Character just for crafting, do I need skill points?
So I want a character dedicated to crafting only. And I want to do it all, carpentry, blacksmithing, etc. Do I still have to have skill points to level her crafting to max? Am I forced to adventure with her as well? Can I get by without SP? I respec'd her a while back , she's level 14, and put every point into crafting lines. She has zero abilities atm. zero armor, zero weapons. I think I messed up though, because I'm thinking I need sp too? I'm confused and think I've messed her up. Any help appreciated.

Honesty?
"Hi everyone,
We discovered an issue once we opened the PC NA/EU megaservers after Update 26 maintenance, and have locked the servers to investigate. We'll let you know when we have an ETA for re-opening. Thanks for your patience."
Why can't you as in Zenimax Media try to be honest and forthcoming for once. You discovered an "issue"... What issue? Just tell us what the problem is*, that would at least make me less annoyed with your mistakes.
*=I did find out the problem from browsing the forum, but that shouldn't be necessary. Hey maybe the rumor of Skyrim accessible for all is just one of the problems with this update.

Looking to be a better healer
I thought while the server is down and I still need to download the update, I can use this opportunity to seek help on my healer build.
I got a lot of great advice on gear set up and stuff on this other thread I made, but I was hoping to get into some of the skills and champion point questions.
https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/528121/which-set-should-i-use-necro-healer/p1
So here is my current set up.
I've got Spell Power Cure and Hollowfang sets.
I have the Symphony of Blades shoulders and will be soon trying to get the helm.
For my champion points I currently still have the 300CP build from this Alcast healer build
https://alcasthq.com/eso-necromancer-healer-build-pve/
But I have about 360CP so I've put the extra points in some of the DPS options from the 300CP build of the magicka damage dealer build.
For my skills my front bar is a resto staff.
Combat Prayer, Radiating Regen, Resistant Flesh, Braided Tether, Spirit Mender - ultimate "Renewing Animation"
My back bar is lightning staff.
Elemental Blockade, Unnerving Boneyard, Elemental Drain, Mystic Orb, Summoner Armor - ultimate "Glacial Colossus"
For my rotation:
I start with Combat prayer and try to keep that down as much as possible.
Then Elemental Blockade and Unnerving Boneyard. Get my spirit mender up.
I use combat prayer a lot, and Radiating Regen when I see people dipping down, and Resistant Flesh when people have lost a lot of health and I need to get them up quicker.
I try to keep Combat prayer down, keep elemental blockade and unnerving boneyard down, keep spirit mender up, keep elemental drain on boss, keep summoner armor up
When I can I use mystic orb and braided tether. I try to weave in light attacks but to be honest I am finding this a struggle.
So, here are the issues I am having with this.
1. I am finding it hard to keep all this stuff up. I am struggling to tell when stuff goes down. So stuff often slips. Boneyard and Elemental blockade are the easiest to keep up because I can see them really well. But I'll not notice my spirit mender is gone, or that Elemental Drain fell off. I am really struggling to keep track of all these things. The build seems to be entirely keeping 7 skills active as much as possible. Am I doing this right? Is there an easier way? Should I get rid of some of these?
2. I don't think I am doing much to contribute to DPS. I feel like Combat Prayer, Elemental Drain, and Mystic Orb are the important ones because those improve my ally's DPS. And boosting their DPS is likely more DPS then I am able to do myself. So my own DPS (Boneyard, Elemental Blockade, and light/heavy attacks) take a back seat to the other three and of course to healing. Am I doing enough? Are there things I need to do to boost my DPS better? I also try to keep Elemental Blockade down more than Boneyard because of the off balance.
3. For heavy attacks I mostly just do those when I need to regain magicka. But I struggle to weave in the light attacks. Is there any advice or good videos on doing this effectively? Admittedly I probably don't do this near enough, or near as well as I should.
4. How often should I be needing to use a lot of healing? How much of the time should my combat prayer and spirit mender and passives be working to keep them topped up and good, versus how much time I need to be focused on healing with radiating regen and/or resistant flesh?
5. And just in general, is there things you would change/fix/remove/add?
Thanks so much for all of your help. I am really enjoying healing, and I really want to do it well.

