Mages Guild Ending, Impact on Character?

$

I completed the Mages Guild quest line nearly a year ago, and I chose the choice where you get the lorebook thing, not the two skillpoints. I haven't done the quest line on another character, and was wondering what the impact was on my main, the one who has done the quest. I don't think there is a way I can get those skillpoints, so essentially have I missed out on two? Also, if I had chosen the skillpoints, would I still have the lorebook thing in my Journal?

Lag spikes at the same hours every-single-day

Every single day since Murkmire, from about 7pm CET to 11pm, i get ping spikes from 100-150 to 500-999 ping every few seconds, everything around me freezes for a few seconds and then starts teleporting around, so i pretty much can't play the game at those hours which is mostly the only time i can play on weekdays. This sort of BS doesn't happen in any other game so that obviously makes me believe this is a ZOS issue, i'm pretty hopeless at this point and i feel really dumb that i keep paying for ESO+...

Good PVP'ers vs. Bad PVP'ers

I've noticed something that has been a plague on PVP games in the last 15 years that I've been playing them that I think is utterly hysterical, as follows:

Many of the players of today that believe they are great PVP'ers do not actually fight the best opponents in open world PVP. This is common in not just ESO, but in games like WoW, EVE Online, Aion, etc. Essentially, what occurs, is a similar form of what we used to use clans / guilds for back in the day. I'll use a comparison of my 1st experience in a PVP game, with Lineage2 vs. my current experience in MMO's through the lens of ESO.

Lineage 2 - 15 Years ago.

In this game, gear grinding was insane, to have a B grade weapon (weapons scaled to S) you basically had to have been playing for almost 2+ years, at level 55+ grinding out 10% XP in a day required about a 12 hour investment, when you got to level 65+ it was basically 12 hours to make around 5%.

The penalty of death was 2-3% XP, and if you died in PVP and it wasn't a clan war and you were near level cap you were basically losing the last 12 hours of your XP grinding every time you died. Also, if you ganked someone who didn't want to fight, you received Karma which needed to be worked off slaying monsters, your name was red and you had a significant risk of dropping your gear if someone killed you while you had karma. Dropping something like a weapon would set you back at least a year.

This is what guilds were built and predicated on. You wanted to maximize individual gain and minimize losses by surrounding yourself with quality players and working as a team to accomplish very difficult goals. This encouraged teamwork between the best players, setting aside of ego, and created a natural hierarchy in the game in which the best players formed an alliance, managed the castles they won, and made it possible for the people who were playing in the zones they owned the castles of an opportunity to make significant in game currency (very rare) if the alliance managed the seeding process properly.

The best players were also the best PVP'ers. You needed to defend your grinding area's (TOI - Tower of *** I forgot the name) grinding angels was a hotly contested spot, and many times when we were at war with another clan we would fight over the opportunity to grind experience in these area's for hours on end. The best players were constantly fighting the best players for the best grinding spots.

ESO - Current Day

In this game, gear grinding is very easy. Some of the best gear is easily crafted and the stat bonuses from gold jewelry / gear is very minimal, you can be a very competent player in epic purple attire. Grinding XP is so easy that we have over 810 champion point levels. You can play casually and still be very competitive.

The penalty for death is almost totally non-existent. You don't need to repair your gear, the only thing you suffer is a respawn and having to run back to the fight. You will never lose something you worked for.

Guilds are now built and predicated on their ability to do specific things well (Trials) or are primarily social gathering places, with no hierarchy of who the best players are, and very little reason to set aside ego or differences to accomplish a greater goal, because no greater goal actually exists. I should note, this isn't the case for trading guilds, the last bastion of what a real guild should be based on, which many players in the forums want to ruin because they don't like the idea of paying dues. Old players have no incentive to teach new players how to learn how to play, because overall difficulty isn't that hard, finding enough players to do the content is fairly easy, even if you have drama with 90% of your server. Only the highest level achievements in the game now require teamwork.

The best PVE'ers and best PVP'ers are separated for the most part, though more often than not you find that the best PVP'ers are also very good at PVE as they have a serious working knowledge of the class and its limitations/best skills/best stat / gear allocation, etc. But, these so called PVP'ers that we find in ESO, don't actually fight each other, more often than not. Many of them have multiple characters across multiple factions, and rather than put themselves into a guild where they would need to control their ego, they separate into dueling circles or small guilds that don't fight each other in open world, and most have no idea how to play as a team.

They talk on the forums like they want "serious PVP" - they groan for balance - they complain about lack of challenge - yet they purposely limit the challenges to themselves as players (other good players) by boosting their ego ganking scrubs while totally ignoring the players who give them a challenge in Cyro.

i.e.

