The Hypnotoad (Casual, leveling guild. Dungeons, battlegrounds, wbs, skyshards, and more)

Shameless Advertisement:

OBEY and join the Hypnotoad!

A place where you can find a mature, relaxed group of friends to hang out and have fun with. Zero to no drama, when at all possible.

The main focus for now will be PvE, Leveling, Normal and Vet Dungeons, and Pledges, with a sprinkling of Battlegrounds, and an eye towards Cyrodiil and Trials in the future.

This is a new guild, primarily to be there for people who haven't already been playing ESO for years and don't already know everything in the universe, but everyone is welcome. There's a lot of guilds out there that run trials, Cyrodiil, in other words end-game content, and don't seem to run much of anything else. There's a lot of people who'll say find a regular dungeon group to run with. Well, not all of us are socially adept, and feel left out of such cliques sometimes. So, I'd like this to be a place where you can learn the game and find people to do stuff together with no matter where you're at in the game. That's not to say we won't run trials, too, but I'm only just barely getting to the point where I can start running normal trials myself.

So what can you in particular find here? Dungeons, lots and lots of dungeons, and definitely some battlegrounds too. Normal dungeon runs to help people advance. (Almost) daily One Dungeon at a Time runs to learn Vet dungeons. It's good training for trials.

This is also a multi-game community, for those of you for whom one game is just not enough.

You can message @Collanaro in game for an invite, or give a shout on the discord.

You'll find the Hypnotoad's Discord at https://discord.gg/QMpE8M8

All glory to The Hypnotoad!

PS: If you're looking for an end-game, long established guild with powerful, experienced players who run vet and normal trials regularly, and have a guild house with all crafting stations and everything, and guild traders in Craglorn (currently), check out my good friends at Kitty Rainbow Dash, led by the amazing @prettpony. https://discord.gg/n6gS894 They're awesome and all kinds of fun. They also have a sister guild Killer Rainbow Dash that is primarily a trading guild, and also has a trader in Craglorn (currently). KRD2 is at the same discord as KRD1.

[PvE, PvP (AD), Social, New Player Friendly] The Dominion Constellation

The Dominion Constellation is a guild formed back in May this year by a couple of players who have been playing since Beta.
We've successfully grown a guild with a member base close to 300 where around 250 are very active.

Our goal was to have a friendly guild where we avoid elitism and try to help everyone the best we can, but also have a full event schedule for everyone to participate if they wanted to.
So that is what we made happen!

At the moment we are running trials twice a week (on normal, we are working together as a group to get ready for veteran), weekly Skyshard and Worldboss hunts, weekly AD PvP events and a social event a lot of people seem to enjoy called "Drunken Friday".

Drunken Friday is just a time for people to hop on voice chat on Discord with a drink in hand and we do random content - some nights are more hectic than others, other nights can be calm and we just chit chat. However! We also plan bigger Drunken Fridays where we i.e do "Boss shots", these are more like once a month or every other month event (to save our livers).

We also have a small, but growing RP base with a Role Play coordinator.

All these events have their own event coordinator who are top officers and we have moderators as low tier officers.
The guild itself is run by "The Consul" which consist of 5 people, we don't have one set leader, the Consul works together.

Also to mention, we do have a very active Discord server where you can keep an eye on all events with details as they come up + a social text chat which is active pretty much 24/7 - babble away!

If this sounds like the guild for you, please let me know your @ name and I shall add you!

Ps4 file size is insane 104.6gb

Why does eso have such a large file size on ps4. Ever time the game has an update I have to uninstall other games because it requires you to have at least 104.6 gb of free space. Even if the update is only a few mb.

Is Unstable Clannfear useful end game

Against my better judgment, I will give this one last go. I believe that, for the most part, the discussions have been fun and enjoyable. I feel that I've gotten to know some people on other factions a bit, and it is cool being killed by someone you recognize! :) Anyway, let's stick to talks of builds, funny stories (like the time I got jumped by 8 AD as I rode across the bridge and they bashed me to death as I fell out of my chair laughing), map strategy, which in game snacks you prefer, and of course... Ice trebs.

warhorn will be losing its minor toughness buff next patch i think it would be nice if the toughness loss was balanced with something useful if possible.

my ideas are as follows, feel free to add your own.

- adds major heroism for 10 seconds or
- adds mag and stam regen for the duration or
- just adds 10% health and toughness can stack on it.

