Some more magsorc questions

1. I have a staff that deals 1037 damage for level 22; the other action on the staff states it deals 1326 physical damage and restores 225 stamina. I have a glyph that deals 2587 Lightning damage. Can I put the glyph on the staff? I presume it overwrites the basic 1037 damage, or the 1326 physical damage and restores 225 stamina? If it only overwrites the later, it would seem that it's a nice damage increase, and since I use mag, I don't care about the stamina return. Or can you not put a glyph on a staff with abilities on it?

2. Does the damage on a staff, i.e., 1060, change as you go up in level? Specifically, does it go down. It seems in the past week or so, the damage number on my staff changed. I'll try and track it to confirm this.

3. I'm aware of the "Y" pet command and how to use it (Attack command). However, I'm now playing with the volatile familiar and it has a special ability that I can activate. How? I'd really like to do this as his ability is increased lightning damage and also an AOE. Or does he use it automatically without me giving a command?

4. Any problems with a magsorc wearing heavy armor? I'm playing the skill line where your abilities are lightning-based and you have to be within 5 meters for one of them to work. Most of the time, the enemy moves towards the player as you're hitting him with your abilities, so then that turns into melee range, instead of ranged, which is not my strongest ability. I've been wearing a mixture of 3-4 heavy (with health), one medium, and the rest light armor with magicka; I've also put two points in health. In my inventory, I have more heavy armor pieces, and rings/necklace with additional health that I can swap out if necessary (although that would decrease my magicka). I have purple and gold-colored glyphs that I can put on heavy armor. More than enough to increase health and magicka wich is already over 27K for my level 22 magsorc. My heavy attacks return more than enough magicka, so I can play around and decide an effective mix between health and magicka armor (all heavy). I also get all the skyshards, so I've been increasing all the passive abilities as much as I can, plus I've allocated my CP points to support this character.

5. The ability Wall of Blockade (hope I have the name correct?) is supposed to concuss enemies, yet I never see them stopping or whatever it's supposed to do, they always walk right to me without any problems.

As I have 15 characters and do not plan on deleting any will there be more characters slots add for the new class. And now that race change is going to be need on like 10 characters I’m get those for free right? Or is it just a cash grab?

As a player who has been stat and skill cut off from acquiring such things I'm glad to hear just beating wrathstone malatar vet dungeon gets you the skin.

I've always thought that for just paying and playing the cosmetics should be unlockable without jumping through extra hoops.

My question is this I want the worm cult personality from dragon bones with the upcoming necromancer class finally being a thing I'm tempted to buy it but beyond having to get a team to beat it and on vet no less it's still tied to accomplishing a bunch of vet achievements same as shaman skin, same as werewolf sable skin etc.

Can we the casual players expect a retroactive change to these cosmetic skins/personalities where just playing through it on veteran difficulty will be enough to get it?

I hope to hear an official comment as I love to role play in eso I love all my character's to be just that "characters" to not just be a collection of stats and perks a calculation to some never ending quest for an edge in combat.
I want them to have a story, to be a part of something for friends and strangers to look and say he put thought and effort into this I wonder if he plays up that look as a character really immerses himself.

Every character I have is it's own person outfits, emotes personalities, skills playstyle I cater them all to how I play them be it a charming khajiit nightblade in thieves guild armor, or an altmer donned in Maormer gear wielding the storm elements they are known for a outcast from them finding his place amongst the normal races, or My dinner Vampire dk a master of sword and bow forged in the fires and ash dunes of morrowind granted the gift of immortality used not as a curse but as a way to ensure his work alongside his high elf werewolf templar friend of protecting tamriel from threats at home and abroad may be pursued diligently to bring the warring factions to some measure of peace (and more than a few coop vampire and werewolf playful banter to be had along the way)

With the upcoming release of necromancy and previous undead themed mounts, pets, skins, and personalities there is alot of potential for my new future idea's to take root.

So please make it easier for us roleplayers and adventurers to immerse ourselves in the bold and rich lore we love so much to become puckish rogues, dashing heroes, wicked villains, or any number of unique and created self made pocket stories that make up this online world.

