Gap closer snares

With our speed and immunity nerfs in murkmire and then again with rapids I can’t find any justification for 60% snare from 30% on gap closers which bypasses snare immunity and expedition.

1. Let the gap closer go from x to y
Y being the location of your enemy when you casted skill at x.. don’t snare your enemy at all. If it doesn’t land that’s fine you already get to train after them for far cheaper than it would be to sprint.
If it hits it hits.
2. Alternatively follow the person with your gap closer until it lands but don’t snare them. Besides that’s just more distance gained for you.
3. Cost increase like streak to gap closers.

Gap closers aren’t effective in large scale combat zerg ball v zerg and they aren’t an issue in duels.

Where they will be oppressive is when you are outnumbered and have multiple enemies spamming gap closers onto you which means you will be permanently or an extremely high uptime of 60% slower than your max speed.
This is crippling for anyone solo. Groups that are outnumbered and trying to kite/move

Conveniently nb ambush has minor vul debuff on their gap close and magblade has a stronger dot on lotus fan. So now while you are being spammed by arguably the most effective skill for zerging you’ll also Be taking 8% more damage from everyone’s incoming range.
This doesn’t even include being spam pulled by chains/portal/leash.

Goodbye movement.

We are a social PvE/PvP guild with lots of experienced AND unexperienced members that loves to hang out.

We host events such as Map runs, Trials (learning, normal and Veteran), raffles, PvP (Cyrodiil, IC(s), BG's), dungeon runs and so on.
For the Cyrodiil and Imperial City (sewers) events we rotate the alliances so one week we have AD, another DC and so on. We are a AD guild though :kissing_heart:

We welcome everyone no matter experience in the game.

Our roster are filling up fast but we do have a few spots left :smile:

Backbar Weapon Meta for Healers is a lightning staff. Tell me why.

I've healed forever in this game, and a loooooong time ago, I switched to a lightning staff backbar. I use my backbar for some debuffs and buffs. I keep altar on there since altar is a percentage heal, wouldn't benefit being on a healing bar vs. a resto bar. I do use Ele Drain (a destro skill), but have replaced that with Radiant Aura, since that applies to areas around me. Now, I also use Elemental Blockade to set enemies off balance, but that got nerfed a few patches ago.

So, why am I still using it?

I preface this by saying I play all the roles, all the classes, and I objectively am seeing that DKs--unlike literally every other class--has one viable role: tanking.

I sure can't get into any kind of end-game content with a DK dps (mag or stam), or with a DK healer. However, every other class at least has some role flexibility--Wardens make decent tanks and healers; NBs are ok tanks and healers, excellent dps; Templars are awesome healers and magdps; sorcerers are great magdps but can tank and heal well.

But DKs? If you're not tanking, nobody wants you.

Isn't that kind of counter to the intended goal and making all classes viable for all roles?

And yeah, I know that DK dps and healers CAN work in less rigorous groups and content, but there is clearly a balance issue when DK dps get laughed out of vet trial groups for briniging subpar dps and no group utility to the table. Maybe we can get some kind of unique or interesting group buff?

This is the official feedback thread for the Necromancer class. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
  • What are your favorite and least Necromancer abilities, and why?
  • Do the Necromancer’s visuals and themes feel unique compared to other classes?
  • Do the Necromancer’s abilities and playstyle feel unique compared to other classes?
  • Did you enjoy the Necromancer’s corpse generation/corpse spending gameplay?
  • Did you receive a bounty for using “Criminal Act” Necromancer abilities in towns? If so, what are your thoughts on the experience?
  • Were you aware certain Necromancer abilities were considered “Criminal Acts” prior to using these abilities in towns?
  • Does the Necromancer feel faithful to established lore and themes in The Elder Scrolls?
  • Do you plan on playing a Necromancer as your new “main” character when Update 22 goes live?
  • Do you have any other general feedback?

I don't know if this should be in the bugs section or not, but since those usually get ignored and buried anyway, I thought I'd ask the community.

