tank choice...Necro or NB?

$

Simple question, for all around pve guild runs/trials (no speed stuffs) which would you all make? I know Necro has a pretty strong tank line but word is NB's got some love and are doing pretty good as well?
I have Necro in stam and mag so maybe a tad burned out on the class but if it truly is a "better" tank...well....maybe. Cheers! ;)

Bridges vs Milegates in Cyrodiil. What's the logic?

$

I don't understand why the milegates between DC and AD can be knocked down- yet can be crossed over the top by DC. AD cannot knock down any of the bridges between AD and EP and "hop" over the top of the bridges. AD is limited to goat paths while DC can use the goat paths AND cross over the top of the milegates. What's the logic behind this?

It seems that DC has the clear advantage to travel into AD territory.

Stan necro blocking animation stick.

My stam necro gets stuck in either the permanent block animation or ends up with a permanent block symbol in front of him. Not only that it causes everything else I do to lag. Or breaks quests. I've tried reloadui and the only solution is to log out and log back in and then that only fixes the issue until I get back into any sort of combat. Doesn't happen with any of my other stam or mag builds. Sort it out please.

Why no free Doom Wolf mount for consoles?

So PC/Mac players get a free Doom Wolf mount for winning 3 games of the Elder Scrolls: Legends card game but console players get nothing yet again.

Why do console players keep getting overlooked for promotions like this?

It's extremely unfair and downright upsetting for ZOS to keep ignoring those player bases.

Maximum range stuns (41m in PvP) make combat miserable

Zero risk for the caster, makes it near impossible for outnumbered players to engage or escape. At launch, the longest range stuns were 20m, maybe 25m, and unaffected by PvP passives, for good reason. The fact that Destructive Reach and Draining Shot are cheap and spammable just adds insult to injury. You dodge or block the first few Draining Shots, here comes another 17 of them.

If max range stuns are going to remain in the game, they should be extremely expensive and punishing to spam. Otherwise, reduce the range and make ranged stun spammers risk actual PvP engagement. No, I'm not joining an organized ball zerg, nor am I going to run a build that holds block for 40 seconds straight.

Tracking Daily Writ Reward Drop Rates

$

So, I was beginning to track the rewards that were dropping for me from doing my writs daily. I do writs on 27 characters a day (most days), so I felt like I would have enough data to over ride any "noise" that was in the data from random RNG. I was initially tracking it on a spreadsheet, when I began to talk to a friend who writs add-ons, at the possibility of creating an add-on to track the drops of each. This led me to be searching the ESOUI add-ons, and come to find out, that Dolgubon's Lazy Writ Crafter (BEST ADD-ON EVER FOR DOING WRITS!!!! Love you @Dolgubon ) has been tracking this information for me for a while now. I just had to parse it out of the output that it gives me in chat. So I took the data and plugged it into Google Sheets to come up with some data about the drop rates of the major rewards from doing crafting writs.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yQDUjYNQVsIFl0ktkbkSlfYPkzP6pgCOTMQ-qCuzfaI/

A couple of notes about the data

* Alt account does not have access to Summerset, so there is no Jewelry Crafting data for it
* Jewelry drops were changed after the release of Summerset, to only include Chromium Grains (they initially included Terne, Iridium, and Zircon), so the drop rate is artificially low for Jewelry Chromium Grains
* This data stretches back approximately a year, pre-Summerset release, my main account was therefore leveling up Jewelry Crafting through the data collection, as well as researching traits in Jewelry, this will bring down the drop rates for Jewelry crafting.
* For a majority of the data collection, Jewelry Writs were done at 8 a day at level 5 (Platinum), and 7 a day at level 1 (Pewter), this will also bring down the Chromium grain collection (but not surveys, it appears)
* All crafters know the 9 basic racial styles, all 4 base game purple, as well as Hollowjack and Skinchanger motifs.
* All crafters are 8-trait crafters (some researching through the data), but I don't believe trait knowledge has an effect on drop rates (other than for Jewelry)
* All crafters know all traits for Alchemy (with the exception of Clam Gall and Powdered Mother of Pearl on a few), and all stones for Enchanting translated
* For provisioning, crafters are only learning the purple recipes that drop from doing provisioning writs as I accumulate them. They also all know the Psijic Ambrosia gold recipe, since I have gotten thousands of fragments for that as well. This is why the drop rate of provisioning is so low, since only 1 characters knows all the purple/gold recipes.

*The alt account was created during this time frame, so all the leveling of the skill lines, as well as the trait research and motif learning was all done while they were doing writs, which is probably why the drop rates on the alt account are slightly lower than those on the main account. Other than surveys which seems to be pretty consistent across both accounts.