A humble request from a fan since original elder scrolls 3 Morrowind goty a game that changed my life and sparked a love of fantasy games that has endured and blossomed with every beautifully crafted world I've set boots claws and paws in since!

StamSorc by far has the least usable passives and buffs/debuffs and needs to be looked at

I'll start by saying I've played my StamSorc as my main (primarily PvP but also some PvE) for nearly two years now. StamSorc as it sits on live right now I feel is in a pretty good place overall in the games current meta, at least for PvP. It is far from the best Stam class, but is not nearly as under powered as a lot of people make the class out to be. I feel there just needs to be some slight tweaking and the class can be very close to on par with the top Stam classes. My two largest concerns are from the lack of applicable passives available to it along with lack of buffs/debuffs compared to other classes. When you combine these two categories StamSorc is severely lacking.

Lets look at all the Stam classes in ESO and compare what classes have passives that are and are not applicable to a STAMINA based characters. I'm primarily looking at this from PvP side of things in terms of what is "normal" to be slotted. However most of it is still applicable to PvE as well. Also the excuse of "Sorc isn't a Stam class" doesn't fly. All classes can be played as Stamina or Magicka. Plus in ESO lore there is a thing called a Battle Mage which is a perfect example of a StamSorc.

StamSorc: Dark Magic, Blood Magic is useless unless you're a negate StamSorc running the damage morph and Exploitation is only useful for group buffs. So 2 of the 4 passives here aren't really applicable. Daedric Summoning, Rebate & Expert Summoner is useless and Daedric Protection is almost useless since bar space is at a premium with the 3rd Overload bar being removed it is hard to justify Bound Armor or wasting an Ultimate slot on your bar for Atro can be hard to justify. However I will count it as an applicable passive.. (8/12 applicable, or 7/12 applicable if you don't have Bound Armor slotted)

StamDK: Every single DK passive can be applicable to a StamDK. (12/12 applicable)

StamBlade: Every passive in Assassination & Shadow is applicable to a Stamblade, and three of the four passives in Siphoning are up in the air depending whether or not a Stamblade is using Leeching Strikes/Siphoning Attacks or Power Extraction. (9/12 applicable but possibly 12/12 applicable)

Stamplar: Every passive in Aedric Spear is applicable to a Stamplar, In Dawn's Wrath, Enduring Rays and Illuminate aren't really applicable to a Stamplar, although Illuminate a group buff for your group members but for the sake of this I'll say it isn't applicable. In Restoring Light, all are applicable, but one could make the argument that Light Weaver really isn't applicable unless the Stamplar is running Remembrance back bar, so let's say it isn't applicable. (9/12 applicable but possibly 10/12 applicable)

Stamden: Animal Companions, Bound with nature is really the only non applicable passive in this line. Winters Embrace, Piercing Cold isn't that applicable to a Stamden however since Stamdens do use Permafrost a lot that 6% damage is a nice buff to that, so I'll call it applicable. Green Balance, since Stamdens run Soothing Spores a lot in PvP every passive here is applicable. (11/12 applicable passives).


Based on passives alone, StamSorc is clearly at the bottom, this wouldn't be such a large problem if they had a ton of Buffs/Debuffs in their tool kit. However this isn't the case and StamSorc has the least amount of Buffs/Debuffs in their tool kit. I think the best bang for the buck change for StamSorc is to make Bound Armaments apply a specific buff or debuff that is actually useful, possibly making your next light attack apply major fracture to the target OR when activated it gives Minor Brutality or possibly Minor Berserk. Not only would this give StamSorc access to another buff/debuff but it would also make justifying Bound Armaments to get the Daedric Protection passive worthwhile.

In terms of reworking the other class passives, I would be open to ideas but at this point any sort of useful passive would be welcomed.

Yes a class "spammable" would be nice. However I really don't think it would be necessary if the class passives and buffs/debuffs it had access to were tweaked.

Dealy Strikes + Relequen + Master's Weapons

I've been testing out Deadly Strikes in many different combinations on my stamDK on the PTS, and have now found two combinations using it that parse higher than the current live meta of AY + Relequen + Velidreth.

