Please Do Not Lock Sunspire Skin Behind A Million Achievements

$

I know Elsweyr still has several months, but I want to make one thing clear in regards to its trial, Sunspire. DO NOT LOCK IT BEHIND LUDICROUS ACHIEVEMENTS. From what I understand, each boss will have a hard mode. This is an interesting idea, especially with a full trial. However, I do not want to see the skin being locked behind an achievement of doing all hard modes or something idiotic like that. Just keep it behind a vet clear, Maw of Lorkhaj or Halls of Fabrication. Please, no BS or nonsense with certain achievements for trial skins.

Snares are still way too prevalent

Movespeed is still way too slow and sluggish and Snares / immobilises still run rampant through PvP. Trying to fight someone feels like you're running through treacle and most movespeed buffs feel redundant when you're snared 50% constantly.

Snare removals / snare immunity like Shuffle lasting only 2 seconds is ridiculous as it pretty much means that if you want to have any speed at all in PvP you're spamming Forward Momentum or Shuffle constantly. Does ZOS expect us to just expend 3000 Stamina every 2 seconds so we can actually move?

Trying to fight someone feels clunky and awkward as half the time you're awkwardly plodding towards and around them due to so many snares. It was bad in Murkmire and could really do with some addressing this patch, at least extending the immunity of snares on certain abilities and making it more accessible. There's now what? 2 abilities that make you immune to snares? And they last a fewof seconds!?

If this problem remains PvP will continue to lose players as combat just doesn't feel fast, reactive or dynamic anymore as everyone is just walking towards each other at 1 mile per hour.

Pet scaling

All pets will now inherit your bonuses and derived stats. This means your Critical Hit Chance, Critical Hit Multipliers, Champion Points, and other % damage or healing amplifications will be applied to any pet you summon. Item sets that summon pets will continue to not inherent your Critical Strike Chance.

Does this mean Sorc pets scale with magicka and spell damage now?

Solo dungeon mode, please

Please READ the post before posting commets, not just title

And again. PLEASE READ before commenting. PLEASE.

Dear ZOS,
A lot of lore already hidden in 4-player dungeons. It is even worse for the Wrathstone dungeons, as they are a part of the story. Please make a solo dungeon mode for players, who are not able to do dungeons in a group.
Let this solo dungeon mode be purely story oriented: no sets, no motifs, no achivements, no skillpoints - nothing that could make this mode a kind of a cheating one. Nothing to grind. It should not be a part of Undaunted pledges and whatever else - juts a story to do.

To all who want to post some answer like "find friends", "find a guild", "learn to play", please read this: I play since 2016. I tried hard to find people like me to do dungeond for a story. And here are the results:
1. We are 4 and we all want to do a dungeon for a story. I'm a tank. Other players are: a healer who sees a restoration staff for the first time and 2 DDs running around a dungeon like mad chickens. These people never did dungeond before, and will never practice - they are focused on quests only. They don't want to spend their time learning how to play in a group.
2. I found 3 people who agree to change their playstile. We live in different countries - thus it is hard to set a time for dungeon runs or practice. More - even if we all 4 are online, these players are busy doing something. As, you know, there are a lot things to do. And the most bad thing: I can be forced to log off at any moment because of my job.
3. Many players who want to do dungeon stories refuse to change anything. As a master crafter, I offer them free sets, food, glyphs. I try to explain their skills gently. I try to explain dungeon mechanics. But solo players are SOLO players. They don't want someone to be a leader. They don't want to learn a crazy rotation piano, they don't listen to a team mechanics. "I'll go see what's there!" - types my teammate in chat. I start typing "No" in respond, but the teammate is already dead, and mobs are running at us.
4. Guildmates do agree to do a dungeon with me. Sometimes they even give some time for me to make screenshots of dialogues. Sometimes. But the rest of the time they just rush through a dungeon. I don't want to rush! Dungeons are beautiful, I want to enjoy them! I don't want to make dialogue screenshots, I want to LISTEN to them!
5. I tried to do dungeons solo with a petsorc. My results: Fungal Grotto 1 and another "beginners" dungeon with a spider boss. I know - some players can do a lot of dungeons solo. Not me, unfortunately.

I assure you - I've made every effort to find players like me. A lot of people want to do dungeon stories, and it is impossible to become a team. Please @ZOS, give us a possibility to enjoy dungeons!

Would you play the game if Cyrodiil were only zone to play, and PvE wouldnt exist at all?

