'Streaked for 49000 days' CC'd bug

$

There is a bug which occurs during combat which can cause your character to have a 'streak' debuff which lasts for over 49000 days.
I haven't narrowed it down but it affects many players within the group and occurs regularly during large fights.
It can only be removed by relogging / task manager'ing out and logging back in.

TUxP238.png

Symptoms:
Character movement is buggy your character looks like it is gliding or side strafing most of the time.
Attempting to bash actually prompts a 'Break Free' meaning you cannot interrupt anyone. Stam is used during the break free and visually it appears immunity is applied but it doesn't seem to actually be the case.
Additionally CP passives (unchained) do seem to register causing stam abilities to be at a reduced cost.
Combat in general appears very buggy and laggy after receiving the bug, e.g. synergies, dodge roll etc take longer to fire & break free is very slow to register - normally once we notice that we have it we have to relog asap because of this reason.

Hello guys. Yes, I'm aware of my words regarding mudballs a few weeks ago in a certain thread in General Discussion. I've maintained my promise to never slot those mementos again, except in guild events which have to be treated differently. (My main guild is a bit nuts)

Usually I now have nothing but potions, food and PvP sieges on my quickslots. So yeah. Truly sorry about the other day.

Anyway, moving on to my question.

Believe it or not, but I actually thoroughly enjoy writing. I do feel that everyone should have a creative pursuit and for me, writing is that pursuit. I have a long-term project where I am building a setting for an unrelated TTRPG.

Now here's the thing... The concept of RP in ESO sounds really cool to me! I love this setting's lore! Elder Scrolls will always be my first love in fantasy, and my favourite to boot.

But the idea of RP is, perhaps understandably, a little daunting.

Forgive me for the apparent ignorance. In many respects, that is exactly what it is. But it's like, how do people act within RP communities? Does it get, well, weird, if you catch my drift?

What expectations are there, beyond the obvious need to be respectful?

I think this question of mine here has been driven in no small part by the fact that I am writing a backstory for my main. Making good progress, I think, and it is very enjoyable. It's the first step I've made into writing TES fan-fiction.

Anyway, I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

[PC][NA] Returning Player Looking for Trade/Trial Guild.

I played ESO from launch on Xbox on and off for a couple years and got to around 500CP. Once I got my PC I bought ESO for it and played for a bit before taking a break. Recently I have gotten back into ESO (thanks corona) and I am looking for a couple guilds to join. I am around 350CP now, so nothing too crazy. I would like to join a guild for trading, preferably with cheap dues if any, and I would like to join a guild for normal/newby trial runs. I have experience on the game and I mostly know what I am doing, but I have little experience with trials and would like to farm them for gear. Looking for a trial guild that is understanding and helpful. Thank you!

Critique this Stamplar *No CP* Build

I’m thinking of converting my Magplar (which I quite like but have played to death recently) into a Stamplar to run a specific build, and am wondering if anyone has any thoughts about it before I bother respeccing and trying to get the gear for it. Please bear in mind that, in terms of PvP, I play essentially exclusively no-CP (mostly BGs). Note that I have some questions at the bottom of this post.

Here’s the build I’m thinking of.

Race: Wood Elf

Mundus Stone: Serpent (Stamina Recovery)

Food: Dubious Cameran Throne (OR Artaeum Takeaway Broth)

Potion: Tri-Stat

Gear:

5x New Moon Acolyte
5x Knightmare
2x Bloodspawn OR 1x Pirate Skeleton & 1x Lord Warden
2x BRP DW

In an ideal world, I’d have one Knightmare armor piece on a big piece, the rest of the armor be medium NMA, and the monster set pieces would be 1 medium and 1 light.

The gear would all be impenetrable, though I probably wouldn’t bother transmuting a well-fitted piece. Ideally, everything would have tri-stat glyphs on it, but that’d take some time, and I’d start with the big pieces.

The jewelry glyphs would be 2x weapon damage and 1x stamina recovery OR stamina cost reduction (I think there’s a named Knightmare ring that has stamina cost reduction, which I wouldn’t bother switching). The jewelry will all be Robust (though I believe that will require transmutes for all of them).

