NoldoBot - Discord Bot to arrange Trials

$

0
Hello everyone,

since in my guild we're using Discord to arrange trials and since it was very annoying to make long messages with trial rosters and even more to edit them each and every time a user wants to join in/out I created a bot that does the job for you.

Given these 3 informations:

Trial Name (in shorthand like vaa or vss)
Trial Date (in any format as long as not containing the "-" symbol)
Trial Time (in any format as long as not containing the "-" symbol)

Noldobot will create an interactive message looking like this:

biqa5iwxdz3k.png

The actual required roster will change accordingly to the specified trial (here it was VSS requiring 2 tanks, 2 healers, 5 DDs and 3 runners for portals) and the bot will add reaction-roles to allow users to join in.

Users will be able to join the trial by pressing the desired role and the bot will update the message just like this (here I'm joining as magDD):

More detailed information about usage and the link to invite the bot in your own server can be found on Noldobot Website

Shifting goalposts regarding DPS requirements

As dps numbers have continually increased, the amount of dps people assume you need to pull to clear vet content has also increased. Why is this? As far as I can tell content hasn’t been buffed, to the contrary many fights that used to be more challenging have been nerfed despite increasing dps numbers.

I started playing this game as a tank and having pugged hundreds of vet dungeons with low dps I can confirm that any non dlc vhm 4 person dungeon (and atleast a couple vet dlcs) can be completed with a group dps around or even below 25k. Sure you can’t blow past mechanics but it can be done if you are coordinated and know what you are doing.

Only a couple years ago 25k to 30k on dummy was considered really good for a dps, and some groups were clearing hm trials with those numbers. Now that we have had all of this power creep, people assume you need much more, but I don’t think you do 90% of the time.

You don’t need god like dps to beat content (except maybe the highest difficulty of vet dlc trials or leaderboard runs), and players should stop telling new players that they are *** if they can’t get minimum 30k. It is making the game less fun and more elitist, alienating too many players that mmos depend on to remain healthy imo.

Suggestion: slight adjustment to Stone Giant, for healthier gameplay

ZOS' justifcation from the v5.2.2 notes:
  • Reduced the duration of the stacks to 5 seconds per application, down from 10 seconds, to help ensure that non-damage focused builds cannot maintain Stone Giant’s powerful group tool of damage taken as efficiently, since it works on again, literally everything.

While their intentions are good, the logic behind this change is backwards, for two reasons:
  1. The duration of the stack (whether 5 or 10 seconds) is irrelevant to large groups. This is by nature of the zerg—individual players need not allocate time/GCDs towards performing defensive actions (since this is managed by other dedicated roles), thereby enabling the aforementioned "non-damage focused builds" (i.e tanks) to dedicatedly spam a single action. In this case stonefist, well within the 5s window.
  2. Conversely, the tooltip of the Stagger effect scales extremely well with group size. The 135 damage per tick is multiplied by every damage source you add to the equation. 10x the players, 10x the ticks, 10x the damage.

Solution
ZOS' stated goals would be more realistically achieved using the original values of these effects (10s stack, 25 damage per stack). As already mentioned, this would curtail large group-usage, but it also has the benefit of enabling more practical usage at the solo/smallscale level:
  • Smaller group size means fewer damage sources, thus the damage-per-tick nerf to 25 has a lesser effect, proportionately-speaking.
  • A 10s window makes it more feasible for solo/smallscale to line-up a full stack and deliver the CC effect. This is because when outnumbered, one often has to alternate offensive windows with defensive and/or movement windows, for which a 5s stack duration is too short and will often expire before the next offense.

P.S. Keep the stack limit at 3.

Twitch Crates for PS4 na

I linked my PS4 and twitch account all in eso account link section, and I have 60+ twitch Crates in my twitch notification, however since I linked it last week, I have received 2 emails saying I’ve got twitch crates available and will be in my game, but after few days past, it’s still not, I’ve still not received it.
Is this a bug? Or has it been enabled yet? Or is there something wrong with my account?
Please advise.

