Lying about your target skeleton dps test.

Too many people do it. There are a select few who back it up using screenshots. But when people say they pull 40k+ dps in a short amount of time only running julianos and lich, I call bularky.

So this dude running the same build as mine, which is julianos and lich, he said he pulled over 50k dps. If course it's b.s. cause it's my PvP build and you can't pull off much dps with that.

So I ask for screenshot and offered to let him use my target skeleton. He kept dodging the subject.

Have you caught anyone lying about their dps time?

ZOS! If you want a healthy pvp game environment take these words seriously. Make power of light dodgeable, make cliffracer dodgeable, make curse blockable again make endless fury dodgeagble, and also make soul assault either interuptable or at least let us cc our opponents while they cast soul assault. Come on zos its not that hard to see what skills hinder the games pvp environment. Also gap closers from stealth are still not fixed. The bug is still being exploited are we going to wait another 6 months before the fix arrives ?

Dead horse under the bridge in Arenthia with Troll that disappears

Related quest (but not required): Over the edge, Reaper's March.

When you approach the troll that eats a horse carcass under the bridge in Arenthia (near Wayshrine), Reaper's March, he will totally disappear. The troll will reappear when you move away from that place.
Also when you are at the horse, there's "Examine" mark, but hitting "E" does nothing. The whole quest seems strange, because the soggy bag items and quest arrows will also disappear/reappear based on the status of a troll, whether he's invisible or not.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but this quest & place does not look right. Pure trolling. ;)

This dungeon needs to be fixed. on the last boss, we constantly keep getting extra lag. The boss spawns more and more mobs. The room is way to damn small to have all the aoe damage, plus with the mobs all together. I honestly don't know why you guys would think that was a good idea. My screen had froze and people could still hear me in chat. I had to close the app and relog in. Also some of the mobs hit way harder than the actually bosses. Also the text warning for when the boss shouts is covered by way to much aoe damage and the text only displays for about 3 seconds and disappears..i mean seriously why the hell did you guys even add all of that nonsense?

Your Environments! Definitely in the right direction ZOS!

30GB update later I log in to walk into nFH (Falkreath Hold) to see what it looks like and wonder if I could somehow solo it carefully on my StamBlade PvE main. No. No I can't. Even on normal the difficulty is annoyingly hard. Not so much "impossible" hard, just REALLY annoying. What's up with these new mob attacks anyway? If you're not being knocked back you're being thrown off balance, then after you recover you're knocked back again. But whatever.

ZOS what are you doing, this game is usually kinda ugly WHY IS THIS DUNGEON SO PRETTY??

THIS is what I'd been holding out for in visuals with new content. I realize this is incredibly linear and compact so the quality is amped up because of that but LOOK AT THIS. The terrain detailing, the sheer amount of vegetation and flora, the distinct representation of a legit wilderness! I'm nerding out so hard over a well made little section of woods in a Group Dungeon this is stupid. If only you guys made everywhere look like this. It's exactly what pulls me away from the achievement hunting and the daily chores. This is what makes me desire to just walk around and explore. To take in the sights as I find out whats behind those trees or on the other side of that ridge or around that boulder. This, is beautiful. But the sad reality is this kind of quality will only exist in small instances such as Dungeons cause I'm positive replicating this level of detail to the overworld questing zones would take monumental effort not to mention require a heavy performance hit.

But regardless, ZOS you've made a gorgeous looking environment for Falkreath Hold and I REALLY appreciate that, even if I can't enjoy it as much as I'd like due to it being in sorta difficult group content. And I just wanted to share my feelings on the matter.

....oh. And inside the town of Falkreath itself lags like nothing else. Might wanna look into that.

A question about Guild Dailies

Just a quick question for you guys about the Daily guild quests. A few days ago I started doing the daily Fighters and Undaunted guild quests. Each day since they have been the same, Daily Dolmens in Stonefalls for FG, and placing wards in the Corpse Garden for UG. I had presumed this had to do with my Guild Level, but I have level'd my FG quite a bit since, and am still gettig the same. Are they location based? I'm picking up the quests in Deshaan, if I get them from somewhere else will they send me somewhere different? Or do I just need to continue the grind?

