More About the State of Battleground PVP

Hi,

I'm all Yellow Stamina Necro with 2h & 1h + Shield, infused weapon dmg in Jewelry. Wearing Twilight/Eternal Vigor with Unleashed or Oblivion or what ever proc, sometimes amuse myself with Spriggan / New Moon. Malacath when crits are not involved with build. Artaneum for digestives etc.

But

Fair to say I have at least close to end game gear. So how it is possible:

That there are many times when I do not do any damage to my opponents or if normal Dizzy goes for lets say 5k sometimes you just don't do any visible damage. Ok yes a tank build + shields, but if 4 in our team dish out our best and we can hardly kill this guy? And after all this, this tank is still actually able to do enormous amount of damage back to us - great design?

I know 24/7 min/max players in any RPG PVP can have an advantage and follow with the good old "learn to play" jargon.

But

There is something badly wrong with the game if it doesn't allow you to do any damage in Artifact gear. We all love to see the Health bar drop when we hit/cast and smash.... don't we?

So there are these combinations of builds / gear and group play where, even in great gear, you cannot have an influence to the fight. Ok good for you geniuses, but for the rest of us it is frustrating game play with no reward after grinding "the best gear" and with the top gear one should be able to do damage no matter what, right :smiley:

Do we need caps, diminishing returns, I don't really know, but not being able to influence the outcome "at all" in PVP game doesn't sound right.

I need some help please.
I am trying to talk to fa'ren-dar to activate the beginning of heists. But all he does it talk fast and the interaction closes and I haven't progressed. Rinse repeat. I am level 6 TG and have done the prerequisite quests.
I am completely lost with what is wrong

Furnishing cap update?

With the new chapter launching soon, the time has come to ask the question again: will we see an increase in the furnishing cap? Last update I saw was the one pinned to the top of this forum - over a year ago.

With every new Chapter or DLC, we get more achievement furnishings, zone themed furnishings, undaunted trophies/furnishings, and now antiquity furnishings (another brazier of frozen flame? Why yes thank you, I’ll just put it right over th... oh). All the furnishings are beautiful (ayleid gate from the crown crates anyone? 😍) but our houses are out of spaces. My Mathiisen Manor (@ae’ron is my account name, don’t know if you can visit using that) only has 600 traditional spots but needs at least 100 more to place all the beautiful new stuff that’s been released and that we know is coming. Plus we need more slots to place all the heads, I errr mean trophies, of our enemies, uhhh accomplishments, on display!

I visit the luxury furnisher every week knowing that anything I buy will just get stuffed into my bank until the devs help us out.

As I joke with my guild, housing is the TRUE endgame of ESO so any update would be appreciated.

Bound Furniture Issue

I have searched the forums and seen that this is something that has been discussed several times to some extent but I wanted to provide a possible concept to consider.

When coming back to the game I was excited to be able to utilize the housing system as well as the furnishings that go along with it, this makes the game feel very much like a TES game. I became frustrated once I realized there was no way for my wife and I to both use our bound items in the same house. This is a pretty significant oversight IMO.

My initial, knee jerk, thought was that you should be able to designate individuals from your friend list to allow them to drop furnishings in your house, or some variation of this, allowing players such as my wife and I to enjoy a house together with ALL of our furnishings. I read another post suggesting just that and saw a response along the lines of "The company should not have to deal with fallout from failed relationships" and I agree with that. That still leaves us with the issue of being able to share all (decoration) items in game if you want to. Many are available through crafting and purchasing from vendors but there are several very unique and exciting options that are strictly bound.

The main culprit, possibly only real culprit, is Scrying. I am aware this is new but I don't see the reason for every single furnishing item being bound on pickup, this feels like a method to force people to try it out. Scrying is interesting for a little while but then turns into something that feels more tedious, not to mention it is something that one part of the population would rather not do, PvPers mainly. There are plenty of items that are only attainable by going into PvP zones that allow PvPers to make some money through selling them to people that rfuse to step foot in those zones, some style pages that can go for 1mil come to mind. What is the reasoning behind making all furnishings attained through Scrying bound on pickup?

I personally believe that there should either be an option to allow gifting of bound furnishings to specified people on a friends list or to remove the bind on pickup from most, if not all, furnishins acquired through Scrying. If there were just a few unique ones that were bound I might understand but all furnishings acquired through Scrying are bind on pickup.

[HELP/Need Opinions] Armor Sets for BG Necro Healer

Hello!

I'm going to be mainly healing in Bgs on my Necro and need some advice for gear. I really, I'll be honest, get so overwhelmed once I hit max lvl. I have re-rolled so many characters and leveled back to 50 lol. The whole gearing situation is a lot.

So... What am I mainly looking for?

From my research it seems I should get 1 full (5pc) set of HA with things like, armor, max health and/or + healing done/taken.

I looked up this set:

I feel like it would be a good one as the proc can be useful and I feel like I'll more than likely always be getting hit. So it'll be up every 6 seconds practically.

