[Faction Lock] Seriously what are you waiting for

Why are you making people wait til the update, it doesn't make any sense. Obviously it is a simple patch to add/remove camps ex. MyM. Now we gotta wait 13 more days(well since the 30 days are in the middle of a new camp it is gonna be longer than 13 days) I have friends you know, I'd like to be able to play with them on all my characters in non-cp( most of my old friends are on ep and so is my favorite character, and my newer friends are on ad) I waited more than half a year for this bad decision to go away. Just patch it, you already know it was a mistake in the first place just remove it already.

oh and btw why aren't the horse animations fixed, it has been two+ years...

Black Vine Villa for a true altmer

I always wanted to have a house somewhere out of town. Quite place, nice little garden, near water. And since I play almer (and love this race) I wanted to have almer house. Which was quite a challenge with the shortage of good houses in high elf style. Especially with gardens and out of town. Anyway, I decided to modify Black Vine Villa, which I actually never liked because of awful interior. Man, my room is bigger than the whole house, and it's cheaper!

So I modified the house by adding 2nd floor to it. My goal was to create house where one could actually live in comfort - like true almer should.

So here we have nice garden with apple trees, BBQ zone, a little shrine for someone close to my character. Inside we have a kitchen, an alcochemistry table (yep, here my altmer crafts non-lethal poisons), resting area, bathroom with everything your body needs. Then we have a cabinet, a trophy room and a bedroom. Oh, and don't mind all the skulls and bones - it's necromancer house after all!

Absolutely no special effects used. I only used Essential housing tools to align blocks to create stair and floor.

Kyne's Aegis Mechanics Guide

$

Introduction – What this guide is—and isn't.

The goal here is to lay out the key mechanics found in Kyne's Aegis. While I may touch a little on strategies and tactics and offer some recommendations, that is not the goal of this guide. This is not a "What should I do?" guide, but rather a "What is going on?" guide.

Base Population – Non-boss enemies (a.k.a., "Trash")

Half-Giant Bulwark
  • Shield Bash: The Bulwark's heavy attack has a conal cleave. Bulwarks should be turned away from the group.
    • Cleave Range: 8 meters
  • Armor Guard: The Bulwark will surround itself with an effect which appears as a yellow circle. This effect protects all other enemies inside from damage, and it reduces the movement speed of players inside. Bulwarks cannot be protected by their own Armor Guard (though they can be protected by the Armor Guard of other Bulwarks).
    • Effect Radius: 8 meters
  • Reel In: The Bulwark will target a player at random and chain them to the Bulwark.
    • Every time a Bulwark casts this ability, it will interrupt every other enemy unit within a 20m radius of the Bulwark. This can cause unexpected and "strange" behavior; for example, this could cause a Tidebreaker to suddenly cancel its Crashing Wave mid-animation and start casting a Wrath of Tides conal instead.

Half-Giant Raider
  • Exploding Spear: The raider will throw a spear at a random player.
    • The animation of the throw is very fast and lasts only 0.5 seconds. Once thrown, the spear will land after 2 seconds at the location of the targeted player at the moment the spear was launched. (Because the spear does not track its target for the 2 seconds that it is hovering in the air, it is possible for players to sidestep the spear before it lands.)
    • Upon landing, the spear creates a damaging ground AoE that resembles a Templar's Spear Shards, except orange instead of yellow. Because of its similarity to friendly Spear Shards and its lack of a hostile ground telegraph, it is relatively easy to unknowingly step into it.
    • If a player is within the AoE of the Exploding Spear at the moment of its landing, they will be stunned if they are not blocking.
    • Ground AoE Radius: 4 meters

