With faction lock now being bugged and all, why not a 30 day none locked campaign?

As someone who does not care about pvp and only do tier 1 every month for crystals, faction lock did nothing but hinder the amount of pve I can do since my monthly income of transmute crystals almost halved. Now with the campaign end it seems both my 30 day campaigns are locked to the same faction without setting a foot in Cyrodil. Which will make it even harder for me to get crystals.

Why can't we just have a none locked campaign for those of us that do not care at all about factions?

If the locked campaigns die with this change maybe faction lock was a bad idea in the first place?

Or maybe, give us 50 crystals for tier 1 in the 7 day campaign?

So i wanted to contact the Bethesda and ESO Support directly, but there is literally no Category that fits this Issue.
Which is why i'm just gonna adress it here - hoping ESO Mods actually read the Forum.

If not.. does anybody know how to Contact Bethesda about this?

I used the Twitch Extension (allowed Access) and watched the whole Bethesda E3 Conference live, yet i didn't receive anything.
So.. help?

Some Ideas for Magicka Necro

We all know Magicka Necro is not in the best spot, which of course always prompts the question. " What should be different? " We all have ideas and thoughts. Well I got two idea concerning two abilities, those being Stalking Blastbones, and Skeletal Arcanist.

Stalking Blastbones: So we are all aware of the issues with this ability, most A.I. so obviously the first suggestion is to fix that, but aside from that, I was thinking how not just the fans, but even ZoS thinks magicka necro should be a "Baleful Summoner" Which they describe as having any "ARMY" of undead. Thats what they call it on the skill advisory. But I mean, we only got one real pet, and it does nothing but run forward and explode, which is cool, I was hoping necro would have exploding minions. But it still feeling lacking. What is, instead of damage just scaling with one summon as it travels, we get two? One normal Blast Bones, then a stalking one that does 50% of the oprignals damage that scales up based on how long it chases? Could be ***, could be OP I don't know I can't test it, i just think it seems more summonery and necromancer like.

Now, another idea is to make the second summon a melee fighter that explodes on death, and or when re-summoned/times out. Mostly cause I think its cool, not cause it will fix anything.

Skeletal Arcanist: So, weak, is the best way to describe this ability, not only is it not a real summon, it also does not do any damage or add any utility. It basically just gives you a sucky dot. Now, I got a few ideas for this, the first being simple to add a extra effect to it. Minor Breach/Fracture... Not too many sorces of this, it's a debuff and necros should be known for debuffs if you ask me. Or, maybe minor vulnerability. Either or works for me, I think it would add some much needed utility without putting in the work to completely rework the ability. Now on top of this, it should stay on targets. Going after your first target and staying n it till you target something else, or just make it a real pet and give it a hit box. I know some people would hate that though. given how sorc is treated.

Now I am gonna add one more to this, and that Mending Spirit, I can't help but feel like this guy should put a small shield on us, that could easily be over tuned, but I honestly feel like, since we have no wya to kite people, we could really use a class shield on magicka.

So, pick it apart as you will, just some thoughts I had on the subject.

There's been so many great things with this chapter, but for me my favorite thing was traveling the zone. It felt really immersive with all the different levels of terrain. >..< My bosmer looked at it and said ... so many things to jump down from.

Should Normal Dungeons be Buffed?

They just seem too easy. They're supposed to be group content, but most/all of them can be run with four dps. I remember there was an mmo I used to play (FFXI maybe? It's been a while) where enemies would always open with a hard crit. For the most part, anyone but a tank would not be able to take the brunt of the multiple crits from aggroing groups of enemies. A balanced group was needed for group content in that game because dps were essentially glass cannons when it came to group content.

Now, I'm not advocating the entire game's difficulty be ramped up (though I wouldn't mind a bit more challenge), but group dungeons, imo, should not be easily completed by four dps'ers just zerging through.

Thoughts?

edit: I guess I should have mentioned that I'm referring to normals because I run those when I'm leveling a new character. I run vets once I hit 50 on the character. The normals just feel too easy...but I suppose it could just be power creep as someone else mentioned. A level 15 with 810cp is quite a bit different from an actual level 15. Normals could very well be difficult to a truly new character.

edit2: On a side note: It never fails to amaze me how snarky some people are on the internet. I never run into people like this irl lol. Once some people have anonymity, tact and common courtesy seem to go out the window.