For a second set, from my research, it seems a sustain set is needed. These came up in my search: These would be weapons/jewelry.

https://eso-sets.com/set/lamias-song - The proc would be helpful in group settings and i feel like it would be really helpful in BGs? Also all the magicka regen and max magicka seems useful.

I looked at crafted sets too: these all seem like they'd be useful but I feel like they are "selfish" in the sense that there are no helpful group procs like from the dungeon sets above.

Do you all think I could be successful running Imperium Armor + Lamia or Hitis Weapon/Jewelry? Are the crafted sets better to shoot for? Maybe Shackle + Fortified? Or Shackle + Imperium?


Any help is appreciated and please, if there are any sets that work for you that are not mentioned above let me know how they work for you. I need ideas!!!! BEFORE I RE-ROLL AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phantom Mail Bug ...

I just returned to ESO and encountered a very annoying bug ...

It shows as if I have 2 unread mails but I do not have them ..

So far I've tried to reloadui, relog, disable all addons, repair game, log another character and what not!

What do I do? thanks!

why such a long time without fixes for easy to prove bugs

there are bugs that happen occasionally or even randomly, like the White-Gold Tower HM when the channeler becomes invulnerable (bug that still exists even though they recently "fixed" it lmao) or mages guild slotted abilities passives being granted sometimes on the other bar. But there are bugs that are simply there, easy to prove on the spot and present constantly, like these:

- the Fighting Finesse CP perk is not showing in advanced stats, i don't know if it even works. Blessed and Quick Recovery CP perks for example, are shown properly in advanced stats. Untamed Aggression also works, my total spell damage lowers when i unequip this perk and goes back when i slot it again.
- unstable frost wall deals its instant ending damage in the new location where you recast the ability, instead of in the original location of the cast like unstable fire or shock wall does.
- the asylum shield set gives back magicka upon recasting the Defensive Posture ability even without absorbing or reflecting a projectile, can even be done out of combat.
- Meteor from Mages Guild grants empower at casting as the passive says, but also again when the meteor lands.
- Mystic Orb does not get extra damage from 8% aoe boost from shock staff, but does get extra damage from 10% aoe boost from Biting Aura CP perk. What, there are two different instances of aoe damage? one for destro passive and one for cp perk, and orb only applies to one of them. Biting Aura has "attacks" on tooltip and Ancient Knowledge has "abilities" on tooltip, any importance?
- argonian racial passives for disease and poison resistance are not working (or maybe just not shown in advanced stats
- flame enchant on weapon (even sword) procs Encratis's Behemoth proc set, but frost enchant on weapon (non frost staff) does not proc Winterborn proc set (frost light attacks from frost staff do work).

i am sure there's more which i either didn't encounter or don't remember. I tested these myself and i made ingame bug reports for some of those, but several patches went by without any fix or mention.
but the concern is why are the fixes so difficult or delayed, it's not like they have to prove the bug or make conditions to make it appear so they can investigate. These bugs always happen, not sure even they can even be called bugs or just "things that don't work properly".
Are these really that unimportant to be set such a low priority?

Especially with the latest Aylied ruin, having the ability to team up with 2-4 people (more people like a 12v12 mini war with siege would be fun too, but baby steps), and have a team battle in a arena that you have built yourself would really elevate this game. From a players perspective it would add a lot of fun with friends and guilds, from a business perspective you would sell more houses and crown furniture. From both perspectives it would add longevity and more elements to the game. PVPers would get more into housing. House decorators would probably go nuts making amazing arenas and battlegrounds. It would be a win for all of us.

Frustration over Vateshran's Chosen Achievement

I made better time than usual, got every boon buff without doing any secret bosses, and still my 45 min timer went off mid final boss fight. I looked in dismay at the timer as I had 5 mins going into the final boss fight, and knew I wasn't going to get the title. I ended up dying on the final boss one time, so I guess no sense being upset over something like that, but my real disheartening is that the time limit, will stop me from ever getting this achievement. I made great time, did minimal exploring for buffs and sprinted the entire thing when I could. Ik people do it, and even complained about how easy it was, but to me, who has a flawless conquerer title as well, this one is and will be much tougher because I don't have the ultimate leet dps to clear it in time. I just find it sad that the devs added this stipulation to the title. After said death, I finished off the run at 58 mins. I don't know if I can get this title, because of this.

Vateshran hollows arena drop manipulation by ESO

Hi ASO team,


I understand and knew that you modified your so call "rng" but it is to the point of ridiculous. But can you explain that i got the Vateshran hollows bow for 8th times straight?
That probability is 1/17 * 8 times. I could win lottery with that probability.

Please could you just let your "rng" be real rng instead? Or introduce a token system that allow players to trade in undesired drops to token that they can trade in later?
I dont want to quite ESO now because I had a great guild with great people. But is the game is manipulated in such a nasty way. Statistics show the truth.

This boss is ridiculous right now. The damage is excessive, and the radius is ridiculous. So much for "if you could complete it before you can complete it now"...

My guild have vhof, vmol, vas, vcr completes... but can't get a vso now.

