Current state of Stamina DK

So I wanted to open discussion on the state of the Stamina variant of the DragonKnight clas give my opinions and concerns give suggestions on improvements and gain view points from others.

*** Warning long post TL:DR at the bottom***

Atm the Stamina DK is in a questionable spot based on the classes own kit and not other influences, they do great in some aspects of the game and do poorly in others, I would like to add suggestions on how to improve its problems in poor performance.

The Problems:
- low build diversity
- Black and white choices and weapon skill line dependency

low build diversity ( The class seems lack any sort of unqiue stand out skills that defines the class like other stam classes out there, we got 3 stamina morphs Noxius breath, Venomous class, and Corrosive armor. Cool skills, but have some draw backs to them. Two of them are Dots, highly effective in endgame pve but terrible in Pvp and to add salt to the wounds one of the dots is useless (Noxious Breath) in endgame pve since it applies debuff that the tank should be using. Corrosive armor although great in theory is a little impractical in Pve situations 100% armor pen is great but most high end raid guilds will have almost if not already achieved this through group debuffs.

sDK has no choice but to be a weapon class since that's where it gets most of it main source of damage from.

Take flight and venomous claw are left-
Venomous Claw is a great dot that is used well in endgame parses but is underwelming in PVP, Similarly Take flight is a great burst skill but is weaker than DB. These two morphs are the best morphs Stam DK has to at least have an identity.)

Black and white choices ( This is generally a stamina problem( vMSA Dw/Bow dps meta) but more so effects the Stamina DK more than any other class speaking from a PVP perspective here. Lacking in both Aoe and single target dmg in their own kit the Stamina Dk is more dependant of weapon skill lines than the others, Although steel tornado is the best AoE stamina NBs aren't pigeonholed into using DW for AoE as they have one in their kit, same with templars, Stam sorcs are a little effey but the have one stam morph that offers
- Speed buff
- AoE damage
- Armor buffs
- Implosion passively
- WD passively

Being a stamina DragonKnight but not being able to use 90% of class abilities effectively lowers your options on how to approach situations and how to make a unique build and it doesn't help when you're tied to weapon skill lines that don't fully provide the missing class skills depending on the content. Templars, NBs and stam sorcs to an extent can mix and match class skills and weapon skills effectively.

Infact because stamina dk lacks a class spammable and weapon skill lines don't offer great ones in their kits many have turned to Proc sets to deal decent damage in PVP and PVE to remain competitive.

Solutions:
- More class based AoEs
- Improved Single target spammables in weapon skill lines

Class AoEs ( More Stamina based AoEs would go a long way to rehabilitate them from their weapon skill line dependency, I suggest two
- Choking Talons ( Dark Talons morph )
- Deep breath ( inhale morph )

Choking talons already deals physical damage It would be great if it cost stamina instead of magicka would help Stamina DK tanks and just Stamina Dks in general support allies by locking down targets.

Deep breath is the interrupt of inhale, I see this as a great opportunity to convert it into a Stamina morph for decent AoE damage without having to go dual wield, Make it cost stamina and deal poison dmg and maybe rename it to 'serpent spores' this is the morph I would most likely appreciate the most.

More single target damage options ( We have to be careful here as Stamina DK can deal very high Dps in endgame dungeons the goal is to not widen the gap for stam build dps, but to offer better options than proc sets etc. A stamina whip would be great but not nessiary imo.

2H - change the Wrecking blow morph to be usable in PVE for decent dps( lower cast time and damage). Remove the bleed from cleave and its morphs and up the base damage. Reduce the cost of Berserker strike and morphs to 125 from 150.

SnB - Great start with Power slam as a potential dps spammable but the cost it too high bring it down by about 18% and it will be in a better spot.

Bow - Change Focused Aim to be useable in pve dps skill ( lower cast time, travel time and damage),
Reduce the cost of toxic barrage to 150 from 175 ultimate.

With some class based AoEs and some weapon skill line improvements the Stam DK can hopefully have class based options to do AoEs and not depend on weapon skills so much like other stam classes do, at the same time small weapon skill line changes will help sDKs be a little more flexable. If you have opinions or suggestions let me know I would like to hear.

TL:DR
Small little changes would help the Stamina DK get some flexibility and give them options that are missing from their kit making them so much more dependant on weapon skill lines than other stam classes. Hopefully these changes will help break a way the need to use external damage sets.