Hey,
it seems that Banner doesnt get its damage increased by the searing heat passive.
This here shows the difference with and without the passive on a naked char (without food, passives, attributes, mundus, CP, gear etc.).
As you can see besides the increased duration, dmg doesnt get buffed. I've tested on dummies to verify.

Last patch the functionality of jumping in ESO got changed, which for consoles means when you press the jump button you instantly jump, versus jumping when you release the jump button. On console, you must press block and jump simultaneously in order to execute a dodge roll. Previously this was done by FIRST pressing and holding A (the jump button), THEN tapping LT (the block button) so that the dodge roll could be instantly executed without being forced to block. NOW YOU MUST BLOCK BEFORE YOU CAN DODGE. This is one of the worst changes that has ever gone unnoticed by the masses in my opinion. I straight up cannot dodge roll in combat without spending stam blocking for no reason whatsoever.

Please revert this.

Need advices on HM Nahviintas completion

$
0
0
Hello friends.

I came here to kindly ask for advices on how to clear Nahviintas on HM. Firstly I'll explain how we do it and how far we got.

We are country-locked community so there are minimal possible group composition changes. We don't want to take all fun of the game so we don't force anyone into playing meta classes. Anyone can play what he wants and is experienced with. Our group composition is:
2x Dk tank (in extreme case, one of them can switch to Warden or Templar)
2x templar healer (not changeable)
1x stamsorc (not changeable)
3x magicka sorcerer (not changeable)
1x magicka templar (not changeable)
1x magicka NB (not changeable)
1x magicka DK (not changeable)
1x is a free spot that is filled by someone who can come to trial at a time (usualy stamwarden or magDK).

We kill frost and fire HMs on first pull so that saves us a lot of time.

On HM Nahviintas, we do the very boring but easy tactic:
1) 1st flight phase, same as non-HM
2) kill statue, 0 dmg to boss
3) dmg boss till portals spawn
4) 3 DDs go to portal, the rest of DDs keep damaging boss till adds spawn
5) kill adds, Alkosh's Fate firstly. By this time MT can rest because from now on they can switch normaly on Mark.
6) 2nd flight phase, same as non-HM
7) We repeat the process untill we get past last flight phase. Then we plan (we never got there) to kill the statue and than just put boss to execute phase and complete it.

Our problem is, things upstairs work fine. We can kill adds easily, main tank can survive Mark easily even without Guard (however one healer is using Gossamer) and Soul Tear is outhealed without any problems. The problem is the group downstairs. We can't help them, we can only wish them luck and hope they come back alive. Our best tries are when we get past 3rd flight phase (Eternal Servant killed 2 times). But the third and last attempt on Eternal Servant ends in failure :-(

The three heroes that are going downstairs are a magblade, a magplar and a magsorc. They have specificaly adjusted setups to this fight:
- Slimecraws
- magblade and magplar have 3x bloothirsty jewelry
- magsorc has lightning blockade
- magsorc procs infused Crusher
- magblade has Master Architect
- CPs, Mundus, Food, all adjusted to this fight
- Major breach and minor magickasteal are present
- they all take Jorvulded Olorime and get Jorvulded Horn and Reviving Barrier before going downstairs.

There are several problems reported by the three portal runners. They specificaly complain about Pin desync. When you get pinned while moving rapidly, the synergy to unpin the player won't work. They changed their tactic to come together before each pin and stop moving. While this solves the desync problem (a bug in the game that makes fight harder than intended) it creates other problems such as unlucky negates and so on.
But the biggest problem is, even if they do things right and everything goes smoothly, they kill Eternal Servant shortly before 3rd Pin. Even the slightest mistake (like putting Negate from Eternal Servant on Storm Attronach) will result in 3rd Pin coming to reality.

