Second character reached lv50...and the game turned into a nightmare

I have tried to find if someone else has the problem but so far I did not find anything. This is what happened.

I am a causal player. I hop on and off to the game, as everybody's fixation on the endgame is turning me down. I would like to find others to play along the landscapes, delves and public dungeons and (god forbid) roleplay, but people are not interested in that any more. I have been through this in several guilds, without finding one to suite my play style so I mostly play solo.

My first character is a tank, which can do most things on his own, although he takes ages to defeat most elite level enemies. I decided to try a different kind of game mechanism and rolled for a stamina nightblade, initially having huge problems as on how to survive playing that 'glass cannon', but after developing some key abilities and working around my load out things went fine....

Well until i reached lv 50 with the second character. Now the game scales everything on the CP level of my first character, all my gear is worthless and even with crafting I can not compensate. I can not survive most elite enemies any more, I cant do delves and most quests now pose a problem. So instead of getting a level up, my character now feels completely under powered.

How does one overcome that level and equipment gap? It feels like i have to do a huge grind now, just to get my character back to a kind of standard, which he already had and lost by leveling up, in fact, I feel punished for leveling up.

Any advice on this?

I can't find any details on it - am I missing it? Or does it mean, that the long-time bugs with this ability will be allowed to persist?

Can I still put eclipse on a DK with spiked armor and chain-trigger eclipse when I hit him and his armor returns damge to me?

Does his DoTs on me still chain-trigger eclipse?

Can I walk in his AoE and take damage deliberately and watch my eclipse do damage to him?

Or are these mechanics intentional?

Maybe it should be considered that eclipse can only deal damage once per second?

Look, I know this gets brought up a lot, but seriously it's absolutely ridiculous that on a NORTH AMERICA megaserver, the non-Americans are the ones who get to swing the campaign so hard by capping the map every. single. night.

Do I think Oceanic players shouldn't get to play PC-NA? Not necessarily. Not any more than I think EU players shouldn't be able to play PC-NA, which is to say I think they should be able to but shouldn't want to. PC-EU players have the EU megaserver and therefore no reason to log in to the NA megaserver. It's high time ZOS got it together and made an Oceanic megaserver. It's honestly insulting to both the Oceanic players that they don't have one already, and it's insulting to PC-NA players that they have to give up victories on their own megaserver due to people off that megaserver's own timezone slots.

Nightcappers: as for you, and I know you know who you are, maybe try splitting up factions a bit more. How fun can it honestly be to log in and take the map without a fight every single night? That's not pvp; it's an unfunny joke.

why I, as a long time PvP'r, want a PvE version of cyrodiil (oh here we go!)

I want my pvp to run smooth, and I want to pvp against other pvp players, to that end (and another world reason) I really want a pve version of Cyrodill

first the pvp side:

I want pve'rs out of my pvp zone, I don't want people taking up pop cap on any faction just so they can go do quests, get skyshards, do dungeons, etc. the same reason imperial city is getting its own queue, overland pvp wants the players exclusively in it and contributing to the alliance war in some fashion (or AFK in keeps, you do you)

to this end I would like it if in the pvp version of cyrodiil:
-dungeon access was removed
-overland mobs were removed
-resource nodes were removed

this is all pve stuff that does have an effect on performance (remember the great deer purge to reduce lag) just get all that stuff out, remove those calculations on the server and let us just fight.

for the pve side

I want the pve version of cyrodiil to not be an alliance war queue but a part of the overworld map and the gates opened up on those respective zones connecting to cyrodiil, I want to be able to walk from eastmarch, down into the rift, into cyro, through cyro, down to the rawl gate, into rawl, to malbal tor, and into greenshade. it would be really cool to be able to actually TRAVERSE through the world to various alliances without having to use shrine, I really think this needs to be a goal for the zones going forward (except where you HAVE to take a boat, obviously) its called one tamriel, make it so!

this version can have dungeon access, the overland mobs, resources, town quests, etc.

Events causing burn out in friends.

I've noticed that quite a few of my friends on ESO are suffering from what I would call burn out during these events. It wasn't so bad when it was only a week here and there, but with the events being 3+ weeks long, it's very noticeable. We used to do fun things together, level up characters, PvP, farm materials, etc. During these long events, they log in to complete whatever they have to, on as many characters as they can, and after that's done they don't feel like playing anymore. Two of my friends have just stopped logging in, and chose to focus on other games instead. I understand that this is individual, and not everyone feels 'forced' to do all of these things during the events. I still can't help but wonder if this is healthy for the community. I personally ignore most events, but I'm not as invested into this game as some of my other friends.