Thanks in advance!

Elemental Fury – PvE Heavy Attack DK Build (HotR Ready)

Do you play a Magicka Dragonknight? Do you want something else than the usual 5 BSW/ 4 Aether/ 2 Grothdarr/ 1 vMA Inferno Setup and still be raidmaterial?

Then this guide is for you! The Goal of this Build is to provide strong DPS on a Dragonknight while using shock and fire damage and Heavy Attacks with a Lightning Staff. I’ve tried several builds that use lightning staff heavy attacks on a DK, and while they are very survivable, sustainable and very easy to play, the single target DPS mostly suffered and I’ve never managed to get past the 30k sustained single target DPS parse (selfbuffed).

This build does exactly that while using only AoE skills, and in the right hands and raid setup, it can surpass 40k Single target DPS easily while giving your group a lot of utility that Dragonknights have. I’ve had a breeze in vDSA (currently #30 PC EU, 45234 score) and every vet trial with this, including vHoF, vMoL and Craglorn Hardmode Trials, no death runs for the Hist-Dungeons etc. I even got the Duelist Title with the vMA version. This build is flexible to the extent that you can do both a Melee or Ranged Version, depending on what you are assigned to within your group or what the dungeon or fight requires you to do. For solo play, the build requires minor tweaks, but I added a vMA build for people who'd like to get their safe weekly and the DK flawless conqueror as easy as possible.

Let's go through the advantages and disadvantages that this build has:

procon.png

Selfbuffed Stats:

See listed below under the respective Setup Section.

Race:

Altmer or Dunmer. Dunmer gets 3% more out of the fire abilities than Altmer, and Altmer gets 2% more out of the shock abilities, so it doesn't make that much of a difference. I prefer Altmer for the regen and 1% more max magicka, plus you get better results in vMA and you have enough stamina due to undaunted infiltrator. Everything else is a DPS loss, after those two, Breton would be third.

Gear:

To understand the nature of heavy attacks, it is important to know that the Flat Damage Buff of the vMA lightning Staff Buffs every Tick of Lightning Staff Heavy Attacks and adds like 5k DPS to the Build. In HotR, multiple Combinations of Trait, 5-piece set and Mundus Stone became viable, so I'll list the two best ones i found via testings below:

9NFXxdg.png

Combination #1 (Julianos+Infallible Aether):

This one is Basic, unconditional Damage that gives the highest upfront burst and consistent damage. I prefer this for vMA and DSA.

Combination #2 (Burning Spellweave + Martial Knowledge):

This one is the highest Damage overall due to the additional Burning effect you get from BSW adn the additional spell damage from Martial Knowledge is just as good as the Minor Slayer, but it has a proc based set in it. So for example in vMA or DSA, i often only use Blockade and heavy Attacks to kill low health mobs and BSW will not proc often enough to justify it.

Basically, all combinations of these 4 Sets will do fine for you, easiest to get will certainly be Julianos+Martial Knowledge, as you dont have to farm a bit for it and the Staffs can be bought.

As far as the Mundus Stone is concerned, you will want to choose either the Lover or the Apprentice, based on the spell penetration level you have available to you.

The I want to learn vMA Setup:

Heres a full flawless run with the old version of this Build, but it works pretty much as in the video with the above setup:

The I want to nuke vMA and Off-Balance Group Support Setup:
offbalance.png

Heres a full flawless run with the off-balance group support setup version of this Build:

image
The Key here is the Synergy between Off-balance and Flame Lash. Flame Lash hits like a truck, heals you Back to full immediately and is FREE to cast against offbalance enemies. So only cast it when it procs, put Burning embers on another enemy. No other heals needed in vMA. If you want to learn the Arena i still recommend the above setup as it's easier to play.