Our frustration is growing. The portal runners are getting frustrated because there is absolutely zero tolerance for mistakes on Eternal Servant, and game bugs add even more to the frustration. And the rest is frustrated because we can do nothing about that. There are almost no mechanics upstairs and we only sit on the boss and wait if the group from downstairs come up or calls on discord "it's lost, jump to the fire wall".

We got one advice that we haven't tried yet and that is delaying interrupt on Eternal Servant to buy time. We weren't doing that and interrupted Eternal Servant immediately after it became interruptable.

If you experienced guys know anything that could help, I kindly ask you to share it, please.

Thank you for any advices in advance.

This is really bad, feedback was large about how the costs on skills are massive. This will slow down combat and make it boring since you have to fight your resources more than actual fighting the mob/boss. :(

New Class Idea - DragonBorn

$

The Dragonborn. One of the most legendary warriors in Elder Scroll Lore. Forged in Beauty and chaos. And would make an awesome addition as a class to ESO in my opinion.
And definitely the coolest and most unique thing to separate it from other classes would be shouts. Using shouts in ESO would just be so awesome. And what better way to make it more rewarding and more legenday then to only use shouts for ultimates.

So here is an example/ few ideas of what the skills of the dragonborn could look like.

Warrior
Ultimate(Fus Ro Da)
Project the power of the voice to send your enemies flying for x damage and knocking them back and stunning them for 3 seconds. 10x16
Sword Throw
Hurl a sword at your enemies piercing anyone in its wake ignoring thier resistances for x(light) damage(Single Target AoE)
disarm
Strike your enemy with force, disarming them for 3 seconds causing them to not be able to use skills for 2 seconds. (Single target negate)
Knights Strike
Reign death on your enemies. Swinging a great sword in fury, cuasing x damage to anyone in your reach(powerful aoe)
Judgement
Grant Judgement upon your enemies and allies, Damaging your enemies and shunning them causing them to take x damage per second for x seconds, And healing your allies for a small amount and granting them major courage
Kings Shield
Summon a ring of shields around you. To take x damage and making you immune to stuns for 2 seconds

Wizard
Ultimate(Storm of Magnus)
Shout to the heavens. Calling for Magnus's grace. Summoning the 3 elements in bursts every 5 seconds. The first wave is fire. doing great damage and burn. The second wave is frost, dealing medium damage but slowing enemies. Then a shock wave doing medium to heavy damage and stunning enemies.
Healing
Heal yourself for a medium burst and a small hot over 6 seconds.
Flames
Set your enemies ablaze. Projecting a long constant flame in front of you for 2 seconds dealing medium damage.(Small AoE) - not like dragonknight. think skyrim
Lightning Prison
Cage your opponent in lightning. periodically shocking them for x damage. and immobilzing them for x seconds. under the effect they are inflicted with minor vulnerability
Magic Fury
Envolope yourself in magic, granting you 10% mobility, minor intellect, and minor sorcery
Magic Cloak
Surrounf yourself with the elements, causing x damage to anyone in a x meter radius.

True Dova
Ultimate(Dragon Aspect)
Take the form of a dragon granting 10k resistances, increasing magicka, health, and stamina regen by 200 for 4 seconds. During this time you cannot take critical damage.
Dragonhide
Take on the toughness of a dragon. Granting Major Ward to you and your allies for x seconds. And minor toughness.
Dragon Scales
Dragon Scales cover your body, granting you major evasion, and staggering opponents that hit you with direct attacks for x seconds
Dragon Spirit
Behold the spirit of a dragon, bestowing a great aura to you and your allies.healing yourself and allies over x seconds. And granting minor savagery and prophecy.
Dragon Roar
Strike fear into anyone who dare to oppose you. making enemies flee in terror for x seconds.(Similar to nightblade fear)
Dragon Command
Command respect from your enemies causing them in a x radius to attack you.(AoE aggro). And grant your allies the courage to attack your enemies at thier best(Minor berserk or similar)

Power Fantasy! Let's talk about it

I refer to the ZOS article where they talk about class changes: https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-gb/news/post/57025
I open this post to see what is missing, what should not be touched and to hear the opinions of the other players as well.
I state that i play all the four classes even though i am not an elite player i know the various skills that all classes use.