What is your opinion? Can there be too many/too long events? I personally feel that it's reaching that point.

Nightblade Dark Cloak changes

I am a nightblade pve tank main. Dark cloak is the only reliable heal that a nightblade tank can use. As a tank when you are taking a lot of incoming damage you need a burst heal not a heal over time. I would rather see the minor protection removed from dark cloak completely but have an instant heal dark cloak with a heal over time attached to it. I dont mind the amount of total healing i just dont want it spread out across 8 seconds when I need a burst heal NOW.
Dragonknights have green dragon blood and coagulating blood for burst heals.
Sorcs have the clanfear which heals for a huge amount of max health upon instant cast.
Templars have tons of burst heals that are instant cast.
Wardens have arctic wind which has a burst heal with a heal over time attached to it.
Necromancers have their scythe ability which heals instantly for a percentage of max health.
Why cant nightblades have a burst heal too?
I wish it was something like heals for 36% of your max health instantly. Or even something like heal for 15% of your max health instantly and 15% of your max health over 3 seconds.

The minor protection is not why this skill is used. It is used for the healing. Nerfing the reliability of the healing will make it pointless.
If you want minor protection on a tank you can use circle of protection(fighters guild) or slot temporal guard(psijic ult morph).
I went on pts today and my dark cloak tooltip was like 2k healing per second for 8 seconds. That was with my standard pve vet trials tank setup.
4.5% max health healing per second when you have about 40k health is only 1800 health per second.. What are nightblade tanks supposed to use now??

Odd Stuttering on good PC

My build

So, I get these weird stutters on ESO, they are not consistent but I'd say they last for like 300-700ms each and happen every few seconds for a few minutes. They eventually even out.

I also get a very weird fps range, when I first start the client it's locked at 100fps, then in game it's around 60, but when this stuttering happens it barely makes it above 36fps.

Restarting ESO fixes the issue entirely and fixes the FPS too, or at least until it starts back up again.

I am not sure how long it takes for the issue to start up after a clean launch, but I don't really close ESO often.

Any ideas?

love to fight, carry scrolls, gank, defend, attack, pour oil on folks, repair keep walls til your fingers bleed - this is your thread...

love hearing big and little battle stories, as well as observations concerning the interaction between the alliances in this campaign - who doesn't love a good bridge fight...

big IC fan...at this point i wanna apologize right now for anything weird or crazy i may have done in IC (or for any future stuff)...I'm pretty laid back in cyro - IC has a way of getting me fired up on occasion...

hmmmmm, is it really true cyro reveals whom you want to be, and, IC reveals who you truly are...

I saw a post saying that 99% of ESO’s population would get angry if ZOS fix the unintended feature of animation cancelling. I don’t think that number is accurate at all so I just want to see what you guys think.

I’ll be happy to see it gone... if you cancel the animation, the damage or heal doesn't go out.

Yesterday was the first time I finished it in one sitting. I hated that place so much it made me anxious like nothing else in any other game. But I cannot appreciate enough the design, the mechanics and the overall awesomeness of this place.

I think it's one of the most brilliant activities in any game. Few things push you that hard.

Making Healers Relevant Again

The purpose of this thread is to provide community feedback and ideas for how dungeons (present and future) can be updated or designed to make healers more relevant to the content (as the title suggests). Seeing as devs are regularly revisiting dungeons and weakening bosses, reducing adds, etc (not addressing the core issue of dungeon difficulty in my view, but it is what it is), I don't see why retro fits can't be introduced.

The main gripe you often hear is centred around 'One-shots'. I'm not arguing for the total removal of all One-shot mechanics; they add difficulty, they can enforce mechanics, and make for reactive strategy; but the sheer volume and number of sources are a major issue in current dungeon design -- and seeing as they often exceed the amount heal-able, more dps is preferred in many cases in order to progress faster. A rethink would be to instead of apply x damage, apply a 'wounding' debuff on target that does x/y over time (e.g. instead of single hit of 45K, 12Kps over 4 seconds). This makes a healer's role more necessary as that buff becomes purge-able(?), and the damage recoverable over time, despite the actual effect still doing decent enough damage to retain difficulty.

Self heals are in a good place in terms of cost vs effect, and dps or tanks slotting heals do little to outweigh the applicable power of a dedicated healer (considering additional effects and buffs).

Any other thoughts?