One - the vMA DW setup that uses Rapid Strikes as spammable, is parsing higher for me on the 6 mill dummy. Others have tested this as well and came to the same conclusion.

I just finished testing out a similar build, using Master's DW + Master's Bow / vMA Bow on the backbar, and it might be even better....

Here's the setup:

Race: Redguard
Class: StamDK

Gear:
Head & Shoulders : Deadly Strikes - divines, max stam enchant
Body armor: Relequen - divines, max stam enchant
Jewelry: Deadly Strikes - all bloodthirsty, weapon damage enchants
front bar weapons: Master's DW Daggers - MH Nirnhoned, OH Precise - double dot poisons
back bar weapon: vMA Bow OR Master's Bow - Infused, weapon damage enchant. ( they are within 1-200 dps of each other margin of error )

Rotation and bar setup is the exact same as is with the standard AY + Relequen + Velidreth on live.

This setup works super well with that rotation because the spammable is Rending Slashes, which gets a single tick between each strike.

That one tick is now empowered by +14% damage over time from Deadly Strikes 5pc bonus + 1350 extra damage from the Master's DW.

My initial results are looking really good, parsing at least 500 dps higher than I was with the vMA DW setup ( maybe due to the rotation being more difficult ), and at least 2k higher than the live meta setup.

Give it a shot!

Deadly strikes is making me a happy experimenter right now. I think that we are going to end up with three possible setups that will all be within 1% of each other.

Choices are good. Now we just need an alternative to Relequen for single target.

Parse and superstar screens: ( I am not an expert level player. Only been playing ESO since October, I'm sure others will be able to parse much higher than me with this setup )

I know Elsweyr still has several months, but I want to make one thing clear in regards to its trial, Sunspire. DO NOT LOCK IT BEHIND LUDICROUS ACHIEVEMENTS. From what I understand, each boss will have a hard mode. This is an interesting idea, especially with a full trial. However, I do not want to see the skin being locked behind an achievement of doing all hard modes or something idiotic like that. Just keep it behind a vet clear, Maw of Lorkhaj or Halls of Fabrication. Please, no BS or nonsense with certain achievements for trial skins.

This forum is doing more harm than good. People see no responses or no action on what they report. This can lead to less players reporting issues, loss of confidence in Community Support/Developers and less sales of ZoS products in the future.

Either:
  • Close this Forum.
  • Hire someone to read, evaluate, reply, relay info, & close threads.

A thread of currently known issues updated once a week wouldn't hurt either.

ZOS please stop flooding us with trash like crown potions, poisons, repair kits, soul gems etc., Im tired of deleting the stuff. Just replace this rewards with normal currencies like gold, AP and Tel vars (as in other rewards) and we will buy what we want ourselfs

Suggestion: Would it be possible to keep physical implosion the same for people with a higher max stamina stat and keep the amplification the same for people with a higher magic stac? That way I can kill people in PvP with 30k health and 7k healing/second with ease while retaining my identity as the physical class? Is that so hard?

This monster helmet has been over performing since it came out and there hasn't been a single change to it.

What about this set makes it seem balanced to zenimax? There's 24 man groups who run 6 Earthgores+ and cannot be killed without similar numbers and similar Earthgore.
It just ruins tactical PVP in every aspect because no matter what your guild decides to do against these 24 man ball groups, nothing can be done. Negate can negate earthgore, yes, but it still procs on top of it and doesn't disappear. There isn't a single thing in the game that counters it, so why not just get your 24 man raid to run 6+ earthgores. I mean hell, you could have every person in a 24 man in earth gore and there wouldn't be a single thing in the game that could kill them.

I just want to know why, and what it takes to get it fixed because at the moment it's ruining PVP for a lot of people.

I don't know if I was running into the same teams in BG or not but last night I ran into a few with increasing frequency that were using Negate or Suppression Field. I thought my melee magplar was hot stuff until it happened again and again, and then I realized that I didn't have an answer to it. As soon as I step back into the fight, someone pops negate and in seconds I'm dead again. How on earth do I counter this? There has to be a counter.
