New player, have some general questions
I played ESO for a month on PC back when it was first released but didn't have time to play it beyond level 15 due to working two jobs. I'm back to one job so I finally got time and then I couldn't decide if I wanted to do console or PC. I tried console first on an xbox one I had and was reminded quickly why I prefer playing elder scrolls games on PC(just little things like keyboard/mouse option and mods and yes I know you cant do mods on ESO cuz it's an MMO). I didn't really learn how to play the game on xbox because I was just exploring to see what the console version of this game was like, and decided I prefer PC so I took a break from it.
Anyway, when I finally got around to getting the PC version, I didn't see an option for the original game and just purchased another version of ESO that started my character off in Morrowind which was awesome! I'm about to be level 14 and now I've played it long enough to ask some intelligent questions, lol. And to help answer my questions, YES i do have ESO plus.
1. One day, I was trying to use the jewelry table and got a message saying that I need the Summerset expansion. I logged in yesterday to try to find the expansion in the crown store and couldn't find it...but for some reason I'm able to craft jewelry now. Did I somehow purchase that expansion without knowing? lol. I did do a lot of fiddling around in the crown store to see what's there, got a pet and a mount and some crown points but that's all I remember getting.
2. How do i start the original storyline that I started to play back when ESO first came out? It's the one that involved portals opening up in the sky with anchors smashing into the ground, connected to chains that helped keep the portals opened.
3. If I can start the original story line, will I lose my inventory? If no, does that mean I'll wake up in a dungeon cell in that realm with my armor on along with my weapons and inventory?
4. I got a 5TB HDD that I keep ESO stored on. I have a 500GB M.2 drive in my PC as well but that's just where I store my operationg system and am saving the rest of the storage space for a CAD program when I start engineering school this fall. Is there any reason I want to reinstall ESO onto my M.2 drive? (I'm using a PC to play ESO that I built to be a CAD workstation for school. Just playing ESO to kill time until I can start school this fall)
5. I noticed that I can't enchant my armor but I can enchant my weapons. Am I correct to understand that the reason some glyffs won't work on my armor is because they're level specific? If so, how do I create higher level glyffs?
6. You know how in Skyrim and other elder scrolls games that no matter your character, you can still learn spells that has nothing to do with your class, and even create spells from scratch? Can I do that in ESO? If so, how?
7. I noticed that my action bar is limited and that I can customize what actions to assign to the bar(keys 1-5 plus an R key). I have a mouse with number buttons on the side that I got for ESO. Is there a way to have a bigger action bar or am I really stuck with only keys 1-5 and an R key? Also, what's the R key for anyway?
8. When it comes to honing stones, I know how to get them through deconstructing items or randomly finding them throughout the game. I need like a ton of them. Is there a way I can get a lot of them somewhere or am I stuck with just doing what I'm already doing to get them? Also, same question regarding dwarven oil.
Thanks in advance to any answers to these questions.

I have 15 Chars, 5 AD, 5 DC, 5 EP. TWO LOCKED 30 Day Campaigns!?!?
I don't care if you're pro faction lock, or against it. But this SUCKS. I can no longer get my monthly allotment of transmutes. I can play 5 toons in a No CP campaign, and 5 in a CP, but I cannot play the other alliance AT ALL?!?
When I started this game I didn't have Any Race Any Alliance yet, I picked races based on the meta at the time, and I got stuck with alliances I don't necessarily enjoy. But these are my main toons.
So I made alternate toons on the alliances I liked, so I could play with my friends, but now my mains are effectively locked out of Cyrodil.
The 7 day campaign is a friggin joke.
Please explain to me why this makes any sense?!?

Why exactly are the horse upgrades not account wide?
Starting a Necromancer now, I realise that I forgot how slow mounts are at first…
And honestly, thinking about how much Time I had to invest just to get my Necros Horse up there (2 months just for the speed upgrades) really makes my skin crawl...
Cant we get this stuff Account wide please? I mean, I understood the "half a year to get your mount to 100%" back in 2014, when the game was supposed to be subscription based, but cmone, cant we get at least a little benefit when we already own a char that has all stats on 100%?

