Frost Staff

Does Frost Staff really need to be the dedicated tanking staff? I mean it is called a 'Destruction' Staff after all. Also, the heavy attack is very similar to the fire staff, whereas the Lightning Staff has a unique channel. I have an idea for the staff while still retaining function for tanking as an option but on all staves.

Frost Heavy Attack:

No longer lobs a massive snowball, instead it channels a cone of icy wind before releasing a frost nova in the same cone area. This is similar to Lightning staff but has limited range as a tradeoff for being a small AOE. About the same area as say Mesmerize in Vampire Skill line (7m).

General Destruction Staff changes:

Elemental Susceptibility changed to Elemental Mockery:

Send the elements to sap an enemy's defenses, afflicting them with Major Breach for 20 seconds, reducing their Spell Resistance by 5280.
Taunt the enemy for 20 seconds forcing them to attack you. While slotted, blocking costs Magicka instead of Stamina and the cost of blocking is reduced by 30% and increases the amount of damage you block by 20%.

*Basically removed tanking from passives and put into an ability which would allow any staff be a tanking option.

Tri-Focus:

Fully-charged Frost Heavy Attack freezes all enemies hit, stunning them for 3 seconds.

*Replaces tanking passives to make it feel more like how a Frost Staff would work.

Ancient Knowledge:

Frost Staff increases your Spell Critical by 8%.

*Staff version of how Dagger's work.


With these changes, Frost Staff viability as a damage option increases, while at the same time you open up the possibility that any staff can now tank as it is tied to a morph of one skill.

Example: Stinkhorn and Nirnroot can be combined to make a poison that "Deals 1266 Poison Damage per second for 5.5 seconds

My question is... does that extra 0.5 seconds do anything at all? Is it merely there as an artifact of some underlying calculator in the game? Poisons that have effect durations that are 3.9 seconds and 2.2 seconds seem plentiful, but it seems like the 3.9 second one has 30% extra that doesn't do anything while the 2.2 second duration has only 10% and the 6.5 second duration has only 1/12th "wasted."

I don't even know of anything in the game that ticks faster than 0.25 seconds (stamina loss when blocking).

Does anybody know if the remainder has any practical purpose or meaning?

Tomarrow Elder Scrolls Online is coming to Stadia, if you don't already know its a new streaming gaming service platform that streams gameplay to you. Kinda like Geforce another service like it that people were upset support and their ability to play on it was cut off and there is talk or belief that Google Stadia might not be as good. People might say its dead at arrival but there is a chance it could take off as a good game streaming service. Elder Scrolls Online didn't start out very good however it got a lot better over time and became a popular Mmorpg. So if Eso can do it then so can Google Stadia.

As a person with Terrible Fps this Stadia might be a boost to performance on my end so I might be getting a huge boost to Eso . Its not because the game is dying that is causing the bad performance for people its the opposite is happening that the game is actually very successful and because many are playing the game performance isn't as great because of that. Other reasons for the performance decline is because they moved calculations to the Server side that along with high number of players at one time causes the issues we have in game.

So gist of it the Performance is the victim of what they had to do to fix issues with cheating/bots and because of the success and large number of players that play Elder Scrolls Online as I mentioned. and I'm hoping they take more measures that actually work to help mitigate and fix performance and keep at it and not stopping with it and being proactive about it. Reason why I talked about performance a little bit on the side with this is to remind people that the game isn't dying.
But if your like me playing on a laptop that isn't even a gaming laptop this Stadia could be a big performance boost in terms of Fps and I mentioned this above. I'm am going to trying it to see if it improves my Fps its the reason why I'm going to give Stadia a shot and check it out. With the game going on a discount I'm hoping this applies to the Stadia version of Eso when it launches. I'm going to continue to use Steam for subscription and crowns and also addons and if addons don't work on the Stadia then I can at least play the two versions when I see fit. So its not like I'm fully moving to it.