Bars with Guard
XUJwJ3p.png

Main Bar (Lightning Staff): Harness Magicka, Burning Embers, Engulfing Flames, Stalwart Guard, Inner Light, Thunderous Rage

Back Bar (Dual Wield): Molten Armaments, Eruption, Elemental Blockade, Stalwart Guard, Inner Light, Shooting Star

Bars without Guard
9RU6rBG.png

Main Bar (Lightning Staff): Harness Magicka, Burning Embers, Engulfing Flames, Flames of Oblivion, Inner Light, Thunderous Rage

Back Bar (Dual Wield): Molten Armaments, Eruption, Elemental Blockade, Rearming Trap (Flex Spot), Inner Light, Shooting Star

Solo/vMA Bars

Learning Setup:
vmadkskills.png

Main Bar (Lightning Staff): Harness Magicka, Coagulating Blood (i highly recommend Flame Lash instead), Elemental Blockade, Dragonscales, Inner Light, Shooting Star/Thunderous Rage

Back Bar (Restoration Staff): Healing Ward, Molten Armaments, Rapid Regenaration, Eruption, Inner Light, Shooting Star

Off-Balance Setup for Solo:
vmadkneuvma.png

Main Bar (Charged Spinner/IA/MD Staff): Harness Magicka , Burning Embers, Flame Lash, Dragonscales, Inner Light, Thunderous Rage (For 8% Destro passive on this bar)

Back Bar (vMA Lightning Staff): Harness Magicka, Molten Armaments, Elemental Blockade, Eruption, Inner Light, Shooting Star

You can put all you want on the flex spots, I like to have a shield ready on the main bar and chains on the back bar to help chain in adds, but you could also put mages guild skills there to get additional max magicka. I use Thunderous Rage, as it is the most powerful DPS-Ultimate right now and got buffed by ~2.5%. I mostly weave in light DW attacks right before going back to th front bar to activate your SD/Crusher glyphs and thus empower the first 1 1/2 heavy attacks and blockade with it.

Lets go through possible skills you could put on the flex spots:

Dampen Magic: Strong shield, your emergency button i case you don't trust your group enough to go without shield.

Harness Magicka: Weaker than Dampen Magic, but helpful when you get a lot of elemental damage in.

Unrelenting Grip: In any case you have a non-dk tank (without swarmmother) or just have a lot of ranged trash to chain in.

Elemental Drain: In case the healer doesn't run it, you can put this on your front bar.

Scalding rune: Procs Illambris' fire version, but is not as good as eruption.

Dragonscales: Cool when you have a lot of ranged things that can't all be taunted by your tank.

CP Setup
cp.png

The 75 Points in Thaumaturge make room for the exploiter passive, that grants us 10% damage on EVERYTHING when the enemy is off balance. The Destro Ultimate concusses enemies and Elemental Blockade sets them off balance, so you can use the combination to get another 10% damage while the destro ultimate is active+70% more heavy attack damage against off balance enemies, plus the 10% for the time when blockade/illambris concuss enemies. Due to the heavy attack return, i use 34 points in Tenacity to unlock the windrunning passive for 2% more runnign speed and the sustain is awesome.

Rotation:

The Rotation is as easy as effective: Find someone to guard, Magicka DDs like the free minor force.

Due to the 39s duration of Molten Armaments, you only need to recast it every two full rotation cycles.

Throw in your Ultimate (Meteor/Thunderous Rage/Standard of Might) between the second and third heavy attack when it is ready.

Eruption, meteor, Burning Embers and engulfing flames proc the fire version of Illambris, while your heavies, thunderous rage and blockade proc the lightning version, so you get a great uptime on both, especially with a few adds to bosses around.

Target skeleton parses (alone, selfbuffed with Stalwart Guard, without Ele Drain):

LBuVaVB.jpg

sNs0vLX.jpg

Keep in mind that these are Robust target dummy parses. I can get more on a normal one, but i usually test on the big one so one can see the consistent base DPS that you can get in trials and factor in Sustain rather then a bursty 3m parse.

Keep in mind that every single ability and attack except burning embers is full aoe here, and that i suck at remembering rotations and screwed them up quite often.