Majority of people on the forums are fake. I think this reflects our society today as well. Most of the people talking to you are liars today, with no interest in challenging themselves, constantly seeking the easy way out, massaging their ego's, and running from or refusing to challenge themselves due to a fear of having their ego crushed. They have no idea how to take their "L"'s and instead will focus on how a class is op, it was a 1vX, a mob hit them once, etc.

I know this comes off as a "Back in my day" and it's true, games are way more accessible today than they used to be because of a lot of the things mentioned above, and that's a good thing, but I'll say this -

If you think you're good at PvP but all you do is run around Cyro 1vX'ing scrubs and fighting the occasional duel against good players, while your group avoids fighting those good players because they are your "friends" - you're not good. Gone are the days when guilds had purpose, men and women set aside ego's to accomplish complete server domination for their guild, and good players treated each other with respect on virtual battlefields.

Enjoy the rest of your day you tea bagging clowns :)

Daily reward and final loot in dungeons/trials?!?!

$
0
0
I write this post because i think these final loot or daily reward (at least recently) are designed primarily for players under 810 CP, only that the players above +810 CP are many and are those who play more.
Now to give some examples, i dont care about:
Xp boost scroll;
Repair Kit (really?);
1/2k gold ... (minimum prize for gold enchant is + 3.5k gold);
Potions (one also involves a bug when eating blue food);
2 Food (i want 50 at least);
Should these daily rewards lead anyone over 810 CP to log in?

For the daily dungeons/undaunted quest the only positive thing is the transmute crystal;
For the trials .... there is a special loot? the final box ok ...
Gold boxes for vet trials .. ok

What would push me to do dungeons with all my alts?
The only thing would be a final loot that would help me to speed up the improvement of the gear, so in general i would be led to do dungeons only for gold loot of any kind.
Once leveled the undaunted to the maximum and taken the achievements for the vet dungeon 1/2 nothing pushes me to do these dungeons again, i will concentrate only with the DLC dungeons and not all because even with those i have already taken many achievements.

What do you think? please do not tell me that the loot are good and are not even mandatory, because they are for every self-respecting MMO.

The purpose of this thread is to give you a place to post your current top two pain points with the Templar. Our new Class Representatives will be keeping a close eye on this thread, and will utilize it to gather additional feedback for the notes they’re currently compiling for their first meeting with the Dev Team next week. Please be sure and keep your post clear and succinct, and focus more on what is currently frustrating you rather than potential solutions. Thanks!

Guild Masters: SilverStarFlores, tophighlander2
Faction: Any Alliance
PvP Alliance: Ebonheart primarily

We are an older guild back way back from the game's initial launch looking to rebuild after a few years of inactivity. Our mission is to gain a large group of people who want to have people to talk to, play with, or simply hang out. Whether it will be grouping up for Cyrodiil conquests, Skyshard hunts, or for trials, we aim to help our guild-mates in any activity that may be daunting to them or if they require company to do so.

We are looking for:

- Any players who are mature-minded.
- Those of any race, and alliance.
- People who want meet new people and make friends.
- Those who need help with quests or dungeons .
- People would be willing to help out their fellows.
- Crafters of any skill to help guild mates.

Promotion!
- There will be six ranks that all member have a chance of getting -- Volunteer, Raider, Vicecanon, Palatine, Centurion, and Raider Council.

- Volunteer: To be promoted all members must have been in the guild for at least 5 days. Grants access to the Guild Store.
- Raider: To be promoted, members must be within the guild for a minimum of two weeks and be active in the guild. This ranks allows access to the guild bank..
- Vicecanon: To be promoted, these members must be active in the guild -- always attending guild events, getting friends to join the guild, donating gold even when not necessary at all, etc. They must also have also been in the guild for at least 1 month.
- Centurion: This rank will now act as the new Vicecannon. To be promoted, members must be active within guild chat, help guild mates whenever possible, and have been a long time member of the guild. ( at least 2 months)
- Palatine: These members will be the most trustworthy, active, helpful and all around good person. They must have also been apart of the guild for 6 months. Additionally, these members will now act as minor overseers -- monitoring the guild chat, making sure guild mates receive help when needed, etc.
- Raider Council: Palatines can only be promoted to the Raider Council if another of the Council nominates them, and receives the general consensus of the leaders. This members will be major overseers and help manage the guild.

Guild Bank Access:
- Items in the bank CANNOT be guaranteed to stay. All members, Raider and up, will have access so I would advise against putting your more valuable items in the bank.
- Any weapons and armor may be withdrawn, deconstructed, and their materials placed back into the guild for everyone to use freely. This is to ensure that there will be ample space in the bank for everyone.
- Please be considerate of your guild mates when withdrawing.

