I think we can all agree how weak mag is compared to stam. Light armor has too many drawbacks in terms of defense. the shield is just way too weak, and can easlily be bursted in One gcd if the incoming damage is high enough. I think that a buff to Shields and healing Ward could Close the gap between stam and mag a Little bit. That could Bring back the light armor mag dks (pre murkmire for those who remember) and magblades. Put a cap on it if you like. Maybe 20k Shields on a max mag build? I dont see any problems with big shields in the current meta with damage as high as it is right now

Magicka Detonation (and its Morphs) must change! (PvP)
Magicka Detonation and especially the Proximity Detonation morph is an absurdly overpowered skill to be using.
~ Its power is, in fact, unlimited or only limited by the number of people you can squeeze into an eight-meter space.
~ Yes, keep the skill for use but stop the absurdly high power (especially in PvP) by LIMITING the number the targets and/or limiting the upper damage percentage.
~ Currently the skill only says, "... Magic Damage to all enemies in the area. Each enemy within the bomb's radius increases the damage by 25%." THAT is the absurdity. There is no actual upper limit on the amount of damage ONE SKILL can cause leading to massive exploitation of this "simple" skill.
I SUGGEST::
1) Either limit the "number of targets" (example, Shrouded Daggers: "Fire a secret dagger from your sleeve that bounces up to 3 times to nearby enemies....") That skill self-limits to THREE TARGETS. Magicka Detonation (and morphs) has NO actual limit and therefore can and is exploited due to the skill's BAD DESIGN. Yes, BAD DESIGN!
2) Or, limit the "percentage of damage" to reach a max of, say, "100 percent" (which would be FOUR targets) which would still be useful but NOT a guaranteed mass casualty exploit by ONE PLAYER vs 10, 15, 20, etc. That is not skillful gameplay -- it is a clever exploitive use of a simple skill.
~~~
Everybody knows -- even those who use this skill every day -- that it is exploitive for ONE STEALTHED PLAYER to use this attack with impunity versus those who have NO WARNING or COUNTER against this attack.
For one player to kill 10 to 20 other players with a single attack using this badly designed, no-upper-limit skill is the OPPOSITE of skillful gameplay.
I, personally, never stand in a "scrum" of players due to the constant danger of "bombing." Nevertheless, I believe that merely "standing in a group" should NOT place players in mortal danger for stealthed "bombers" intent on mass carnage.
Thanks.
Crown For Gold Prices Doubled since Endeavors
I though they would go down....
PC/NA
From 80:1 when the Pandemic started
To 750:1![:open_mouth: :open_mouth:]()
I don't understand how the demand doubled since endeavors came out it was 350:1 a month ago....
Could it be that people are browsing the rewards and decided they want to get crates too and demand skyrockets ?
Should I believe the Conspiracy Theory of market manipulation ?
One thing is for sure now....
I rather work an extra of 2 hours a week and buy crowns to sell for gold, than spend 6 hours total in a week Crafting for the same amount of gold.
So on the PS5 Version I have to do all Trophies again?
Just wondering because I did not unlock all the trophies at the second I started the PS5 version of the game unlike some other games I won't name here for advertising reasons. Kinda sucks coz I got 100% on the PS4 Version of the game and now back to 0 on the PS5 Version and the DLCs....
Are there issues with the desktop site with the forums?
Since yesterday evening I havent been able to access the forums via desktop, only the mobile website. I’ve tried the usual things, clearing cache, rebooting, even the router had an overnight reboot just in case. I’ve tried chrome, safari and firefox on my mac, and safari on my ipad. On my ipad it only works if I switch to the mobile site.
Its not that the site errors out, it loads the background image (dark grey and black cracked leather look) but doesnt load any frames or menus. Photo below just in case it helps
Excuse typos please, I hate typing on my phone!
Haggling makes laundering more expensive
I've got the thieves guild skill line and got haggling to stage 4. This would make items worth 10% more, but does not apply to laundering.
However, when I checked today, it actually does make my items cost 10% more to launder.
I just bought the furnished house and in the loading screen it shows a clock in the style of all the furnishing but it is not in the house. Is that normal or bug?
If its not with the house why is it shown in the loading screen.
New here.
So is this the place where bad players, who want to be the best and never die, come to complain about how there is no balance, and if they die its because the class/skill/etc. needs to be nerfed?
Litterally came to this section to see others builds, tactics, advice, etc., and went a couple pages back and couldn't find a single post with anything helpful.
Unfortunately, this mentality is why PvP sucks and litterally why when you look up a guides/builds/stats for ESO on another website, if it's more than 6 months old, it no longer applies because it constantly changes... Why ZOS even listens to these complaints is beyond me...
ZoS PLEASE! You HAVE TO change the way Leads Work! (GIVE "CLUES")
Leads should work like we are actually following a lead.
Instead, they currently work like we are doing random, barely related things, and seeing if the computer roles less than 3 on a 20 sided die.
HERE IS MY SPECIFIC SUGGESTION FOR CHANGING THIS
Currently leads are discovered in two ways -
Either type is on a find/don't find system... we either make the rng 20-sided die roll, or we don't. Black and white.
Change it PLEASE to this:
INCLUDE "CLUES"
Whatever the chance is for finding the lead, (call that chance "x")... we should have twice that chance ("x2") to find a CLUE about the lead.
How clues work...
FOR "CLICK SOMETHING" Leads
FOR "KILL SOMETHING" LEADS
NOTES...
