Public Service Announcement from Razum-dar Regarding Major Changes to ESO

$

Razum-dar here! It is good to see you again, my friend. This one knows you still want to hear the story of Queen Ayrenn, the drunken schoolmarm, and the purple velvet dress. But now is not the time. The work of a Queen's Eye never ends, and it must come first. Listen carefully to this one, now.

NwYefSYy.jpg

Soon and very soon, there will be a major change to our Elder Scrolls world. In the new world order, when one of your characters levels up, they will receive a special reward. You will only get these rewards for leveling up. Razum-dar is sorry to say that they will not be retroactive in any way, so you may have to start a new character to take advantage of them all.

One of these rewards is the Brown Sorrel Horse mount, which you will get upon reaching the tenth level. Once the new world order comes, this will be the only way to get this mount. So if you want it and do not plan to level up a new character, this one suggests you buy it now from a stablemaster for 10,000 gold.

There are other rewards this one thinks you may be interested in: bank space upgrade, bag space upgrade, Outfit token, costume, non-combat pet, six crown crates, storage container for your home, 20,000 gold, and much more. Razum-dar has a full list, yes, although it may change slightly in the coming days. This one likes you, so he will allow you to take a peak.

I tried to remake the costume of Harkon featured in Skyrim. It looks a little too heavy, but it was the closest I could get with the in-game armor.

Unreleased furnishing recipes

There are several furnishings you can craft on the PTS that don't have recipes that drop anywhere on the live servers.

Teapot, Common
Plaque, Large
Plaque, Small
Plaque, Standard

It would be great to have these released. Right now the only way to obtain them is through the Crown Store.

Weight - 5-1-1 vs 5-0-2

I'm bringing this to the forums because i'd like a definitive answer.

All build guides (there abouts) recommend the 5-1-1 setup because you can take full advantage of undaunted passives as well as those for each of the armour skill lines. Thats all well and good but in my own testing stats are generally better if you choose the 5-0-2 option. Better health, better resists being the main point.

What do you run and why do you run it? And is 5-1-1 really the best option overall?

To fill you in on the smaller details i'm a Dunmer DK. I run 5 BSW, 4 MK, 2 Ilambris with double shock staves. All gear is divines and i'm CP690.

Running a 5-0-2 setup my states are as follows:

Magicka - 39k
Health - 18.8k
Stamina - 10.5k

Mag Recovery - 750
Health Recovery - 180
Stamina Recovery - 580

Spell Damage 4396
(With BSW and Weapon Damage glyph proc. 3979 with just BSW proc)
Spell Crit - 45.7%
Weapon Damage - 1977
Weapon Crit - 32%

Spell Resist - 19.9k
Physical Resist - 12.7k
(Note that these will be higher if you have Volatile Armour on ad Active)

I'll add that this is my back bar with a Nirn MK shock staff. Front bar has higher magicka due to Shooting Star being slotted.

Addressing Blazing Shield changes

Blazing Shield (Sun Shield morph): Reduced the amount of damage done by this morph to 33/36/39/42% of the damage absorbed by the shield, down from 50/51/52/53%.
Developer Comments:
Spoilerhide
Blazing Shield builds have proven to be extremely effective due to being able to stack Health to improve both their survivability and damage done. We’ve reduced the effectiveness of this ability so that there is more of an opportunity cost to having so much Health.
"

This is seriously the biggest problem they see in the game? It is already the hardest style to play to get any kills or AP on. The only anti-zerg skill in the game that can only kill anybody if there is no healers around. Having a lot of health does not mean you are a tank, there are a lot of unkillable tanks running around with less health, but there is no outrage there because just about everyone benefits from that, but the 1% of people who benefit from Blazing Shield builds are being made even harder to play because the 99% of zerglings on the forums complain about it.

Just about every decent players understanding of blazing shield is that it is an anti-zerg skill and people that are attacking them in large numbers should die in theory. In reality the more people on us the less damage we do because Breath of Life and Healing springs is ridiculously good even with the patch it will still be good.