I begin by talking about the "non-class skill lines" i just say to be very careful with these skills because nerf them to much would affect something that I think "is part of the game and is part of the players' habits "so they are not only skills for fill gaps but they are part of the chosen role: tank, healer, DD.

Now I'll talk about power fantasy for the various classes and the various inevitable coincidences that can be found:

DK - Dragon Knight
This class should exploit the power of fire and earth, is it really so?
DK Tank: can forget about the power of fire and the famous Engulfing Flame skill and now focuses on the power of the earth, maybe some area skills are missing but go well;
DK Stamina: now they have modified the spam skill that uses the power of the earth but in principle it exploits the poison (coincidence with other roles);
DK Healer: has some interesting heal skills that use fire but can be improved, I don't use it but it doesn't seem like a famous healer class;
DK Magicka: class that uses the power of fire but with update 23 has completely lost its identity, to be definitely improved.

Warden
This class should use the power of nature (including frozen magic), of pets, is it really so?
Warden Tank: Exploit we say all the powers listed above, ZOS wants nerf the Polar Wind but I do not agree, perhaps what distinguishes this tank is just the group care;
Warden Stamina: use the pet this is sure and the poison, the poison is part of nature so ok;
Warden Magicka: even the magicka dd uses the pet, the spam skill is the same as the warden, magicka version, maybe this spam skill could work better, too slow.
Warden Healer: use nature to heal and class skills, it would have been nice to heal with frozen area skills but they don't exist, anyway is in the top 3 best healers in the game.

Necromancer:
They use the power of death, is it really so?
Necro Tank: it would have been nice to pull enemies with rotten meat but that's okay, slow yes but ok, the rest was done well;
Necro Stamina: uses the disease in the skills and the no death pet, have included the poison in the skills ... ok (coincidence with other roles);
Necro Magicka: looks like a warden, uses the fire, frozen and shock dmg, has lost the class spam, to be reviewed completely;
Necro Healer: few class skills because the class ones use corpse and are slow, already many healers are slow without the skills being slow, at the moment use the other skills more, not bad as healer anyway.

NB - Night Blade
Should use the power given by the shadow and all the martial powers given by the swords, daggers, etc., is it really so?
NB Tank: I do not use this class, but of what I saw is well balanced and the skills that it uses coincide with its role, at the moment it is very good in the tank role;
NB Stamina: uses the power of the blades and the shadow in the skills, but it has been too weakened, only the elite DDs manage to reach a good dps with this class at the moment, they should at least modify the skill surprice attack and give the major breach;
NB Healer: it does not seem to me to be the top healer, some care skills in the area that use the shadow could be modified;
NB Magicka: the skills reflect the class but too much confusion and too many dots, it should be simplified.

Templar
Should he use divine power, the power of light, is it really so?
Templar Tank: I don't use it but I always liked it as a class, I'm sure it's not bad but some class skills for this role need to be revised;
Templar Stamina: far from being good, it uses all non-class skills, I just hope they don't touch biting jabs in the next update;
Templar Healer: top healer thanks to shards but now ZOS seeks a general equality with all healers;
Templar Magicka: ok for the light skills but has lost its identity with the update 23, the solar barrage that described this class will be completely eliminated in the next update, even the blazing spear does not do so much damage, so it is no longer a magicka templar but only a magicka light that uses other skills + vampire's bane and radiant oppression.