Guild Events:
- Every week there will be a few different events that our members may choose from. The events to choose from will be among these:
a.) Skyshard Hunts
b.) Dual-Zone World Boss Hunts
c.) Normal Trials
d.) Ebonheart Pact alliance PvP
e.) Fishing
f.) Role-Playing (coming soon)

The selections per week will be discussed by the leaders and officers of the guild who hosts the specific events. However to note, that some events will be scheduled primarily through our discord server, so access to it is highly recommended.

Raffles will now occur biweekly, typically on Sundays, to fund both guild trader bids and our new mini events.

Randomly during the week, mini events will occur that will give our members chances at getting some free stuff. Prizes will vary from mats, to lootboxes, to gold.
a.) These events include but are not limited to
trivia, hide-and-seek, and locate the pet.(A
hidden pet guar that is placed somewhere in
the guild hall.)

Additional Information:
- We have a PSN community that we would enjoy to bring back to fruition as more members join the guild.
- We have a new Discord server that can be used for all things in the guild, from just hanging out to asking for advice!

- We highly encouraged our members to join the discord server due to the increased activity, there's almost always someone on to talk to, and the addition of Fox-Bot which can be used to find average prices for items to sell, check luxury/golden items and among other things.

Guild Hall (SilverStarFlores's Primary Residency):
- Basic Crafting Stations -- Alchemy, Enchanting, and Provisioning
- Outfit Station
- Access to a Transmutation Shrine
- Mechanical Acuity Stations - Clothing, Blacksmithing, and Woodworking. Craft Away!
- The Guild Hall now has a Mechanical Acuity jewelry station.
- The Hall now has access to both the BANKER and MERCHANT npc!

Guild Rules:
There are two rules within the guild - be mature and be respectful. Though we have no objection to small jokes, or teasing, harrassment will not be tolerated. A three point warning system will be in place.
1. Warning
2. Demotion
3. Expulsion

If you have any questions, feel free to message me - tophighlander2 - on PSN or on this thread. If you are looking to join, message either here or to the guild masters. Thank you!

Poem: Cracked Hearts

Two in a tale made of races akin
made borne of a story of struggles within

for how can two dream to be together
if one is lost by the thought of forever?

The story is cursed and even blind eye
could recite prophecy of love that may die

one drawn to power of sword and sun
the other to knowledge till the mind's undone

And yet inside of two broken life-heaps
is a magical power; hearts and their beats

So races akin yet different will find
a new devotion and rewired mind.

A dedication to the odd romantic feelings between a character of mine and the character of an old friend. :)

I would love to post more poems about my characters and such here... maybe a couple story snippets or letters between them. Anyone interested?

How would you feel about a RP/speedrun option for dungeons?

$

Given how there is a "mega-server" which everyone shares (phasing aside) it's fair to say this leads to a mash of playstyles:

Those who want to take their time and listen to dialogue in dungeons, or simply learn mechanics for the first time, and those who want to finish ASAP.

What if they implemented an option where you could either queue for "RP/casual/noob" dungeons or conversely queue for "Speed Run" dungeons?

Yes I know "join a guild, git gud, yadda yadda" but for those of us who enjoy the team aspect of dungeons but rarely have time to play so guilds aren't an option, and don't like feeling rushed in dungeons, I think it'd be great to proactively place ourselves in a queue with like minded adventurers.

That also applies to the speedrunners, it would allow them to get into groups they know are looking for that quick clear and not have to worry about showing the ropes to people.

What do you think?

(i'm not saying one playstyle is better vs the other but i think it's fair to say they clash)

Dark Conversion — Buff is misnamed

Dark Conversion (the magicka morph of Sorcs' DarK Exchange ability) is providing a buff that displays the wrong name. The buff is listed as "Dark Deal", which is instead the stamina variant of the morph.

The bug is purely textual—the buff restores magicka properly as described in the tooltip.

Morph description:
Has reduced cost.
Cost: [2161] Stamina.
Bargain with darkness to restore 8059 Health and 3600 Magicka instantly, and an additional 2400 Magicka over 20 seconds.

[BUGS] Veteran Blackrose Prison (XBOX)

$
0
0
Hello everyone, I’m AbbyMeowCat from Xbox NA.

I completed Veteran Blackrose Prison on a Dragonknight Magicka Tank on the first week of release.

However, I experienced some issues when playing other tank classes as I love playing the Templar Tank, Nightblade Tank and Warden Tank too and tryharding the hardest content in the game.

While Doing vBRP:

I realised that attacks from Battlemage Boss and Tames-The-Beast has Major and Minor Defile, and also has a bleed Damage-Over-Time that deals increased damage for each additional stack, up to 5.