Half-Giant Tidebreaker
  • Wrath of Tides: The Tidebreaker has a conal attack, where it swings its sword in an animation resembling a player's 2-handed Cleave ability. This attack lacks a hostile telegraph, and tanks should turn Tidebreakers away from group.
    • Cleave Range: 6 meters
  • Crashing Wave: The Tidebreaker's will plunge its sword into the ground, and when it pulls it out, it will unleash a wave that expands outward in a circle, similar to the Sea Lurchers' Tidal Wave ability in March of Sacrifices. However, unlike the ability in March of Sacrifices, which is accompanied by a clear hostile telegraph, no such telegraph exists here.
    • This ability can be blocked or dodged.
    • Effect Radius: 25 meters

Half-Giant Storm Caller
  • These enemies are stationary and are generally not particularly threatening.
  • Storm Call: Storm Callers will constantly call down lightning strikes on players.
  • Unstable Energy: Storm Callers are surrounded by an effect that damages players who come too close to it. The damage is inconsequential at first, but will steadily increase the longer a player remains close to a Storm Caller.
    • Effect Radius: 8 meters

Half-Giant Shaman
  • Focused Healing: This interruptible ability will heal other enemy units.
  • Conjure Totem: Shamans found outside boss encounters can conjure totems, similar to Yandir's totem conjuration.

Vampire Infuser
  • Infuse: Similar to the Infusers found in Blackrose Prison, the Infuse ability, if it is not interrupted, will empower all other enemies in the area.
    • Cast Time: 2 seconds

Crimson Knight
  • Bloodlust: The Crimson Knight will cast this ability on itself, which causes it to enlarge and empower. When empowered, its heavy attack (Cross Swipe) can kill a tank through block.

Bitter Knight
  • Sanguine Prison: The Bitter Knight will target a player at random with this ability. The player will be stunned and imprisoned within a bubble. Other players can attack and destroy this prison to free the victim. While imprisoned, a player is immune to damage. If a player is not freed from their prison before the prison expires, they will die to Exsanguination.
    • Sanguine Prison duration: 8 seconds

Blood Knight
  • Blood Fountains: The Blood Knight will twist and wave its arms for 3 seconds, after which it will unleash four "lines" of blood along the ground, along the Blood Knight's front, back, and sides.
    • These lines persist for 1.5 seconds.
    • Players standing on the lines will take damage every 0.25 seconds.
    • Every time a player takes a tick of Blood Fountain damage, they will gain a stack of a debuff that causes them to take additional damage from subsequent ticks.
    • The damage is blockable and shieldable, but it is not roll-dodgeable. Because of the rapid damage ramp, players must react to quickly step out of a line. Preemptively shielding can give players a little more time to react if they find themselves on the line. While blocking can mitigate the damage as well, the reduced movement speed from block may result in a player staying inside a line for too long.

does Rolis Epic envelope include all furnishing plans`?

Hi

I wonder if i can find all furnishing plans by buying envelopes from faustina and Rolis. I heard someone in chat mentioning that rolis epic envelope include from all the game. there is still a RNG factor, but all plans can be found by opening rolis. I already found all plans that drop from the envelopes that sell faustina.

is this true? Im still only 44 plans missing. and farming dwemer plans is getting really tiresome.

can someone please confirm me this info. at least i can give it a try with the envelopes. I mean i have saved 7000 vouchers for the new plans.

Godlike 1vX PvP equals broken game mechanics

I just have get this out of my chest... Sorry for any feelz i might hurt with it.

In my journey of learning to to play against players, study sets, watching youtube videos for several hours and playing in BG-s and Cyro for several hours i came to a conclusion. The PvP in ESO is broken, utterly un-enjoyable unless you do the same thing that certain players do that i seen in the videos. And before all of you reading me start smashing on the buttons of "git gud" "l2p" etc let me elaborate.

It is very simple. Build or copy a high mobility, high sustain, and high weapon damage build, you can easily do this, plenty out there. Run around objects to line of sight your opponents, since you can and thank the CC immunity, stealth, and insane amount of self heals, and constant roll dodge and the lack of their counters. pick couple of high damage skills and there you have it.

Just practice with it and you can be godlike too. Not because you are a good player, its because you exploit a broken PvP system in a game.

It is broken not because they exist in my opinion, it is utterly broken because the lack of counter to this recipe described above.