EU Server Performance - Update from Matt Firor

Hi everyone,

Today, members of the ESO team are participating in a Reddit AMA over on the ESO subreddit. We have seen your questions and concerns about EU server performance, server capacity, and issues with the Activity Finder, and wanted to make sure we addressed them in the AMA and here. Below is a response from Game Director Matt Firor.
Hello! I suspect we'll get questions about performance more than a few times today, so I prepared a description of what we have going on to address performance concerns - on a number of fronts.

Even though there is very little new information here, we definitely could be doing a better job of keeping everyone appraised of how things are going while we are in process. We will be better messengers in the future keeping everyone up to date on longer-term fixes and updates.

First, server capacity. As we all know, we had server capacity issues a few months back, especially on the PC EU servers. We were forced to temporarily cap the number of concurrent users on PC EU and put up a queuing system to enforce it. We got the new capacity online for PC EU in a week, and added that same capacity for PC NA (which was very close to experiencing the same problems). We took the queuing system down, and we can now support the concurrency demand we are seeing.

Second, the looking for group system. As we posted last week, we are working on a 100% revamp of this system, which is mostly used for Dungeon and Battleground queuing. We have a version done that we are testing in-house, although it will be a while before it goes live. We want to make sure that the solution we have scales correctly and will support the now massive numbers of players that are using the system. We are planning for revamped LFG system to be in Update 24, depending on how testing is going. Until then, we will continue with the only solution we have (which we posted about last week in the LFG update) - cap the number of players in the queue. We know it is extremely frustrating to not be able to queue for dungeons and BGs and get "cannot join queue" when you try, but at least now once you get into a queue successfully, you should be able to join the dungeon or BG.

Third: overall performance. Rich talked about this in his end of year message six months ago: we are currently implementing sweeping optimization and memory management client architecture changes that should improve client performance and especially client stability. These optimizations will be most noticeable on lower-spec PCs, base Xbox, and base PS4, but overall everyone should notice better stability and performance. This is scheduled for Update 24. Additionally, we have another set of optimizations scheduled for Q1 next year that will reduce the client "footprint" requirements and should speed up loading times.

Fourth: Longer term, we are in the beginning stages of combat system performance improvements that should improve overall game performance in Cyrodiil and Trials. Stay tuned for updates on this.

Obviously if anything else crops up, we'll investigate. I know that it can seem like it takes an inordinate amount of time to address performance problems, but we need to take our time and make sure that we don't introduce new issues while we do this. War Maiden VS Spell Strategist VS Julianos

In this video I compare three DD sets for magic warden DD: War maiden, Spell Strategist, Julianos.
Main set is Mother sorrow - it gives many spell critical.

1) Why war maiden?
This set has good bonuses and you can buy it in guild stores (its very cheap). Fifth bonus are good for me like magic warden because most warden damage skills has magic damage.

2) Why spell strategist?
Its very popular magic DD set and in all guiedes I watched people advice it. You can buy it in guild stores (its not cheap). This set has one big downside, you will loose a lot of damage on AoE because fifth bonus damage only one target.

3) Why Julianos?
Its very popular DD set too cause gives many spell damage. You can buy it in guild stores (its not cheap), but huge plus is that you can craft it by yourself with right traits and dont waste crystals to transmute items to right traits.

4) Why not Siroria?
Its the most popular DD set in all Tamriel from Claurest. Fifth bonus works while you standing one one place but in solo playing you must move to stay alive. Thats why its not my choise. Set is very good for playing in group but in solo its not the best choise. You cannot buy it and you must run again and again in Claudrest to collect it with divine traits.

5) Why not Burning Spellweave?
I am too lazy to run in city of Ash again and again to collect it. And I think DPS will be the same (or more for 1-2k) like in my three sets in video.

Result: all three sets has the same DPS for me - about 27k. If I transmute traits from arcane to infusion in my war maiden jewelery so it will be better than Julianos set. DPS will be more.
I play solo with War maiden set for a year and even after this test will continue use it on my magic warden DD.

Exploiter passive in PVP

I wonder if there is any point in putting 75 points into thaumaturge to unlock the exploiter passive (10% damage against off balance enemies) in PvP. I am talking from the perspective of a PvP magplar (lots of DoT) running toppling charge (it applies off balance for 5 seconds).

No CP Imperial City is tougher than end game...

So, running with newer players in the no CP Imperial City with new characters is CRAZY HARD.

