Bored Man Hollows

$

Okay, I have finally got around to getting the ring of the Pale Order and omg getting the lead from the bad man hollows is sooooooooo boring. At least the Wrothgar wbs are fun. Cold rock diggings took six tries for me, so not great but not infinite time like I have heard unlucky people have had. But this bad man hollows lead, how long is the chance because I have been in here for hours just running in circles. I even collected the Ring of the Wild Hunt Lead and another furnishing lead instead of the actual lead I want.

I mean there is at least another 5 people in here with my running around and around.

Why are there grinds like this in the game, I am not enjoying myself here, I opened videos on another monitor to actually keep myself entertained.

I'd love to just give up on getting the ring of the pale order but I have been stuck on the last round of VMA since the CP got changed and I could no longer heal enough from Crit surge to stay alive the ring of the pale order is my only way out of this VMA lock. :/

Any way pointless complaining thread, feel free to complain about the lead you can't get below.

So the endeavours... again...

So, today there's only 2 endeavours I can do.
I'm not a wretched thief, so no heists.
I'm not a bloody murderer, so no sacraments.
I'm not interested in PvP, and have no interest in being cannon fodder for someone else's fun, so no Cyrodiil.

That leaves the Chests (no problem) and the Reptiles.
Interestingly, after doing Wayrest Sewers I, apparently the Alligator Boss isn't a reptile.
Neither are any of the Dunerippers in Volenfell.
Neither are any of the many Argonians I killed in both dungeons.

Disappointing.

There shouldn't be multiple endeavours on any given day that require a particular role or guild (or PvX). No more than one from any guild or particular role, keep as many as possible as general as possible (things like killing reptiles, opening chests, harvesting materials, etc. that can be done by anyone, PvE or PvP).

Vateshran Hollows Scattered Spirits Achievement

I've done several runs through Vateshran Hollows trying to find all 5 Remnants in each portal area in order to get the Scattered Spirits achievement (I'm farming for the Void Pitch dye), but so far I have never been able to find more than 4 in a single run in each portal. Sometimes I only find 1 or 2 despite scouring the areas very thoroughly. My question is: is it possible for less than 5 remnants to actually spawn after finding the appropriate Essence orb in each area, thus making the Scattered Spirits achievement impossible to complete until the Arena resets?

AU based 'Order of the Star' social guild is recruiting! [PC] [NA]

[Updated 21 October 2020]

The Order of the Star is back, and we're recruiting friendly people who enjoy helping others and being social - we're a social guild after all! We have members in Australia, the US and other areas of the world, so we're active regardless of the timezone! We have over 170 members at the moment (it varies, depending on the day) of all races and factions. We're noob AND vet friendly, have an active guild chat, and are often doing guild PVE activities like public or group dungeons, world bosses and trials, and some of us are jumping into Cyrodiil for PVP activities too. We use Discord for forum-type information and discussions as well as for voice chat, and we have a weekly raffle for members to win prizes while helping the guild raise funds to purchase furnishings for the guild house (Grand Psijic Villa).

We're a family friendly guild (we're a swearing-free zone), and all ages are welcome. We have rules available in Discord that encourage members to be respectful and supportive while having a good time, and we don't hesitate in quickly removing any 'bad eggs'. New members are encouraged to join Discord to read our rules and stay up to date with guild announcements and information, and we also remove members if they haven't logged in to the game in 21 days, so our guild is always active. Our goal is to have fun, and we do pretty well at that.

A bit of background... I used to be a beta tester back in 2014, but left the game soon after it went live because of all the bugs and bots. I came back after a few months when I heard they'd been resolved and formed the Explorers of Tamriel guild for people that enjoyed.... exploring Tamriel! Then it changed to a RP guild called the Crusaders of the Seventh. After a while I took a break from the game for almost a year, and came back again in October 2016. I built the guild up again from nothing (kicking out most of the 40-odd inactive members) but focused on it being a social guild instead. Early 2017 the Order of the Star was formed, and we've been going strong since then. We changed our name again early 2019 to the Crusaders of Akatosh for the dragon hunting, but we don't do that much any more, so a couple days ago I changed us back to the Order of the Star.