I'm just sharing this here so that people who are looking for information about drop rates have a place to find this. I'll plan on periodically updating the spreadsheet every couple of weeks as I collect more data from doing writs.

*It appears that surveys have an approximately 1/8 chance of dropping while doing a writ. This is consistent at all levels of writs.
*It appears that the drop rate for a gold improvement material is a little under 30% (will have to check more on Chromium, but the recent tracking seems to support a similar drop rate)
*Alchemy/Enchanting master writs drop the more commonly, probably due to the ease of getting the drop rate highest (at about 1/7, or 14%)
*Without most motifs, the drop rate for Blacksmithing/Woodworking/Clothing master writs appears to be around 1/15 or 6% (but going up to about 1/10, or 10% with some basic motif knowledge)

EDIT: ADDED on 3/9/19

Added another tab to the document to try and determine profit from doing writs on a daily basis. It looks like writs on a single character will net approximately a 400k profit per month.

By necessity, some things needed to be estimated while creating it.

I used MM numbers from PC/NA (I'm in 3 trade guilds in 3 different locations, all with more than 50 million a week in sales guild wide)

I used values calculated from the drop rate of the writs that I've been tracking.

Master writs were valued based on a voucher sell price of 650g/voucher.

Other tabs include refining returns, current MM prices, etc...

Legends new Expansion Moons of Elsweyr Free cards

Hey,

I read on the bethesda wesite site you're giving away 15 card packs for the TESL new expansion if you also play ESO. The thing is, how can you know I play both games? They are not linked... well, unless an ESO account is a subset of a bethesda account. Let me know please.

Thanks

Premade groups are ruining battlegrounds...

$

... do they? I think so. It's no fun to deal with one or even two premade groups in battlegrounds.

Why is there no option to prevent this? 1 and 2 players should count as "single" and 3 and 4 player groups should count as group and be treated as such when it comes to matchmaking.

And no, it is no solution to counter premade groups with the argument "go look for a group yourself".

New types of AoE

Heyho!

With the last Dungeon DLCs and Raids there were added some new AoE areas - at least I'm confused about it now. These areas are displayed very differently.

The classic: The normal red area that does damage. In MHK the werewolves also have red areas around them - but they do no damage. Some areas now only have a border, but the content is not colored. Also, there are now areas that have only a border at first and are filled slowly or quickly with color. And some attacks don't seem to have an area, although they at least look as if they were AoE. Probably I even forgot another kind...

Are there differences? What are they? Are newer types of AoE blockable as tank? Are there more options to display AoEs?

As a DD for years, I stay away from all AoEs - even if you occasionally have to run into one to share the damage (Is this kind displayed differently?). Now that I've discovered Tanking for myself, I'm more interested in ground attacks.

Thank you for your help!

I just did, and it's like getting a free upgrade. I also enabled mfaa, not sure if that did anything but regardless, the game looks incredible now.

Get that option enabled, and have fun.

5 Years, and Nightblade STILL gets Penalized for Sneak Speed

$

Nightblade in-game description: Nightblades are adventurers and opportunists with a gift for getting in and out of trouble. Relying variously on stealth, blades, and speed, Nightblades thrive on conflict and misfortune, trusting to their luck and cunning to survive.

That's the description, and yet Nightblade gets penalized for sneak speed same as every other class. It's stupid that a class designed to "rely variously on stealth... and speed" has to burn a 5 piece set or become a vampire to, ya know... not get penalized for doing what the class description suggests. ZOS, this would be a good opportunity to add some class flavor in a way that makes sense.

Sneaking on my Nightblade should feel at least a little bit better than sneaking on my Dragonknight. Remove the sneak penalty from Nightblade.

Game crashes randomly all the time, some times leading to full PC crash!

Hi there,
I've been playing ESO way more actively since around 3 months prior to Elsweyr launch and the game ran like a dream, no issue save for some frame rate drops here and there.
However, ever since the Elsweyr update, my client will randomly crash for no apparent reason. There's no correlation between each crash either, im always doing something different, whether it be talking to a vendor, or more infuriatingly doing a veteran dungeon with guild for pledges.
I have tried repairing the client which hasn't worked, so im lost for a fix.
Any ideas?

Im also playing with a few add ons installed that ill list bellow -

HarvestMap
LibAddonMenu
LibMapPins
LibStub

Bethesda linked games

Is there any way to know specifically if I have correctly linked both my Legends and ESO games to my Bethesda account? I don't remember if I used the same login when I started Legends, but they are both on Steam and my Steam account is linked. I just want to make sure I am doing what I need to, to receive the Doom Wolf.
