5 useful tips to new ESO players.
Now I know this topic has been discussed before. I know everyone has their opinion on the subject. So I thought I would my 2 cents, 5 with inflation lol!
Just because you're a noob to this game. Doesn't mean you have to be one. So here hopefully is some actual advice.
1. Google is your best friend. If you don't know anything about this game? Then look it up. Don't be afraid to some reading and research before asking a question in the chat while in-game.
2. Don't pick all of the loot you come across. Be selective when you first start. Take what you only need. Because if you have multiple characters. That bank is going to fill up fast. And it will cost you 85,000 gold to upgrade it completely. And additional 64,500 to upgrade your bag. And that's not including the additional 12,250 to upgrade your mount. For a grand total of 162,00 to upgrade everything. So make sure you upgrade your bank first.
3. Daily Rewards. are your friend. When starting out in ESO, daily rewards are your best friend especially when it comes to earning some extra money. Now granted you get towards the end of the month. But 100,000 is nothing to sneeze at. Especially when you're just starting out.
4. Crafting: Now a lot of gamers will tell you to need to craft. Personally, I feel crafting is just busywork and a job. And I feel it has nothing to do with the actual game. And what I mean by that, is that it doesn't affect quests or overall story of the game. It's not like your going to extra gold or experiance from a quest giver. Because you crafted a really cool sword. And if the rumors are true about being able to build skill lines. Well, crafting has pretty much become a moot point. Although technically you will have to unlock it one of your characters and max it out first. It's okay if you want to craft, just don't put a lot of emphasis on it.
5. Crafting nodes and Loot and Treasure Chests: Now it took me a while to figure out resources will eventually respawn in time. So don't worry if some other player decides to run up and steal that resource you about to get yourself. It will respawn in time. Now loot is different, it's procedural. What that means when you see another player in the same room as you are and they are looting. And it looks like the room has been "picked clean" fret not. You can still loot the room. A little tip: when it comes to things growing back. Logging out of the game and logging back in the game. Is useful when it comes to respawning treasure chests.
So I hope these 5 tips will be actual advice to you as a new ESO player![ ]()

Rapid Regeneration should be self buff like Resolving Vigor
this skill should perform as a selfish heal like Resolving Vigor
this is the changes i propose to compensate the loss

Treasure maps( and surveys) in the currency tab/ crafting bags or under collections
I think treasure maps & surveys should get the same treatment as the undaunted keys in this patch.
They clutteer up bank space and cant even be stacked
Treasure maps could be seen as currency ,especially in the thieves guild maybe

Shields draining Magicka for taking damage and removing stamina cost to dodging
My proposed change for how shields should work is thus. Instead of casting an ability and your shield just blocking virtually all damage and being able to be spammed and recast with impunity I would propose instead a shield becomes a toggle ability that reduces all damages by 75-80% but when taking continuous damage drains 1000 Magicka for every 2000 damage you take. This would make it so shield builds can’t just recast an the shield but instead causes them to actively try to avoid getting hit. They should remove the cost to dodge so that magic classes can try to actively avoid damage. So for example you have your new toggle shield active. If you take damage it starts to drain your magic but if your actively dodging then your magic remains untouched, however if you just want to let your shield soak the damage instead it drains you to the point where you may not have enough magic to attack . As it is now stam classes have to use their stamina to both damage and evade damage while dodging multiple times causes you to drain more and more stamina with every hit meanwhile magic can throw up a shield that costs a considerably less amount of magic that blocks a considerably larger amount of damage than dodging actively avoids especially with the new dot meta. So with shields now draining magic to block a significant amount of damage it would drain a significant amount of Magicka forcing a magic class to actively dodge ( which would now be free) the toggle shield would make resource management more on par with stamina builds.

Two-handed viable for PVE now?
Title. I had a look at the latest patch notes and it appears they've buffed several of the two-handed skills to be more viable in a PVE sustain rotation.

Cyrodiil is overly DPS-centric.
I recently thought to myself, wouldn't it be cool to setup my healer to capture flags (towns) just by meditating next to a flag with heals-gear and buffs?!
But, apparently, flags can only be captured by killing all the mobs around them. So, basically the only role for quick flag capture is a DPS.
Tanks and healers can't have this fun? Not cool. Support is one thing, but I like to do some solo missions too.
EDIT: This post is about having fun. I see no reason why a healer/tank can't go and capture a flag using their strongest powers, just like a dps does by using its damage to kill the mobs.