U22 DESTROYED IMPERIAL CITY
How is this a good change for the non-end game player?
* IC went from 4 instances to 2 of which only 1 is CP enabled campaign and is now so overcrowded and zergy that you can't farm Tel Var because you have no option but to PvP in a large group but with the result that there is so little Tel Var its not worth farming.
* In the no cp campaign, my CP optimised self die taking a flag and bosses 1 shot me so thats not an option either.
* Bosses (with increased health/damage) now take so long to take down that Gankers & Nightblades kill you at their leisure.
* Consequently, boss respawn times are a pain as large groups (Brought about by the changes in U22) kills them so quickly they sit in wait for the next boss to respawn.
* To prevent competion, because of limited boss availability, players are also running around with groups of 2AD, 2DC and 2EP and basically crush any other groups smaller than 3.
Was this intended ZOS? Did you not say that you want to make normal level content easier? So what happened with IC?
Positive TeL var farming, ESPECIALLY in small groups, is DEAD. The result will be Tel Var Zerg Monopolies and an increase flower and potion prices to where they reflect the current difficulty to obtain flower satchels. Soon there will be cri-cri about how expensive pots and prismatic glyphs have become as players start to realize the fallout of cause and effect.
Why not rather:
- Decrease the boss spawn times
- Revert back to old boss heath & damage done values
This will make both IC instances easier to farm, attract even more players and make it viable for the non-elite, non-end game PvEvP players?
Dont get me wrong, I love PvP but when you go to IC dont you also want decent Tel Var?
Basically what I am asking is for ZOS to realise that if they make it lucritive in terms of Tel Var MORE players will come which will populate the zone where the PvP players and PvE players both get what they want?

Eidetic Memory Bugs/Comments/Help, Volume Two
List of Bugged Books Up-to-Date As of Patch: 4.3.10
With the other thread reaching its 57th page and with the approval of the previous thread’s author, who’s not had enough time lately to keep it updated, I’ve decided to create a new thread in order to keep track of those books which are bugged and require ZOS’s intervention to fix, and allow players to ask for help finding books they might be looking for. The ultimate goal of this thread is, with the help of the community of players and ZOS, to allow people to reach 100% Eidetic Memory completion on any character, regardless of alliance, provided they do necessary quests and have necessary chapters and DLC.
When it comes to Eidetic Memory books, there are several issues which typically cause a book to be unobtainable:
1) The area they are in is only accessible during a quest (after the quest, or after a certain stage in the quest, interacting with the access door is greyed out and the area is inaccessible). Interacting with them is not required to progress the quest, and so they are very easy to miss.
2) The book is a quest item. It starts the quest, can be read during the quest, or is placed in the inventory during a quest, but after the quest or after a certain stage, becomes inaccessible. Interacting with these books (thus giving the Eidetic Memory entry) is not required during the quest, and there is no post-quest location. In some cases, the book is placed into the inventory with no notice and removed at a later quest stage (sometimes as soon as you talk to the next person). These books MUST be read during that time period, as no post-quest location exists.
3) As people progress through various quests, certain areas of the world change, depending on what quests are active and what might be happening in the area. In the process of this phasing, some of the books may disappear. If one doesn’t obtain that entry during the period when the book is active, there may not be another opportunity.
4) The books are only obtainable within the Gate Camps of certain alliances. Access to these books is restricted only to members of one or two alliances. Fortunately, there are very few books like this, but copies of them need to be placed in areas accessible by members of the other alliances.
I want to give a special Thank You to Ayantir, Garkin, and Kyoma for keeping the LoreBooks addon up-to-date and to Mix for creating the last thread, keeping it updated as often as he was able, and giving me permission to make this one. I also want to thank all the amazing community members that have helped and continue to help fellow players find books and note which ones are bugged and in need of fixing. A huge thanks also goes to all those people at ZOS who have worked together to create this amazing world we play around in and all of the bits of lore we’re chasing after, and to those who take the time to run down and fix those pesky books that we report. With motif pages, Shalidor’s Library, and Eidetic Memory books, there are 4162 books currently (as of pre-Elsweyr) scattered throughout the world in PvP areas, in overland zones, throughout quests, in dungeons, trials, and arenas, and even randomly hidden within various bookcases - with more being added in every update – and players are talking about and actively working toward trying to collect them all. How amazing is that?

