One big "hint" that Argonia may come, eventually.

$

This is grasping at mighty fine straws, but there's one thing that's been in the game for as long as I've been playing, if not the entire time since launch that's pretty much a big hint that ZOS will, eventually, release The Elder Scrolls Online: Argonia, even if the hint itself is so inconsequential and therefore easily dismissed as a coincidence, but if you disregard how far fetched it is, it's actually pretty logical. And that thing is this road leaving the southern border of Shadowfen.

1dK4D4u.png

I mean, why is it there? Most other Zones don't have roads that go nowhere (out of bounds to us), the only exception I know of being the north road out of Arenthia that goes up into the Colovian Highlands, but even though we can't actually travel that road, we did still indeed get a DLC zone set in Colovia. Sure you can argue that the Devs just put that there as a way of saying "yeah this is the road the locals would travel to go south yadda yadda" just for immersion purposes, but then, why don't other zones have the same thing? Why isn't there a road in the southwest Rift that heads through the pass to Helgen? Why isn't there any roads in southern Alik'r that lead to the rest of Hammerfell? Why isn't there any roads in the south or east of Reaper's March that go into the rest of Elsweyr etc.

That single road makes it seem like it leads, or is going to lead somewhere, and on the world map, that area is Black Marsh proper. So, disregarding how far fetched it is, it's actually a pretty decent clue the Devs left us as a placeholder, telling us that someday, we're going to get The Elder Scrolls Online: Argonia, and we may be able to use that road to access the new zone.

Cyrodiil Performance Test and Double AP Event

$

Hey gang!

As you saw in Matt’s 2017 roadmap, we are making Cyrodiil performance evaluation and fixing a priority this year. We want to make sure that Cyrodiil is a great PvP experience for everyone. Over the last year, we’ve made some good strides towards refining server performance across all campaigns, and we will continue down that path.

When looking into Cyrodiil issues, we definitely see (both in-game and through monitoring) situations where client and server performance degrade significantly when under high load. The small incremental changes we’ve made over the last year have helped, but they alone are not enough. So, we’re going to change our strategy a bit – which is the point of this post.

Simply put, Azura’s Star (the non-Champion Point campaign) runs much better, more efficiently, and is overall a much better PvP experience than the standard campaigns such as Trueflame or Haderus. Now that we’ve had a significant population density in Azura’s Star, we strongly suspect what has been theorized for a long time: Champion Rank passives and abilities are causing too much server load, especially in situations like Keep battles where there are tons of players in one place.

Because of this, we are going to run a series of PvP performance tests, and because it is impossible to simulate PvP load on our internal test servers (or on PTS), we will do this on all live servers on the dates of February 27 – March 6. This is not something we take lightly, and it is important that we evaluate performance when the server is under real-world load situations.

Our first test will be set up as follows:
  • For a period of one week, all Champion Points will be disabled on all Campaigns on all platforms and megaservers
  • During this time, AP gains in all Campaigns will be doubled, both to compensate for lack of CP and also to incentivize players to PvP so we can record as much data as possible
  • Campaign durations and leaderboards will not be adjusted during this week
We encourage all players to continue their PvP activities in their respective Home, Guest, and Friends campaigns – we will be taking feedback and monitoring data on a daily basis during this test, and look forward to reading your constructive posts about server performance during the time of the test.

The results of this test will determine the next course of action for refining Cyrodiil server performance. Thank you for your perseverance and patience – we thoroughly appreciate your time, efforts, and feedback!

Thanks again, and see you in Cyrodiil!

Teabag Etiquette

Fine, if you trash me 1v1 or if we have evenly matched groups or whatever then go ahead if that's your thing. Idk what it is but lately I'm getting a lot of players who 4-5 gank or mini Zerg me 1vX and then teabag. Last one tried to explain to me that their attack did the most damage. What?

