PvE Events.
These Include Skyshard Hunts, Area Boss Clears, Delves, Dungeons, and Trials.
There are No weekly dues, but any donations we receive are used to help purchase the occasional guild trader, and pay for events.
We hold Raffle and Lottery events weekly.
We have crafters for all your crafting needs.
You can join up to 5 player guilds. I've always felt that new players don't have much guild access/use in most large guilds due to the end game items and players that make up the majority.
As we have a variety of levels, there is always a variety of gear/equipment to choose from to help you destroy your foes and advance your character!
We have plenty of friendly members who are always willing to answer questions and help out new players.
We currently have over 490 members and do frequently hit capacity.
Players we know have been inactive for a long time will be rotated out to make room for newer, active players.
We have an age limit of 18+

Who will be the Artist from anime you guys would request to the Series? How would you want the choreography of the writing to be best described as by the Series?

Hello & welcome to The Unholy Legacy!

Are you tired of having to join a specific guild for each individual part of the game?

A guild to do PvE... another to be able to join a PvP group.... another to be able to trade & use guild trader kiosks?

So were we.... so we created The Unholy Legacy.... a guild that tries to do a bit of everything the game has to offer!
  • Imperial city events
  • Dungeon runs organised ad-hoc during every day when people are around & need dungeon achievements or gold/silver keys etc
  • Guild PvP events (All levels welcome.... from the experienced to the rookies... we can help you get started!)
  • Part of the Ebonheart Pact 'War Council' of guilds in Thornblade.... so there is always a group to join pretty much 24/7 in PvP
  • Guild Trader every week in a capital city
  • Dragon Star Arena runs

For more info or an invite to the guild drop me a message either on here or in-game to @Flaminir

Peace, Love, & Sweetrolls! :)

Tanking the last boss of Fang Lair

$

So last night I got my first vet Fang Lair clear(yay me).50k health and I always have a shield worth at least 20k up. This was about my 8th run of the dungeon as a pug tank. I wanted to discuss the boss though, the first few times I tried him I was always dying from an extremely powerful DOT called gripping cold(if I remember correctly) it would do some 70k damage over the course of a few seconds. So I tried absorb magicka in the hopes that this would absorb enough damage to stop it...no such luck, too many projectiles coming in, it made a difference, but not enough of one. So I slotted dragon-fire scale instead and just spammed it the entire fight...problem solved. Evidently the projectiles coming from the dragon(frozen bolt?) will eventually put the DOT on you(gripping cold?) if enough hit you. Am I interpreting that mechanic right? As soon as I spammed wings the entire fight, I was never hit with the DOT again and the fight became laughable from a tank perspective. If so...I am wondering how miserable this fight must be for non-DK, non-Warden tanks, since they would have to rely entirely upon absorb magicka, like I said, Absorb magicka made a noticeable difference, but I don't think tanks below 50k health would easily survive without a class reflect. Is there any other way to avoid the insanely powerful DOT here? Anyone know? I doubt this boss will ever be a problem for my DK tank again, but some day I may want to try it out with my sorc tank, and I can just imagine the misery that will be.

On another note: Now the non-HM vet is done, what differences in the fight for HM?

so argonions are immune to minor defile would this mean that pirate skeleton would not apply this status and only apply major protection ?

Googled this and only got vague info, mainly that "you need to wait 15 to 20 minutes before trying to log in".

I'm curious as to why? Checked server status and unless it's lagged (in issuing a status report) nothing there is indicative of a server issue.

Right in my primetime too...figures. :P

Khajiits and Argonians don't have to wear boots, shoes, or even sandals!

Seriously. Khajiits and Argonians are Betmer. Beastmen. They don't need any footwear. Because of their animal nature, the need to feel the ground under their soles, their clawed toes...... They must be barefoot.

Khajiits are tradtionally and culturaly a barefoot race. They live and travel all around barefoot. You should respect that. Thanks to their typical and traditional outfits available in the crown shop to give the proof of my words. It'sbarefoot outfits, with just a decorative thin strip around the ankle or between the toes.
Of course, sometimes, they have footwraps too, but their toes are always naked.
What about fighting? Going barefoot to the battle? Why not... ? We are felines. We are souple, flexible, and agile! We practice MARTIAL ARTS! (It's a part of the Khajiit education) Being barefoot is an advantage for dodging and evading (It's exactly why we are better in medium armor). Having naked feet is a strenght for us!
If you're scared to be barefoot, you have the possibility to wear traditionals khajiits feet armor : an armor plate to protect the top of your feet, heel and toes remain naked. You can put these open protections to your feet and remove it quickly. It's more practical than heavy closed boots.
Really, a Khajiit must be barefoot. They don't have to wear boots, shoes, or even sandals!

For Argonians, it's slightly different. Apparently, despite their scaly soles, they wear traditionally sandals. Even their warriors. No closed boot, but sandals. Another proof beastmen don't need heavy closed protection to go in the battle!
But personally, I think Argonians are culturaly a barefoot race too. Using sandals in swamp, bog, or a marsh full of mud and stink-water is not easy. It's why I think they prefer being barefoot. Outside their country, they could have sandals of course, but after living in a swamp, Argonians probably don't care how the ground can be dirty. So, being barefoot is not a problem for them.