CP Should be Greatly Nerfed or Redesigned Much More Wisely

Almost every normal player I know, skilled or not, likes this non-cp PVP experience better. CPs have created cancerous builds that are destroying the PVP experience. Non-killable tanks, permanent cloaking nightblades, permanent dodge rollers, and no skill one-strike rookie hunters are EVERYWHERE! PVP could have similar problems without CPs but in a much much much smaller scale, and basically CPs are making the PVP a joke.

Grim focus sucks

I'll be straight here, this ability seems good on paper but it's really not, Grim focus gives a buff that you should already have in a group (minor berserk), of all the stamina rotation i find the nb to be the worst of all of them, mostly because of this ability, same for magicka nb, also this ability is a 20 second buff, which usually doesn't fit well with dots, you will almost always have to cut some of the duration because of this, also it only hits 1 time, which also sucks, this ability would be so much better if the bow could be fired every 4 light or heavy attacks, it doesn't even hit for that much, cristal fragments hits for a similar amount, but you don't have to keep the buff up, and it procs much more.
My suggestion for this ability is to, remove the minor berserk buff, and make it work similarly to cristal frag, which means you don't have to keep up the buff, and every 4 light attacks you can proc the bow.
Or keep the buff, and the cast, but instead of only 1 bow per cast you can use as many as you can fit if you manage to weave your abilities perfectly

Finally Conformed to Heavy Armor Meta and Whoa...

This week I got sick of being too squishy in my medium armor for Stam characters, and light armor for my magicka ones. It was simply not survivable and barely viable anymore with the power of individuals constantly going up due passives (fire destro passive) and CP increase. I reluctantly made the choice to switch to heavy armor, and people were not exaggerating about its strength. Compared to medium armor, my damage stayed the same, my sustain is dramatically better (despite my regen dropping to about 900), and my survivability and vigor ticks are much higher. This was all without sacrificing a single thing. A lot of people are saying heavy is only strong when paired with procs. This simply isn't true, heavy armor is very strong on its own.

Now the reason I'm making this post is not necessarily to ask for a heavy armor nerf, but rather a buff to light and medium armor to make playstyle with those armor types at least viable again. I like a variety of playstyles, but with heavy armor being an obvious choice for most pvpers, light and medium armor setups and playstyle are becoming more and more obsolete, which is causing the entirety of pvpers to all have tanky similar builds. Light and medium armor passives don't need to make you tanky as well, but they do need to offer something better (other than crit which isn't too important in pvp) than what Heavy has to offer. I don't think heavy armor needs to be nerfed, but light and medium need to have something that at least makes it appealing.

Vet Maw of Lorkhaj - Broken on Xbox One AGAIN!!!!!

Maw on Xbox One is broken again. Same exact problem as last time Maw was broken on xbox for 3 months. Please do not allow this problem to persist. It is very frustrating. Please fix this.

Most of our group DC'd on the add pull right before the first bosses door. Last time, Healing Springs and Extended Ritual were the things that caused major DC's...

We persisted through the first DC, and attempted the first boss. Well, first boss gave us a mechanic we saw a few months ago.... 4 Disconnects.
Second attempt: 12 DC's through the whole thing, no springs or rituals were used, somehow beat it...

This update is great, but roll it back if you're going to break Maw. The one trial all the top guilds compete and try to progress in is broken again, and last time it was just Xbox. This time, it's likely just xbox too. Please, please, please, fix this, and don't take 3 freaking months like last time. Console players matter. Xbox players matter.

We will try going through the whole trial and I will update this post as we go. But PLEASE FIX THIS

Short research: How much FPS? (ESO utilization rediscovery)

I'm trying to find out what are the bottlenecks from hardware regarding performance in ESO and I've read some stuff where it's noted that ESO is mostly bottlenecked by CPU single-threat performance. I guess it's a lot more complicated than that but I'm curious in performance with Vsync off + ULTRA settings on 1920x1080 (I can include higher resolutions if you want to share but it does add another variable to take in account).

So basically what specs are you running? CPU, CPU clock, #cores+threads, releasedate CPU, RAM amount, memoryclock (thus noting which DDRX) and GPUs + #VRAM (if multiple, pls note if there's difference in performance regarding with/out SLI or comparable). Goal is to optimize ESO further personally and see if it's worth it now or can wait until the octo-core era where AMD keeps putting on pressure on Intel.