Yes learning to rotate your buffs, and learning the game, and have a tonn of experience plays a significant role in it. But after you have the learned these, and have the experience you become godlike because of the above mentioned broken PvP CC mechanics in the game.

There are good players in this game, but the game of PvP in this game is far from good.

And just a few things to get out of the way. I been playing games for 20 years. Seen a lot, did a lot. I can say that ESO have the most broken PvP system off the games I have had my hands on. If you don't follow the success recipe and play a certain way you are going to feed AP to the ones who follow the recipe.

This is my opinion and experience, you are free to have yours.

changing character background screen

Currently the background in character selection is tied to alliance, and frankly having all my characters in the Dominion has made that jungle background a little boring after so many years.

Could we get a way to change it? Maybe base it off the zone the character logged out in?

A reminder

A reminder that most of this was pushed through from home during this real life bs, and that we should all be a little thankful it was only a week delayed and that we have gotten as much as we have despite it all. Its not just you who have been home alone, try to show some respect and gratefulness, and a litte patience and give it a day or 2 to settle down. Take a walk or watch a movie, imagine fixing a server without proper access to equipment and staff during part of the process..

"Improving Communication"

Hey all,

We recognize that this was a sensitive topic during the PTS, as we did read all of your feedback. We should have offered you a more official answer on our stance, and we do apologize for failing to do so. That's on us.
Hi everyone. First of all, you aren't wrong. We agree we haven't been communicating as much as we should on this matter (among others) and for that, we apologize. There really is no excuse.
While we do have a backlog of improvements identified for the game, it’s clear we could do a better job of answering those kinds of inquiries, both for the player community and ourselves.

If a company was genuinely working to "improve communication", these types of statements should not continue to be the norm. @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

Why is Staff a 2h Weapon?

$

I am kinda curious why the staff is a 2h weapon.
You hold it in one hand, it has single hand animations, you can preview a staff and shield equipped, and it has base weapon damage that follows 1h progression and not 2h progression.
Also, i know that this isn't skyrim, but staves were 1h weapons in Skyrim too so there is reasonable precedent within the series (and yes I know that 2h staves also appear in the series).

I feel like this is a missed opportunity. Instead of making Frost Staves the Magicka tank weapon Zenimax could have done this:
1) Made 1h weapons with empty offhand have their own skill line (preferably a melee magicka/stamina "spellblade" style hybrid that scaled on the higher of your two resources... you know... the MOST advertised single weapon style in ESO marketing that for some reason isn't in the game)
2) Left Destro staff with empty offhand the same but reworked Frost into a DPS option
3) Made the tanking skill line dependent upon equipping a shield with either a staff or 1h melee weapon. Skills and passives could split slightly (similar to how Destro splits on staff types) but have the same utility (for example Puncture would do the same thing but would use either Stamina or Magicka based on equipped weapon and would do either Physical or Fire/Lightning/Frost damage)

This would give Magicka Tanks a fully fleshed out tanking tree to use while also allowing DPS frost mages to be a thing.

Gem turn in for the daily ESO+ rewards

$

This is one thing I really wish we had. There are a lot of potions, poisons, scrolls, and food that I get that I have little use for and it would be nice to be able to convert them to gems to open up the bag/bank space without having to destroy an orange item. It can be a minor amount of gems, even 1 gem for a stack of poison or an exp scroll would be enough that I would be happy to convert them.

Even the orange character bound items we get during leveling could potentially qualify, it is the opposite of P2W as we are taking in game items that affect character performance and converting them into gems for cosmetics. There are so many of those items in my inventory just taking up bag space and they are character bound so I cannot even bank them..

This would give ESO+ members access to some free gems without having to spend their ESO+ crowns on crates.

If anything once people get some gems stored up and get close to a gem purchase they want it would probably actually encourage some people to get a crate or 4 to get the remaining gems they need for an item once they get close to the amount they need.

