Doing quests before Caldwell's Silver and Gold

I would like to know what happens if you do quests before doing Caldwell's Silver and Gold? I am in Auridon and want to venture out. I see now with one of my characters that there is Caldwell's Silver and Gold quests. So if I venture out to other places will I be able to do those quests or are they locked out until I get to do Caldwell's quests or I can do them now and when I get to Caldwell's quest they will be complete or do I have to do them over again?

I just want to make sure because I am worrying that something might go wrong and just like to make sure ahead of time if I should do them not knowing they are a Caldwell's quest or not.

Curious, I've always ran a MagDk and I finally just hit 30K on a dummy parse - near perfect rotation with 100% uptime on potions and ele drain. 2x Zaan, 5x BSW, 5x Imperfect Siroria. Gold infused weapons, purple body with almost all divines and gold magicka enchants. Apprentice mundus. 380 CP. The only thing I'm missing is the 5/1/1 bonus (Currently at 6/1), gold body pieces, and a Maelstrom back bar. From what I've been reading and seeing if I throw this set on a MagBlade I should be able to crush that DPS parse. Am I at all right in thinking that? Is there something about MagBlades that make them that much better than others?

As can be seen from the combat log, this person (yes, they are from same person - name blurred to avoid naming & shaming) landed 3 Focused Aims within 1,376 seconds.

That is three skills with a 1,1s cast time.



Needless to say, that shouldn't be possible and it is exploits like these (and the losers that abuse them) that give legitimate bow users a bad rap.

Hello,
Does a fire destruction staff light and heavy attacks count as a flame ability or destruction staff ability?

I wonder if it will work with silks of the sun set:

(2 items) Adds 1206 Max Health

(3 items) Adds 1096 Max Magicka

(4 items) Adds 129 Spell Damage

(5 items) Adds 400 Spell Damage to your Flame Damage abilities

I'm on my 10th run of CoH1 HM with guildies and nobody has seen the motif so far. How low is the drop rate for this? Thought I'd do this every month for the motifs because I'm a little bit of a completionist but this is just terrible.

So I'm still pretty new to magicka classes in PvP (old stam DK main) and I need some advice. I can get some kills but I'm WAY too squishy.

I'm currently running:
2 Skoria (heavy)
5 Spinners (chest, legs. boots, Nirnhoned inferno staff)
5 Wizard's Riposte (belt, gloves, jewelry)
2 Song of Lamae (sword and shield on back bar).

Anyone have any advice for a newbie Magplar?

Ive been farming quite a lot and have no luck of getting purple Alinor plans. Also I get much less blue plans so it got me thinking if they have already nerfed it since the patch is already live on PC to balance it out or something. Is anyone else feeling their "yield" has decreased?

I wonder if the overall gaming experience would benefit from having mobs' ability to snare you somehow scale with your level. Example: It seems very strange to me that my CP470 magsorc can be immobilized for five seconds by the searing gaze of a wolf in Bleakrock, so that the pup can very gently nibble on him. It's cute when dogs demand attention, but it's a little excessive.

Constructive Criticism: March of Sacrifices Hard Mode is an unhealthy new precedent

Hey everyone,

Now that I've been in veteran March of Sacrifices a few times, I'd like to echo some sentiments I've read on the forums and seen in game. Namely that, the hard mode for this dungeon is vastly overtuned, and, an unhealthy precedent for the game going forward.

Earlier I cleared March of Sacrifices hard mode, no death, and speed run as a Khajiit Nightblade tank, in a 2 man pre-made (our other 2 were PuGs we had to teach), with no healer, AND no voice comms whatsoever. All strats and progession was done via text chat. Short of gimping myself (further than I already have by not being an Argonian Dragonknight) by removing CP, or playing with a 2/3 man party, this experience could not have been any more challenging.

Now, that might sound like a contradiction right? If a half pre-made / half pick-up group with non-meta roles can clear supposedly the hardest 4 man content in the game using only text chat for communication, surely anyone else can right? And the difficulty can't be that bad, right?

Wrong.

Because it's not about, if it's technically possible to clear this content under these circumstances. It's instead about the frustration levels being amped up to 11 and ruining an otherwise enjoyable piece of content.

What's the point of clearing something if while you're doing it, all you want to do is pull all your hair out in the process? Unless having all your players go bald is your primary objective, the difficulty of this hard mode is a terribly unhealthy precedent going forward.

There is just too much noise in this hard mode. Visual and audio, but mostly visual. Apart from some crippling bugs that are being addressed, most of the difficulty comes from the hunt phases, and even the difficulty in the hunt is relegated to a few specific things. Now, after running this with several group compositions, every group kind of struggles a bit differently with different hunt elements.

But as far as the live iteration of the hard mode goes, I really think the difficulty would be fine if:

1- Hunt strangler detection radius was significantly reduced. These should only grab you if you literally run right into them. How many times has a strangler grabbed you from 8 meters away while you are sprinting past a pack of perma-snaring wolves to the next Balorgh trap? Well I've seen it happen on plenty of hunt attempts actually. The range they can pull is just too extreme. Especially when you couple that the traps and Stranglers can spawn over / inside one another, and, based on how close the traps / stranglers are to a wall, you might be in a situation where in ANY WAY you approach leading the boss to that trap, you will get strangled.