So in PvE, spell penetration is BiS.
Precise is considered junk
Nirnhoned is considered junk

So in PvP, Impen is BiS, aka crit defense

???If crit defense is OP in PvP, why is Precise (crit attack) still considered junk and Sharpened considered BiS in PvP scenarios???

Note to Developers.
People complain nothing to do, do not just balance skills. Balance traits too. Aka make reinforce better, make nirnhoned better, make precise better.
Do not make Sharpened BiS for everything, in 90% of scenarios aka build setups.

ZOS how do you justify charging this much for a character name change? Are you serious? At least give us one free change per toon. I went to look at it today figuring it would be like 500-700 crowns tops.

Changelog: Revamped the Build into something completely different for Homestead.

iwtitle.png

A lot of people asked questions about a strategy that is safe and fun to play because they are struggling with the arena.

With this toon, I completed nearly everything in the game: flawless vMA, vDSA, every vet trial including vMoL (it actually puts out enough damage for it), hardmodes and no deaths in vcos and vrom. This build is ment to help people clear the arena as easy as possible in under 50 Minutes. Any recommendation on how to improve this further is welcome.

Here is a full flawless run video with the BiS-Version of the Build:

Race:

Altmer is best due to additional elemental (especially shock) damage and max magicka, dunmer (since SotH) and breton would be your second and third choice.

And any 5&5 combination of aether and necropotence is fine here. So if you have the right aether weapons, use 5 necropotence body and jewelry pieces and 4 aether. Necropotence can be purchased, so it is a lot easier to achieve.

CP Distribution:

Green Tree:

100 in mage
85 in arcane
2 in tumbling
13 in Tenacity

Red Tree
70 in bastion
Rest evenly Spread out between thick skinned, hardy and elemental defender

Blue Tree

65 in elemental expert
30 in elfborn
30 in staff expert
75 in thaumaturge

--> lightning staff benefits from all four of those trees. Liquid lightning and blockade benefit from Elemental expert, Elfborn and Thaumaturge and do get empowered a lot as well. The trade off is overload. With more points in elfborn/elemental expert, overload will hit harder, while the heavies and dots suffer a little.

Bar Setup:

Main Skill bar:

iwmain.png

Empowered Ward, Elemental Blockade, Twilight Matriarch, Volatile Familiar, Inner Light
Ultimate: Shooting Star/Thunderous Rage

Back Skill bar:

iwback.png

Power Surge, Liquid Lightning, Twilight Matriarch, Volatile Familiar, Inner Light
Ultimate: Energy Overload

Overload Bar:

overloadbar.png

Empowered Ward, Power Surge/Daedric Prey, Twilight Matriarch, Volatile Familiar, Inner Light

Usual strategy:

Keep Surge, Liquid lightning, the volatile familiar pulse and blockade up and Heavy Attack your way through. Shield every now and then. It's as simple as that, stuff dies really fast, especially in AoE situations. Stuff just melts! Save your Ulti for Bosses and Difficult Rounds. This applies to stages 3 and 5 in particular because of all the adds.
What's with the pets?

Pets got buffed a lot with Homestead. They are basically free DPS as they act as companions that choose targets and take them down by themselves. Plus, they take aggro from you. I'm not using daedric prey because enemies in vMA simply die too fast to make it really worth running. Bosses melt fast enough without it. If you plan to use overload, put daedric prey where power surge is and keep it up to buff you buddies.

Also, Pets are immune to a lot of Mechanics in vMA, such as the lightnign Water, Spinning Blades etc. You can actually get through without having to resummon them more than 3 or 4 times (argonian behemoth kinda kills the familiar in enrage phase). So basically, it's like doing vMA with Bud Spencer and Terence Hill.

For low health mobs, don't bother putting down liquid lightning, as they die too fast with blockade and heavy attacks.