But enough about our history. Let's look to the future.

The Order of the Star has members who are proud of who we are. We wear our guild tabards with pride. And we have a vision for our future, to be one of the best social guilds of friendly, supportive and active players in all of Tamriel. We invite you to join us for the ride.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, send me a message in-game or add your in-game @username below and an invite will be coming your way!

Do have players thoughts impact on the game?

$

Hi Folks,

I was looking around a bit and fouund, for example, that for several years people share their minds here on the forum, opening topics, get them closed after a year, open them again, getting them closed after another year, and that can go on for several years until maybe giving it impliing to the thinking that ZOS won't listen, even if the vast majority of the playerbase agrees in a matter.
So, it raises the question: Do have players thoughts impact on the game?

I want to discuss this as as neutral as I can, collecting data and heraing oppinions and experiences I may simply just not have yet due to not having a that long history in the game as some of you. (I have played the game in 2018 for several months and just picked it up again now in 2021, thats why my account says I'd be in for years but in fact just am right back for jet a few months now and will stay for a few more months to come because I basicly like the game and widely enjoy it even with flaws I personaly see. So this won't be a rage or insult or downtalk of the game, because the game is good. But the Thing is, though the game IS good, it could be even much better and be super-special-awesome! (yeah, that was a reference to YuGiOh!-Abridged, nice series, would recomend, and with the ice-breaker now done let's head right into the topic))

Throughout me playing the game I recognized a few things I, in my oppinion, think about could be added or changed for the better and searched for others who also recognized them to share and talk about those personal oppinions and if not, I created a topic to it. So far so natural. The last one was what brought me to make this topic and I want to focus it as my main example to this matter.
As I wandered the beautiful citys, towns and villages of Tamriel it allways felt to me that something about the world was odd... there were interesting characters in guild halls and tavers, busy markets with vendors, town guards patroling, a worried mother giving you the quest to find her child... with the child beeing another fully grown adult. Yes, it is that topic. The missing children.
The thing is: For me and many others that breaks immersion for the players because it doesn't feel "real", it doesn't feel like a natural world even beeng in a fantasy setting, it's incomplete as a world for itself. And: There were children in Skyrim and Skyrim was a Gameworld there millions of players loved to spend hundreds sometimes even thousands of hours in because the world felt believable. And that was also due to the implementation of Children just simply existing. And that also let's uns know that Bethesda could implement them if they wanted, 'cause they already done it in Elder Scrolls V.
That are not my thoughts alone:
The question about the children is dating all the way back to 2014, if you search for the term "Children" you'll get a thousand pages of entrys about entrys, topics and posts all wanting children in the game just for the same reaons I allready mentioned.
"[...] I just want a few kids in each village behaving like kids, making the world believable." (@AlexDougherty, June 2014)

"Well, having children around, even unkillable children, would be more immersive and realistic than the childless ESO world.[...]" (@VaranisArano, December 2019)

And what are the official posts of the ZOS-Employees under those topics at least the ones I have seen:
"[...]I do not have insight or effect on the decision made.[...]" (@ZOS_CoriJ, July 2016)
and a lot of
"This thread has gotten long in the tooth as it's a year old, and for that reason we are locking it as a necro. Feel free to start a new thread about this if you wish to." (@ZOS_BillE, July 2017)
simply due to so many Treads about that topic having added up over the years.

