My absolute biggest problem with the new cp system that absolutely pisses me off

$

So they give us a new cp system, thats all fine. they raise the level from 810 to 3600, again cool. The grind to level up is insanely lowered so you gain new cp points at a much faster rate, great. the problem here is how they implemented it from the old system. Instead of taking into account the amount of xp you have earned total to calculate your new cp score, they have instead chosen to just keep your cp score as is, giving you the same amount of skill points to spend, and increasing the cost of each perk. So we have basically been robbed of levels and and robbed blind of xp we have earned over the years, they just expect us to grind our way back to being as strong as we were, and then some. Instead we should have been given a new level based on xp earned. But no, that would have been too obvious for zos

Omg, I am so bored with reassigning every one of my skills on each one of my characters

Why the hate against pve tank mains?

$

I truly don’t understand.

Tanks received a minor buff to damage taken.
Problem is this is after a major nerf.
Tanks were still better pre markarth when minor maim was 15% and major protection was 25%.

Mag sustain is only slightly nerfed.
But the markarth patch was a major buff.
So no complain about mag sustain from me.

The real nerf this patch is stam sustain.
Block cost is significantly increased.
Roll dodge cost is significantly increased.

Honestly I don’t mind the roll dodge increase cost. And there is a slottable skill to get a free roll dodge every 30 seconds.

The block cost increase is truly annoying. 600+ per block is just insane.

Here is my suggestions, may or may not work.
1. 80 flat reduction cp -> 4%, 4x the effect in trials dungeon arena
2. Buff sturdy 4 -> 5.5%
3. Just change multiplicative stacking to additive stacking.

Pressing C to directly open the character page or manually clicking it from the bar at the top while menus are open results in a complete loss of UI and a side order of everything going slightly blury, pressing the C key again while in this state brings up a half broken character sheet while removing the bluring effect and attemping to do anything else [inventory, map chamption points ect] results in nothing apperaing and me retaining full control of my character and the screen still being blury, with the only means to fix this issue being a complete ui reload

Magcro DPS nerfed, Blastbones and Skeletal Arcanist no longer benefiting from Major Prophecy

$

I reported this bug in the thread here during the first week of PTS and with the bug report function on PTS later on to make sure it was addressed, but I didn't see this mentioned in the latest patch notes, so I made a template to test it out. Turns out Blastbones is still not benefiting from Major Prophecy from either a spell power pot or Inner Light. I tested this with a build that has a 72.2% crit rate and three Grave Lord abilities slotted for an effective 102.2% crit rate, and Blastbones/Skeletal Arcanist still doesn't crit 100% of the time on a target under 25% health.

Currently on the Live servers if you have Inner Light slotted, your Blastbones and Skeletal Arcanist will get the 10% crit buff (doesn't work with a spell power pot though, only Inner Light, another bug I've reported that has gone unaddressed). Blastbones and Skeletal Arcanist are roughly ~25% of Magcro DPS, so a nerf to their crit rate is going to be a noticeable loss in single target DPS, and an even bigger loss in aoe DPS. It honestly seems like bug reports just aren't even being read if I can report this bug three weeks ago and not see it addressed in any way. Or was the intention to nerf Magcro DPS? Blastbones is still fairly unreliable with the new "changes" since it goes to the fourth gcd like 7-8m away from your target when on live it can reliably be every 3rd gcd in this scenario, and the damage increase passive no longer works.

Honestly I was kind of hopeful for my Magcro this patch with the Blastbones changes, but since the damage of Blastbones and Skeletal Arcanist has been nerfed, overall DPS in trials/dungeons will probably end up being lower, since my parses dropped 3-4% on PTS due to the nerf to the crit rate. With the loss of crit and the passive, DPS will be especially bad when not in melee range.

Also the casting bug with Boneyard (easily reproduced by just casting boneyard repeatedly until the animation will stop and the ability can't be casted for half a second) also wasn't addressed, which periodically causes Boneyard to just not cast.

Master Gatherer not working

$

So I have spent a lot of points filling up the tree to Master Gatherer, activated it, and then went out farming.