Sorcerer
Class that should exploit all the powers that can be given by magic while maintaining its identity, is it really so?
Sorcerer Tank: I do not use this class but considered it interesting, maybe some skills can be changed but maybe it would be to strengthen this role too much ..., I don't know;
Sorcerer Stamina: they are trying to improve this role, with the next update there will be magic daggers to use with the Bound Armaments skill, but there is still a lot missing, for example a skill for regeneration of the stamina, at the moment in the build the Dark Deal skill is used Deal but slows rotation too much;
Sorcerer Magicka: the role without the pet is dead..and now they want to kill the role with pets too ... (why increase the cost in magicka of the pet?), a class that has lost its identity and who should improve this class does not particularly love the Crystal Fragments skill because it goes against the "pvp" ideas of ZOS, therefore spam skills and Mage's Fury gone, what will remain of this class?
Sorcerer Healer: now it's much better, thanks to the use of radiating regeneration.

In conclusion there is still so much to do and ZOS will surely make so many mistakes because it has this surface approach in fixing things, we hope well.
I await your opinions and those of ZOS, ciao

Can we maybe get the option to hide shoulder pads like we can hide helmet?

I can't be the only one who does not like them, and while we are at it can we do the same with gloves?

Why the backslash change :(

I can understand where the Devs come from, but backslash is something to "mark" the enemy, I would almost always target the backlash target in a group because it's obvious

I think the better change would scale the max damage based on character power or give credit to the players doing the damage during backlash

The purpose of this thread is to give you a place to post your current top two pain points with the Templar. Our new Class Representatives will be keeping a close eye on this thread, and will utilize it to gather additional feedback for the notes they’re currently compiling for their first meeting with the Dev Team next week. Please be sure and keep your post clear and succinct, and focus more on what is currently frustrating you rather than potential solutions. Thanks!

Guild Medieval - [PC/NA/All Alliances/Any Level/Mature/Social/Family Oriented]

R7SLHdXh.jpg
Guild Medieval was founded in 2001 as a haven for Diablo 2 players wishing to play in a mature, safe environment free of hacks and obnoxious behavior. We have since branched out to DDO, D3, WoW, PoE, NW and Tera, and are exploring other worlds besides. In DDO we are known as The Silver Legion, and have become one of the largest, most successful, and stable guilds on Cannith.

We are duplicating our efforts here, offering a home to any gamer that recognizes the value in our level of organization and sterling reputation. We are family-friendly, helpful, and courteous. Thematically, we are built around the idea of feudal kingdoms and orders of knights with a strong code of conduct. Many of our members form friendships that last beyond the games we play (some have even gotten married).

Guild Medieval is foremost a community of like-minded people who happen to like playing online games together. We are only concerned about the person behind the keyboard, and not your gear or accomplishments. When joining us, you join our community which means interacting with members on our forums and not just in-game. We are always recruiting, and our requirements are strict.

*No Profanity.
*No Harassment.
*No Sexism/Racism/Bigotry.
*No Hacks.
*No Cheating.

We encourage fair play, courtesy, and camaraderie, with players both in-guild and out.

Register on our forum to see our full list of rules and policies, and fill out the application. All serious applications are considered and replied to–this means filling out the reason for joining with more than just a couple sentences. Responses are usually within 48 hours. Check back for PMs on our forums regarding your application. Applications with little information, poor grammar, or generally showing a lack of earnestness will not be considered.

To reiterate, we are highly selective. We are a guild of friends, and it’s hard to make new friends with someone who doesn’t make an effort in an introduction. Showing us you want to belong and value the same things we do will go a long way in your application. Your application is viewable by any member, so keep in mind that this is how you are presenting yourself to the guild.

Please use this thread for any questions you may have or PM directly about it.

Q&A Section

Q: Are there playtime requirements?

A: None at all. Play as much as you like. Even if you quit Elder Scrolls Online, our forums are open to you (given that you have become a knight–a full and permanent member of the guild).

Q: What timezones do you play in?

A: Guild Medieval is international, with members split about evenly between the Americas and Europe, and with a good representation from Australia and East Asia. Peak times tend to be evenings for both US and EU, but there are usually a few members on at all times.

Q: Which Megaserver do you play on?