The front bar would be a 2H. Ideally, probably a Maul, but I think a Greatsword would actually be similarly good, depending on what skills I run. Either way, the 2H would be Nirnhoned, with a weapon damage enchant. The back bar would ideally be daggers. The main hand would be infused with a shock damage enchant, and the off hand would be defending or powered. The enchant on the off hand weapon wouldn’t really matter.

I think it probably makes sense to front bar the Knightmare set, since you won’t be triggering the 5-piece when you’re on the back bar. But it might also be nice to avoid NMA’s cost increases on the back bar, so I could go either way on which one is front-barred.

Skills:

Front Bar:

Biting Jabs
Critical Rush
Rally
Camouflaged Hunter
Binding Javelin OR Turn Evil
Onslaught OR Crescent Sweep OR Dawnbreaker of Smiting

Back Bar:

Restoring Focus
Extended Ritual
Resolving Vigor
Quick Cloak
Repentance OR Power of the Light
Remembrance OR Reviving Barrier OR Temporal Guard OR Solar Prison

Concept:

The idea is basically that this should strike a good balance between damage, tankiness, sustain, mobility, and team utility.

NMA + Stamplar should naturally be quite a lot of damage. You’re looking at about 4600 weapon damage permanently in no-CP, along with 26-27k stamina, and between Critical Rush and Jabs, I believe the minor berserk from Camo Hunter should be up a ton. There are glass cannon builds with more damage, of course, but this should still be a lot.

Meanwhile, this build should be very tanky. With Bloodspawn triggered, it should have just over 27k spell resistance and just over 24k physical resistance, in no-CP. But the biggest thing would be the various sources of damage reduction. You’d get minor protection from Jabs, major protection from Quick Cloak and Remembrance, major evasion from Quick Cloak, and I believe Jabs will proc minor maim essentially constantly on everyone near you because of the Knightmare set. If all of those damage reductions are up at once, you’re looking at 59% additional damage reduction of AOE damage and 45% damage reduction for everything else. And that’s on top of 27k and 24k resistances. Meanwhile, Vigor, Rally, Extended Ritual, and Repentance should be a decent bit of healing.

The sustain should be good too, even despite the NMA cost increase. With Bloodspawn, the buffed up no-CP Stam recovery should be over 2,400 (even higher if I kept this character as a Vampire), and I’ve got Restoring Focus and will be using tri-stat potion. Repentance would provide even more sustain if I used it.

The mobility should be good. I’d have access to major expedition, an additional 10% extra movement speed after roll dodging, and a gap closer.

The team utility should also be good. Extended Ritual by itself is great team utility and healing, but also Knightmare will put minor maim on tons of people in BGs, which would be a big help to the entire team. If I used Repentance, there’d be some situational additional team healing, while if I used PotL instead then I’d be providing minor fracture/breach and minor sorcery. Unless I went for Temporal Guard, the back bar ultimate would also either be a fight reset for teammates or provide a powerful damage synergy and major maim.

Questions:

1. Is about 26-27k or so stamina too low?

I’m not super experienced with stamina builds, and magicka builds tend to have higher max magicka than stamina builds have stamina, so it’s hard to really compare. Obviously, the stamina would be higher in CP, but in no-CP it’d be 26-27k. Is that too low, even with over 2,400 stamina recovery, Restoring Focus, tri-stat potions, and possibly Repentance?

2. How do Stamplar players feel about Executioner?

I know Executioner is very strong. I die to it enough to know that. But it’s hard to find bar space for it, and I know that on a Magplar, I actually don’t really feel the need to have an execute, because Sweeps finishes people off just fine—at least in no-CP. And the only times on a Magplar I kind of wish I was running an execute is when people start dodge rolling constantly—because Jesus Beam can actually finish them—but Executioner is dodgeable. By analogy, it seems like I wouldn’t necessarily feel like I needed an execute on a Stamplar either, particularly as I’d also potentially have Onslaught to break down tanky people.

3. Would Selene’s work well on a Stamplar?

One other option is to scrap the defensive monster set, and run an offensive one. Grothdarr would be a decent option, but I am intrigued by Selene’s. I’ve never used it, but my understanding is that it procs on Jabs (and if so, then Jabs would proc it very quickly). Personally, I don’t really get hit by Selene’s that much, but I’m wondering if it maybe works well in conjunction with the snare on Jabs.

Nightblades and "Clunkiness" in PvP.