An issue that this build has is blockcasting. E.g. In vHRC, I usually have between 39k and 43k dps until the starburst phase kicks in, and you can't blockcast heavy attacks, so the dmg drops significantly when you can't channel. Same holds for the ground atronach in vAA.

If you want to try it out, I recommend farming the lamia boss with the pet snake (slikhlenia or something) in arx corinium for sweetsong, a unique precise sword of the undaunted infiltrator, then farming the first boss for legs and a unique necklace and then going for a ring of the set in chests.

Big shoutout to all the Peeps who let me use those weird Builds in Endgame Content :*

The build is constantly in development, so any advice in how to improve it further (while staying outside the box please, I know what is BiS on mag dks) is welcome! I will update it continously.

Hello everyone! How are all of you? I am a new player and I have this question I hope yall dont mind helping me out with:

Is it possible to Max out Crafting skills, and available passives, abilities, morph, racial, combat traits (from mages guild fighters guild dark brotherhood etc etc) using just skill points alone? (Basically, max out every trait using skill points)

Is there sufficient skill points in the game to allow me to do so?

Is there any guide/reference/website I can read up on this? I tried finding sources from websites but they all give different answers

Many thanks!

General PvP tip for beginners

$
0
0
Right. Uh. I am not by any means the best PvP player, but I felt the need to start this because some players are just struggling with this whole PvP thing. Just two tips that will help YOU out and the faction for which you're playing.

First thing is that STOP wearing Divines/Infused if you're not a magicka class that can mitigate damage with shields. Even with the magicka builds, Impenetrable is still the preferred trait over Divines/Infused. Trust me. We've all been there, thinking, "Whaa? If I can cut these bad boys down before they can cut me down, I'll survive yo." Yeah. No. You aren't going to tear down an experienced stam dk tanky damage build with a Divines/Infused build. Unless you yourself are super skilled and can handle Divines/Infused just fine, but I doubt that.

Second, please STOP with the bow light attacks. I see this so many times. Tap. Tap. Tap. Just no. That's the ESO equivalent of shooting one bullet at a time in a FPS game where you can shoot unrealistically in full auto with extreme precision. You have a skill bar for a reason. Two of them in fact. Make sure you don't set both bars for offensive, because you gotta get defensive at times.

You don't even have to chase the meta. I don't chase the meta either, and I try to keep my build and playstyle unique, which will limit my ability to fight some players. But please keep in mind that if you're a magicka build, you DON'T need weapon damage as you need magicka and spell damage, and as a stamina build, you do NOT need spell damage. Face it. Hybrid is nearly impossible in this game. Most "hybrid" builds I've seen are either flat out stam build with a magicka ability slotted, or a straight up mag build with a 2h ult. And you certainly do not need, as a wannabe stamblade damage build, 30k health unless you've theory-crafted long and hard about it and that it actually works. I don't know if it's because I main AD, but I mainly see these players on AD. Won't mention names, but someone was asking in zone chat why she couldn't kill a stam dk. Asked what her weap damage was sitting at. "2k" she said. 2-freakin-k. No. Not to mention that she was rocking divines armor pieces which weren't complement set pieces, which she received through QUESTS. Please, don't even try to make that excuse "Oh, you know, some of us don't really put the time or effort into this game as it is just a hobby" because this is how you sound like, "Yeah, I love basketball. Let me just go out to the court and watch everyone else play while I just bounce the ball." And then when it's your turn to play you don't actually know how to play. Teammates ask, "Yo, didn't you say you love basketball?" "Yeah I do. I just love watching it." Up till there is okay because having a hobby doesn't necessarily mean you're good at it. But when your teammates are trying to teach you how to play, you need to listen. Otherwise, it won't take Sherlock Holmes to know why nobody is inviting you to his/her group. Wouldn't it be a lot better for yourself and your team if you at least learned to dribble and pass? Like you don't even have to go Kobe or LeBron (or Michael).

The 'Almost' Immortal Warrior PVE tank build

My tank build for PVE dungeons AND trials. It has been in the making for a very long time and finally ready to present. This build has tanked everything (including Rakkhat although he didn't die that day lol).