Note that these are from the perspective of an EP character and may not be the most reasonable route if one is entering from one of the other alliance main camps. Also included are pictures of all of the bookshelves. Note that there are also 8 bookshelves located within the Temple Rectory in the SE area of the Temple District (four stacks of two bookshelves, one on top of the other, with two stacks on either side of the area at the top of the stairs) and one bookshelf located in the room underneath the flag in the Elven Gardens district (down the stairs from where you enter that room). These are not pictured or included in the route.

Regarding the Books of Torinaan and “Blessings of the Eight”
Within Torinaan in Auridon, connected to the area quest “Blessings of the Eight,” there are eleven books located within four shrine complexes, one to Magnus and Syrabane, one to Mara and Stendarr, one to Trinimac and Xarxes, and one to Anu and Y’ffre. Each deity has a book associated with it that has a copy located within its shrine room, and then there are three additional books, The Fires of Truth, Letter to the Aldarch and Brief Letter to the Aldarch. Note that, once a player cleanses both shrines within one of the complexes, the player loses access to that complex and the copies of the books within. Additionally, while Letter to the Aldarch, Brief Letter to the Aldarch, and The Fires of Truth receive locations in the overworld on the platform and steps surrounding the stairs down to the Shrine of Anu and Y’ffre, I was unable to locate similarly placed copies of the other books. However, based on the UESP log information, it would appear that these other books might be included in the pool of books accessed from bookshelves in the following zones.

It’s not an optimal means of obtaining the books, as the bookshelf pools tend to be quite large and it’s unpredictable when you might obtain the book you’re looking for, but it is an option to find them. Another would be for ZOS to place them in the world within the above-ground area of Torinaan. One possible spot could be at approximately 41.31x25.90 (Auridon) on top of a large stone circle near the door to the Central Torinaan Shrine.