$
0
0
The Nightblade as a whole is probably the clunkiest class in ESO right now. But why is that?
With this post I hope to showcase why the class "feels" so clunky.

I also made a post focusing more on Magicka Nightblades, and why its so frustrating to play one.:
https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/519870/playing-a-magblade-is-nothing-but-frustrating/p1

Part 1: Stamina/Melee Range

First lets talk about Stamina Nightblades and melee range inconsistency.

w3YHSgq.png

The whole inconsistency means that if your medium or heavy 2H attacks hits, your spammable (Surpirse Attack) wont, which makes the combat feel clunky and you end up with the "cursed" TARGET OUT OF RANGE message.

We can clearly see that NBs melee skills dont follow the regular "skill guidelines". (AoE-8m, Spammable-7m+, Execute-5m,)
Most of the other melee spammables seem to be 7m or up.

Flurry - 7m
Uppercut - 7m
Puncturing Strikes - 8m

That puts the Stamina Nightblade in an disadvantage, it might happen that you get hit from a 7m range but your Surprise Attack (SA) wont hit the enemy. Another issue with SA is that if the enemy is faster than you, be it via the Swift jewelry-trait, a skill, or set; the chances of you hitting the enemy becomes lower especially with how laggy PvP is. Same issue arise when snared.
For example: you get snared by Jabs which is a 8m range spammable, that means the enemy can just back up while spamming Jabs and you wont be able to hit him due to the range disparity.

The only other spammable with a 5m range that comes to mind is Lava Whip used by Magicka Dragonknights(Apparently DKs have a passive which ads 2m to this skill making it 7m), however that only works because Mag DKs usually stun-lock the enemy and ensure that the enemy is immobilized and cant move around. Stamina NBs dont have that.

To fix this issue the dev team could:
a) improve the range of SA (at least 7m)
b) give NBs a good Snare skill/passive
c) give NB a good Minor/Major Expedition skill/passive

Same goes for Mass Hysteria, why is it 6m when almost every other AoE is 8m? Especially if we look at how "bare" the skill is.
As well as the Relentless Focus projectile, why is it 30m? Its a melee/stamina morph. Reduce the range and remove/reduce the travel time.

Too many Nightblade melee skills have different ranges which ends up being inconsistent and doesnt synergize well with other abilities/Medium/Heavy-attacks which in return makes the class feel clunky.

Same can be said about Magicka Nightblades.

Part 2: Magicka/Single Target

Single Target, Roll Dodge and Lag.

All of the offensive damage abilities are single target, except for 3: Drain Power, Twisting Path and Soul Tether.
This means you can hard counter (100% mitigate) almost all of the damage abilties the class has to offer by simply roll dodging. Something literally every class has access to.

This is an issue for both, Stamina and Magicka Nightblades. However Magicka Nightblades are hit harder by this due to travel time of projectiles and general lag.

Generally speaking nothing hits. Its frustating when an enemy is literally standing still on your screen but somehow "dodge" appears above their head.

bcaEgTi.png

You can clearly see that the guy Im fighting is standing still, so why am I getting "dodged"?

Thats because of the travel-time projectiles have, combined with PvP lag. Its especially worse on a magblade because every attack (except sap essence) can be hard countered/100% mitigated by just roll dodging. Thats not fun, its frustrating watching a guy with 5% HP just spam roll dodge and self heals and get back up to 100% HP.

Projectile speed

Now lets have a look at "Swallow Soul" - the main spammable of a magblade and compare it to "Concealed Weapon"- a melee spammable which also costs magicka and therefore used my some melee magblades.

Swallow Soul
RightQuerulousBlueshark-size_restricted.gif

Concealed Weapon
ThoroughSpecificAldabratortoise-size_restricted.gif

If we look at both we can clearly see that "Swallow Soul" (compared to "Concealed Weapon") hits with a delay, add PvP lag into the calculation and the chances of "Swallow Soul" hitting someone becomes very small. Which again is nothing else but frustrating.

First fix should be to increase the speed of projectiles and remove cast times/long travel times. However the class would still be in dire need of a way to put pressure besides single target abilities. Theres nothing you can do once someone starts roll dodge spamming or blocking and healing.

