Why Does Incap Still Have Reave?

Title says it all. Stamblade does not need more sustain. Even in PvE it's unnecessary.

If Reave doesn't get moved to soul harvest you'll find most magblades going back to Incap if they weren't there already. Feel free to take the defile off. Magblade has enough ways to secure kills

Magblade survivability was already bad. Then you nerfed an already disabled class by removing its damage (minor berserk) and giving it a bad migitation buff? How is that logical? Magblades needed heals to survive.

I also didn't notice much about the changes to cripple cos I was testing a different build on the pts. The major expedition nerf from cripple was totally uncalled for. It hurt the class in so many ways knowing magblade already had really bad mobility. I'd understand if you had any legit reasons of nerfing cripple but none. Do you guys just make major class changed on a whimp?

Some people will say magblade has good mobility cos of shade. But shade has been bugged for ages now and it's very unreliable.

Cripple was the only good gap closer magblades had, and you took that away. Now how do we execute our burst from range? Lotus fan has been buffed by only an idiot would use lotus fan on a pure ranged destro/resto build.

I want to take a moment to applaud for your brilliant insight. I guess the nerfs to a dead class makes sense since you had the brains to give silence to incap. Thanks again for the lovely game with a biased excuse of class balancing by killing bad classes and buffing good classes more.

I hope someday the devs realize the game isn't just for them but for the entire community. So buffing their own main classes and nerfing already bad classes isn't a good thing.

Healer or DD looking for players for PvP or PvE content

Hello,

I recently returned to ESO and therefore i am looking for some chilled players who are interessed in clearing some vet dungeons and trials or running some battlegrounds on 2-3 evenings once a week (around 8 pm UK Time)

I can offer 8 CP810+ characters (healer or dps), which are all well pve or pvp equipped and i do have a headset (english and german speaking)

I want the idea of Silence on Incap to be completely scratched and for Zenimax to work on Incap throughout the last week of PTS again, why you ask?

Because Incap at 120ult stunned before and that was something that was supposed to stay on incap in the first place.
Silence came with the removal of Stun because it was considered strong enough...

Now Zenimax made the Silence work like a stun which doesn't even completely disable characters like a classical stun would, so on paper it's just a *** stun :neutral:
Stamina characters don't even have to break it free resulting in giving them free CC immunity and Magicka characters can dodge roll before any follow up damage happens and break free then...

I never liked the idea of Incap having two effects depending on the cost, now I will have to avoid using Incap at 120 ult due to me not wanting to give my enemy free CC immunity...
Ultimatively can we just remove the Silence from Incap and let it be?

Since I just moved here from Kyne where our forum thread was always an entertaining read, I was pretty disapointed not to find similar thread for this campaign, just a couple of disjointed QQs. And so im starting one :)
This is to be a big cross-alliance chat, full of salt, drama and unlikely friendships!


And so, I'll start with few observations, from a point of expereinced PvPer, but newcomer in SS, EP side.
Current population during active hours seem to be into EP's favour, which is a bit unfortunate for a guy joining, since its always more fun to play underpopulated faction. Still I like that other 2 factions are active enough to not let EP dominate but instead keep pushing back and keep PvP going!

Campaign seems a bit worse in regards to nightcapping. What amazes me tho, is that it seem to be going on on all 3 alliances roughly in the same amount. EP capping few days at the end of evening, others later at night and in the morning.. Altough I'll never understand ppl taking scrolls from NPCs at 4am, i must say: if it doesnt kill the PvP enjoyment at primetime, go slaughter those NPCs! Show them who's best! :P

And finally, since im moving here along with a guild, Im interested to find out names and activity of other guilds playing in SS :) Ive met some EP ones alrdy but im interested in knowing what DC and AD groups we will be fighting.. so far we have seen a couple of good ones, and we are very much looking forward to wiping you after we settle in! :D




Alternative idea for Werewolfs

Ok, so request for no time limit for Werewolf in PvE got pretty mixed reactions, so I was thinking about other ways how werewolf players could not get screwed by scripted events or the desire to actually listen to quest givers:

So my idea is: While crouching, the werewolf can press X, like he can when he is near a fresh corpse, and he enters a "Stalking" channel until you move again. While stalking, you regain Werewolf time, not as much as you get from feeding on a corpse, but like 50% of it.

Since you have to root yourself for this, it cant be abused in PvP, you cant use it in battle or anything.

All this would change is to make it possible to just sit there and listen to the beautifully scripted conversation that happens before you, take your time to listen to a quest giver, explain a boss strategy, wait for AFK players or just take a toilet break, without wasting your 300 Ultimate transformation.

If The Werewolf animation bugs are every fixed, this could even get a sniffing animation...

Incapacitating Strike: The Silence from this ability can now be CC broken, and cannot be activated on targets who are already affected by a CC effect.
Note that this change is exclusive to Incapacitating Strike, and will not apply to other Silences, such as Negate Magic, since those are area effect-based pulsing durations, versus instantaneous duration-based effects.
Developer Comment: As mentioned in the 5.0.3 patch notes, the goal with the change to Incapacitating Strike’s conditional bonus was to tone down some of the shut-down mechanic to it, since Silences are essentially stuns that allow the target to continue moving, blocking, and dodging. We are aware of the nature that Silences have in terms of effectiveness on varying builds, which is why we found the ability to CC break this effect would be an ideal compromise; it still has the counter play options of a traditional stun, but no longer needs to always be broken.