Having the skill fully activated makes no difference to not having it at all. I tested it on three characters and asked two friends to do the same and we all had the same results. First, we thought it's just the animation that is messed up but even when timing the action there is NO difference between having the Master Gatherer or not.

I mean you made it a lot more expensive and difficult to obtain - at least make it work?

Is the orb synergy in Cyrodiil fixed in patch 29? I see nothing in the patch notes for the final release. This problem was reported back in November on these forums and I haven’t seen a response from zos — maybe all of our posts have gone to the wrong section?

To the ZoS balancing team, with regards to PvE Bow/Bow DDs

$

In the past year or more, snipe (as well as a host of other changes to skills that a bow/bow PvE DD might use) has been adjusted again and again with regards to allowing a degree of counterplay in PvP, which is absolutely understandable. As a PvE bow/bow NB main though, I've only seen my ability to parse drop to ever lower depths. After rigorous research, theorycrafting and testing, while wearing top-tier fully upgraded gear and with strictly single target DPS focused builds (to the point of having marginal survivability for trials) I reluctantly accepted the fact that I'll always be able to produce DPS parses (on trial dummy, from max range without using melee skills) of up to 71-75k dps that is anywhere from 30 to 15% lower than the best DPS classes in game.

Aside from the relatively recent video of this warden (props to @Juhasow for bringing it to my attention)
image

most classes and especially the NB is forced to stick to melee range (in order to use gimmicks such as killer's blade) to get higher numbers, making bow play completely counterintuitive.

Seeing as bow users (with it being the main damage dealing weapon) is a standard playstyle archetype in literally every MMO-RPG/RPG I've enjoyed so far, I am at a loss to comprehend why ESO chooses to have this playstyle underperform to that extent in comparison to others (with it being the only option for a stamina DD to be a ranged DPSer as well). I understand that we are way too far from grasping how the overall CP overhaul and already announced potential changes might affect every PvE DPS class, but from what has already been released, it is indicated that not only there wont be any significant improvement, but it might drop even further down, once again. From my everyday experience in game, I rarely see other "highly performing" bow/bows (if any at all) as they must be one of the lowest populations of damage dealers, driven by the fact that their "terminal ballistics" aren't nearly as promising as other "decent" PvE dps classes like a Magicka Sorcerer, a fact which leads me to believe that bow/bow playstyle is either being neglected or purposely eliminated from the available options a player has, which directly contradicts ESO's "build diversity" policy.
Despite not being a game designer but only a fellow denizen of beautiful and harsh Morrowind, I am certain there are lots of ways to go about this without affecting PvP performance radically, off the top of my head comes an adjustment to the hawk's eye passive or generally a stacking buff/debuff that takes time enough to make it almost irrelevant to PvP but any kind of change to the "right" direction would be more than welcome. I sincerely hope that this post is taken into consideration by any member of the ZoS "dps engineering" team in order for us bow-loving adventurers to have a rewarding and balanced experience in all of Tamriel!

As to further support my claim, below is some information of my build but as the server is currently down I can currently share only parts of it:

770CP Dark Elf Nightblade (PC/EU)
Mundus stone: The Shadow
Frontbar: Piercing Mark/Lethal Arrow/Silver shards/Camouflaged Hunter/Relentless focus Ult: Flawless Dawnbreaker
Backbar: Dark Shade/Endless Hail/Poison Arrow/Camouflaged Hunter/Leeching Strikes Ult: Ballista (the one that is actually used)
Sets: Tzogvin's Warband (with frontbar weapon) / Arms of Relequen (always on/body) / The Master's Perfected Bow (Backbar) / x1 Balorgh / x1 Slimecraw
(all of the above at legendary/yellow quality with Kuta level glyphs too)
Poison: Double DoT poison
Foodbuff: Dubious Camoran Throne
Traits/Enchants: Precise on front bar / Infused - Weapon damage on back bar / Divines on all pieces / Stamina enchant on all pieces with x1 Health Enchant on Helmet
Potions: Essence of Weapon Power
My CP allocation follows the principles of well known stamblade guides like Alcast's and other well established theorycrafters, that are specifically made for similar bow/bow setups.