DPS Parse (just me, Bud & Terence):

iwdps.png

Few additional things:

1. The difference between the staffs is that heavy attacks with lightning and resto staffs are channeled. For this build, this means that EACH tick of the attacks gets the crushing wall buff and puts on the minor vulnerability from aether, thhis adds around 5-6k dps alone.
2. Necropotence Gives you huge Shields and Buffs your Pet damage a LOT. You can push past 30k dps easily with the 5 Skills in this build.

3. Forget the usual sorc ressource management issue: With this build, you can run arund with nearly no mag recovery as you get a ton of ressources back from your heavy attacks.

4. Sorcs get an original buff of 5 % to shock damage.

Issues:

The only issue is Mobility: As long as you channel attacks, you have reduced movement speed. I didnt have any issues with this, but you need to adapt your gameplay to it! Especially in the last round on top, you need to stay cautious for the fireballs dropping down.

So go in there and melt! B)

Against my better judgment, I will give this one last go. I believe that, for the most part, the discussions have been fun and enjoyable. I feel that I've gotten to know some people on other factions a bit, and it is cool being killed by someone you recognize! :) Anyway, let's stick to talks of builds, funny stories (like the time I got jumped by 8 AD as I rode across the bridge and they bashed me to death as I fell out of my chair laughing), map strategy, which in game snacks you prefer, and of course... Ice trebs.

Just decided to start a new char from scratch on NA server and errrm.

Prime time hours CST que's

Monday. EP-40 < DC- 35 < AD-150>
Tuesday. EP 35 < DC 25 < AD 100>
Wednesday EP 30< DC 35< AD 90>
Thursday EP 40 < DC 40< AD 110>
Friday EP 45 < DC 30 < AD 95>
Saturday EP 37 DC 29 AD 124

Well I don't have Sundays cuz well it's Saturday.

So am I missing something here. AD has had pretty much a que of 100-200 from 530pm to 9pm CST but yet EP and DC have held a very low que.

If they were actually players the que would be going pretty smooth and jumping 5's 10's and so forth. Not 1's. So call me a *** or whatever but I'm suggesting that EP/DC are logging AD toons into que and than logging there main toons to go pvp.

Now someone is going to say well the pve'ers. Well if I was a pve'er and I seen that que I wouldn't go to TF. I'd go to AZ or had. It's common sense. So no i don't think it's pve'ers clogging the AD TF que.

It's some smart-ass that thinks clogging the que to prevent pvp AD to pvp. Just like they did the last 3 campaigns when EP's que was 250+ than AD was 100+ than both AD and EP was 100+ while DC has remained less than 50 or so on the last day of the campaign. It's called common sense when que's start getting insane and the other faction has no que.

FPS drop over time

At start, all is ok, but after 2 hours of playing mass pvp on Cyrodiil, my FPS is halfed.

I go on a spot, got only 43 FPS.
I leave the game, re-launch it : my FPS return to normal with 87 fps.

I tested this on 2 computers with nvidia cards, with last drivers (mine is 660 Ti, other is 560 Ti) and same problem occure on the 2 PC.

My computer is I5 with 8Go Ram, windows 10 x64.
I'm in communication with ESO assistance but they do not seem to know where the problems come.

Some help would be apreciated, thx.

I sit on about 2 million exp worth of enlightenment and I though to consume some of that by doing a random normal dungeon on my templar healer.
Wayrest II it is. I get a lvl 46 tank Sorc who is doing quite good, a lvl 48 DK who only uses breath fire and searing strikes with light attack spam as far as I could tell and a 146cp magicka NB who's only spamming drain power.

Just for reference: on the 1st boss I did my usual rotation of reflective light, elemental blockade, ritual of retribution, purifying light and a few healing spells here and there and I already got up to 30% of group damage according to combat metrics in about 10sec.

Once I saw that I refused refused to heal - if I as a healer do this much of my groups damage in mere 10sec there is something major going wrong.
I told my previous observations to those 2 players and while the NB was completely silent the DK was like "You're like the first flamer I've ever seen in ESO" and "pathetc kiddo" and proceeded to report me.