Now, this too has some counterplay. Stranglers can be killed or stunned for example, but that isn't always possible or reasonable. And, due to an RNG dice roll, a group that plays through an otherwise perfect hard mode pull, can get their run completely dismantled, through no failing or fault of their own.

This is bad design.

Now if the stranglers only pulled based on extreme proximity, in essence, a careless player running right through one while focusing on other things, THEN I think it is an appropriately placed punishing mechanic. But how it stands now, with their long / buggy range, this more often than not punishes players who otherwise play the mechanics perfectly, but just have bad luck.

I guess I'm of the mindset that a group failing should be a fault of their skill level, awareness, build preparedness etc...

Not because the game decided to spawn a strangler inside of a trap and cause a domino wipe effect.

And another sentiment I've seen by multiple people regarding the hard modes in Wolfhunter, the experience was so poor and overtuned, that they NEVER WANT TO RUN THESE DUNGEONS AGAIN.

How's that for an unhealthy precedent? Once people get whatever it is they want from these dungeons, they never want to step foot in that content again, and honestly regarding MoS hard mode, can you blame them?

So in closing, I think you guys hit a good balance of hard mode difficulty with the Horns of the Reach and Dragonbones dungeons, but with Wolfhunter, I'm sorry but you are off you're friggen rocker.

Please consider dialling it back with the next DLC dungeon release!

Dracarys is PVP guild on EP side NA server. We run mainly 12-16 sized groups primetime as well as smaller groups during non primetime.
It goes without saying if you're not a fan of organised guild play then you most likely won't enjoy these videos but if you like to see organised group play in outnumbered or GVG situations then enjoy :)

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to take an opportunity to introduce myself here on the forums. I'm the Lead Gameplay Designer on ESO, overseeing the Systems, Combat, PvP, and User Interface teams. Some of you may have seen me on ESO Live last month. I was a little nervous in the beginning of the show if you couldn't tell. =P

I've been working in games for 15 years, most recently having spent 7 at Riot Games working on League of Legends and several smaller games in the LoL universe. I joined ZOS in January and started playing ESO about a year ago. Obviously many of you have been playing the game much longer and have acquired a wealth of knowledge and expertise during that time. ESO is a huge game, and I won't claim to have the same depth of knowledge as someone who's been actively playing since beta.

I do, however, play pretty much every day (I recently switched from PC to console to get better visibility into that experience) and scan the forums and Reddit when time permits. I also lean on the knowledge and experience of the great teams and people here at ZOS who've been hammering on ESO for about a decade. To be clear, my role here is less about making specific changes or improvements to the product and more about helping our teams improve how we work and communicate, both with each other and with you - the players. That being said, I'd be lying if I said there aren't specific aspects of the game I'd like to improve.

My intent is to start posting here on the forums more regularly and, in time, provide more insight into how we think about Gameplay design. My days are already pretty busy (it turns out shipping an update every 3 months leads to a pretty aggressive development schedule!) but I will engage when I can. I'm also certain Gina will find opportunities to poke me for a response.

ESO is a great game. I wouldn't have joined the team if I didn't believe that, and it's exciting to have a hand in shaping the game for the coming years. I'm happy to be here and am looking forward to hearing from you!

150% xp scrolls

Im on PS4 EU, been levelling an alt and using 150%xp scrolls, trouble is when i have logged out the scroll timer hasnt stopped counting down, for example, i popped a scroll on my first daily dungeon of the day, then ran another dungeon, all told took about 40 mins for both dungeons, logged out went to work, logged back in on my return and the scroll had ran down?

i thought i would have at least another 1hr 20mins on the scroll for when i get back or there abouts.

We need more personalities!

For those of us who play this game with a focus on character concept and role play, personalities can make a big difference in polishing our characters. Initially, all personalities were crown store only releases. Later, one came to us through a quest line. A few have been limited time offerings. All of these sources are accssible to the character focused players like myself, but that trend seems to have ended. The last two personalities released have been gated behind content that is impossible to do for most non-competitive, character/RP focused players. Can we please, please have some personality releases we can actually get and use next time? Aka, put it in the crown store?

PVP makes no sense to me

Why are some people unkillable and do stupid damage as well? I mean literally tanking about 5 or 6 of us then turning around with a dawnbreaker for 8 million dmg.

Nothing in this game makes sense? How can I hit someone who has 18k health with a meteor which has like 16k tooltip while hes fossilised and has ele drain on him then whip him 50 times and he just east it like its a tasty morning breakfast?

Please someone explain the game to me, is it just completely random? Driving me crazy!!!

I have a Stam Sorc Orc with Automaton and Bone Pirate all gold, nirn dualwield

Mag DK with sun and Spell weave (sometimes sun and wyrd tree)