Regarding FPS I'm only interested in the minimum and the average in the following situations:
Roaming around when leveling outside cities and few players (thus could be anywhere);
Dungeons (thus 4 players small instance);
Craglorn/Mournhold/Rawl'kha @ tradecenters or very crowded area;
Cyrodiil massive Zergfest.

I'll post mine below as a layout and short example for what I'm looking for.
I do expect that someone with an i7-7700k OC'ed to 4.9-5.0 ghz hits the highest; even with an older GPU so if you have one or know someone who has something like that I'm very curious what those numbers are.

Homestead Blues

Thanks for releasing your editor, albeit a simple version, as Homstead. It really must have saved some costs. However this should really keep us online. Well that is except for the fact that I got the blues though. I have had to reduce my Homestead involvement with master writs to one character, because the vouchers are not account wide. Any chance of this changing? Soon?

The other thing is that the prestige furnisher, Zanil Theran, only turns up in Coldharbour. The guy is advertised at Dragonstar, along with the two other vendors under the scales icon. I could not find him. Does he travel each week or was he supposed to be in Dragonstar?

Then there is the low low chance of surveys and master writs. It seems only the equipment writs drop large returns of vouchers, whereas we are luck to see two master writs a week from the consumables dailies. And then the max is 5 vouchers.

Then there is the low caps on what we can place where. I hope that all the busts I should have been granted retrospectively will be ,able to be displayed in Daggerfall Outlook. Ok it is fun doing the dungeon - again, but I worry a lot. You do that when you have the blues.

I got the blues. Maybe I will have a break until Morrowind.

Aiming for a high DPS magicka class - Sorc or Templar?

I am wondering with current meta which class is better for a pure dps role? (both pve and pvp)

I mainly play stam characters but I wanted to roll a mag character this time around and see absolutely no consensus on the forums. Anyone care to answer which one is the better DPS class?

Ranks currently mean nothing, they are useless and provide 0 indication of skill, what if there was a new system based on your k/d or overall kills? its still cheeseable but not as bad as it is right now

I was unable to get logged in tonight after work, kept getting ERROR 200. Found this work around and got right in. Hope it helps!

Go to Zenimax Online File in your Program files. Open Launcher File. Rename Program Data to Program Data Backup.
Then go to your ESO Launcher, let it update. Close launcher, reopen and should let you in.

Good luck all! This worked for me, so hope it helps.
Huzzah!

Bugged Sets

I make this thread as many less common sets are bugged and I'm sure that others found bugs for sets that haven't been reported. So please add any set you know that is bugged to give ZOS an overview what they have to fix.

Briarheart: This set has a cooldown of 1 second for the healing that isn't mentioned in the tooltip.

Essence thief: The rune buggs out every once in a while making it impossible to see or impossible to pick up . The recovered stamina is also lower than the amount mentioned in the tooltip. If you pick it up the visual effect on your arms may dissappear.

Overwhelming surge: The proc reveals hidden enemies just like infernal guardian did before homestead.

Grothdarr/Velidreth/Kra'gh:
All these sets can proc when you receive fall damage or stand in lava.

Pirate Skeleton: The minor defile from this set can be purged

Swarm mother: It chains you through walls and procs also when you block some dots

Phoenix: The healing doesn't proc reliable after the invincibility ends and leaves you with 0 health on the battlefield resulting to an instant death.

Just decided to start a new char from scratch on NA server and errrm.

Furniture Material drop rate feels a tad too low.

$

So, I think all in all I have looted over 100 wood nodes tonight and I have only 5 heartwood that's dropped for making furniture. I am not sure this is worth the work, at least, I am not having fun anymore and I am utterly overwhelmed at the thought of how long it is going to take me to make a tables and chairs (between 6 and 10 per piece), let alone beds, wardrobes and counters.

Usually I don't mind a daily grind (for basic materials or to stock up for writs), but wanting something badly, so I can go craft, usually isn't this tedious or dull. I think they need to increase the rate in which these nodes drop their resources. Does anybody feel the same? Has anybody had more luck? Is it just terrible RNG? Should I complain about cancelling my sub to not really do it and just throw it around as an empty threat because I actually love the game? :P