Thoughts on BRP dual wield

$

I'm gonna make this post short, but discussion is encouraged. So they've changed it this last round of PTS so that it still procs while you're off the bar that it's on. I really like this change, as it makes it consistent with all the other special weapon sets in the game. However, I did notice in the notes that ZOS was worried about the sheer power that this set could bring to certain builds, especially in PvP. This is understandable as stacking major evasion with a 10% damage mitigation is quite powerful, ignoring the fact that it also gives you 10% more damage done. This basically makes running 2-piece potentates on the back bar an almost dead option. Along with this, I don't see how it makes sense to have a dual wield set that makes you tankier. The dual wield and 2h skill lines are designed to be offensive skill lines to utilize on high damage builds. So I have a suggestion to compensate for this. Instead of reverting the set back to only being able to proc while you are on the BRP bar, take the 10% damage mitigation off and leave it as a purely offensive set. If this still doesn't cut it, add a "kiss-curse" effect as they like to call it. Make it so that you can do 10% more damage, but you also take 10% more damage. This feature, combined with the fact that you have to stay on the offensive, will make it a lot harder to use in PvP, while also making it super rewarding to use if you're able to pull it off.

So... can we please get a Vampire Lord form?
I don't know if it's just me, but I've never been so disappointed with the blood scion.
I think many would have wanted levitate and wings.
The new form is really uninspiring.
Please add the option to alter the morph on scion to look like a Vampire Lord.

State of the Game concerning New Players

$
0
0
Dear ZOS and ESO Players,

I've spent the last 6 months or so helping new players understand the game mechanics and systems in addition to hearing their thoughts about the game and the environment. Below I will highlight some of the most critical concerns and suggest unbiased ideas on how to correct them. I hope ZOS looks into this for the future.

1. New Players struggle to understand all the concepts behind gear and normally just always aim for gear that is advertised in really popular build videos in addition to gear that is "required" by their groups or Guilds. My opinion is that if a new player does not run desirable sets deemed appropriate by the community they are most often kicked out of group content limiting build varieties and hybrid play styles; I do understand that there is content that has a DPS Wall players must overcome in order to be successful, however, even if a new player that is able to overcome that wall and just takes a little longer (with sufficient DPS) is also kicked out of the group leading to new players feeling discouraged and disliked by the community.

2. New Players find a lot of difficulty selling items in a guild store because of their steep membership prices. I think this is a critical issue because a few deep pocketed guilds monopolize the few places a guild could sell their items from . I'm not sure why ZOS has not incorporated some type of Global market to this date, and why they are so little slots for Guilds to set up Shop. ZOS is only enabling this monopolization. New Players often spend every last Gold piece because of this. There has to be a way that works with both interest; perhaps a Global store with higher selling fees and a way to make more slots available for smaller Guilds to be able to set up Shop reducing the competition and as an effect reducing Trader Guilds membership costs. This has to be addressed.

3. Earning gold outside of trading is really difficult (players should not be forced to steal). Its really bad the amount of gold that a player earns by killing monsters (needs re-balanced). The amount that gear is sold to NPCs should be significantly increased. Also the amount of Gold that is earned for Quests is really bad. I suggest for the sake of balance for bosses in Dungeons to drop a decent amount of gold, with higher amounts in VET and even higher in Trials (not necessarily the mobs). Stealing cannot be the only way to make decent Gold because we as a community must respect Role Players and some of them have certain rules regarding morality. Gear that you buy from other players is expensive (average of 20k gold a piece). This will also help discourage gold sellers.

4. UI should have a marking system (Specially for Console). This is really important in Vet content, even just one option to mark an enemy so the group could see would be great.

5. New Players are really confused about roles. There should be some type of in-game quest to teach some basic mechanics for Healers, Tanks, and DPS. This should be open ended like for example to explain Tanking mechanics and the benefits of Heavy armor and Taunt but not itemization.

I hope this brings light to some issues that are separate from itemization and skill balance. Please, I welcome constructive ideas that could work for the Majority of players. Stay safe everyone!