Now I can get average 15 sometimes lower but in the double digits instead of the single digits like it use to be after doing tinkering that made the fps a little better for me but its not the best . Sometimes it can even get to 17 Fps and 25/27 or higher in certain areas like a inn room. The game is still layable for me however when the game is lag spiking or having latency issues that is what slows me down in Eso it could be that I'm just use to poorer Fps and have lived with it for so long. The Latency is the one thing I'm hoping isn't to bad with this service as that might mitgate the fps gains I get from it as that is what slows the game play down. Now Googles Internet speed test shows its averaging in 19/20/21 Mbs. Its good enough for High Definition but not 4k and I'm fine with not having 4k as my laptop isn't set up for it and plus all it does is make the quality a little better making it look fancier and I don't need it. My laptop being hd+ should give a very decent high looking quality definition.

Stadia has a minimum of 10 Mbs otherwise the streaming will be slower and not very good.

So a lot of us can agree that stamsorc is in a good place this patch... and so I've finally settled on using my stamsorc as my main for the foreseeable future.

I'm a Dark Elf, Warrior Mundus, Eternal Vigor and Warrior's Fury gear, 5 heavy 1 medium, Sugar Skulls food, Band of Malacath. 1pc Velidreth shoulder.

Eternal Vigor is amaaaazing. The Band of Malacath I'm not so sure about yet. In no CP my recoveries are like 1200, 1500, 1900. Sorcs have a lot of passives that really make Eternal Vigor good. Obviously, as I get transmute crystals, I'm starting to infuse some of the jewelry with weapon damage.

Right now, with some changes still yet to be made, I'm at like 3500 weapon damage. Which depending on my weapon glyph, continuous attack, and Fury, that miiiight get up to 4500 but probably more like 4k average.

It's really not feeling like enough. I'm using 2H and Bow right now. Nobody can really catch me. Nobody can really kill me. But I'm also struggling to catch and kill people-- which shouldn't be happening on a stamsorc.

Problem as I see it? I'm wearing heavy because I'm not using crit surge and am using the band of malacath so I don't want any crit. I'm a Dark Elf not an Orc or Wood Elf. I'm used to playing a stamDK which has greater range to melee attacks so when I'm standing roughly 7m away from an enemy that is in execute but my character just keeps pump faking I am raaather annoyed.

Solution as I see it? Give up on Malacath because not wearing a monster set is lame. And/or switch to medium armor.

Question: Even though it would be a waste of crit does the Band of Malacath work well on medium armor builds?
Question: If I use 1 Endurance Necklace, 1 Agility Ring, make my 2H weapon an Agility Maul or whatever... and make my Bow an Endurance bow... does that sound like a smart way to use a Mythic item AND a monster set? So then, depending on my bar, I'd have a 5 piece always active, a monster set always active, a mythic always active, and I'd have 1 strong 3 piece active on each bar. One for offense and one for defense (Endurance does health recovery right? Not bad defense for a heavy armor stamsorc who, on his bow bar, is roll dodging and streaking.

Honestly I'm going to play him the way he is for a couple of days to see what I can do when I get more comfortable with it. He feels VERY strong, just not the over powered killer I'm more used to playing as.

Tanky Stam Sorc Bonus Facts: So healing recently got nerfed, right? A problem we all have. And sorcs are always trying to get that Daedric Summoning skill on their bar for the amazing passives, right? Which, if you are not a tanky stamsorc, normally means using the Atronoch Ulti on one bar (even if you never cast it,) and running Bound Armaments on the other bar. I'VE GOT A SOLUTION. Use the clannfear pet. The one that scales with max stam stats. You have to double bar it-- but you were already halfway forced into double barring things anyway-- and the way it synergizes with your stam/health recovery is insaaane. Especially if you're also wearing Eternal Vigor. You can now run Dawnbreaker as an Ulti and backbar something a little more useful like Temporal Guard. You also get +5% HP so, needless to say, my HP is very high on this guy. Vigor, Rally, and Pet Heal are VERY strong. And with my magic recovery I can, within reason, streak dark deal and heal as much as I want.

Does anybody know if the clannfear heal scales off of weapon damage or max health? In no CP it has a tooltip of like 10k. Which seems high since my WD is a bit on the low side.