You "CAN" use this in PVP if you are leading a zerg or griefing the hell out of people with stuns roots etc, just have to switch off the ranged taunt for claws and you can pretty much hold on to a target all of the time while stunning them with vamp heal/ferocious leap, and avoiding snares and cc...its really annoying! Your damage shields means you cant be crit hit, your vampire mist means you take less damage and immune to cc, your heals are huge and you heal FROM incoming magic projectiles....bring on the crystal shards:)

Ill post how to run this in pvp with a couple of changes this week IF people are interested. ENJOY!!

3 Practical suggestions for improving Cyrodiil

$
0
0
Suggestions followed by reasoning.

1. Implement an hourly reward system based on the hourly point tics.

One of the problems in cyrodiil is the lack of incentive to play the map. AP can be better achieved in other ways. The end of campaign rewards is too far and few and too small to truly motivate people to play the map. Everyone who plays the map does it for love of the game, probably knowing that they could earn greater rewards doing other things. Make it so that each score update two things are rewarded. First, reward having the most points of the three alliances. Second, reward an alliance who has improved their hourly tic score by a certain impressive amount of points. This will cause players to want to gain and hold territory rather than AP farming and flipping keeps back and forth.

2. Make the campaigns end with a bang, not a whimper. (MY BIGGEST SUGGESTION!!)

Do SOMETHING to make the end of a campaign exciting. Right now, end of campaigns are meaningless. At a certain point a comeback becomes impossible, so everybody is killing time waiting for the next campaign knowing that each keep capture or defense is meaningless beyond personal AP. Make something happen in the end that is crucial. It could be as simple has a small window of all score objectives are worth 10 times the amount for the last 5% of the campaign duration, or it could be something as spectacular as special map objectives with huge payoffs. Let the team going into the event with the lead have the advantage, but make a window at the end of the campaign to where the war climaxes with a bang and huge reversals are possible, rather than whimper out into boredom. Make me plan my schedule around the exciting campaign event because its that awesome!

3. Restrict people to one siege weapon.

Saved this controversial one for last. But part of the problem in Cyrodiil (depending on your view) is how fast a SMALL well organized team can take a keep. I could swear I've seen them take down a keep door in 2 minutes, but time perception might be skewed in battle. I am all for a good organized team winning. Organization and skill ought to carry the day. The problem is not that it can carry the day, but in how fast it can sweep a map. Right now, a team that really knows what it is doing, can have five people manning ballistas and simultaneously basically fully manning a battering ram. Throw in an outer ring of five people double or triple manning catapults/ballistaes, and you can have a ten man team possibly maxing a siege weapon cap on a door that is already too easily caved in. A perfectly organized team can do this so fast that you can turn away for mere moments and the castle is popped. You can go do a farm defense and find that two castles and an outpost behind you has flipped. Once again, problem is not that a good team can do it, but in how fast. The end result is that staying in a castle to defend it (assuming its not your last emperor keep) is strategically foolish. You can do too much running from keep to keep. We have guild log on, sweep the map in an hour, and log off, because its not worth it to hold ground when another group is not set up to do the sweeping. You could fix this by buffing keep health, but then you make it too tedious for unorganized groups to try and take a keep. Best solution, one siege weapon manning at a time. Simply make the siege weapons not reload on their own perhaps.

End result of these three things will be people actually playing to take and hold territory, not merely to capture and move on. Cheers.

Full DW build

Does anyone have a build that utilises DW on both bars? I can hit 21k dps using dw on both bars, no ultimate, with this patch now thanks to lover mundus. My gear was all crit or weap dmg, so having 4004 pen now is awesome. Plus i did 5/5 nmg backbar for that set proc, which carries over to main bar which I heavy attack with 5/5 hundings. The proc carries most of the time through at least half of front bar rotation. I run a stam dk.
I am not looking to hit 30k dps, that would be nice but not my goal. I just want to play a melee character and not have to use bow. Does anyone else do this or have tried it at all?