I'm a solid player, but when 3 or 4 people struggle against the Temple or the Arena completion quests - it tells me the NPCs are scaling to No CP and have all the same resistences and damage buffs the CP version does... that's CRAZY!!

Can't Change Home Campaign After reset

Hello, I dont know if anyone else is having the same issue.

I had 4 toons on CP campaign on DC, i abandoned all of them today but i still cant home the campaign on my EP toons.

I checked 15 times and none of the dc toons has the CP campaign as Home.

Is this a bug? Do i have to delete all my dc characters?

Months ago I made a magden with the intent of building the trolliest PvP toon possible- snares, immobilizations, etc. She turned out to be fairly ineffective at anything, so I pretty much shelved her. I've been working on vMA on a magblade and was having some issues with her lack of burst heals and CC abilities. Someone on Reddit posted a video of her/his magden parse and I thought it looked pretty neat and fairly effective (37ishk DPS) so I decided to try taking my magden into vMA. I'm still working on getting all of her skills leveled up so I've not yet taken her into vMA, but I'm pretty pleased with the results of my first parse with her

My best parse on my main (stamblade) is 45k, but my best magicka 3 mil parse is around 37k with my magblade, so the magden's not super far behind, especially given that this was my first parse and that her gear isn't at all optimized- her Necropotence armor is still purple, as is one piece of the Zaan set, and Zaan and Spell Strat are hand-me-downs from the magblade that I'm using while I finish up her False God's set and decide on a monster set.

I get that it's still behind other classes in terms of DPS, but I'd say this is good enough for almost any end-game content. I haven't taken her into any dungeons or trials and I know that Zaan is generally considered a "cheese" set, but even without I think that she'd pull decent enough DPS to do almost all content in the game.

Also, it's FUN! Surprisingly fun. And with the above rotation I only use five skills in totality (shalk, cliff racer, fletcher, blockade, winter's revenge) along with the netch. Once she's got all of her skills there'll be channeled acceleration + self-heals as well, but, at least relative to the magblade rotation, it's fairly straightforward. She's also been performing surprisingly well in PvP with this build- I swap out SS and Zaan for Vicious Death and Thurvokun and have been pretty shocked at her survivability and damage output. Granted, I'm pretty terrible at PvP but I've never gotten this many kills before.

BiS? No. Ideal for optimized vet raid groups? Probably not, since, as people have mentioned, they don't bring anything particularly unique to the table and have relatively low DPS. Fun and versatile? Absolutely. If you're not looking to top the leaderboards for vet trials/vMA/etc then I think this is a pretty solid choice that people shouldn't be so afraid to try due to its reputation for being so weak. It definitely needs some love via buffs but it's still a comfortably strong class to play.

Can someone explain FPS and Ping in the context of the ESO IN-GAME METERS

I enabled the in-game FPS and Ping numbers. Typically I get around 55-60 FPS and 130-150 ping.

The following makes sense to me:
- busy Alik'r Dolmen - FPS drops to 20-40 range depending on what's happening, but action on screen is not choppy at all; Ping doesn't spike
- just ported into a zone -- Ping is red and typically in the hundreds, but doesn't last long
- I made a toon on the PC(EU) server and my Ping there was over 200 -- presumably because it has to travel farther from the EU physical machines

The following does NOT make sense to me:
- *sometimes* in starter zones like Bleakrock, my FPS jumps up and down by 10-30 points each tick, BUT ping is steady AND the immediate area is nowhere busy as an Alik'r dolmen. Last time this happened I was staring at a mountain face in northern Bleakrock and there were maybe 2 players idling at a nearby fireplace with some questgiver NPCs.
- I frequently get disconnected, sometimes 10-20 times within an hour. When it starts to happen, often things around me just stop and I can no longer interact with anything. BUT FPS and Ping remain steady throughout even though the "freeze" can last upwards of a minute before the game disconnects me to the login screen

Quit Closing Threads About Faction Lovk

Seriously faction locks were implemented because forum warriors made countless threads and post. Now that they’re not well received and people are discussing their displeasure and expressing it there is no reason to shut the threads down just because they’re painting a black eye on a horrendous decision by the dev team.

Faction lock is not fair

Some of us grinded characters to play with our friends on the opposite factions,
or simply just got fed up with the behavior of our faction, morning cap, etc...

After faction lock made it to live, i literally do not login to my recent grinded char - Because simply most of my chars are AD,
So putting a home campaign on non-AD char is unreasonable.

Give us alliance change token, so our time of grinding wont go to waste.