List of Known Currently-Bugged Books
Orders to Halskar : Military Orders and Reports (FIXED: 5.0.1 PTS)This book is placed outside the Fort Morvunskar Barracks after the quest “Blindsided”, but disappears during the area’s phasing change near the end of “Sleep for the Dead,” when hostile NPCs are cleared from the fort and two guards take up residence blocking the door to the Barracks. Thus, anyone who has completed both quests and missed this book remains unable to obtain it. Ensuring that the book remains after that phasing change will be enough to fix it.House Hlaalu Merchant Camp : Handbills, Posters, and Decrees (FIXED: 5.0.0 PTS)This book is located on the ground near an overturned wagon at approximately 30.97x45.16 (Deshaan), but disappears during a phasing change following the quest “Payback” and does not return after the quest “Plaguebringer,” which ends activity in the region. A simple fix to this book is to ensure that it’s present after the conclusion of “Plaguebringer,” and anyone who missed it will be able to obtain it after finishing the area’s quest line.Tome of the Undaunted : Handbills, Posters, and DecreesThis is the unsigned version that is located within the three Undaunted Enclaves. From repeated runthroughs of "Taking the Undaunted Pledge" with characters of multiple alliances, I have noticed that it appears this book is entirely unobtainable, as opposed to just being unobtainable after the quest. Before the quest, no interactions with any of the three Tomes are possible. During the first step of the quest, one signs the Undaunted Tome and, at any time afterward, the only copy that can be interacted with (the one in Grahtwood) only shows the Tome of the Undaunted (Signed). Possible solutions for this book include putting a version somewhere else at one of the enclaves, or even on the pedestal at one of the non-AD Undaunted Enclaves where the books cannot currently be interacted with after the quest, regardless of which alliance the character is in. Another option, since this is literally the same content as Tome of the Undaunted (signed) with the exception of the player’s signature, is to delete this book and just have the signed version be the only one, accessible after completing the associated questNahirah's Journal : Personal Journals FIXED 5.0.1 PTSThe quest this book is associated with, "The Search for Shiri," is only available before accepting the quest "Amputating the Hand." Because of this, if one misses/skips this quest, they also miss the book. While they have access to the building in which the book appears, and Nahirah is still dead on the ground, the book is not there. Possible fixes for this would be to trigger the book's appearance on completion of "Amputating the Hand," making "The Search for Shiri" available regardless of whether the player has started/completed "Amputating the Hand," or divorcing the appearance of the book from "The Search for Shiri" entirely. Please see the threads here and here for more informationConversion Status : Wrothgar Writings (FIXED: 5.0.1 PTS)
While currently this book is immediately added to the Eidetic Memory collection during the quest "Forcing the Faith," issues in the past have prevented some players from being able to access it. During the quest, the book is removed from the table on which the player finds it and is placed in the player's inventory. Upon completion of the quest, it is then removed from the player's inventory and the world as a whole. In order to fix it for those who experienced the bug in the past, it is suggested that, when "Forcing the Faith" is completed, the book be returned to the table from whence it came.Rhanbiq’s Notes : Hew’s Bane Bookshelf FIXED: 5.0.2 PTSThis book is never actually in the world, since the player retrieves it from a lockbox at one of three inns (depending on the alliance of the player) during the quest “The One That Got Away,” and it is placed in the player’s quest items inventory and removed a step later after talking to Bellulor Chatterbreak in the town’s Outlaw Refuge (both with no notice). As such, it is easy for people to miss their opportunity to obtain this book and, with no copy existing elsewhere in the world, to do so permanently. In order to resolve this, it would be helpful for a copy to be placed somewhere after the quest is over. Possible locations would include the “Hew’s Mane” inn where the player meets Zeira both to progress the quest and to turn it in, or somewhere within the Thieves Den. This way, it doesn’t matter which alliance the player is in or what path they take through the quest as a result.Invitation to the Kinlady’s Conference : Summerset Scrolls (FIXED: 5.0.1 PTS)This book is never actually in the world. After the player informs him of goings-on within the Cathedral of Serene Harmony as part of the quest “The Queen’s Decree,” Razum-dar gives the invitation to the player, placing it in the player’s quest items inventory, and it is removed when the player talks to Galmelon one quest step later, meaning that the window to interact with it and add it to one’s collection is incredibly small and very easy to miss. In order to fix this, I would suggest adding a copy either on the front porch or on one of the tables inside the Kinlady’s Mansion. After all, in all the excitement of the party, it wouldn’t be unexpected for Galmelon to have set one of the invitations down on his way to do something else.Sapiarch’s Recommendation, Writ of Valid Credentials : Summerset Scrolls (FIXED: 5.0.0 PTS)These books are never actually in the world. During the quest “Culture Clash,” they are placed in the player’s quest items inventory after doing favors for Sapiarch Tandemen and Justiciar Rolumdel respectively, and are removed when the player speaks to Vindilween and hands them to her. Because they are placed in the quest items inventory for a short time, they are easy to miss, and it would be beneficial for copies of them to be added within the world itself. Possible locations could include the area around the steps outside the Alinor Royal Palace, or near where the player speaks to the associated NPCs. For Tandemen, this is the table at 46.70x46.35 (Alinor), and for Rolumdel, this could be on top of the low wall he is standing by at 49.73x39.48 (Lillandril).Illuminus, The Forest Dark, The Truth of Minotaurs, The Siege of Ald Marak : Summerset ScrollsThese books are part of the quest "Illusions of Grandeur" in the Illumination Academy, and are recovered and shelved as part of the quest (after which they disappear). No post-quest location seems to exist.Naliara's Notes, Days 2, 8, 13, and 18; King's Haven Territory Record, King's Haven Trade Record, and King's Haven Scouting Record : Summerset ScrollsThese books are part of the quest "Savage Truths." During the quest, they are interacted with, the note pages disappear, and the plaques