There is also a type of lead that is found by killing non-elite enemies of some type or somewhere. We could treat this as "click something" or "kill something" i don't personally care, either way would work.
- click something somewhere (ex: from a water-node in shadowfen)
- kill something somewhere (ex: from a world-boss in blackwood)
How clues work...
FOR "CLICK SOMETHING" Leads
- Finding the first clue creates a QUEST
- The quest puts an AREA MARKER on the map
- Having this quest and searching for the lead within that AREA marker gives x4 chance to find a second clue and x2 chance to find the lead
- Finding a second clue puts an aura on your head when you are within the quest area (a.la psijic portal quests)
- When you have that aura you have x4 chance to find the lead.
FOR "KILL SOMETHING" LEADS
- The first clue cretes a QUEST and tells you a specific weapon to use. Having this quest and killing the objective with that weapon equipped (not even active, just equipped), you have x2 chance to find the lead and x4 chance to find a second clue
- The second clue tells you a specific set to wear (you only need to have 1 piece of it equipped) if you have the quest and kill the objective with that set and that weapon you have x4 chance to find the lead.
There is also a type of lead that is found by killing non-elite enemies of some type or somewhere. We could treat this as "click something" or "kill something" i don't personally care, either way would work.
Lead Drops
Why have I been cursed? It must the fact I have no soul...idk but 23 times running Cradle of Shadows to get the lead drop for Gaze of Sithis is not even funny anymore. Who ever in the hist milk drinkin, mother of Breton dog lover would make this happen? I curse you a thousand cuts from a baandari dagger! You no good for nothing thinking 23 times isnt enough to run the damn dungeon for a lead drop.
Top DPS build for companion?
Has anyone actually tested which build does the most dps for companions? I can’t seem to find anything.
There are multiple builds online ranging from lightning staff/mages guild light armor versus all medium armor/bow build.
Assuming you’re in all purple aggressive gear, what build outperforms?
Both were shown in separate events, the work on spellcrafting appeared to have been mostly done and group mounts obviously had the banning issue but they have had time to work out the kinks and rebalance skills for spellcrafting. Can we get an update on either of these things? I was really looking forward to both of them and I am about to give up hope
Scaly Cloth Scraps - The Grind
Scaly Cloth Scraps. I'm seeing them in my dreams by now. I'm seeing them everywhere.
But honestly, I can't help but ask the question, who thought it was a good idea to require -50- Scaly Cloth Scraps for a -costume- (Thrafey Debutant Gown) that is practically a cosmetic you're meant to obtain for fun and not kill yourself on the grind?
To elaborate, I'm several hours in on the grind thus far and haven't gotten 10 of them, the abysmal spawn rates of mobs and low enemy count doesn't help either, which further contributes to this grind being even more non rewarding than it had been in the first place. Just imagine, you sit there for a few hours, think to yourself, "YAY! Got 5 Scaly Cloth Scraps." and then look towards the counter of the 45 that you still need and you suddenly feel like wanting to die. (Yes, I know there's plenty of other things to do in the game, but that doesn't change the fact this grind is absurd.)
I remember back in the days of Elsweyr, for example the Peryite Skeevermaster costume or whatever it was called, needed only 10 plague drenched fabrics, which felt fair and fun. Even if this dress required around 15-20, I would do it because it wouldn't be a big deal than. To put into perspective my frustrations even further with this one, imagine that you and a friend want to get it. That means you require at least 100 Scaly Cloth Scraps and no way in bloody hell I'm sitting in the Silent Halls for at least a hundred hours -if- we get lucky.
At the end of the day, it really feels as if you're just trying to extend playtime of players with things like these(which you probably are.) But the one problem with that is, most normal people that aren't hit on the head for grinding(no offense to all the grinders of course, if anything I find your willfulness to grind genuinely impressive), are just going to look at that and /ignore.
Many will probably say that this is such a small thing to whine over, but yea. It's the small things that add up and before you realize, you're swamped by them.
TLDR; Extremely low drop rates, high number(50) needed of the item to make the costume, abysmal spawn rates and low enemy count contribute to a largely pointless and extremely tedious grind in a place that isn't fun whatsoever.
Housing experience for Blackwood
Elsweyr was really a sweet spot for housing for me. The drop rate was good, I farmed a lot and got some good plans, and had enough duplicates to sell and buy the ones I didn’t have. I bought Potentate’s Retreat and decorated it decently within a reasonable amount of time.
Western Skyrim and Markarth - well, the insistence by some in the housing community here that we get new plans later in the year means that Vampiric and Markarth plans are expensive due to low drop rate and no random furnishing envelopes available. I still can’t fully decorate Stone Eagle Aerie. I spent 2 mil gold on the last plan I bought and the prices are even higher now.
Blackwood looks even worse. I’m not planning to buy any houses, because there are few places to farm furnishing plans and I only have a few blues and no purples so far. I can’t make any gold selling the few green furnishing plans I find, which means I can’t buy any, either. Plus, I’m still trying to buy 2 mil gold + plans for Markarth. In addition, despite doing the Blackwood daily quests every day on my main toon, and also on one alt the last few days, I only have 3 Ivory Brigade motif pages so far in what, 23 days? I think I’ve only got a few of the style mats as well.
Please don’t strangle the life out of the housing community this way. We need reasonable drop rates for both mats and furnishing plans to be able to enjoy the houses we spent so many crowns on to purchase. Don’t make the countless hours we on spend farming be for naught.