A cool way to counter constant roll dodging, blocking and running would be to put a new Minor/Major Debuff on Mark Target and its morphs. This new debuff would increase the cost and duration of Roll Dodge/Block/Break Free and Sprinting, you would "Mark" the enemy with "Exhaustion" so to speak.

Part 3: Cloak/Defense

Shadow Cloak.

Cloak as a defense tool is decent at best, and that only WHEN it works. However this is a huge "when", right now (Harrowstorm) Cloak is bugged/messed up and you can be hit in cloak with single target abilities without the enemy having to use Detection Pots.

UnhappyUnawareGar-size_restricted.gif

Even without it being bugged, Cloak/Shadowy Disguise feels underwhelming.
Im going to list every skill from NBs and Dragonknights class trees which breaks cloak, the only defense skill the NB has.

- Piercing Mark
- Veil of Blades
- Twisting Path
- Mass hysteria
- Manifestation of Terror
- Soul Tether
- Drain Power
- Dragonknight Standard
- Shifting Standard
- Standard of Might
- Fiery Breath
- Noxious Breath
- Engulfing Flames
- Voltaile Armor
- Dark talon
- Burning Talons
- Choking Talons
- Inhale
- Deep Breath
- Draw Essence
- Petrify
- Fossilize
- Shattering Rocks

Thats 23 skills that break cloak. And I only did list the skills from 2 class trees. + there are other skill trees as well. Initally I wanted to list all skills that break cloak but I got bored after only doing NBs and DKs. And it doesnt stop there. We also have Detection Pots which lets the user see you if youre within a 20m radius. But thats still not all, there are also Sets like Overwhelming Surge which also pull you out of cloak.

I dont think there is a defensive skill in ESO that has the same amount of counters as Shadowy Disguise/Shadow Cloak. Its insane.

The other morph "Dark Cloak" is not much better. It heals 6% of max health every second for 8seconds. Thats bad. Even on a PvE NB tank. If we assume a DPS Nightblade has 25k HP in Cyrodiil thats 750 HP every second, not enough to warrant to be used in PvP or PvE.

In my opinion letting it crit every HoT/DoT again while cloaked would help the class gain a "burst heal" and pressure with DoTs which its in dire need of. Another option would be to let it ignore any incoming damage for a second and not break out of cloak to make an escape possible against AoE spammers like Jabs or Whirl Wind.

Hopes for the future.

I hope this helps the dev team to understand why NBs are so clunky (aside from balance changes). Its probably the least fun and worst class to play with in PvP due to being too clunky and underperfoming defense and offense wise.

Im going to put a TL:DR here for the lazy people:

How do you setup your Magcro for endgame PvE ?

I am trying not to have more than %50 crit or %60 if i use reanimate instead of colossus double bar. Also do you use Lightning staff front bar or fire staff ? Because magcro has lots of aoe and i heard lightning staff actually deals more damage even on single target combined with magcro.

Gear combinations i like so far - FG+ES(elemental succession)+(zaan,illambris,kjalnar - depending on situation), Siroria+SS, Siroria+ES, FG+MS(just for AOE),

The real reason group queuing should be allowed for Battlegrounds.

$

So yeah, I was upset when they removed the ability for my friends and I to queue up for battlegrounds, since then we've discovered the "real" problem that needs to be addressed ASAP, specifically before the release of Greymoor.

So with Greymoor coming out combined with the covid19 pandemic ESO has seen a massive influx of new and returning players, however us NEW/returning players have run into a problem, which is... the Non-CP PvP content is non-existent. Prior to the change my friends and I just queued up for battlegrounds (which was fun and sufficient), now we have a choice, either go up against people who have 810+ CP or go roam around a completely empty "Non-CP Cyrodiil / Non-CP Imperial City", both of which have very little attendance if at all.

So what do new/returning players do who don't have 810+ CP?? The answer is dueling? nope, can't do that, CP works in duels, battlegrounds?? Nope can't do that, group queuing is not allowed...

So yeah, please consider re-adding some sort of group queue feature to battlegrounds by the launch of your Greymoor expansion otherwise my friends and I are just going to quit, we aren't going to farm 810+ CP to just play PvP together, it's not a realistic expectation of a newer/returning player.

