How Catering to casuals has affected PvP....

$

Hello to all who are reading my name is PurpaleSlushii... A little background so you guys know about where I’m coming from here, I have been playing ESO since 1.6. I have 1260 Cp on ps4 and 700 on Pc.

All I have ever done is solo play probably 80% of the time and the rest is either duo or small scale of up to four but that is very rare. Since starting this wild game I have seen so many metas come and go so many different players so many different play styles and builds. One thing that has never changed tho is solo play yes it is harder now but the feeling you get, that rush of adrenaline you feel when you are outnumbered by 5 people nothing in any other game compares to it.

The best is when you are able to out play the people attacking you and you can take all of them out by yourself that feels the best. It’s not so much that you are just flat out killing them because your build is better but you know how to read your opponents you understand that in fights you have to make sacrifices defensively and offensively you have to use your environment to your advantage and attack when the enemy is least expecting it. You also must know when to attack and what player to kill first in order to give you the best advantage of winning the fight.

For example if you have a Nb hitting you hard when you’re outnumbered you know they will probably be the easiest to take out first because of how squishy they are and killing them will take much pressure off of you so you can finish the fight. Little things like this you learn as you go out and experience cyrodiil solo. These little tips and tricks build off of each other and allow you as a player to get to the point of being able to fight more and more people while outnumbered.

You build the skill and confidence to go out and actually be a beast on the battle field and that’s how you get known. As patch’s keep coming and going tho solo is getting harder and harder and players with no skill or little cp are able to take out and kill theses solo players just because they can one shot or use cheese builds to take advantage of there opponent.

Here’s the problem we as a community are now facing and because of this problem and Zos is forced to make everyone happy. The problem is, now get ready and take a deep breath because some of you might not be able to handle this truth but the main problem is ZERGLINGS. To under stand this problem we must go back in time a little bit.

When Elder Scrolls Online came out I remember it being a land of mystery. You never knew where you were going and you were always finding random fights anywhere in the map. You could be North, South, East, or West it didn’t matter you would find fights of some sort. Either solo fights or small scale but you would never see Zergs unless you were at keeps. These were the days everyone was still trying to figure the game out and there class and everyone was ok with going out and fighting and trying to get better.

As time progressed metas changed and more and more damage was introduced into the game like proc sets and damage sets. As this happened we started to see an influx to group play and larger scale groups. As this happened we saw certain classes being extremely dominate due to more damage sets.

When this happened we saw more and more groups being formed to deal with players what would be able to take out normal players with ease. As solo players learnerd to adapt with the changing patch’s group players and zerglings relied more and more on there group mates to stay alive and to deal damage. Instead of running solo or getting in a smaller group and trying to understand how to deal with the more damage and how to take on more players now that the damage is higher these players decided to say screw it and just zerg.

Here’s the main problem with that and this is how everything In this post comes together. These same players that continue to zerg and rely on there teammates to keep them alive and to do damage are the same people that are complaining that other classes are to op or certain things need nerfed. When this happens Zos listens and nerfs stuff because the majority of the player base now Zergs or runs groups so Zos wants it to be easy for them to kill people that actually have skill because they want to cater to casuals.

The main issue shouldn’t be that one player shouldn’t be able to 1vx 5 players. The main issue is that 5 players can even get 1vxexd. If these zerglings or group players would actually go out and experience solo play, and actually take the time to learn how to play there class and when to use certain skills and understand when to go offensive and defensive they wouldn’t be struggling against these solo players because they could actually protect them self’s instead of screaming at there group mate to spam healing springs. Like it’s crazy to me that people that spam heals and other people that do nothing but spam gap closers are the same people getting 1vxed but are at the same time the same people complaining about people being to strong solo and shouldn’t be able to 1vx.

Don’t get me wrong 1vx should for sure be a thing but you shouldn’t be able to 1vx good players but you should always be able to 1vx players who don’t have as much skill as you.

Seems like some people are missing the point of this post. The main point is if zos keeps catering to these casuals we will no longer be able to 1vx because everything we like to use for 1vX will be nerfed. The main point is to not cater to casuals. I could care less if there’s zergs in fact the more the better. But stop listening to these players when they say stuff needs nerfed. You can’t have a good understanding of what needs to be nerfed and buffed if all you do is zerg and rely on your teammates. Zos needs to listen to the small scale community when making changes, not zergling casuals that have no idea how to play without needing help from others.

Its the year of the dragons. The future could be brighter for eso, but lets not talk about that. Im making this topic in an interesting, new, and bright idea.

the continent of Pyandonea
- a manace and a treat for the altmer master race, but a bright and wonderful world where the Maormer living.
vDIRrzI.png

The island is covered mostly in dense rain forests which provides a habitat for the southern water spirits. It was also marshy, and full of insects. The Maormeri practice a powerful form of snake magic which they use to tame the sea serpents of Pyandonea for use as mounts and warbeasts.