You already are limited to only 12 skills and you proceed to only use 2 at best - and you get angry when people point that out?
Guess your normal quests don't require you to actually learn how to play - light attack spamming might even be all you need combined with some sort of healing.

Furniture Material drop rate feels a tad too low.

$

So, I think all in all I have looted over 100 wood nodes tonight and I have only 5 heartwood that's dropped for making furniture. I am not sure this is worth the work, at least, I am not having fun anymore and I am utterly overwhelmed at the thought of how long it is going to take me to make a tables and chairs (between 6 and 10 per piece), let alone beds, wardrobes and counters.

Usually I don't mind a daily grind (for basic materials or to stock up for writs), but wanting something badly, so I can go craft, usually isn't this tedious or dull. I think they need to increase the rate in which these nodes drop their resources. Does anybody feel the same? Has anybody had more luck? Is it just terrible RNG? Should I complain about cancelling my sub to not really do it and just throw it around as an empty threat because I actually love the game? :P

During the last ESO Live stream, I remember Brian starting up the point saying : "We are going to double the AP gain for killing and healing players.." then he made a short pause, I told myself, nice. He made the right move. Then he kept going ".. and we are also doubling the AP gain for capturing keeps, outposts and ressources." I facepalmed and knew he just ruined endgame PVP.

My group have been running since the servers came back up. Made around 750k APs in few hours. We just got emperor. This is going to get even worse. Everyone are and will be earning easy PVP ranks, some will even be Grand Overlord by the end of the week, ruining the efforts of everyone who got GO already.

People are not even trying to defend objectives anymore. They wait until it flips to push the flags and flip it back to get maximum AP.

That was a big mistake imo. RIP endgame PVP.

So I got married. I've had the Pledge of Mara hanging about since 2014 and decided to get hitched to a friend. It wasn't true love - it was a marriage of convenience. Convenient XP to be precise.

However........ Having tied the knot and slipped on our wedding rings, we found.......nothing.

So, is the whole Mara / wedding thing a total bust? Is it broken? Does it know that I married a cat purely for the extra XP?

I want to give a big THANK YOU to everyone who is contributing to this thread/project, you all rock!

This is an on-going effort to make certain that all books listed in the Eidetic Memory are accessible to all characters, so that 100% completion of the Eidetic Memory may be obtained (between DLCs of course!)

There are a few problems that arise that cause books to become inaccessible:
1. They exist inside an area only accessible while the character has the quest. Reading these is not a requirement on the quest.
2. They are a quest item, they may start the quest and/or be read during the quest, but after the quest they have no location in the world. Some of these MUST be read in the quest inventory while on the quest in order to register.
3. Phasing. Some areas in the world change as the character progresses the story in the area and some books are only seen before the story is done.
4. Alliance restricted (this applies to a very few books that only exist within the alliance bases in Cyrodiil)
5. Other

Some books don't glow. Depending on the environment this can make finding the book very difficult. I will be adding any I locate to this list so a glow can be added in a future patch.

Last but not least, Community help to locate missing books. It would be great if ZoS could confirm books the Community cannot locate are actually in the game:)

General Eidetic Memory Problems
:
  • Skinchanger (New Life Festival) is in the Eidetic Memory but not available
  • Hollowjack (Witches' Festival) is not in Eidetic
  • Yokudan motif chapters have the Breton motif text
  • Instead of "Order of the Hour" it says "Hour Order"
  • Grim Harlequin is not in Eidetic, I know it is Crown Store only, but it means that those who do buy it cannot re-read it at will...I don't know a good solution for this.
  • Request: Could motifs be put into a separate section, like Shalidor's Library has its own section, could Motifs be sorted this way as well?
  • Request: Please make Imperial City bookshelves respawn more often (currently 5 days to change and 5 different groupings; ty @Oldbushie )