That implies to me that, alltough the community has it's fair oppinions on how to improve the game, things in the game that should be implementet, should be changed, fixed, balanced or should even be taken out and they discuss it as it is the 'General "Discussion"' Thread and you can simply count the numbers of player who are pro and who are contra and form a picture of what the community and playerbase of the game likes or dislikes, what they want and dont want, It doesn't move it. 'Cause the people who are reading those, confess, that even beeing a member of the team developing and maintaining the game, they have no influence in it at all. So are the developers actualy not listening to the players? Shouldn't an MMO have a communication on an eye to eye level between the team behind the game and those in it? To work together in creating the very best the game itself can be via a partnership. Again, these questions are not to discredit the developers of the game, these are questions about things I simply want to understand because I likely may not have the full picture and can be wrong all along simply to not kwowing better just yet. But I have seen so many topics where people widely and sometimes even in a quite (there are always people against something, that just natural but still quite) unsion agreeing on changing, adding or removing a feature or ascpect over and over and that it would result in the game being more awesome but was never implimented afterwards and never even saw an official feedback because those of ZOS who I have seen commenting there, if I've seen any, can't just do this as they state themselfs "This is not an official stance on the subject[...] (@ZOS_CoriJ, July 2016). I don't state that IS the case, but it is the impression one could get by just having seen those as I am totaly aware that I havn't seen everything.

Again, this topic is not to descredit ZOS, this topic is not supposed to be a rant. It is just to try to talk about and understand something that has catched my eye. Gathering information I simply dont have yet, things I don't know, that I simply missed out on. 'Cause as I said right at the very beginning, I have not as a long history as others so I do it under the assumption that there in fact have been also cases there things that were discussed by the playerbase DID had impact on the game and that I just havn't seen those 'cause of the already stated reason, hence the formulation of a question. So my bid to you, who may have been arround for much longer than me, to mention also those and therefor making this one half of a point more complete to gather a wider picture and to realy being able to form an informed oppinion.

Thank you for fighting trough this rather long post and hope to see you arround in the comment section.

Enjiro Kitsune

Long distance, no warning, light attack insta-death gank is absurdly OP

$

In the history of PvP, The Heavy attack gank builds from stealth were pretty egregious. And so were the snipe ganks. And the Goliath Bash , and the graveyard synergy builds. And, my stam blade ganks are hitting hard these days-- but they require at least 2 and sometimes three rounds of abilities/GCD plus they require you to be right up next to someone. But this long distance Light attack gank is the absolutely worst ZOS has ever allowed to come into the game.

A single light attack from on top of a keep wall, no risk, and the crushing weapon/crystal frag is an insta-drop dead . On my recap, the Power overload doesnt even register any damage; the damage shown hits all at once, is less than my total HP, but I drop dead.

There may be some sort of bug-- since of course crushing weapon needs to have a light attack land to go off, but it doesn't show up on the recap.

With the terrible lag and awful game performance towards the end of MYM I've had several insta-deaths, but this is the aboslutely worst idea ZOS ever had (if it was an idea and not simply something that slipped in).

[Temporary Fix/Solution] Invisible ESO Forums on desktop browsers

ZOS is aware that there are problems with the Forums at the moment. Some people are experiencing the problem that they are unable to see the Forums. The page loads but only shows the background image. Some Forums users have already identified that some JavaScript causes the 'body' of the Forums to be assigned the 'invisible' CSS style value.

While the ZOS team is looking for a solution, community members (people you may know) are unable to access the Forums. One proposed solution is to simply disable JavaScript in the browser. However, this disables many of the Forums' functions that depend on JavaScript. Another solution is to use extensions (or add-ons) to force a CSS style. This means that you have to search for extensions (or add-ons), install them on your browser, and setting up the extension (or add-on) to 'overwrite' the CSS styling value that makes the Forums 'invisible'. Since it is safe to assume that most people don't have experience with the CSS language, I have posted some step-by-step guides on my own blog. You can find these guides (for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge) on the following page: https://lmclan.weebly.com/forums-fixes.html

For those who are more familiar with browser extensions/add-ons, and CSS. Here is a summary that applies to most browsers:

Step 1: Find the following extension(s)/add-on(s) for the respective browsers:
Stylish in Google Chrome
Stylebot in Mozilla Firefox
Custom Style Script in Microsoft Edge

Step 2: After installation, open up the extension/add-on and add a new style.

Step 3: Add the Forums URL (https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/) in the respective URL field in the extension/add-on, and the following line of code:
body { visibility: visible !important; }

For the Stylish extension, you also have to select: "URLs starting with" from the drop-down menu. Otherwise, the style will only apply to the home page of the Forums.