A: Starting our guild chapter into Elder Scrolls Online, we will be located on the NA server to start with. In the future we might consider expanding on the EU server too. That said, we accept applicants from all across the world, not just NA.

Q: Which faction will you support?

A: Due to One Tamriel, we support all factions. The guild however was founded in Daggerfall Covenant, any member can pick any alliance they want.

Q: Is Discord required?

A: Nope. Some members have hearing difficulties or just don’t like using it. Some have to have it off for household considerations. You will need to communicate by text chat though. While it is not a requirement, we do have a Discord server, and lots of our members choose to use it.

Q: Is it required to use the guild forums?

A: Yes! We are first and foremost an online community, one that happens to play games together. You do not have to be a posting maniac, but you do have to show that you can and will participate.

Q: It’s okay to swear, talk about doing drugs, sex, and other “adult” topics, right?

A: Well, no. When we say “mature” we also mean having the ability to keep polite company. We are family-friendly, meaning we keep things we don’t want our children hearing out of our guild gaming. You can swear to your heart’s content with your mic off, but we keep our forums and chat clean.

Q: What are your age requirements?

A: Under 16 we take some consideration. Otherwise age is not a factor. As long as you are mature in thought and action, that’s enough. We also have a special “Page” rank for younger children of members.

Q: What does your guild provide to its members?

A: A safe and friendly gaming environment. That’s all. We get you away from griefers, cheaters, the dishonest, and the people you just don’t want to be around. We have lots of nice members who gladly share loot and will help you in many and various ways, but none of that is guaranteed. A lot of what you get out is what you put in. Share and be helpful, and you’ll see it come right back to you.

Q: How skilled/experienced do I have to be to join?

A: Skill and experience are not factors in joining or becoming full members of Guild Medieval. We have very skilled players and players that are still learning the game. We are only concerned about the person in front of the screen. If you have the qualities we share that make you a good person, and not necessarily a good player, we will be happy to have you.

Q: I put in an application but didn’t hear back. Was I not accepted? What should I do?

A: Remember that communications are handled through our website. After you apply, you do need to check back on the site, especially to see if you have received any Personal Messages (PMs). Also check your spam folder since we do send e-mail by default when you receive a PM, post in open forum we have for waiting applicants or reply to this thread. Once you are accepted, you’ll have a rank of “Squire” and will be able to view the rest of our forums. Check our site even if you did not receive a welcome letter by e-mail.

Q: I put in an application but I didn’t get any e-mails or PMs, and I can’t even log into the site anymore. What happened?

A: You were either outright rejected, or we attempted to contact you via PM on our site and you did not reply within a week. See above about how selective we are. Things that will get your application rejected:

*Breaking rules in your application like swearing (yes, even acronyms and replacing letters with stars), or giving graphic examples of derogatory behavior you have encountered elsewhere. We already know it is out there so we don’t need specific examples of horrible things said to you or witnessed. Your application is publicly viewable, so we cannot allow those examples in the applications. Keep your application instead positive and focused on how you and Guild Medieval will be a good match.

*Applying with a forum, account, or character name that breaks our rules. We get a surprising number of these despite detailing what is not allowed in our rules. Check your names over. Do any of them break the rules that you agreed to before filling out the application, or could they be interpreted a way you didn’t intend?

*Only writing a couple sentences or telling nothing of substance about yourself. Your gaming history is fine to list (we actually have a separate place for it on your profile once your account is created), but it could belong to anyone. What is it about you that will make our members want to know you?

*Poor spelling and grammar. We don’t expect perfection, and understand difficulties especially if your first language isn’t English, but we do expect your best effort. Communication is very important in online games, and if your application gives a headache to someone trying to decipher it, it will not be considered.

Edited: Added links under the trailer for easier access to the website/signing up.

It would be beneficial. I realise not using them in PvP should be a pre-requisite but for solo questing they could be very handy and add a bit of life into solo travails/grind. Is there a reason why this can't be done?