But the fact is : Khajiits and Argonians don't need closed boots!

Why are you creating an Argonian or a Khajiit character? Because you like original and lovely animal races. So, you like animal parts of their bodies. In that case, why hidding their feet and their clawed toes into closed boots? Seriously? This doesn't make sense.

All my khajiits characters have naked legs (Mazzatun pants) AND naked feet. And trust me, I'm a solo player, and for solo contents of the game (stories, quests, etc) you can play with a barefoot character, even against world bosses. It's not a problem.

So, what do you think about it, Khajiits and Argonians lovers?

Animation canceling: why is this valid?

Greetings fellow forum dwellers.

Back in my gaming prime, I was all about pushing games to their limit, finding the tricks to gain an edge against the competition. What combination of actions would break the balance?
From Super Smash Bros. wave-dashing to Warhammer 40k: Space Marine roll dashing, I've tweaked my share of games for a competitive edge.

Now past my prime and lacking the same amount of free time I find that such techniques, while valid, are evidence of broken programming.
Before I continue, I will admit that I utilize animation/weapon-swap canceling.

My problem is as follows: If one is to reach 'top tier', one has to sacrifice many aesthetic and/or immersive aspects in the game. It comes to the point that when you have 40 'top tier' players, it doesn't look like a fantasy battle at all. Its a whole bunch of hopping, random instantaneous weapons swapping, (visually) incomplete spell casting etc.
Immersion broken.

In my opinion, spells have specific animations and animation times for two reasons: one is immersion, two is balance. If, sans-cancel, another skill can not be cast until the animation of the first cast skill is completed, then it was intended that way.

I'd like to see the animation canceling removed. Thoughts?

PvE Vet Trials Group Comp in Summerset

So going into the meta group compositions for end game content, I am wondering what you guys feel the best composition will be given the gear and class changes in Summerset.

What we typically see now is a good variance of stam and mag in group comps being:

1 stamplar
1 stamsorc
2 stamblades
1 magsorc
3 magblades

What I’m interested in seeing is if stam is really taking a backseat in veteran end game content.

Summerset P2W?

$

Friend of mine has decided he’s not getting the next expansion as it’s P2W. As much as I want to disagree with him I am finding he has some very valid points. The main 2 being you will be able to purchase jewellery crafting research scrolls allowing you to max out researching far quicker than the base game did all those years ago. This in turn will allow you to craft and make money quicker then anyone else not prepared to spend real money. This is something I can handle but there is some truth to what he says.

Next is the biggest problem for him and now myself. We both liked to play mostly pvp and now there’s a serparate skill line locked behind a pay wall. What happens when someone is killed by this said skill line ? We have all seen there’s a few skills people will be using and to good effect in pvp. So now to him the game has become P2W.

I can understand his point and I will be loosing a friend to this. I understand NEW content should be locked behind pay walls etc but a whole skill line seems pretty harsh to people who don’t have the money. I myself still haven’t completed any imperial city, thieves guild, dragon bones or clockwork city content so summerset is only back logging my content further. I’m in two minds whether to purchase summerset or not.

Dodge Rolling really needs some TLC

$

Unlike healing and using damage shields, you get punished by spamming this unreliable defense mechanic that's situationally strong, but generally weak. There really needs to be some form of mitigation for dodge rolling when getting hit by an undodgeable attack. On top of this, it's horribly unreliable in pve. If you try to dodge roll an AoE that's being placed on the ground you will get hit by the AoE even though your physical body is out of the AoE because the game still considers you to be in your starting position.

This mechanic needs to be fine tuned, and less punishing considering how unreliable it is.

"End Games" Trials Guild Recruiting

“End Games” is a new endgame PvE trials guild that’s now recruiting.

We are currently at 20+ members with a guild leader and some members that have completed most trial content, including hard modes. As of right now, we are recruiting experienced and non experienced players who have interest in Veteran Trials with the aim of building a solid core group. We're planning to start off with a regular Weekly scheduled Trial once on Friday 9 pm EST and another on Saturday but once the guild gets it feet planted, we will get serious about going for scores.

We are not elitists and want to promote a safe and friendly environment within the guild. If you have a similar mindset and the above has piqued your interest, go ahead and answer some questions below by replying to this post or by sending me a direct message:

In-game name @:

Class/Race/Role/Gear setup:

Current number of Champion Points:

Would you be willing to change your role for the benefit of the guild?

When do you typically play (include days, times and time zone)?

Please indicate your current experience level with trials by picking one option below:
A. Very experienced in all vet trials - hard mode completes
B. Experienced in all vet trials - some hard mode completes
C. Some what experienced in vet trials - some completes
D. Little to no experience with vet trials - no completes

Thank you in advance to those who reply!

A tip before Summerset drops

One thing I noticed that when DLCs drop is Zeni tends to change ( nerf ) things players like.

I don't know to much about the upcoming DLC but I am assuming that Zeni may alter ( lower ) jewelry drops. If it is true that you can upgrade jewelry after Summerset then I recommend doing as many group dungeons /trials as possible before the next DLC for a chance of getting jewelry you want/need.

If you are interested in joining a good dungeon/trail guild see my signature and take a look at Friendly Dungeon Runners guild.