Step 4: If applicable for the extension/add-on you use: click on the "Save" button. In the Custom Styles extension you have to click the plus sign (+).

Step 5: You can close the extension/add-on tab and return to the ESO Forums. You (or your friend) should now be able to view the Forums again.

PS. I do understand that posting this temporary fix/solution on the Forums while the people with the problem are unable to view the Forums is problematic. Hence, I decided to post these solutions on my own Blog (because it can be accessed regardless of your access [or lack thereof] to the Forums.)
PPS. If these solutions (didn't) work, please let me know. Also, if you have found another (better) solution, don't hesitate to leave a comment.

Random Normal vs Veterans

Why do random vets give less Transmutes than random Normals? It should be adjusted IMO.

I never have really ran random normals, only when leveling new toons (which I just did) , and when grouped with friends who want quick transmutes. While leveling my new toons I was forced into groups with cp1000+ players who honestly arent very good but run ahead of the whole dungeon which probably honestly made them take longer. Leaving behind mobs so you're stuck in combar and have to wait minutes to enter doors, while killing the mobs early would have taken seconds.

Adjusting random vets so it gives more transmutes and makes it worth while for good players to run It would save new players from toxicity that they are forced to put up with veteran players running ahead of groups and tanks in normal dungeons. I personally hate running normals on vet characters as everything is so mind numbingly easy, but on the other hand when you are queued as a tank for vets and get put in a group with DPS of less than 20k and are awarded the same amount as normals it just doesn't make any sense to me. Does anybody else feel this way?

Make random vets give more transmutes?

One of the Best builds for not META gaming.

Hi. A long time ago I ask about DPS and a lot of people say that they have problems to do even 20-30 k DPS.

I play long enough and i can play HA/LA any builds, but i really like HA more.

So i want to introduce you some of our builds we play.

Why this builds are good ? They are easy for starter players to do basic DPS.
40 k dps on 3 kk dummy is easy to do.

They are good becouse they are universal.
They are not the best in DPS, but let you do basic damage on start.
They have good sustain and live very good.
They do not need other players to support your DPS you can easely do your basic damage and pass a lot, as example all not HM trial content with it (including some HMs, may be all but do not check all for now ;), but in progress), all solo and vDLC dunguans content. No need to ask others to empower your DPS, just let people play as they want in set they want, if they do their base roll.

For good players, who understand importance of not only DPS, this builds are perfect, because it have free slots for skills. So you can heal or help group with taunting small adds or help tanks to pull it and etc.

So for people who do not like optimized groups and game play, where some people want from you buff their DPS - builds are perfect.

Easy DPS for begginers and a lot of side functions for pro-gamers.

May be for some one who only like DPS meta is the best - but I recommend it for all others.

Play and have fun.
And let other players get it, in sets and builds they want.
(If you do not pretend on world records and do not need it ofcourse. As example I do not even care about such stuff ;))

Looking for a Istirus outpost composite map

$

Istirus outpost is arguably my favorite place in all of ESO. I have high expectations of this outpost when Colovia is released. Hopefully what we see in the outpost background is preserved as it is depicted on the PvE map which will be released in a few years.

And it is precisely what there is around this outpost that intrigues me. I know that the PvP map is focused on the outpost and that there is nothing around it, but I am just trying to understand the entire infrastructure of this PvP instance. There are many reasons (fiction, roleplay and cartography).

I have no skills in datamining. That is why I am turning to people qualified to make composite maps of this instance. Are there any who want to take their time to do this ?

pnduca14bpt3.png
This is what a composite map is (taken from uesp). Here we have a zoom of the outpost centered on the playable surface. What I want to see is obviously the entire instance.

I find it a shame that the developers have built a huge map where a small percentage of the infrastructures is visible.

Performance: Trials vs PvP

$
0
0
With Midyear Mayham being done I finally got to witness some of the performance issues the PvP crowd has been talking about.

The performance issues (while present) were few and far between, and yes that include a full Cyro server.