on which the records are kept become uninteractable. If a bug occurs where the books aren't added to the collection at this moment, it cannot be fixed. Thus, a post-quest location for them is needed.Lirendel's Family Shrine : Summerset ScrollsThis only appears during the quest "A Duelist's Dilemma," on the statue in Tor-Hame-Khard. After the quest, the plaque is once again uninteractable. I'll need to do this quest again to remember where the duel takes place in order to be certain that a rubbing of it isn't left there, but I do not believe that will be the case.Bright-Throat Riddle Fragment, Dead Water Riddle Fragment : Lore of MurkmireThese books are added to the player’s quest items inventory during the quest “Whispers in the Wood,” and then removed upon its completion. No real indication is given that they have been added, and no copy is present in the world after the quest is completed. One possible post-quest solution for both of these books would be to place them within the Cyrodillic Collections building in Lilmoth. To that end, there is an empty table to the left of the door (while standing at the door and looking inside), which would be a perfect location. For Captain Telomure; Pearl Research Notes, Log 3; Journal of Justiciar Avanaire : Summerset ScrollsAll three of these books are located in Tor-Hame-Khard during the quest "Pearls Before Traitors" and disappear on quest turn-in. As interaction with these is not required for the quest, and because at least one of these (Pearl Research Notes, Log 3 is off the beaten path, it makes it very easy for the player to miss their opportunity to retrieve these books for their collection. Therefore, it would be wise to either ensure that they remain present in their current locations after the quest is turned in or to give them a post-quest location, possibly outside the delve near Captain Telomure.
Books Which Need A Taxi (FIXED: 5.0.1 PTS)
What I mean by this is that, after completing the associated quest, or a step in the associated quest, the only way to obtain these books is by grouping with someone who is at that particular part. While this is not preferable and it would certainly be preferred if ZOS were to add a copy accessible outside the quest, it does still allow players to access books they might otherwise not be able to. If you are on PC-NA, I have a character on my second account who has access to these and can give you a lift. I do not currently have plans to do the same on PC-EU, and do not have access to an XBOX or PS4. However, if someone else on those platforms is willing to offer their fellow players a lift to those areas, please let me know and I’ll list your name here.
No Reason to Worry : Criminal Correspondence (Quest: Moon Sugar Medicament)This book is located within Hazak’s Lair, a back room of Hazak’s Hollow. It is only accessible after the quest step to enter Hazak’s Lair, and before killing the target inside and turning in the quest. Possible locations that would be accessible after the quest include the area within Hazak’s Hollow but outside Hazak’s Lair, or next to where the questgiver is standing.Blackguard Instructions, One, Two, and Three : Criminal Correspondence ; The Curse of Beela-Kaar : Rituals and Revelations (Quest: The Cursed Skull)These books are only available on the island of Norg-Tzel, which is only accessed during the Murkmire prologue quest “The Cursed Skull.” However, one can return to this island, by grouping with someone who is able to access the island, starting at the objective “Commandeer the Blackguards’ Ship.” Note that you cannot teleport to someone on the island as no wayshrines exist to teleport to. Instead, you must travel to the area you found the boat, south of Deep Graves, and speak to the pilot who will be there. To avoid this, a possible location to place additional copies of these books is in Stormhold, by where Concordia Mercius and Jee-Lar are standing to give the prologue dailies.
Books Which Are Unobtainable to Members of Certain Alliances
Updated Instructions from Dortene, Information Request from Emeric : Military Order and Reports (AD, EP)The only location of these two books is within the Southern High Rock Gate camp, meaning that anyone who isn’t DC is unable to obtain them. If a version were added within the gatehouses at the Gates of Alma Ruma or Ni-Mohk, it would allow members of both EP and AD to obtain them, albeit only after someone captures the keeps necessary to access the gate. Those Who Stood At Chalman Keep : Tales of Tamriel (AD) FIXED: 5.0.2 PTSIn one of the last few updates, this book was moved from its location in Chalman Keep to a spot on Grand Warlord Zimmeron’s table in the Northern Morrowind Gate. As there was already a copy within the Southern High Rock Gate camp, this did not impact DC players. However, neither of these locations are accessible for AD players. Therefore, they either need a copy placed within one of their gate camps or within an area they are able to access.
If you find any other bugged books, are able to locate a copy of the bugged books I listed, or have any questions about any other books, please don’t hesitate to say so, and post coordinates or map pictures if you are able, so that others are able to find them/ check it out more easily. The entire purpose of this is for the Community to help fellow players find the books they’re looking for, and it doesn’t work without y’all.
Additionally, if anyone at ZOS has any questions or suggestions on how I can make this more useful to y’all, please don’t hesitate to chime in. As evidenced by what I found with Orders to Halskar recently, even a lot of people running through an area can miss things or be mistaken about what’s causing it. If you have evidence that “Hey, I really don’t think this book is broken and I’m not sure why you all are saying it is,” even if it’s just to hint “Go look in this general location,” go ahead! If you have questions about something we’re seeing and want to know our quest status in an area, be my guest! If you just want to chat about the hunt or the books themselves, perfect! You folks are part of this as well, and if we can help y’all pinpoint issues going on with these books or confirm that no issue exists, that’s outstanding! My ultimate hope is that, at some point, we can completely remove the “Bugs” portion of the title, and make this thread (or a different iteration) solely about helping people locate those books they’re having trouble finding or chat about the ones they’ve found, so they can experience the story you’ve created to the fullest without having to wonder “Wait, have I completely missed out on getting that story on this toon?” Y’all and the work you do are an integral part of making that happen.
Anyway, that’s more than enough chatter from me for now. Happy hunting, folks, and I’ll see y’all in Tamriel!