An important message to frost mages and developers

I came back into the game recently and have been doing daily randoms for some time. And there is one thing that have been bothering me. I noticed that some frost mages ovetaunt the boss with heavy attacks and it goes randomly to attack everyone.
So here I'm sitting, thinking: "man, I wish developers would put some sort of tool tip that says about ice staff heavy attacks taunting the boss. If only there was a hint at it somewhere..."

And here is another thing for the developers. I have a question, why destruction stuff gives defensive properties? Why it's not called a protection staff? And it's worse that sword and shield by a large margin. Can you guys create a new skill line with appropriate passive and active skills that would allow people to tank with the staff? Maybe magic staff and shield? Maybe protection rune instead of staff?
I mean why does ice staff exists?
It can't P R O T E C C
It can't A T T A C C
It S U C C

And after this frost staff could become destruction staff again and gain more damage properties.

This is the official feedback thread for Frostvault. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
  • Did you enjoy this new dungeon?
  • How did the difficulty compare to existing dungeons on Normal and Veteran versions?
  • Did you complete Normal or Veteran (or both)?
  • Which was your favorite boss in this dungeon, and why?
  • What level and build was the character you used?
  • Do you have any other general feedback?

Achievement rewards - Skins/Personalities etc.

In regards to this post,

https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/456130/please-do-not-lock-sunspire-skin-behind-a-million-achievements

Should Achievement based rewards be hard to access like it is now ( do one no-death, one speed run and one HM) or much easier to access (one HM or vet clear)?

Points to note, raised in the linked post:

1. Most of the player base can never finish all the achievements (old players, lack of experience etc.)
2. Whole point of a reward is locking it off behind difficult content.
3. It's just cosmetic.
4. SPOILER: Upcoming trial will have hardmode for each boss, making it much more difficult to get the associated reward.
5. Game should be fun and rewarding
6. Game should be challenging, tough and rewarding.
7. It is observed that full length trials have rewards for vet clear, mini trials for HM clears and group dungeon for HM/speed-run/no-death.

Just want to see how divided the forum community is on this matter :)

Why do you play a female character?

$

Many female characters in game with the most feminine outfits and names, all the details with lipstick, personality, etc. are played by guys. My wife asked me why do so many guys play females? I play a male character. I didn't really know why. I said in jest, maybe they had a sister and didn't get to participate in the doll dress up stuff when they were growing up?

I know some say "because I like how they look", but many she's encountered take it to another level and then she finds out on discord it's a guy and she's really surprised.

In all seriousness:
1) Why do you play a female instead of a male?
2) If you're a female do you play male characters? Or is this a 1 sided sort of thing?

Set a higher CP requirement for the newer vet DLC dungeons.

Been trying to do vet MHK. I know you shouldn't even attempt this with PUGs/randoms, but your chances are nonexistent when you keep getting guys in the 300s that struggle to do 15k dps. Yes i'm aware it's possible to complete these dungeons at 300 cp, but only if you get carried. My reasoning as to why the cp requirement should be higher is quite simple; if you had a full group of 300cp players, they wouldn't even be able to make it past the 1st boss.

The same goes for CoA2 and players in the 100s. A full group 100 cp players wouldn't be able to complete this dungeon.

You should be looking to make the gameplay experience better for players, not more frustrating. This is not only unfair to players capable of doing a dungeon like MHK, but also to those players who get thrown into it at 300cp. Everybody will end up wasting their time.

What Order Should I Do ESO's Story Arcs? - A Guide

$

Since One Tamriel, players have been able to go anywhere and do anything in Tamriel. This makes for an awesome open-world sandbox style adventure in the vein of past Elder Scrolls games, but also messes with quest and storyline continuity something fierce.

Add to this post-One Tamriel world zones from DLCs and Chapters, and the world gets very confusing for anyone who wants a coherent, cohesive, immersive storyline that spans the entire continent.

This write-up is aimed towards new players wondering "Where do I begin so I can experience the great stories that ZOS wrote into ESO without being completely lost?" I'll try to avoid spoilers as much as possible while explaining the rationale for quest order. If you just want a list of quests in order, I highly recommend this resource: http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Quests

Starting Tutorial: The starting Tutorial changes with each Chapter. If you own only the base game, you will start in Coldharbor. If you own the ESO/Morrowind, you will start in Morrowind. If you own Summerset, the most current Chapter, you will start in Summerset. There is no option to change your starting location from these places. If you skip the tutorial, you will end up in the ending region of that tutorial (Starter Island, Morrowind, Summerset, respectively.)