This patch is garbage.
These new rotations are brain dead and lack any real distinguishing characteristics from one another. The skill level for this patch is low. That might be a good thing for newer players or others that couldn't, up to this point involve themselves in end game content. But its horribly dull for me, see you all when ZOS is done with this "audit" that conspicuously couldnt be carried out on a private server with a focused dev team and top notch game testers. Im still confused how any of these changes help them do anything related to class balance, because you drastically change something and then do an audit. Thats not how audits work.
I know this will get deleted, but at least someone from the zos team will read it and get all huffy.

MagBlade Theorycrafting Changes Thread
So... what’s everyone thinking with the PTS changes?
I logged onto PTS and checked some stuff out but no duels or BGs. Here are my thoughts:
- refreshing path’s been buffed a bit but is being overshadowed by other abilities. It’s almost exactly the same healing as illustrious healing but a smaller area and costs a lot more
- Combat Prayer got a buff but the healing’s still pretty low
- The other morph of combat Prayer looks a lot better. Before when both were weak it didn’t make much of a difference, now it’s an extra 1k base in pvp heal per player, that’s a lot
- Rapid regen and mutagen both look good
- BRP resto with the ward is meh as a healer, cloak blades might like it but the tooltip’s low in no-CP
- The lotus fan nerf is a little too big imo. Unless you’re a melee I don’t see the point with all other dots getting a buff
- Sap’s healing is okayish, I could see someone making a sap tank build if it wasn’t for onslaught
- Onslaught buff will make for some people interesting 2h magblade builds.
- Dot tooltips are great, crazy long ramp up
- My gear was a little different but healthy Offering seemed changed, I’m not sure
Here’s what I’m thinking for my build when the patch hits:
Breton
5L-1M-1H. Buffer of the swift, Transmutation and the grundwhatever monster set, master’s staff back bar. 2x sp glyphs, 1x mag recovery
Healthy Offering, Illustrious Healing, Mutagen, Refreshing Path, Shadowy Disguise - Soul Siphon
Soul Splitting Trap, debilitate, entropy, Flame Reach, Shade - Soul Harvest
Sort of like a hot healer with healthy Offering for burst healing. Dots for offense, but I might drop one for impale.
What are you guys planning on doing with your jewellery traits? Protective looks... meh. Triune or leave as magicka?

[PVE or PVP] What is ESO's "Dad Build?"
Pretty funny Kotaku article I read talks about "Dad Builds." PC Gamer says that "Dad Loadouts" are defined by three criteria:
1.Be easy to obtain with good perks.
2.Hold its own in competitive play.
3.Be easy to use in pretty much all circumstances.
What's ESO's Dad Build in your opinion? This thread is meant for info but also for fun. Personally its Pet Sorc for me. I just go on my Pet Sorc if im not at the top of my game (I.E. tired from University, etc.) and it works for both PVP and PVE.

Gold Mats and Refining.
Large groups of people refined hundreds of thousands of raw materials and compiled their data to find the average person would gain around 1 gold material per 100 raw materials they refined. This information was gathered by using very very large sums of refined data and not just one persons good, bad or average experience refining as they have played the game.
However I find myself in the tin foil hat community as it seems...
I have refined around 25,000 raw materials and talked to other players who have also refined similar totals of raw materials and it seems the drop table for gold materials have been dropped by around 30% resulting in 1 gold material every 130 or so raw materials. This is not new information. It has been talked about before on the forums and other people have detailed spread sheets showing the results.
This may seem insignificant but in most cases this means you can sell your raw materials for more than the items you will get from refining on average.
So I guess the whole point of this thread is to let people know that you can normally make more gold selling raw materials than refining. Sadly.

Quest bosses level scalling
Does anyone else feels like the common quests bosses should be somehow level scalled so they can be stronger? (much stronger). It is always so dissapointing when you are doing the quest and then the grand finale, the boss fight takes like 5 seconds cause they are so damn weak.

could you make all light / heavy attacks scale like bash does (both sources combined) would be nice.
using a culmination of all stamina and magicka sources rather then just magicka for staves and stam for everything else.
it wont effect anything we currently have in a negative way but would be a bit better for hybrids or magicka melee that use DW / SB to have their melee attacks not be crippled as a result of not wanting to use a stick like everyone else.