How about we get some abilities that hurt stamina builds but are harmless to magicka builds for a change? It's not enough that magicka builds have already had negate only affecting them and were lacking counters to roots and slows, no the magicka bashing has had to continue ... . We are 5 years into the game and we are still waiting for a "Silence" equivalent to stamina builds.

Princely Dawnlight Palace Lighting

I bought the Princely Dawnlight Palace a while ago because I love the geometry and symmetry of the Redguard patterns and architecture. I have just gotten around to decorating it, but this place has been a challenge to decorate for multiple reasons:
  1. Size: You pretty much have to decide to focus your attention on the outside or inside. 700 items really isn't enough and I'm sure many have posted about this here.
  2. Configuration: The house has a lot of levels and staircases in, sort of, the wrong places making it difficult to build larger vignettes.
  3. Lighting: The most frustrating part of this house is the lack of ambient light inside of the palace.
I have pretty much all of the furnishing patterns and have been researching the lighting options; this post on Reddit had a great analysis of them. The only problem is that the best lighting options aren't in the Redguard or anywhere near Redguard style.

A lot of folks are using the Varla Stone, Glowing and the Culanda Stone, Glowing to light the main hall because these are so bright. They're nice, but they're also heavily tinged blue or amber. I'd like to have a neutral light that is somewhere close to the style of the house.

TL;DR;

Dear Devs,
Could the windows in the palace have some neutral lighting come from the actual windows? The artwork for the main hall seems to suggest that was the original intent.

If we didn't have to invest so many of our inventory slots on interior lighting, then we'd have more for the fun small furnishings.

[BUG] (PC) Reduce cost enchants + poison on bar

When you have any jewelry enchanted with "reduce stamina/magica cost" together with poison equipped, and you change location - after you load in new location your reduce cost enchants will loose like 90% of its potency (this can be checked by looking at your skill cost before and after).

If you have same enchants, but you change location without poison equipped on current bar - this bug won't happen, and it will restore originally intended reduce cost bonus after loading in new location.

If this bug already happened, in order to restore original potency of your enchants, you should: 1) unequip poison 2) unequip jewelry enchanted with reduce cost 3) reequip jewelry 4) reequip poison (or switch to bar without poison on it, and unequip, then reequip jewelry). But when you change location having your poison equiped on current bar - this bug will occure again.

This bug happens when you change any location - except ressurecting and porting inside Cyrodiil. For example it will keep happening when you change districts inside Imperial city, or jumping rom Reaper March to Rift.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_JessicaFolsom can you please take a look into it, because a lot of people have no idea they are experiencing this gamebreaking bug. Thank you.

Just curious to know how many MAC players have tested the upcoming release on the PTS? Any updates on how the PTS server is working for MACs?

Rending Slashes' direct damage needs a damage increase to be in line with other DOTs.

Lets compare some ability tooltips here. These are taken with approximately 4800 weapon damage, 32.8k stamina and with the Slimecraw set.

(And remember that the PTS rending slashes has its initial bleed damage tick delayed so you can no longer spam it and have those bleed ticks happening. The main reason why it is used in PVP now in live is because you can spam it and get those bleed ticks between each use. Its snare is also often made redundant especially in group situations (which is what the majority of PVP takes place) where AOE snares are a lot more effective, and its increased PTS DOT damage is countered by its increase of the PTS DOT duration. And these new AOE buffs will not stop these DOTS from being used as a potential spammable).

(I'm also on a DK so its important to take into account the 2m extra range on rending slashes and claw)

RS compared to Carve:

Carves direct damage portion does about 31% more damage than rending slashes direct damage.
Carve is a 7m AOE cone, rending is a single target 5m ability.
The difference in DOT damage is marginal. The carve DOT can also be applied to multiple targets at once unlike rending slashes. Carve DOT is also bleed damage!
Carve can be greatly boosted by the masters weapon; it has far more DPS potential than a masters dual wield rendings would ever have.
Rending slashes is cheaper...and it also gives a 4 second snare for a 10 second DOT, its only real positives compared to carve.

RS compared to Obnoxious Breath:

Noxious does about 34% more damage than rendings if you compare the direct damage portions.
Noxious is a 10m AOE cone, rending is a single target 5m ability.
Rendings DOT damage is about 20% more than Noxious, but the Noxious DOT can be applied to multiple targets at once. The Noxious dot is also poison; so while It can be mitigated, it is able to proc poison status effects which can increase the damage.
Noxious gives major fracture to all targets hit.
The snare from rendings is only a little better than the Ardent flame passive snare you can proc with noxious.
Noxious is cheaper with DK passives.