Zos is making the same mistakes with ESO as Bungie did with Destiny 2

This probably won't ring a bell if you aren't familiar with the Destiny series. Destiny 2 crashed and burned because Bungie went overboard with nerfs in an attempt to cater to the casual audience. They didn’t consider that the casual audience will only play the game a short time before moving on, no matter what they did. Both Destiny (1) and ESO both experienced a shaky release with many issues. Over the life of the games and DLC’s they slowly become polished experiences. Since there is no ESO 2, we can start at the Morrowind era as the beginning of the current game there is today.
Morrowind saw a nerf to sustain, Destiny 2 also saw a nerf to sustain with the hidden juggler effect (ammo does not drop for equipped weapon)
PvP was never “balanced” in either game, because in PvP meta setups are just more effective. Destiny 1 had a lot of powerful weapons and abilities, but they rewarded a skilled player since by everyone being OP, it was an even playing field. Destiny 2 went the opposite direction, making pvp bland and slow paced, focusing on a team shot meta because 1v1’s aren’t feasible when your opponent could just disengage. See the heavy armor meta in high MMR bg’s now.

Locking item types previously earned through gameplay activities behind the crown store (new mounts, motifs) is similar to Destiny 2’s decision to lock sparrows and ships behind Eververse (obtainable by gameplay in D1)

Mobility is one of the things that saved D1 from obscurity. The game felt fluid and fast, and had hands down some of the best and most rewarding movement in an FPS. Destiny 2 saw a full on nerf to mobility and the character movement is painfully slow. ZOS’s next target after shields is none other than mobility.

High gunskill was rewarded in Destiny 1 with hand cannons being a crisp 3 tap precision kill in PvP and snipier rifles being the highest DPS against bosses. Magblades in ESO reward a skilled player by having the highest DPS ceiling for those who are skilled enough to weave the bow. Guess what was nerfed in Destiny 2? Gunskill (bloom mechanic, no special weapon slot, slower TTK and gameplay) The only thing other than being one of very few MMO’s on console that makes ESO successful is the faster paced combat, yet the nerf hammer is coming down on it.

The more of Bungie’s failures with Destiny 2 that you are aware of, the more apparent it is that ZOS is making the same mistakes today. I still play ESO because I enjoy the game, but I also stuck with D2 for longer than I should have hoping Bungie would turn it around into the game that D1 was.

In Murkmire, magwarden brings nothing to the table in PVP that stamwarden doesn't

$

At one point, magwarden had a lot to offer that stamwarden didn't. There were strong reasons to want a magwarden in your group even if you already had a stamwarden or two. After the Murkmire nerfs to magwarden, this is no longer the case in PVP. Unless something changes, the choice won't be between two different but effective paths toward being a warden, the choice will be between the efficient morphs and playstyle (stamwarden) and the inefficient, underperforming morphs and playstyle (magwarden). There just isn't anything that magwarden brings to a group that stamwarden doesn't do equally well or better:

- Magwarden has good offheals. Stamwarden has offheals that are just as good if not better, thanks to Vigor.
- Magwarden has big AOE burst DPS. Stamwarden has big AOE burst DPS, with the difference being that stamwarden also has Dawnbreaker and Steel Tornado.
- Magwarden used to have some of the game's best uptime on Major Expedition. Now they have exactly the same uptime as everyone else, but stamwarden also can make use of Forward Momentum without gimping their light attacks.
- Magwarden has Permafrost. But Stamwardens can also use Permafrost to great effect in PVP.
- Magwarden has Corrupting Pollen, an AOE Defile. Nevermind that many magwardens have dropped this since the skill often just doesn't apply the Defile to people in the AOE -- if you really want this skill in a group, a stamwarden can run it no problem.
- Magwarden has a strong shield against projectiles. But the sustain on this skill is so good that stamwardens can run it without feeling magicka pressure.
- Magwardens have an in-class stun. But it's so mediocre that stamwardens getting their stun from outside the class (Dizzy Swing, Reverb) don't feel like it's a big loss.
- Magwardens have an in-class DOT, stamwardens don't. Stamwardens don't feel this loss at all though, since (a) Poison Injection and Blood Craze are so good and (b) magwardens hate casting Fetcher Infection. (Remember how Fetcher was a pain point presented by the class reps? ZOS' response was to increase the cost. Very funny Wrobel.)
- Magwarden offers AOE Major Breach. Good, but not necessarily better than AOE Major Fracture, and certainly not a reason to prefer magwarden over stamwarden.
- Magwarden has no execute. Stamwardens have access to some of the best executes in the game.
- Magwarden offers a lot of AOE damage in general, but stamwardens are so much better AOE damage that they are the only class to seriously challenge magNB for the title of best group bomber in PVP.
- Magwarden used to have access to powerful damage shields (Annulment, Healing Ward). These shields are no longer powerful, and optimized builds will find a way not to rely on them. At any rate, heavy armor + Forward Momentum + Vigor will be a much better source of defense than Annulment and Healing Ward will be, and that of course is what stamwardens run.
- Maturation is an increasingly valuable passive for a group, but stamwardens can provide it just as well as magwardens can.