A couple enemies teleported in BG, some lag skill delay is cyro.. But far from every fight.

Coming from Trials I witness a lot more performance issues in trials than I did in PvP to be perfectly honest.

I did what I do when I do any "competitive" modes and lower my graphics to Minecraft level and disable any none critical addons. So no more than 3-4.

I know we're all supposed to think Cyro performance is the devil incarnated but I gotta admit.. It's not really worse than the bad performance I see in Trials and many dungeon runs.
Even in parsing alone in my house my character will sometimes slow down, and suddenly speed up all the animations.
It seems to be the usual suspects

Random spike in ping for no apparant reason
Skills not going off
Lag
Skill delay
Desynch

Am I saying PvP performance is ideal? No, far from it.
Do I think PvP Performance is worse than the rest of the game? Honestly.. Not really. I think it got more do with players being more rage happy in PvP when they die than, they do in a 12 man trial group on Discord.

Unpopular opinion? Surely - but these are my observations.

Suggestion: Dragonknight deserve a execute ability (damage over time)

$
0
0
I personally believe that Dragonknights deserves a execute ability. I am not suggesting a direct execute, however a damage over time execute similar to "poison injection." Which would be mostly beneficial in "player versus environment." So what I am suggestion is that the ability: "Flame Lash" to be reworked. Plus if this ability was used in player versus player, I honestly can not see it being any more dangerous then poison injection.

Flame Lash
Lash an enemy with flame, dealing x Flame Damage.
If you strike an enemy that is immobilized or stunned, you set them Off Balance.
Targeting an Off Balance or immobilized enemy changes this ability into Power Lash, allowing you to lash an enemy at half cost to deal x Flame Damage and heal you for x Health over 2 seconds. This effect can occur once every 3 seconds.

Rather then receiving health in return, you would deal up to 100% more damage over time (10 seconds) to enemies that are off balance or immobilized. However if Zenimax did decide to keep healing receiving, I could imagine it being received every 2 seconds with the duration being reduced.

The reasoning as to why I am suggestion this in the first place, because my main character is a Magicka Dragonknight and I really do not wish to change my characters to a Stamina race in order to use Reverse Slash, Whirling Blades or Poison Injection.

A list of problems on PS5 version of the game

$

Just listing all the issues that I've seen so far on PS5 and that have been confirmed by other players. As I saw too many posts regarding each of them, it'll probably be easier even for ZOS to know what's happening if we just make a big post about all the issues, so here we go, feel free to add to this list if you guys see any other problem in the game:
  1. City of Ash 2, when going to the daedric part of the dungeon (after first portal), game crashes everytime I use any skill, sometimes with some heavy texture glitches before crashing, but right now it's unplayable (I didn't have time to test this one after wednesay's maintenance, so if someone can confirm, please do).
  2. Templar's skill "Spear Shards" is dropping frames during it's animation, no matter the place / situation.
  3. Templar's skill "Cleansing Ritual" is dropping frames in crowded places / heavy fights and it's somehow a LOT brighter than it was on PS4, making it very difficult to see some mechanics, AOE damages on certain situations.
  4. Some trials are dropping frames pretty badly, Sunspire being the worst case, and Cloudrest / Asylum Sanctorium being just fine overall, but all trials are at least dropping a few frames during their fights (this have been happening on both Fidelity and Performance modes).
  5. Dungeons are dropping frames too but not on all of them, just the more "crowded" ones, regarding detail and animation, probably has something to do with fire particles because the worst ones are the ones with lots of fire stuff.
  6. Damage / Healing numbers are way off their locations, besides self healing / self damage, the combat numbers are all over the place, and sometimes even at extreme corners of the screen.
  7. If you skip the ZOS / Bethesda intros, the main menu music glitches and starts earlier, then if you press X it starts again but a bit louder (this have been happening since blackwood launch on PS4 too).
  8. Everytime I start the game, when I login to any character, it auto joins Area voice chat.
  9. If I browse the crown store and preview items for a while, when I exit the store and switch bars, my character turns into the last item I previewed on crown store.
  10. Friends list is somewhat fixed (now it shows most of my friends but still not all of them).
  11. The names of the players that last spoke on game voice chat are being "pasted" on loading screens.
  12. The ZOS / Bethesda intros are muted on PS5 (just saw a post regarding this and looks like it's gonna be fixed in an incremental update).