Has anyone else noticed the Frozen Simulacrums from the final boss in vet Scalecaller walking around now? It's just been the last few days that people have been seeing it, and I saw it myself last night, and it threw us for a loop for a moment. Is this a new feature that didn't make it into the patch notes?

I've been playing this game for five years now. In that time, I've developed a lot of relationships and friendships with many players.

Don't force me to abandon those friendships.

I have multiple guilds that I play with. My AD guild plays twice a week. My pals on DC play on two different nights. Both groups play the same server, because that's where the fights are.

Your re-introduction of faction locks will force me to choose one of those two groups to outright abandon and no longer play with. *** that. *** that so much.

Several years ago we had this debate. Your team elected to remove faction locks after recognizing that they didn't accomplish much beyond artificially preventing people from playing with their friends.

Since that time, many players have taken advantage of the freedom you chose to give back to us to make alts, play with new people, and join groups on different alliances.

Don't fragment your community even more than it already is. I can't believe you had to bring this back up, when the issue was settled years ago for the better.

Edit:

Lock rewards to the first faction you log in on, fine. I'll live with that. But don't outright block me from logging on and playing with my friends.

Pugblades

Ok, I'm not really being serious, I just want to rant a bit. Anyways, what's going on? NBs are supposed to be good right? But practically all the pugblades I've come across in the past 2 or so weeks were... not good.

Hear me out, these were in vet dlc dungeons, and I notice I'm doing 60-70% of the dps, sometimes 80%, then I look around and I see said pugblade usually just snipe spamming. Well, either that or dying... repeatedly. And no there were low, sub-300 cp either, they usually ranged from mid 400 to cap.

Seriously not serious, what happened?

this is the wrathstone dlc and supposed to be some superior dungeon? its an abysmal experience , not well designed fights , too many gimmicks and one shots
i dont come to eso for themepark, and know the themepark is bad in this game, but im forced to sit here wait an hour for a queue, to get into a dungeon that healers / tanks immediately quit from, and what then? sit there wait another hour or force myself to play an awful dungeon?

i will quote the tank who was 600 cp in this normal mode dungeon : " I see this come up again I'm out ;p "

Hello all, I really think I could do with some help from BGs experts.
I’ve played a lot in open pvp and managed fairly well also due to the fact that I can play around with a lot of CPs (I’m over the cap).

Joining BGs has led me to a bitter realisation...my stats are crap!!! Either the Crit rate is low or if I raise the damage and Crit rate then I find myself with either stupidly low regent or virtually no defense!!!!

So....can someone tell me what the acceptable numbers are for BGs?
How many much Crit rate? How much penetration or spell/weapon damage? How much resistance?

I was thinking about my magdk: maybe I will need to alter my Heavy Armor build to add more damage through the Light Armor passives.

Very confused!!😳

[PC-NA] Dungeon/Trial Birthday Event issue

Week 1-3 of the event I had gotten several items in each of my anniversary boxes. For example: I would get 1 motif, some alchemy mats, a few style materials, and either a style page, a few transmute crystals, or an upgrade temper.

But...

In Week 4 of the event, I opened up 8 different anniversary boxes today and all I got from each box was 1 item of either 5 clean pelts, 5 heartwood, 20 guts, OR 20 spider eggs...

Is this intended or did the developers forget to add the rewards to this week's boxes? For the last 3 weeks, I had gotten 4-5 items per box and now it's only 1 item per box and absolutely no motifs or style pages. I know it's just the first day but if it keeps going this way since the boxes are now limited (pledges and 1 trial quest per trial), I'm afraid no one is going to get any of the Sai Sahan style pages.



PSA:
In case you do not know, you can only get 1 anniversary box for each trial DIFFERENT trial quest. So, you can do CR, AA, HRC, Mol, HoF, AS, and SO and get 1 box per trial.

But you cannot get additional boxes by repeating the same trial quest.

^^I tested this out by completing 2 HRC and 2 CR and only received 1 anniversary box the first time I completed HRC and 1 anniversary box the first time I completed CR.