Getting Started

The Vestige
Important Spoiler Below for the Coldharbor Tutorial/ The Hooded Figure Quest
The Player Character becomes a soul-shriven Vestige with no soul in the Coldharbor Tutorial. Many quests in the base game zones and some quests in the Daedric Wars zones will acknowledge this. Therefore, I highly recommend that you complete this tutorial as soon as possible after starting a new character. You will need to wayshrine to the starter city of your alliance, talk to the Hooded Figure and complete the Coldharbor Tutorial quest so you can get started on that portion of the Main Quest. Starter Cities are: Davon's Watch, Stonefalls for the Ebonheart Pact; Vulkhel Guard, Auridon for the Aldmeri Dominion; Daggerfall, Glenumbra for the Daggerfall Covenant.
What if I want to roleplay a vampire/werewolf?
The shrines for vampire and werewolf are found in the Rift, Reaper's March, and Bangkorai. You can hunt for NPC mobs of werewolves and bloodfiends or you can do what I did and ask for a bite in zone chat. Many players will give a bite for free. I got mine quickly by offering to pay for it.

From there you have a choice of two major Content Arcs: Molag Bal's Planemeld or the Daedric Wars

Molag Bal's Planemeld
This arc takes up the majority of the base game zones and the Main Quest. It precedes the Daedric Wars arc chronologically.

The Daedric Wars
This arc takes up Morrowind ->Clockwork City -> Summerset Isles, though each is designed to be able to be a standalone story. This arc is after the Planemeld chronologically but can be completed beforehand with minimal immersion problems.

Daedric Wars: Morrowind, Clockwork City, Summerset Isles
Since its the most recent content, let's deal with this first.

Chronologically, the Daedric Wars happens after the player has completed the Main Quest of the Molag Bal's Planemeld Arc. It also happens after the Orsinium DLC, which has an easter egg from the end of the Coldharbor questline and another easter egg foreshadowing events in Clockwork City. Nevertheless, players can experience the Daedric Wars arc without having completed the Planemeld or Orsinium (which has very little bearing on the arc).

Morrowind, Clockwork City and Summerset Isles are designed to be standalone. I think they are better in their chronological order. Morrowind serves as an extended prologue to the events of Clockwork City.

Molag Bal's Planemeld: Alliance Zones, Coldharbor, Fighter's Guild, Mages Guild, and the Main Quest

The Main Quest starts in the starter city of your alliance when you talk to the Hooded Figure and you'll experience the original Coldharbor tutorial. This will dump you on your alliance's starter island(s). Starter Cities are Davon's Watch, Stonefalls for the Ebonheart Pact; Vulkhel Guard, Auridon for the Aldmeri Dominion; Daggerfall, Glenumbra for the Daggerfall Covenant.

From there, the pre-One Tamriel order goes like this:
Starter Island(s)
1st Zone (start fighters and mages guild, start Haborage quests for Main Quest, writ certifications, etc.)
2nd-5th zone, doing fighters guild, mages guild, and Main quests as you level up, until you've finished your alliance, guilds, and stopped getting Main Quests.
When you get the "Messages Across Tamriel" quest, you'll gather the 3 faction leaders and prepare to assault Coldharbor
Do the Coldharbor quests. These are prerequisites for completing the Main Quest.
Complete the Main Quest
Talk to Cadwell about doing Cadwell's Silver and Cadwell's Gold which are the other faction's questlines.

Alliance Zone Order

Ebonheart Pact has a fairly fragmented storyline, but there are a few events that will only make sense if done in order (technically Deshaan and Shadowfen could probably swap around without a problem).
Chronological Order: Bleakrock Isle -> Bal Foyen -> Stonefalls -> Deshaan -> Shadowfen -> Eastmarch -> The Rift

Daggerfall Covenant is also fairly fragmented, but has more characters that carry through from zone to zone. (Technically, Alik'r Desert could be done at any time after Stormhaven, story wise.)
Chronological Order: Stros M'Kai ->Betnikh -> Glenumbra -> Stormhaven -> Rivenspire -> Alik'r Desert -> Bangkorai

Aldmeri Dominion has a very coherent and cohesive storyline with tons of recurring characters. Please do this questline in order or you will be very confused.
Chronological Order: Khenarthi's Roost -> Auridon -> Grahtwood -> Greenshade -> Malabal Tor -> Reaper's March