These are the issues I saw so far on PS5, I don't know if they are happening on Xbox Series as I don't have one and my Xbox friends don't play ESO.

Stamblade is just absurd in CP 2.0

$
0
0
If you set foot in cyrodil chances are you’ve already seen how insane stamblade performance is this patch. If the server performance isn’t absolute garbage and you aren’t charging head first in to ball groups stamblade is just outright too overpowered. First off cloak, my god its gone so beyond frustrating to deal with this skill from day one, its the ultimate utility skill, allowing you to 1. Evade all incoming single target damage that was going to hit long before cloak was even used. 2. Work as a semi cleanse if not better, mitigating all incoming dot damage until you exit stealth, whilst simultaneously allowing you to heal and not removing all debuffs allowing you to keep up the survival instincts passive and 3. Guarantees the next hit is a crit whilst usually CCing the target from stealth, all from the press of 1 button. People will say “x,y,z counters cloak” and that is true to some degree however not everyone is running around on a magplar or spin to win warden and nightblades all run an expedition so actually hitting them once and they then hit shade, expedition cloak and good luck finding them. For those who say detect pots or magelight/expert hunter, not only are those things incredibly inconsistent and small ranged but why should such a specific thing be used to counter realistically 1 skill on 1 class, using a detect pot for a measly 12 seconds of detect, whilst a stamblade can dump a tri pot and sprint for hills until he knows you are out. The absolute most major issue is that cloak is far to good as both an offensive combo starter and a defensive lifesaver, remove the quasi cleanse from the skill (as its not even listed as an effect on the skill)

It used to require a high degree of resource management and used to be what kept a fairly high skill gap between the ganking 2 button potato to best stamblade on the server to deal with both cloak and shade on a stam toon. However CP 2.0 has given everyone 150 raw mag regen from CP and easily a 15k+ mag pool, meaning especially with tri pots mag sustain on a stamblade is childs play allowing you to essentially spam cloak multiple times on a stam toon with little to no repercussions, in the old system a stamblade goes for 2 or 3 bad cloaks and if they aren’t good out of cloak they were toast, nowadays this is basically a non issue, avoiding the pure AOE builds is the only real concern now. If anything cloak should include some built in mechanic like streak to discourage the continued spamming of the skill and place more emphasis on mastering the use of shade, helping to seperate the good from the bad.

The next issue is the damage, I know many run 3 damage sets but its still just outright ridiculous. Not that I’m one for the pure tank meta by any means but its so difficult to counter getting a heavy attack, incap followed by relentless soon after with the damage it offers this patch. Even with a defensive set of in heavy because of things such as a guaranteed crit with an absurd load of crit damage stacking on a 75 cost ult that can easily hit 10-15k that then increases the damage against you by 20% for 6 seconds is just outright insane. How can 75 cost ult (can CC at 120) offering a killing potential halfway to onslaught be considered fair? Why do abilities like flawless dawnbreaker give a set weapon damage whilst this gives such a monstrous % in an update where major and minor beserk combined don’t even offer that?

(DK) Range closing gap abilities don't work

So when the Imperial City event was live I came across a new bug which didn't allow me to use closing gap abilites (Shield Charge and Ferocious Leap). I thought this was going to be fixed but today when I came back to eso and played in the Imperial City it happened again. I found a post a year ago that was adressing this issue but this still hasn't been fixed.

What do you consider the "End Game" in ESO?

$

People's definition of end game seem to be pretty vast..

For Some people it seems to be when the main quest is done.
For some it seems to be Vet trials and Dungeons
For others we're talking HM Trials.
For other yet it's Trial Trifecta runs and leaderboard scores.

I have heard some say housing due to how expensive it is, while other's insist PvP is the true end game.

What do you personly consider ESO endgame?