BiS race for tank?
I'm starting to take this game more seriously then I used to, and I think it's time to try my hand at tanking: A role that I frequently dismiss because reasons that are too stupid to put to text.
Simple question:
What race is BiS for Tank? Is it still Argonian, or have other races taken over? Furthermore, why is it that these races are BiS?
This will be my last thread tonight.
TIA.

no more bag upgrade?
Soooo... hit level 7 with my new character and to be honest, I don't look close anymore. I just hit "C", add the Trait and it moves on to skills. But then I went to do a bag upgrade (because I wait until level 7 to save 400 gold, because... well... I'm cheap ), and the guy wants to charge me 400 for the upgrade. So I break from the conversation and look - bag space is still at 60.
Did they take away the free bag slots for reaching level 7? I went through all the patch notes and did not find anything about it.
It's a small issue.
But it's irritating.

MagNB PVP begginer but actuality build?
What sets do you reccomnd to use a new player? I'm only interested in pvp content,
and I want to prepare the character for the battle as soon as possible.
What do you think how much time I can take from scratch and what to do in the first place?

Dolgubon's Lazy Writ Crafter half working
People in guild chat are telling me that it is working fine for them, which drives me nuts.
I know we have to expect problems after major updates and we need to be patient and grateful. I am, I just wanted to report this peculiar pickle.
The mod works for enchanting and works as far as bringing the dailies to the boxes and getting your rewards unpacked automatically is concerned.
But it is not working for Jewelry, Blacksmithing, Woodworking and Clothing - it gives me the message that Dolgubon's Lazy Writ Crafter is out of date, please update your addons. And when I manually build what is needed, it kicks me out of the crafting table when I still have one item left to do (I can them go back on the table and crat the last item, thankfully).
I updating everything with Minion, I checked compatibility, I uninstalled / re-installed the add on as well as all needed Libs / I checked that I have all the needed Libs.

Massive Lag Since Elsewyr Update!
I am not sure if this is FPS lag or otherwise as changing my graphics didn't help me at all. I was playing the game just fine before the expansion with no trouble at all. Were the system reqs upped with the expansion? Is there a memory leak? Was an optimization pass not made? I can't help but wonder. This is driving me crazy.