The group finder keeps glitching into:

To clarify; I PVP for lulz. I build my characters extremely ugly, named rather annoying things, but I do enjoy doing it, and I've gotten decent at it. I apologize for the jumble of info ahead.

I'm deciding on which character I would want to take into Cyro for an under 50 (Kyne) emp run, and my setup for it.

My best played characters thus far in any sort of PVP have been stam and mag sorc, and magwarden.

As a magsorc: (First PVP, test build) I played kyne, and battlegrounds extensively. I performed very well. (although, under 50s arent a huge show of skill, but when you do 30+ kills, 1-2 deaths. Meh) I was able to reach (Or at least logged out as) 4th highest score in the EP for Kyne last week. My problem: I hated using twilight for a heal. it was more readily available than burst heals. But the slots were too much room on both bars. Negating NPCS/players were also annoying. Especially in close quarters outposts/etc. But otherwise, easy 1vX idea.

Stamsorc: (Used one PVP build, battlegrounds only at that point) The lad was an absolute beast. He still holds my best BG record yet. (38-0)(Yes, I have screenshots.). I absolutely loved playing this build, but I'm not sure how well it'll hold up in AvA verse something like my magsorc.

Magwarden: What can I say? Ice... Permafrost.. heals? Very good performance in BG.

As for gear; I typically craft gear for under 50s. Mag toons usually in Julianos/Iniate Axiom with a random 2pc. (Been using Willows path for extra mag recov)

Stamina is usually: Shackle/Hundings Hundings/Sloads usually with 2pc of Gladiator, for extra crit.

i am mostly a 7-8 trait crafter, and have a 9 trait friend available if they were needed.


i do understand that AvA is also more of a "who plays the longest" type of thing score-wise (I placed 4th, mostly going in solo, joining randoms, and running around for a few hours for a few days)

But, I want to know. What classes would you recommend, gear, ETC. Or are my ideas good enough to survive more AvA than I'm giving them credit for? I played a lot more BGs than Cyro, so I'm trying to revamp my builds for max efficiency in Cyro.

Should ZOS Add Extra Event Days (Broken Dungeon Finder and Battlegrounds Queue)?

I know these threads are coming ... so I wanted to pre-empt it with a poll.

Today's queues have been absolutely horrendous for a lot of players ... and there aren't even any Event rewards for Battlegrounds this week.

Would you like to see ZOS add Event Days due to players not being able to use the Dungeon Finder and Battlegrounds Queue?

By the way, I did my due diligence by warning ZOS ahead of time in this forums thread linked here.

I don't know why I decided this would be an idea, let alone a good one, but I went into my Xbox Live order history to tally up all the money I've paid into The Elder Scrolls: Online since purchasing the game back in August of 2015. It's, really staggering, bit depressing, and enlightening, even when granted these were spread out over the last almost four years of playing. I even broke it down. Starting with the major content purchases, the Base Game up to pre-ordering Elsweyr. These amounts are in USD and all but the Xbox Live gold are before Tax, and all lesser content packs such as the Dark Brotherhood, Thieve's Guild etc were purchased via Crowns.

Base Game: $59.99
Morrowind Upgrade: $39.99
Summerset Upgrade: $29.99
Elsweyr Collectors Upgrade: $49.99

Major Content Sub Total: $179.96

It's interesting to note Summerset was $10 cheaper than Morrowind.

Now onto the purchases that actually made the wallet cry.

Crown Packs Sub Total: $1,426.40
ESO Plus Subscription Sub Total TD: $338.81
Xbox Live Gold Total TD: $261.08

GRAND TOTAL TD: $2,206.25

To put into perspective, that's about $400ish more than my monthly income, spent over the last 3 years, 8 months of playing. When viewed like that, the in-the-moment costs don't seem like much at all. Adding it all together however, by far, makes this my most expensive hobby I've ever had in my life.....and I don't believe I'm gonna stop before the Servers die first.