Ball Groups: A National Concern

The other thread was closed because of mean people. Let's have a constructive thread.

Ball groups aren't going anywhere. Change whatever you want, the players will adapt.

The issue for me is that they tend to exploit inherent weakness in the combat system while also overloading the server with aoe spasm that further make it hard to kill them.

Strategically, they can avoid most attacks by going into towers which also prevents the most effective counter attacks.

Most siege is useless at best because either you can't directly hit them or they simply shrug off the damage.

We need a better counter. For example what if there was a new siege weapon that exploded on impact, dealing increased damage for each additional player hit?

What if resource towers were destructible?

If groups want to ball up, I'm all for it. But there needs to be a better counter than sending 30 people to kill 12. I think ball groups might actually enjoy a better challenge but hey, easy ap is hard to turn down.

Any other (non trollish) ideas?

Getting kicked from dungeons, misuse

Yesterday I was using the 'Looking for Dungeon' tool with my DPS character to get my daily 10 crystals. I landed in Fungal Grotto 1, which, as most of you know is not a hard dungeon and can be done solo with little problem. I am over CP 1200, there were two players mid level and one level 19. Within 30 seconds there was a notification to kick the level 19 player. I am inclined not to kick players without a very valid reason, so I answered no. Within a couple of minutes I found myself being kicked from the game. No doubt this was in revenge for me not kicking the first player, who no doubt didn't know he/she was the first target. I feel this so called kicking tool is over used by players who, in my opinion, have an overinflated opinion of themselves. In my opinion it should be adjusted to prevent this kind of misuse. I only kick people who are afk or abusive in chat, otherwise I will leave the game if the dungeon can't be completed with that team. No doubt I will get a lot of flak for this post. But at 75 years old and 20 years in the military this will be water off a ducks back.

Elemental Blockade needs a buff

Right now Unstable gives best DPS by far while blockade is barely used outside of healers and tanks when using a lightning staff. I propose that it needs a buff... but not a damage buff. I propose making its duration longer so that over the course of its duration it deals more damage total than unstable. This would mean for DPS unstable would remain best choice but blockade would be better for sustained damage and cheaper on resources.
Alternatively, unstable’s dot damage could be reduced with its burst buffed to compensate while blockade would deal more damage on its dot ticks but have no burst option. Blockade has been left behind and it needs some love.

Dear Devs,

the quieu time in Ravenwatch is quickly becoming unbearable.

Please watch this closely - I cannot say whether CP fugitives, F2P players, or the absence of a faction lock is the problem here,

but having to wait for more than one hour even in the middle of the week is too long, hands down.

is it that difficult to get explanations from the combat balance team?

you changed buffs and sets with balance in mind, with the pretext of lowering the distance between the floor and the ceiling.
However you left many things unchanged, like they are supposed to be like this. Not even an explanation of why or a note saying that these will be adjusted in a future patch.
What are the reasons of this? who can i talk with about this? @ZOS_GinaBruno ? it's not like i am entitled to any answers, but the community as a whole (at least everyone i play with) does not understand the changes, or why other things are left untouched, or why nobody from the team is explaining about those decisions.
This just results in a frustrating experience, and it gets down to more work into building the character rather than actual fun gameplay. These things are just another brick in the wall between players and the game.

that was all i had to say, below i will just post some examples regarding to what i am talking about.
- the Malacath Band was made with 25% bonus, comparable to Major Berserk at that time. Now Major Berserk is nerfed to 10% from 25%, yet Band remains the same. Where is the SBE (Set Bonus Efficiency) at this item? it should have been brought down to 10%.
- Slimecraw no compensation but i suppose it aligns with SBE ?
- For instance Vampire Cloak has been adjusted for the loss, so i suppose Slimecraw SBE should have been modified too?
- Major Protection from 30% to 10%, but Buffer of the Swift still grants 10% all the time, unchanged.
- proc sets had 1.5k-2k dps standard with proc chances like 15-20%, so maybe a 500 dps. Now there is no proc chance, so they do indeed 1.5k-2k dps but this is too strong now?

there are many more examples, but these are just to represent the idea. Do the balance team actually play the game on a competitive level like high MMR battlegrounds or vet dlc trials? Also trial builds are mostly copy-paste and if you dare use something else you lose up to 5k dps.

EDIT: i wanted to add some insight about the nerf to buffs. Again two tons hammer nerf, instead of adjustments. From 15% to 5%, minor buffs like maim or protection are not even worth to use now, just wasted slots on the bar. Same goes for The Major buffs, 10% from 30% is too much to be worth using the sources of these buffs.
Why not first a patch with 10% minor, 20% major, and then decide if they are needed to nerf further to 5 and 10 % ?

Guild Bank Lag

Hi there!
Since the last patch I've noticed that I'm getting exessive amounts of lag in the Guild Bank window. It will freeze up and take at least 3 seconds before anything.

Example. Open Guild Bank > Window Opens > 3 second freeze > change to another Guild > 3 second freeze > change to deposits > 3 second freeze

It's happening at all times of day, on all characters. It's also still happening with addons switched off.