First, appreciate the bit of acknowledgement that you see issues and are working on them- at least in my case there are a large number of us who were getting quite close to the delete button after 6 years without knowing if the community was being heard or if there was any resources being directed to resolve the issues. Discussion last night in TS was lengthy but also brought up one very important fact I think needs to be communicated to the ZOS PvP team directly and I can think of no better way to do that other than here.

When the update/patch was released....Combat was snappy and amazing. In fact it was the best I have experienced in many years in game. But- you crashed out of the game every five min...on the upside you logged right back in to where you crashed and even that was fast. We laughed about that for a second and then realized maybe you don't know that. I mean everything about the game was amazing with regard to combat--- BUT you crashed out every five min. Not quite sure if that helps you focus efforts but somehow it seems if you know crashing was the single issue in game after patch and all other performance was amazing, you could more easily focus on that rather than chasing 1000 rabbits down holes.....and it was. I dont know if this helps you troubleshoot but wanted to be sure someone communicated to you how well all other aspects of the game were working during that time-- with the only problem being crashes. Frankly we all said the same thing---we would much rather have crashes where you are back in 1 min in same place and snappy, responsive gameplay than what it feels like now.

Harrowstorms and the Vestige [Spoilers]

How come the Vestige is immune to Harrowstorms while others have to use one of those medallions or an elixir? I don't remember this being explained anywhere.

Do they simply not affect people whose bodies are made up of Azure Plasm? (Presuming characters who have yet to start the base game main quest are canonically doing this afterwards).

Basically, when I try to scry, it will often attempt to exit me from the scry screen.... this results on the eye disappearing and blind scrying.... it’s a horrible bug that prevents finding dig sites

House Ravenwatch/Gray Host is reminiscent of the Order of the Raven/Nightmare Host in the 3rd Era.

There is something I was looking into and there is a connection here. I'm 100% convinced the Ravenwatch Vs Grayhost is actually a repeating cycle. A Duality between two Mindsets. Its a lot like the Camerillia vs Sabbat in Vampire the Masquerade the only difference is its more moralistic in nature. Good vs Evil.
In the Third Era after the events of Eso, The Order of the Raven helps stop the Camoran usurpers forces and help take out the Nightmare Host at Castle Wightmoor. The Nightmare Host are very closely reminiscent to the Gray Host in Greymoor so much so they have to be connected. The Order of the Raven is very reminiscent of the Ravenwatch found in Eso with a guy who a name that screams vampire. There is no way that is a coincidence. We know that Cycles are a big thing in Tes, they end up repeating themselves like like the destruction of the Orcish Strongholds and potentially the Destruction of Snowhawk/Karthswatch to the Greymarch in the Shivering Isles.

Why these two events in History have to be a form of duality between the Raven and the Host? Its because of the following down Below.
House Ravenwatch helps to Stop the Gray Host and a potential Reachman Plot.
Order of the Raven Helps stop the forces of the Nightmare host and a Plot by Camoran the Usurper.
Order of the Raven is Led by Othrok (The name screams vampire)
Graymoor Keep is reminiscent of Castle Wightmoor.

The Order of the Raven (also called the Knights of the Raven)[1]:100 is a knightly order found in the Barony of Dwynnen. They are a legendary order that fought behind Baron Othrok in his battle against the Camoran Usurper and the Nightmare Host that plagued the region in 3E 267.[2] Ever since then, their purpose is to protect the royal family of Dwynnen and the region. They have a high standard for recruits, as they only accept the greatest warriors that can remain loyal to the Barony.[3]

The order's earliest iteration was founded in the Third Era, under the command of the warrior, Othrok. In 3E 253, Haymon Camoran had taken control of Dwynnen and inflicted the Nightmare Host onto the region, where the people were ruled by a lich and his dark army of monsters. The Baron came from the wilderness, blessed by the gods and granted an army of warriors and animals to destroy the undead until he retook Castle Wightmoor and become the first Baron of Dwynnen. The war advanced south until the barony had reached the Iliac Bay and ended with the Battle of Firewaves in 3E 267.[4] In the wake of the battle, Baron Othrok appointed his soldiers as the vanguard of Dwynnen, under the new name, the Order of the Raven.[3]

So I'm really thinking that there is a really high possibility the Descents of the Ravenwatch Reform into a Group that becomes the Order of the Raven in the Third Era. An Order that is led by Baron Othrok.