Rotation:
Prebuff: Relentless Focus - Leeching strikes - Dark Shade - Essence Pot
Initiate: Endless hail / LA / Poison Arrow / Barswap / LA
Main Rotation: Lethal Arrow / LA / Lethal arrow / LA ... until Endless Hail is almost over, using Spectral Bow proc on Cooldown whenever on front bar in place of Lethal Arrow,
Barswap / LA / Endless Hail / LA / Poison Arrow / Barswap / LA / Lethal Arrow / LA ... until Endless hail is down, then on the 2nd rotation refresh Dark shade/Leeching Strikes together with Endless Hail / Poison arrow -> Rinse and repeat.

By no means do I claim that I have the absolute best bow/bow DPS build, that being said, I have tried lots of iterations, with varying amounts of armor penetration (by adjusting CP or adding a Kra'gh piece) to cater to different group setups always keeping the 18.2k threshold in mind with either frontbar Master's bow (together with poison arrow instead of silver shards) while using Maelstorm Bow for backbar (with a noticeable HP decrease at the loss of a heavy piece) as well as other sets altogether (that introduce lightweight trap in rotation when swapping Tzogvin's) but with no significant DPS improvement.

Build altering suggestions that promise an increase in single target DPS are always welcome and I am more than happy to try them out and prove myself wrong.

PS: My sincere thanks to the ZoS team for taking this huge step with the CP rework and for trying to promote freedom (and consequence) of choice, for the constant attempt to balance this intricate machine that is ESO and generally for taking care our beloved One Tamriel!
PS2: If any of you agree with my points, upvote and help the bow/bow minority become a reliable DPS class again!

Azura's blessings,
Annurang

THE BEST PVP CLASS (no procs)

I just wanted to say that i'm so happy about MDK's becoming the best class for pvp. MDK's are so over powered that they don't even need an execute or purify or any movement mechanics or literally any class defining ability like being able to reflect projectiles or something (how lame would that be amiright?). Looking forward to banking all my farmed sets and hoping on my MDK to totally kick butt in cyrodil!

Hidden 30- second cooldown on swapping CP's

$

Hello, between the last PTS patch and live ZOS have seemingly introduced a hidden cooldown on how often you can swap which skills are active on your champion bar. (Around 30 seconds)

You do not tell players about this cooldown, at all. You just say "One or more Champion Points slots cannot be changed"

I may have a theory as to why you have done this, however, I would love for them to let us know somehow if this was intentional and why they chose not to document it anywhere.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_SarahHecker @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Could you please provide some insight. As I would really like to know why this decision was made. If you do not want players swapping CP's that regularly could you please let us know. I would love to be able to provide as much benefit to players as I can, however, with this hidden change causing many issues for me and my addon I would really like some communication as to why this change was made.

It is obviously many players aren't happy with the current implementation of the Green CP tree and many players are unhappy with the amount of micromanagement required to achieve the best results out of the system.
I tried to provide a solution for this pain point, however, you have then decided to break it by implementing a long cooldown on how often stars can be slotted to the champion bar.

Many thanks.

EDIT: After looking more into it it seems that it's actually 30 seconds not 15..

PSA: "Loot Spying" is NOT a Malicious Feature

$

After spending over 4 hours today running normal Castle Thorn, a member of my party got the much desired "Unleashed Terror Greatsword," a weapon I greatly desired. Seeing they got the drop with the loot log addon, I asked them if they needed it and if not, if I could have it. They replied that they would have given it to me if I wasn't a "Loot Spy." They proceeded to immediately add me to their ignore list and refused further communication.

Unless you have spent dozens of hours farming for gear yourself, you really have no right to criticize other people for trying to make a painful grind much less time consuming. If you have ever denied someone else loot because they used an addon to track the dozens of item drops in a dungeon to make sure that YOU don't have to scan for the stuff they asked for at the beginning, then you are truly the lowest kind of player.

I noticed that some of the resource nodes I could harvest looked wrong.

* A few Rubedite Ore nodes looked like Iron Ore nodes (even withing one survey batch)
* A few Ancestor Silk looked like Jute.

Maybe there are more like that and from node types as well. This happened in Rivenspire, Wrothgar and in other places too, I think. Within the last 2 hours.

Friends told me that they had seen similar things after update 29 too, so I suppose it's worth a look.