So if you're sitting there with 810+ CP you're probably not worried about any of this, I get it, but do you want new players in your game? Do you want the game to continue to grow and increase? If not then do exactly what you are doing, just continue to ignore these types of changes and posts. However, if you do want these new players to keep playing and you do want the game to grow etc, I highly recommend speaking up and helping change the game in a positive way so newer players have content to do.

tldr; newer players like my friend and I, are not any where near level CP810, the Non-CP Cyrodiil/Imperial City are absolute ghost towns, those are not viable options for us.

Awful ping + lag spikes

Ever since I resubbed a week ago, I've had far worse than usual ping and pretty bad lag spikes. Whereas I am able to get 30ish ms in every other online game I play, I am stuck with 110 at lowest here. This was irritating enough before the other day when I started very frequently getting spikes of 999+,regardless of the time of day or what I'm doing in game. I checked other games again to make sure my network wasn't unstable, and they were still fine so it's definitely just ESO. What gives?

Hey people,

Was wondering if anyone knew of a fix or had a situation like myself.

Whenever Im in a high combat area (mainly pvp) Eso seems to crash and take my wifi connection with it

(before anyone says I cannot line the internet to my PC as I live in a shared house) Been happening since the game size got smaller.

Any ideas? :(

Traveling to player houses causes infinite loading...

$
0
0
When I try to travel to a player house, rather than loading the character into the house, it causes the game client to enter an infinite, never-ending loading screen and never loads the character, not even after up to 15 minutes of patiently waiting.

I have tried this with multiple characters, both with addons loaded and without any addons loaded. I have tried multiple of my own houses, as well as other players' houses.

It is not 100% of the time, but more like 75%-90% of the time.

Since this has not been reported by others (as far as I could find), it apparently isn't a widespread issue and suggests it is a problem with my client.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how I can fix this? I could uninstall the PTS and reinstall it, which might work, but I'd rather not have to do that if I can avoid it.

Thanks.

Magsorc can’t use Streak - What can replace it?

Hey guys,

I’m in Australia and my latency at the best of times is still not terrific. As shown in the video, that’s what Streak is like for me, virtually unusable in PvP. For some reason I don’t really lag in the game, even though so people complain about it I don’t cop it that bad except when using Streak, which sucks because it’s such a mandatory skill for any Magsorc.

I’m wondering what I can use to replace it, the skill that stands out for me is Mistform or maybe Rune Cage so I at least have something to disable my opponents with.

Any advice is appreciated.

Skill description:
Launch a vine to swing yourself to an ally, healing you and them for 2343 Health over 10 seconds. Gain 3 Ultimate when each of these effects complete if you are in combat. This ability scales with your highest offensive stats.

This skill went from the strongest 2vx Skill in the game to an almost completly useless skill.
Its extremly unreliable! Every object, every pet, every elevation breaks the line of sight and interupts the gapcloser. Not only that, the high cost of 4050 magicka get completly wasted when attempting to gapclose. The duration is only 10 s, so you need to reapply that and will fail again, waste more then one global cooldown and 4050 magicka per attempt. The heal of it was really strong but with the standardization of skills its just not worth it anymore. Its just another example of overnerfing.

In summary
  • cost is way to high
  • healing got overnerfed (-33%)
  • gapcloser is not functioning in almost any szenario
  • if it fails you loose all the magicka cost and 1-2 global cooldowns

[Help] Magicka Nightblade build viability

$
0

Hello everyone,

I recently came back to the game and I chose to play something i always wanted back in 2018, which is the Magblade.
The issue that i find myself in is that i wish to play a melee variant. I must admit, most of the reasons involved in this are of aesthetic in nature. I just think the dual wielding phantom-ish assassin is the way to be for this class.
Currently I'm just lvl 45 and i have been lvling through pvp alone. Sometimes i have huge success, and sometimes i cannot make a dent in anyone. I have a mix of wizard's riposte and kingslayer sets with around 2300 spell dmg, 2200 mag recovery and 35k magicka. I'm geared pretty well i suppose.
I do not really struggle with magicka regen because i use the pvp pots for mag regen as well.
Obviously, i use the melee spammable and overall it is a legit experience. The issue is that every high level pro magblade i see on youtube has destro/resto setup.
I want to know if there is any way that melee magblade is viable at max level and if there is anything that i can do to take the build to the max.
Any reasoning for another, more viable build is appreciated as well.
Thank you in advance.