Need advice from regular crate gamblers
Okay.. so a dumb story. I like using game microtransactions as little mini rewards for keeping the chain going on new habits in real life. The game and company that previously benefited from this turned south, and with my new found love of eso, decided to do the unimagineable and bought 4 gambling crates.
It turned out a very interesting experience... opening them up i was so dismayed by what i got.. both the gem count (i only did this because i wanted the hackysack emote from the gloomspore crates, and figured id get the gems by doing it.. but its only 3 gems per crate.. no way im paying that much for an emote). Anyway.. it was completely woeful... until the very last card of the 4th crate. It turned out to be a mount from the one less than apex (legendary?) and it also was the same kind as i always use. My jaw dropped and i was so happy.
So.. before i do this again, i have no doubt there's a very elaborate gambling engine that drives the drops, same as with loot etc, to make it do exactly what some psychologist probably states is the best way to get people to do it again. My question for the regular gamblers would be.. how does this engine work? Was what happened to me actually chance? Does it make sure that you always get something good out of a set of crates? Do the good times last a bit longer before they give you nothing once they believe you're addicted so you just get more thinking about the last good thing you got?
If its dumb and they make sure they look after you after every set, i'll probably get more.. but if its any worse than that as far as gambling algorithim goes, i'll just set it aside for more months of eso plus or find something else.
Thanks for any tips.

So they finally nerfed Sorcerer
PvP: Malacath's Band of Brutality will be used by every class except for Sorcerers since it conflicts with Critical Surge.
PvE: Blood for Blood will be the main Magicka spammable except for Sorcerers since it doesn't proc Crystal Fragments.
I don't know if pets benefitting from Bloodthirsty will help enough

Ganknstein's Lab - The Super Shredder - NMA + Leviathan
Recently tested out another set up for my NB. I call this one The Super Shredder because while playing and using toxic barrage if someone didn't dodge roll or block the entire time it shredded their health away. Im still underway but managed to grab a hotel for a couple of night while in Port so I was playing on hotel wifi. I swapped out PI for silver shards but will probably switch back since the dot from PI can crit and that may be more useful.
The set up:
5 Leviathan
5 NMA
1 krag, 1 Vel
All medium - mostly divines (all if possible)
Nirnhoned bow, double dot poisons
May have used shock glyph in some clips
Khajit, tri-stat food, lover mundus
I wanted to maintain a high amount of penetration.