The one thing that magwarden has to offer that stamwarden simply doesn't bring to the table is roots: a magwarden relegated to root-bot can be pretty effective by spamming Shards, Blockade, and Frost Reach. The ironic thing is that magwarden isn't optimal for even this playstyle: root-bot works much better on a warden stacking health and proc sets instead of magicka.

@ZOS_GinaBruno can you make sure that the combat team knows that magwarden has now been relegated to a single playstyle (root bot) in PVP, thanks to a combination of a failure to address the class's pain points and the introduction of new nerfs to the class? The magwarden community would really like to see that change.

We really need a trader search function

It is really really tedious having to sort through page after page of items I do not want on a guild trader just to try and find the one item I am looking for. I feel like if we had a search function for the Guild Traders where we can search for specific items by name, or by key words (such as "Order of the Hour" in my case) tons of time could be saved.

Fake role ***....and an idea on how to deal with it

$

Today I have tried to get my random daily dungeon done...17 times...and yet every single time it has been rendered not possible due to one [or more] pricks showing up in as fake role [on vet mind you..like..wtf] as you can picture it is frustrating to no end...but..all is not lost, I have an idea on how to fix it...introducing

ROLE EFFECTS: when you are in a dungeon under a certain role you are given certain buffs [and debuffs] to make you suitable for your *** job
Healer: -80% damage done, +30% major/minor buff duration on self and targets +15% healing done
Tank: -50% damage done, +10% less damage taken, +taunt on all heavy attacks, +60% more resources gained on heavy attack
DPS: +5% damage done, +tether [basically a synergy that can be used to drag them back to the rest of the group in the event t hey run off past all the mobs...like an ***]

result: Unless you are suited for the role you queue as, you're just going to get slapped with debuffs and have a bad time [to the point where you might as well not bother]

if you guys can think of a method that's a little less heavy handed while also being this effective at keeping the fakes way, then lets hear it.

PS4/NA (Cyro & IC): Vivec - This Must Be The Place...

yes, a very naive melody :)

initially I had tried to kick off the conversation with questions on a bunch of random topics...

love to fight, carry scrolls, gank, defend, attack, pour oil on folks, repair keep walls til your fingers bleed - this is your thread...

love hearing big and little battle stories, as well as observations concerning the interaction between the alliances in this campaign - who doesn't love a good bridge fight...

big IC fan...at this point i wanna apologize right now for anything weird or crazy i may have done in IC (or for any future stuff)...I'm pretty laid back in cyro - IC has a way of getting me fired up on occasion...

hmmmmm, is it really true cyro reveals whom you want to be, and, IC reveals who you truly are...

if you want - say what's up, and if you like - let us all know what's up...

anyhow - enjoy, and, happy gaming trails...

bonus question: if any one knows where the reference "loose tales" (spelt differently) comes from - you'll win...ummmm, my undying admiration?

Lets talk about one of the dumbest features added back to this game - Forward Camps

$
0
0
I know, there are going to be some people who come in here and say "Without them this is Horse simulator online!!!" ...Which i say false, without them..This is Large Scale PvP online...and in that game if you die...You might have to ride back to the fight if you can't get a res..Which is how its suppose to work...you want to instantly get back into the fight...play BGs or run around in IC.

Forward Camps themselves are basically an instant aoe rez...available to everyone every 5 minutes. You fight a Zerg Guild and you kill 23 out of 24 people..Guess what..They all get Rezzed to full health and no penalty what so ever.

You have things like this that were added to previous games like DAOC (there ya go Joy) and quickly removed because they learned the same thing...that AOE rez is powerful..and you shouldn't give it to everyone in a Zerg.