Thats right! Jungles, water! all the glorious ideas. It would fit well the story*

Dedicated healer build for largescale, please advise

Today I went into Cyro to grind for (more) geodes, this time with my magplar.
He was still wearing a hybrid healer/DPS build for PvE - I didn't feel like digging out my old PvP healing gear for this, in part because I'm lazy and simply could not be bothered.

Aside from a few deaths - which could be directly attributed to a lack of Impen gear and PvP mobility skills (such as RAT) - it went quite well, and it reminded me of how PvP can still be fun, even despite all the nerfs being hurled around every update :)

So at this point, I'm seriously considering putting together a proper largescale healer/support build for Cyro.
For reference, my "old" build was Transmutation + Julianos + mismatched monster sets (because I did not have Engine Guardian at the time yet). 5H+1M+1L. SnB backbar.
That was quite a mediocre combination: survivability was decent enough, but sustain was rather poor.

To clarify: we're talking about CP PvP here, largescale gameplay - groups smaller than 12 need not apply :D

I've bolded what I consider to be points of contention below; by all means please comment on those.

Class:
I'm considering either Templar or Sorc for this.
The latter both because my main is a Sorc, and also because of their excellent mobility. Additionally, in my experience, the Sorc execute works quite well in this kind of application. Templar execute is OK, but it's too easy to break the beam with LoS at range.

Race:
My main (Sorc) and my Templar are both Argonian, so not much of a choice there. Can't be bothered to roll a new character just for this purpose only to be able to use a BiS race.

Sets:
5L+1M+1H, most likely.
Transmutation set is a given - this is non-negotiable, it's easily the best PvP healing set.
I was thinking about using SPC as the 2nd 5pc set - haven't tried it in PvP yet, so not sure how well it would work in practice.
Seducer would be another possible option; this would also allow using 5H+1M+1L if needed.
For monster set I'd preferably use Engine Guardian. Troll King would be another decent option, but I don't have it yet, and it would be quite a significant hit to sustain when using TK instead of EG.

Backbar:
On my old build I used SnB, but that wasn't really worth the hassle and caused more problems than it solved.
Instead, I was thinking of using either a lightning or an ice staff on backbar.
Lightning staff is better for XvX, but ice is more defensive and lets me block with magicka; not sure how I feel about blocking with magicka though.
There's also the question of what set to use on backbar. Backbarring Transmutation is kinda pointless, it doesn't accomplish anything useful.

Healing/support skills:
Illustrious and Radiating are a no-brainer. Siege Shield is yet another must-have skill.
Orb is quite decent actually (when used correctly), good AoE heal + synergy.
Combat prayer? Sounds good on paper, but I didn't find it terribly useful in practice; it works well in trials but not so well in open world Cyro PvP. Maybe I was not utilizing it correctly? :/
Time Stop (Borrowed Time)? I tried using it earlier, it works very well when it does work at all. Unfortunately, it seems that nearly everyone has snare and/or CC immunity nowadays, so most of the time it just wastes a lot of magicka with no useful effect to show for it. :/
(Sorc) Power Surge or Crit Surge? The former is a lot easier to proc on a healer, and also heals allies.
(Sorc) Matriarch? Good burst heal, heals 1 or 2 allies, gives some free damage mitigation (LoS). 2 skill slots is a pretty steep price to pay for that, though.

Buff/mobility skills:
Boundless+Streak/BoL+Dark Deal on a Sorc, RAT+Focus+RoR on a Templar. This is another no-brainer.
Major Sorcery from Surge on a Sorc, or Degen on a Templar.

Ultimates:
On a Sorc, Negate (damage morph) is too good to pass up. On a Templar, Remembrance (or the other morph).
Temporal Guard on healing bar for the free Minor Protection?

Bound Armaments sound design opinion

Glad the skill got some noise!
However I think the sound is too sharp and unpleasant overall (scraping nails over blackboard kinda vibe) and the proc activation (daggers flying off) sound is a bit undistinguishable; doesn't give a good feedback on the action.
I was hoping for something a bit more deep and thumpy, a more unique sound for getting the final 4th dagger up instead of the same so it's easier to tell the best time for activation, and more distinguishable impact sounds for each of the daggers as they hit the target for general feel/action feedback.

While the skill redesign is really cool mechanically, the art and sound design are nowhere near as fun and satisfying as the Crystal Fragments proc, for example.

Magicka Sorcs Against Ball of Lightning

Please do not let the current version of Ball go Lightning go unscathed through the PTS. Ball of Lightning and Streak are two of the most used and iconic skills within the sorcerer kit. If the idea is to increase sorc identity via mobility you do not do that by making arguably the best mobile ability more mobile via snare immunity and ranged CC/snare immunity from all magicka builds.