DLC and Other Zones:
  • Cyrodiil: Cyrodiil is a PVP zone, where the quests are very simplistic and have little to no story, due to the risk of fighting enemy players. It happens concurrently with the Planemeld and before the White Gold Tower dungeon.
  • Imperial City: the Imperial City is a PVP zone with a PVE/PVP main quest. The main quest will involve questing in PVP-enabled areas with lots of miniboss NPCs. White Gold Tower dungeon makes a nice conclusion to the IC main quest (though that dark anchor still doesn't close.)
  • Craglorn: Craglorn is part of the base game but has its own problems apart from the Daedra. Several parts of the quests strongly advise getting a group of players together to complete them.
  • Dungeons and Dungeon DLC: aside from White Gold Tower, none of the dungeons have any impact on the storyline as a whole
  • Gold Coast: Gold Coast happens after the Planemeld and has recurring characters from all three Alliance storylines
  • Hew's Bane: happens after the Planemeld, I don't believe it has recurring characters from the alliance storylines?
  • Orsinium: happens after the Planemeld and before the Daedric Wars Arc. This has an easter egg for something at the end of Coldharbor and an easter egg foreshadowing Clockwork City and coming after the end of the Main Quest. I highly recommend doing Orsinium after doing the Daggerfall Covenant questlines.

So what if I really miss or want to have the pre-One Tamriel Questing Experience?

1. Start a new character and wayshrine to your Alliance's Starter City
2. Accept the Main Quest from the Hooded Figure
3. Complete your Alliance's Main quest in order alongside the Fighters and Mages guild quests for that zone, and the Harborage quests for the Main Questline. Originally the Main Quest progressed at every 5 levels, but now its not necessary to wait.
4. Coldharbor Questline is the prerequisite for completing the Main Questline.
5. Having completed the Main Questline, accept Cadwell's Silver and Gold to experience the other Alliance questlines.
6. Experience the Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Imperial City, and Orsinium DLCs and Craglorn, in whatever order you want.
7. Begin the Daedric Wars plotline with Morrowind -> Clockwork City-> Summerset.

Its entirely possible to have a great and fullfilling questing experience running around doing everything in whatever order you want. Its an Elder Scrolls game in that regard. If, on the other hand, you want to experience the coherent, cohesive, immersive storyline of the Elder Scrolls Online that spans the entire continent for the first time since TES: Arena, following the chronology of the original pre_One Tamriel ESO through the threat of the Planemeld and onto the rising threat of the Daedric Wars is one of the best ways to do so.

I hope you have fun questing through ESO's story arcs!

The Aldemeri Dominion appears to be the weakest

I've noticed that whenever I enter Cyrodiil, we're losing the most ground. And when I see other's games on YouTube the case appears to be the same. I've come to the conclusion that the Aldemeri Dominion is the weakest of the three factions.

I blame the Wood Elves.

Best race and class for two handed weapon DPS character?

Hiya,

The next character I am thinking of making is going to wield a two handed sword or axe... I am wondering what folk think is the best race and class for a two handed DPS?

What weapon do folk feel is a good option to run on the back bar? Just another two handed? Or change it up?

Any suggestions for good set combos for a double handed weapon DPS?

I have some ideas in mind but I would love to hear what more experienced folk think :)

Thanks!

What's considered good DPS?

$

So, I was visiting a guildmate's house, and he had this target dummy (the Precursor). Just for the fun of it, I decided to attack it, and when it was defeated, I got a message that told me my DPS. This came as a surprise, but I'm not sure what is considered good, what is considered adequate, what is considered bad... So, I don't know where I stand.

In case you're curious, I did 3265.0 DPS in 1m39s with my Restoration Staff and Templar spells... Mind you, I was just fooling around, I'm sure I could do more.

Why has ZOS stopped giving crown crates? @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_RichLambert
Beardimus wrote: »
It's stuff...for free. Scrolls, crates etc. Free. Strewth. There was a time we got nothing.

It can't be 100k and a free home every month.

There was also a time where I'd pay the subscription and all this crap (including the cosmetics) would be rewards for playing the game. Now it's a game with an "optional subscription" which isn't quite as optional as people like to say it is on top of timed cosmetics, loot boxes with undisclosed odds, paid quarterly DLCs, annually released retail expansion packs and a $80 "collection" which is still missing 4 dungeon DLCs and the Clockwork City/Murkmire story DLCs... Soon to be 6 dungeon DLCs and a third story DLC by the end of this year.

Now I'm expected to buy the chapter every year on top of crowns for cosmetics I like on top of a $15/mo subscription? If I weren't so stubborn, I'd be paying far more than I did when the game was subscription-only without the benefits of a subscription game.

"Free stuff" is such a cop-out.