RS compared to Venomous Claw:

Rendings does 15% more damage than claw when you compare both the direct damage portions.
Claws tooltip DOT is about 9% more than rendings, but when you consider the fact that its damage increases with every tick, Claw begins to do noticeably more damage than rendings. It usually ends up being about being 30% more DOT damage after a full DOT duration (at least in my case).
Claw is less than half the costs of rendings after DK passives.
The snare from rendings is only a little better than the Ardent flame passive snare you can proc with claw.

My proposal is to increase the direct damage portion of rending slashes where the sum of both those direct hits is about the same as Carves direct damage. Rendings has not only taken a big hit due to the delayed initial bleed tick, but it also made noticeably weaker compared to other newly buffed abilities. This way If rendings were to do the same amount of direct damage as carve, the difference is that rendings would be cheaper and provide a snare, but carve is an AOE with greater range (except for DKS) that is able to effect multiple targets at once. It is important to take into account that the target may have major evasion which can reduce carves damage, but AOEs also cannot be dodged and they are useful for taking NBs out of stealth as well.

Noxious direct damage would be a little more, but it also gives major fracture and is a DOT with 10m cone range. Its DOT is a little weaker, but against multiple targets Noxious has greater damage potential than rendings.

Rendings would do about 50% more damage than claw when it comes to the direct damage portion, but claws DOT is also a good amount stronger, also procs a snare, can proc poison status effects, and is less than half the cost as well.

Edit: Grammar. And forgot to add the snare when comparing rendings to carve.

Many years ago a group of Starfleet officers from the USS Overlord were pulled through a wormhole and crashlanded on the planet of Nirn. Unable to get back they made their lives here in the land of Tamriel.

SRS was started in March this year when changes to Star Trek Online meant many players left. It turned out that a lot of us were also ESO fans and so we formed this guild. So if you are a refugee from any other MMO you are more than welcome here. ESO features more a thousand times more exploration than STO ever did and is a far better and more polished MMO.

We now have more than 50 members and are actively running events in the evenings and sometimes during the day at weekends. We are based in the UK and have members all over Europe and as far away as Australia. We are a mature group of adults with a laid back attitude to gaming, absolutely no drama or pressure from anyone. We will always help members achieve their goals in the game if we can.

We have a well used Discord server with slots for other games, STO, WoW, Fallout etc, you can access it from our webpage.

We have an open policy on the bank and people are free to withdraw as soon as they are promoted to member. Recruits have one week probation period.

Contibutions

Guild Hall

The guild house is the Hunding's Palatial Hall in Stros M'kai, a tropical island renowned for its Dwemer ruins and mines, including the Orrery Observatory. In its central town, there is a Palace and the Temple of Arkay as well as underground Catacombs. To the South of the island lies Saintsport. This area has beginner-friendly quests.
The guild house has all crafting facilities available and will soon have a banker, there is also a smuggler for those, ahem, less than legally acquired items.
To travel to the guild house just right click on my USERID @Mathius_Mordred, and visit the primary residence, travel is free of charge.

We aim to become dungeon masters, master crafters, experienced trials groups and more. Have fun folks.

Rebuttal to “top tier pvpers griefing”

Toxic pver’s, farmers, and housing people all talk down and belittle pvpers when they try to show interest in those things. You don’t just let the new pvpers into your trials, they have to meet a litany of requirements or dps tests and even then... but it’s understandable, because that’s the content. Same can be said for PvP

And now you knowingly enter the domain that is pvp to farm for items to earn a fake outfit. And you want it handed to you, you want it freely, you don’t want to earn it. You don’t want to learn how to survive, to learn how to pvp. You don’t plan to come back. You are just entering this zone to feed an addiction. A zone that has litttle to offer, besides an experience that many of us enjoy. Then you call us “griefers” because you chose to enter our area and don’t want to play the game you entered.

You pvers don’t want to pvp. If you did you wouldn’t pvdoor zerg the map and saturate it so that it’s all one color and one faction pop locked. If you wanted to pvp you wouldn’t attempt to jump off cliffs or towers to prevent a pvper from the killing blow. Climb the tower in crops and attempt to jump off rather than fight to only learn you can’t jump off that tower... lol you never planned to pvp at all...

You don’t have to pvp to get top tier pve gear. PvPers have to pve to get the best pvp gear though and we have to earn it and figure it out. You are coming here for an item you may never even use.

We will take advantage of the opportunity to earn easy ap, to see how many bad pvers it takes to bring us down, and to kill as many as we can with the best kdr we can because we are playing for an experience.

Just like we pvpers don’t get a free ride in your trials, you’ll not get a free ride in our campaigns, where the name of the game is Player vs Player.

The Tavern Maid Costume Showing some Leg

Yet another casual clothing Costume, yet another cosmetic being dragged upon the ground by would be adventurers.

The Tavern Maid dress has so much potential in it to be more than just a situational attire. I LOVE it's simplicity, its low cut shoulders, and that really pretty choker pendant. But then below the waist it follows in the design pattern of every other dress in this game. It falls to the ground doing it's best to trip up it's wearer and get dirtied in the muck and slime we adventure through. If you've seen any number of films where the adventurous heroine is forced to don a high society dress only to rip the bottom off to give her legs more freedom of mobility, you'll understand why I took a pic of the Costume into a photo editor.