By that logic, templars should should have their BoL (Breath of Life) buffed to give them further identity as the healing class. The changes to Ball of Lightning and Streak are unnecessary, and in regards to the former, a huge overloading of an already strong ability.

Wings were nerfed for being over bearing to ranged builds. Ball of Lightning, at 3 seconds has the same effect except it is even stronger. For all those DK mains who were upset about the wings nerf, please join a sorc main in nerfing Ball of Lightning. If your class cannot have overloaded abilities neither should sorcerers.

Adding to that, the change to Ball of Lightning turns it from a defensive ability to a hybrid offensive/defensive ability (that in actuality out-performs Streak on the PTS). The stun change, while welcomed as it provides a much needed fix to a void in the class kit, is actually killing diversity. Instead of having 1 offensive and 1 defensive morph, you know have 1 over-performing morph and the other one.

Sorcerer already has a plethora of underperforming skills (I'd strongly argue 1/3 of the kit) that could benefit from a balance pass. Spending time buffing one of the strongest tools in the live sorc kit is a detrimental detour that will ultimately result in nerfing the class in the wrong area (as sorcerer has always been nerfed). Streak sees more use than Ball of Lightning because there is no viable class stun. You do not address this issue by turning a defensive utility skill into an offensive stun but rather by turning the CLASS STUN into a usable ability *cough Rune Cage cough*.

Furthermore, one of the reasons that Streak was originally changed to be negated by block was due to abuse in group play where sorcs would spam a 0 counter AoE CC. Shards stun was removed for similar reasons. Why reimplement this in Streak?

Now of course we do not need a repeat of the Rune Cage fiasco, but neither do we need Ball of Lightning to parallel those dark times.

Please consider not over-buffing an already powerful ability.

Ideally leave Streak and Ball of Lightning untouched from current Live versions. But definitely do not allow Ball of Lightning to persist beyond 1.5 seconds.

If you want to give Sorcerers an offensive stun, buff Defensive Rune/Rune Cage.

If you want to increase mobility, buff the underwhelming Boundless Storm. Give this ability snare immunity.

If you want to create scenarios of critical decision-making instead of giving players a singular ability that out-performs everything else, give Hurricane snare immunity and force players to choose between survivability and offence. Do not give players the best of both worlds in a single skill (see Draining Shot changes in 5.0.0)

TL;DR:
Leave Streak and Ball of Lightning as they are on Live. Give Lightning Form and morphs snare immunity. Standardize power levels properly.

Should ESO have weapons & Armor furnishings?

Weapons, Shields and Armor furnishings yes or no? Created this poll after someone said a poll should be made in my thread about weapons and Armor furnishings. My point behind this is what’s the point in owning a place like daggerfall overlook if you can’t have the illusion of an army or a suit of Armor silently guarding the hallways?
2nd Edit (replaced original edit with a clearer explanation): Also these weapons should have a place to store them so how bout weapon racks for weapons and dummies to hold the Armor? (forgot to add these in the poll)

I writing on behalf of PC EU player Laki476 - he cannot access to the forum...
===================
From Saturday, 21st I cannot play the game properly -
there is no any possibility to make a trade between me and another players, no Guild Bank Access,
No Trading Guild access, no any possibility to communicate with another players in a Game chat

Before this time I spent mainly ~ 5 hours in Cyrodill, didn't use any inappropriate actions or use inappropriate or
insulting words
I don't see any reason for a social Ban - if it is... Plus if it social ban - 3 day passed already.. so what did I do?
Or if it bug, can you do something
Or at least reply to me - because when I wrote in the Game support - on one replied...

Hope for the prompt reply

Iam sure this is not a first thread regarding this topic but I want to make a update one. If you play both PVE and PVP feel free to tell us both.
I'll start-
I've been playing for 4 years
PVP - Stamden/bow-dw, I like the aoe burst and agility and it feels nice to run around with stupid high offensive stats
PVE - MagNB, I haven't played pve in a while but back in time it was a nice competitive class to use, dont like it with current dot meta

Flawless sacrament is the stupidest most annoying achievement I've found

(TL;DR: This achievement sucks ass, post the most annoying/hardest achievement you've done in this discussion)

Don't get me wrong i'm sure there's other ridiculous achievements but seriously what the hell is were the devs thinking with this one?

For those who don't know, this achievement has you doing 6 other grindy achievements from a quest you can only do ONCE per day, some of these achievements has you doing perfect runs that can take a few tries because of how easily you can make mistakes, it's not even a matter of having skill and being good at sneaking, because of one of the achievements needs you to kill EVERY single target, which are 21 in total, and guess what, it's not a rotation, the same target can show up in your daily even if you did it two days ago, EVEN if you manage to pull everything off perfectly this achievement can take you 3 weeks of constant sacraments, and if you're not lucky (like me) it can take you more than 40 days, I'm only one target left from the achievement and it hasn't showed up in 2 weeks, you can't even abandon and see if you get a different target, it's RNG based crap, like seriously, where's the fun in this ***? sacrament dailies get stale after a week or two of doing them, why force people to do them for almost a month if they want the memento? They could at least make it so it's rotation where you know who's gonna be the next target, but nope, go kill the same dude you killed yesterday, better luck next time ***!