Once it hits 5 stacks, it is almost unsurvivable without constant healing and almost difficult to manage resources without some support from the team or sigils as it CANNOT be Purged.

On the Dragonknight Tank, the skill called Reflective Plate is able to totally ignore the bleed DoT from both bosses light attacks. However, you would have to roll dodge Battlemage’s heavy attack and Tames’ Taking Aim as well to be completely free from the debuffs.

I tried to tank this on other classes by using other skills that could deflect, sadly there is no skill that other classes have that could have the same effect as Dragonknight’s Reflective Plate.

Warden’s Shimmering Shields does not ignore the bleed like Reflective Plate can.

Absorb Magic and Defensive Stance from the One-Hand-And-Shield skill line and its morphs can’t deflect as well which is disappointing as I thought Murkmire was going to be a patch which focuses on the balancing of classes and this was the only available general skill that is capable of deflection for non-Dragonknight tanks. Even the Spell Wall ultimate does not have the same effect.

Sorcerer Tank’s Ball of Lightning does not even absorb the projectile and negate the bleed.

The Nightblade Tank, even though has the strongest self-heal (Dark Cloak) with Jailer set and Soul Siphon, will still struggle as defile becomes even stronger at 5 stacks and only way is to wait for Tames to finish his taking aim and roll dodge it to finish the DoT timer at the very last second.

This makes vBRP currently in favor of only the Dragonknight Tank, making it manageable for this one class and almost impossible for other tank classes.

Another issue I faced was during the fight against Lady Minara in 3rd Arena. She has a huge Bat Swarm AoE which she will cast on the tank. However strangely enough, there is a bug where you take the full AoE damage until the effect ends even ‘when you are out of it’ or even miles away from it! The only way for us to fight through this AoE bug is by having a magicka sorcerer lay down a Negate on the Bat Swarm and my friends have Bat Swarm on their death recaps.

The Infusers are also sometimes not responsive when they are bashed missing our chances to interrupt, enraging her.

The Battlemage and Lady Minara also sometimes has no animation displaying their heavy attack or Shield Bash to prepare you to dodge roll, killing you or your group instantly.

These are the bugs I have faced so far and if anyone else has faced other things while doing it please share as well as vBRP is buggy and imbalanced at the moment.

I hope Zenimax hears my feedback on the bugs of vBRP.

Thank you.

Servers are not the problem.. consoles are..

If you are a pc player shame on you for thinking you guys have a bad experience with pvp trials etc..

I watch people play on pc and my God its light years better than console.

Lag/servers are not the problem, the consoles/pcs specs are..

Some lower end pcs experience the same thing console users experience BUT if u you have a good pc you get really good performance ( compared to console )

The fact of the matter is ( sadly ) that zos cant make playstations and xbox consoles run better. They didnt design them. They simply ported their game onto console with very limited power and they knew that and they assumed we knew that.

This game isnt gonna get any better ( performance wise ) but it still is a fun game i will admit BUT as of today vivec on NA is simply unplayable anytime afternoon..and trials have always been unplayable for console users. Ya we can do them but its no fun running content at 10fps.

The servers are pretty stable and cant remember the last time servers were down. It used to happen a lot more often but way less now so they seem to have a good grasp for servers.

But again they CANT make xbox and playstation run better no matter how much money you throw at them.

Enough of the server posts and upgrade your pc if you want to enjoy this game it will be worth it

Occasionally not receiving any item when fishing

$

For the past several days (at least 3 if not 4) I have been fishing first in Glenumbra and then in Stormhaven for the achievements. I noticed that occasionally when I reeled in the line and my character did the animation associated with catching something (head shaking up and down) that I did not receive anything. Furthermore, in all these hours of fishing I did not receive any housing related items as is normally the custom.

I have auto-loot on and so cannot confirm that there were indeed empty loot boxes. However, there were no notifications of added items as is normal with auto-loot.

Has anyone else experienced similar over the past few days?

Unless they've stated otherwise, you currently cannot get your grabby hands on those snowy fir trees and bushes, unless you steal them from your Snowglobe house... I think there's one(?) in the housing editor crown store.

So, idea!

Quest Boss Not Spawning

There's a sidequest in Murmire called Empty Nest. I am at the point in the quest where I'm asked to "Kill Krona and Ree-Nakal" I walked into the boss room to 5 other players standing around emoting and waiting on the boss to spawn. I joined in for a bit but after about 15 minutes we all decided to leave the room and wait 1 minute before going back in, hoping the boss would spawn after we had all left. We did so, but still no Krona and Ree-Nakal.

That's the room we've all been waiting on the boss for. Going on 25 minutes now.