I HAVE RETURNED. Thoughts on Blood Scion wings + my absence.
And to absolutely no one's surprise, I find the dev's response to why we as Blood Scions don't have wings to be quite dumb [snip]
Now onto why I dislike the reasoning:
It is one thing to say blood scions are not vampire lords, yet it is another to purposely DESIGN blood scions to look like vampire lords and constantly tease that we'd be looking as cool as the vampire lords in game. (During the reveal live stream one of the dudes literally pointed at the vamp lord statue and said we'd be turning into one of those, literally until last week we had NO promotional material that showed the real blood scion player form, etc.) For the record, I am all for them making blood scion its own UNIQUE and special-looking thing. But with that said, if they're going that route, then it should look different and unique.
As it stands it just looks like a vampire lord literally with no wings. That is it. That is the only main difference appearance wise. Very bizarre design choice to preach about it being totally different from a vampire lord, yet in reality if you compare the base model to the vamp lord model they look almost identical, just without wings. Considering the quest text for the vampire tutorial still specifically calls you a vampire lord, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that sometime in development players *were* actually going to be able to come vampire lords, but changed it to blood scions because it would save time and money. Would also explain the lackluster re-used/basic effects of the ultimate. Also the reason for this one specific line of quest text existing also HIGHLY contradicts their reasoning for removing the 'wings' in the first place.
On stream they mentioned the animation designers thought wings would look cool, but were told by the lore team to remove them because we aren't vampire lords. This leads me to believe the lore team must not read their own quest-text, then. Because surely they would of had that part edited out, right? Blatantly calling us vampire lords....
Either way yeah, happy to have a response from them, but it isn't a good response and it doesn't make too much sense. This is like saying a shark can't have fins because it isn't a great white. Or a bird can't have wings because it isn't a bald eagle. They could of easily just made them flightless wings that were there for aesthetic purposes only.... Very much feels like just a thing they decided on just so they wouldn't have to do much more work with the model and could then just re-use/make basic ultimate effects. No need to make the 'vamp lord' form feel wicked and sick if they can just market it off as some lesser transformation.
My Absence
[snip]
Once I discovered how the skill used to be, it might be easy to guess what my thoughts were. For those that don't know, in pre-pts the animation for vampiric drain was cooler (subjective, but I really liked it. Fit better.), but objectively the skill was an actual skill. Did around 2-3 times more damage than the current live vampiric drain and healed for 60% of missing health every tick. Also the drain-vigor morph was brain drain and restored a good chunk of missing magicka during the cast instead of stamina. It was basically a long-range damage heal alternative to Eviscerate from my understanding. Didn't deal as much damage as eviscerate, but considering it did way more damage than on live, I could see spending the time to channel it now being worth the effort.
After this post I will not be making anymore vampire rework threads unless something about them is touched upon in the future, I gave it my best shot during the testing period and failed, so that's that.
In case the bit I did mention about my recent absence gets me in more trouble and I'm left not being able to speak on here again, I was wanting to thank @Sephyr @Thevampirenight @TX12001rwb17_ESO @ShadowHvo @Vevvev @Lord-Otto @Cameron991 for the many discussions we've had and even though I've disagreed with some of you on some things, at the end of the day we're all just big passionate fans of vampires in ESO. There was probably a few more of you that I spoke with a lot, but I think I got the majority of them. Apologies if I left you out.
We can only hope some changes will happen in the future, regardless of how long that might be. I have a feeling the people that designed this rework are in for a rude awakening when it releases and many people become disappointed. But who knows, maybe everyone will love it and we will of turned out to be the fools instead. But as it stands, whoever designed this rework, from my personal perspective has failed the people that wanted vampire to be an actual play style. Without melee magicka weapons, I don't think people understand how much being forced to take eviscerate as your spammable without a gapcloser or any other real damaging abilities if you want to play as a full vampire absolutely sucks. (I play a necromancer, even with class abilities I will have no way to stay on top of an enemy to melee them to death in PvP.) Kind of ironic that even though they reworked the entire skill, we still ended up with with only 1 ability that has good damage. Also nerfing the vampiric ability cost reduction was also quite rough, should of left it at 40% as that is the only stat-related buff the stages give you.
Anyways, that's only one of my many complaints with the skill line, but I'll end it here. If I don't, I'll go on about it for way more than a few paragraphs. Bizarre design choices all around and to the balance guy who said on the live stream all smugly 'Yeah Im the guy that nerfed your favorite class' and explained in an equally smug tone to Gina that vamps don't rejen HP at stage 4, frick you. That whole interaction and live stream was rough to witness.

I have a huge respect for tanks now
Where to start..
An MMO game is no longer a new concept, it's been around for years so you would think that most player by now know the basic foundations in mmo games, right? WRONG.
I used to main a healer a few years back but I couldnt take the pug-runs with such low dps, draging out time. So I made a dps myself and never looked back.
But I wanted to level a few more characters, and thougt I'll tank again (also mained tanks in other mmos). Now the nightmare begins, even in normal random dungeons dps is extremly low, people using ice staffs stealing aggro, normal dlc dungeons with a pug feel like the special olympics. This isn't fun at all. Can't be fun for the healer and can't be fun for the dps.
I don't get it, how can it be so hard to grasp simple rotation or the holy trinity of tank, healer and dps.
How do you tanks out there manage to keep your temper?
AND yes I know "don't pug then bla bla" but I'll say this there isn' t fewer tanks in this game because it's boring to tank there are however fewer tanks because pug-finder usually puts you in The special mmo olympics.
And I do try to help, explain mechanics, but it feels like talking to a wall sometimes.
I don't know how to solve this, I guess I needed to vent my frustration.