I can't do much but rant, I just hope they don't make *** achievements like these in the future, feel free to post down below any achievement you've done that you find ridiculous/grindy/annoying

So is pet damage going to go back up along with all the other DOTs?

October 22, 2018 was the release date of Murkmire. Doy you think there is a chance ZOS will put it back in the store?

I somewhat criticized this house initially, but I changed my mind and now regret not getting it at that time with my accumulated subscription crowns.

Alt Characters as Placeable Furnishings

$
0
0
So let's be realistic. Barring being a place to drop those storage chests, housing is 99.7% about bragging rights and flaunting all the pretty things you have collected/crafted/bought/found/etc. And that's 100% okay. But another thing people like to show off are their outfits and motifs, as well as the characters themselves.

So basically... how cool would it be to have our characters be "placeable" in homes? ZOS has proven that 'placeable people' can be done, what with Pirharri, Nuzhimeh, & Tythis Andromo (or any of the "Assistants") existing. And while I can think of 1001 things that could be even cooler in that regard, I'd even take something basic.

Poses: characters could maintain idle poses from whatever personality you have assigned them (if applicable). Alternately, they could be assigned when they are "placed".
--Limits: obviously you'd be limited to whatever personalities you have earned or purchased.

Outfits: Similar to poses, this could just be taken from whatever outfit/costume you've currently assigned the character(s) in question, or you could assign them an outfit or costume when they were "placed".
--Limits: also fairly obvious, but you'd be limited to whatever costumes and outfit styles/slots you owned. Also a given.

General/Overall Limits: Obviously different-sized houses would limit how many characters could be placed. As fun as it might be to cram 17 alts into an inn room, it's easy to understand why that would need to be limited. lol.

Interactability: while it'd be cool to have them say generic NPC dialogue like "hail" or "yes?" or whatever, that'd just be a neat little bonus rather than something to be expected. Again, much like housing, having characters as "furnishings" would be mostly just to show them off, and would save many of us a dozen or more loading screens if we're showing off.

"But Zulera!" I can hear someone say, "why do you need to show off?"
because why not? The only gameplay use housing has is for those storage chests. The rest is to flaunt your goods and achievements. Why not be able to flaunt a few of your characters that you've no doubt poured all kinds of time and energy into perfecting their look, the same way you flaunt the houses you've put hours into furnishing and designing? It'd definitely also augment the roleplaying community (for better or for worse), so that's a bonus as well. Surely I can't be the only one who's ever thought of this.
...and I suppose regarding what happens if a character is a "furnishing" and you log in with that character... maybe it's just a paradox like all the Eazbis/Nuzhimehs/etc that are anywhere at any given time. I figure that's a minor issue at best.

TL;DR—let us have our alts as special furnishings, please?

Nightblade Still Over Performing

$

I'm not sure why nightblade class in general has not recieved a proper nerft. I play for pvp and pve, and I can say that this class does not compare to other classes in any way ahape or form, no matter what race you choose to play with. In PVP, I killed numerous people just by crit incap ulti, and manage to kill lots of 50k+ hp player in 4-5hits, with great sustain and surviavbility. Almost never run out of magicka/ stamina for both pvp & pve, and when about to die, just cloak ouy my way in pvp. Alway has problems sustaining on both my dragonknight and sorcerer. Currently when I play BG, 50% of the players are NB, 50% other classes. It's simply not right to equip a class with high dmg abilities/buffs/debuff/crowd control, for such a low cost. Suprise attack is spamble and high dmg and still gives major fracture. Veild blade make you moove 25% faster in cloak to run away, cheap minor beserk with high dmg bonus and either snare or minor endurance. Stun from fear and minor maim, also minor mai from ghosts, cheap major facture and breach for ganking from mark cheap ulti for stun/ulti regen/major defiler. Or a bit costy ulti for massive heal and major vitality/ high dmg and stun. Also, there is the unreasonable 10% crit dmg, like it was not doing high dmg already. This class should be reworked for nerfs big time. If I missed something and made a mistake, please let me know

It was a very niche set. Only viable for Magplars, Magnecro and Wardens. It allowed them to survive against some zerglings. It was already super cheap to buy. Now it's going to be completely worthless.
This is another example of how this game gets butchered because many people don't know how to play this game.
Soon everything will be so squishy in PvP that zerglings will be able to finally 1v1 everyone with light attacks.