They gave everyone who wanted it, the Impercial City DLC

Now that i want to gift the 4 dlc pack to a friend, i cant because they have Imperial City DLC, so the discounted price of 4k crowns for the 4 pack cant be gifted to them....

I have sent multiple support tickets as has my friend and we have gotten NO resolution

To buy the other 3 dlc's in the 4 dlc pack costs 7k crowns to buy them separately

Can't get ZOS to remove Imperal City from their purchases either...

ok so due to the responses i got below i concede it is merely poor planning on their part... thoughtlessness is most likely the culprit here.

But iut's been 4 days with no response

Ok so i see ESO store and account is maintinence today until 4pm est us so maybe they are doing a massive overhaul to fix it

The fang lair style seems to have gone missing from the crafting menu. Now I have a stack of master writs that I cannot complete because I cannot make pieces in the fang lair style. Can others confirm they have the same issue? I checked to make sure that I had not inadvertently selected only to see known styles.

I see this being posted but nothing being done, we have all spent our good money on this and now a 8 hour long grind to get to the ultimate leads only to met with an excavation bug!! I have 8 different gold leads and every single one is doing the same thing, at least give us a timeframe or an explanation on how your dealing with this... it is insanely frustrating, please fix this issue!!d941xr2t8fi6.jpg

Staminas should get a Thrassian Strangler alternative

With the release of Thrassian Stranglers my raid group took a hit to the worse from my point of view. We only had some "alibi" stamina players for running (e.g. MoL, ...) and stuff that actively requires alot of stamina but right now the gloves are boosting all magicka dd damage values so much most groups are compromised entirely of magic classes.

There are some mythic relics for stamina but they are mostly for PVP or tank, i cannot find a good DD alternative.

My suggestion:
1.) Make the gloves add Weapon Damage too in addition to Spell Damage so stamplayers can use it too!
2.) Make a new item for scrying made for Stamina players, e.g. like something below.

Belt of the Cunning Duelist, medium
(1) Killing an enemy with a weapon or stamina-based ability adds a stack of Duelist's Virtue increasing your weapon damage by X while also reducing the effectiveness of Healing received, Damage shields and reducing movement speed. Crouching or unequipping will dispel the bonus.

Bloodlord's Embrace appears to be bugged in operation.

Last night I was testing one the new mystics items on a few different group delves. I am assuming this “Bloodlord's Embrace” is intended for PvE tanks, I also am assuming the debuff it applies is not a kissing curse type of debuff. Meaning I believe there should be no chance the curse is intended to pass back to the person operating the Bloodloard Embrace (at least from the item description.) All in all, until I hit what I believe is a bug, I really like item however after killing a starting boss the bash debuff blood curse passed from the dead boss to myself. At first, I thought it was just a cosmetic thing then I realized my health bar was decreasing much faster than normal in fights and it was much more difficult to maintain good health. I bashed anther enemy but it did not remove the debuff from me, I then tried to cleanse, and had a teammate try to cleans me, I also remove the chest plate nothing removed the blood curse. Later we finished the delve I still had the blood curse I thought I would need to open a ticket with tech support but after we left the delve the blood curse went away. I really do like this mystic but it needs to be fixed.

Why is Rada al-Saran bringing back the Gray Host? [possible Greymoor Spoilers]

Did my brain dump of the week on: the Gray Host.

Even though they are prominent to the lore in Greymoor, I am left with questions as usual:
  1. Why is Rada al-Saran resurrecting the Gray Host? Clearly he wants them back and doesn't care about the people he sacrifices...but why?
  2. Where is the old leader of the Gray Host called vampire king Styriche of Verkarth? Did Rada al-Saran purposely not bring him back to life because he wanted to have all the power over the Gray Host?