Vampire Lord 5pc Bonus?
There is a degree of uncertainty in the item set's description for Vampire Lord, does the 5pc set bonus replace the Vampire's feed chart? Or are they an additive?
I did not have enough time to test the differences, and in some instances would have required another person. For instance, does the vampire receive 6% more Fire damage or 26% more fire damage (@Stage4)

Unpopular Opinion: Killable Guards
Elder Scrolls Online is one of the few mmos out there where guards are not killable.
This would be fine if you couldn't accidentally steal items, or be a Necromancer and use abilities.
Guards should be killable. Sure, they don't need to be an easy encounter, but sure enough you should be able to put up a fight and fight them.
One problem:
Adding Necromancer for example and forcing them to get a bounty for using skills is not that great since Guards just walk up and wack you and usually instantly kill you
Great Examples of Guards:
Look at games like World of Warcraft. Guards dismount, root, slow, and stun you. You can kill them, but if you fight 10+ you usually start to go down.
In Comparison:
In Summary:
Make guards killable, tune them to be like a mini boss fight, something you really should run away from, but can fight if you really want to.
I've seen a guard get zerged down by 15 players, get to 0% hp, do a mass AOE hit them all for 90k and instantly kill all 15 players... Why is this a thing?
Our thieving system would be cool, but it feels more punishing than anything else with unkillable god-mode guards.

We don't need to make it so 10+ to kill you, but we can at least make Guards have more utility and fit into the city? For example, why don't guards give you directions to things, why don't guards answer questions, why aren't the intractable unless they want to kill you?

Thoughts on BRP dual wield
I'm gonna make this post short, but discussion is encouraged. So they've changed it this last round of PTS so that it still procs while you're off the bar that it's on. I really like this change, as it makes it consistent with all the other special weapon sets in the game. However, I did notice in the notes that ZOS was worried about the sheer power that this set could bring to certain builds, especially in PvP. This is understandable as stacking major evasion with a 10% damage mitigation is quite powerful, ignoring the fact that it also gives you 10% more damage done. This basically makes running 2-piece potentates on the back bar an almost dead option. Along with this, I don't see how it makes sense to have a dual wield set that makes you tankier. The dual wield and 2h skill lines are designed to be offensive skill lines to utilize on high damage builds. So I have a suggestion to compensate for this. Instead of reverting the set back to only being able to proc while you are on the BRP bar, take the 10% damage mitigation off and leave it as a purely offensive set. If this still doesn't cut it, add a "kiss-curse" effect as they like to call it. Make it so that you can do 10% more damage, but you also take 10% more damage. This feature, combined with the fact that you have to stay on the offensive, will make it a lot harder to use in PvP, while also making it super rewarding to use if you're able to pull it off.

So... can we please get a Vampire Lord form?
So... can we please get a Vampire Lord form?
I don't know if it's just me, but I've never been so disappointed with the blood scion.
I think many would have wanted levitate and wings.
The new form is really uninspiring.
Please add the option to alter the morph on scion to look like a Vampire Lord.

Where The Housing Community At?
I play on PC/NA and run a small social/housing guild called Jewel Of The Desert (see guild forums or in-game).
I'm looking for players interested in crafting and sharing/trading furniture, visiting each other's houses, and possibly some light RP.
If anyone is in a housing guild that would be interested in running housing events with us, or anything like this, please let me know.