If zos at least gave people attacking a blazing shield major defile or something I would be happy with that because we do zero damage with the presence of a mindless zerg healer

I also wish ZOS treated this forum like Blizzard forums, as in ignoring people who are whining and listening to those who actually have realistic changes or viewpoints of the game, people like me or Fengrush or Sypher are shunned by Zos for having their viewpoints while people crying here are winning, because if Blizzard did that to Starcraft or World of Warcraft the game would be broken because irrational people come up with irrational changes.

Will you buy the Summerset Chapter if it doesn't come with a new class/spell crafting?

$

I feel like we're all expecting necromancer with summerset, however I've heard several players argue that it's too soon after warden to be getting a new class.
Personally, I feel like the only reason they got away with not including MW with ESO+ was the warden, cause as much as I love MW, it's pretty much Orsinium sized and not really better in terms of content.
I included spell crafting in this, cause even tho it ran into a dead end, i feel like an Altmer chapter is kind of the perfect place to implement it if they wanted to.

So will you buy the Summerset Chapter if it doesn't come with a new class/spell crafting?

If you were a Dragon Priest, what would your name be?

We've run into enough Dragon Priests now to have some idea of their naming conventions, and thus far, most of the Priests have had names we can translate from Dovah:

Hevnoraak - Brutal (???)
Konahrik - Warlord
Krosis - Sorrow
Morokei - Glorious
Nahkriin - Vengeance
Otar - ???
Rahgot - Anger
Vokun - Shadow
Volsung - Horror (???)
Akiirdal - ???
Arthosiis - ???
Haldriin - ???
Korthor - ???
Vosis - Opposite of (???)
Ahzidal - Bitter Destroyer
Dukaan - Dishonor
Vahlok - Guardian
Zahkriisos - Sword Blood? Finite Kill Blood?
Miraak - Portal
Zaan - (non-Thu'um) shout

So if you were a Dragon Priest, what would your name be? What would it mean?

Dear developers,

PvP simply does not work. I understand you are busy creating new content but how about making the old one work? I'm puzzled why noone ever reported to you for years that Cyrodiil Vivec has lag to the point of not being playable at all. Sorry about bringing you the bad news

Moar Styles!

The outfit system is awesome, so many new looks to make. But there are some amazing styles that have existed in game for some time that aren't included in the system. Some of them arent normally accessible anymore, making them perfect for the outfit system:
c6xuv18s6pml.png
This is the old fashioned Celestial Destruction Staff. Before the style was made into a Motif, the Destruction Staves had a different appearance than the Restoration staves. The restoration style was chosen for the motif, so this style is no longer available.

hir2yw5cvqmf.png
This is Volar's Crescent Dagger, a unique weapon that used to drop from Dark Anchors. Since these types of rewards no longer drop, they are now no longer available.

zftmm4auon0h.png
This is Volar's Crescent Staff, just like the dagger it used to drop from Dark Anchors. Fun fact: this staff is the same style as Abnur Tharn's staff.

Who else has cool unavailable/unique items that they'd like to see in the outfit system? Post pictures here!

CURRENT STATE OF GATHERING MATS IN ESO

$

0
I quit playing ESO not long after One Tamriel began. I know there are many benefits to having all the zones scale to the character's level, however; there are some significant downsides, also.

For me, there were 2 main negatives to the One Tamriel update:
1. I enjoyed going back to lower level zones to finish off content that I wasn't able to do at lower levels and doing some of the 'harder' achievements. I can live with this change since
the benefit is that we all can play together in any zone and it forces us to group more. I can deal with and adjust to that!
2. We can only gather mats that correlate to our level of crafting. THIS change is unacceptable to crafters IMO. Many people enjoy gathering and crafting for friends/guildmates as I do.
This change has resulted in having an abundance of higher end mats at the expense of NO lower level mats. I spent MANY hours leveling up my crafting skills and it makes ZERO
sense that I am now unable to farm mats to craft lower level items. This change has affected my enjoyment of ESO, so I have a suggestion for the devs.

MY SUGGESTION FOR GATHERING MATS:
There is a simple solution to this! Leave the mats in certain levels just the way they were previously. For example, in Auridon, the beginning zone for Altmer, people can ONLY
gather the first tier of crafting mats: i.e. jute, iron ore, maple wood and the first levels of enchanting runes and waters for Alchemy.

I don't see any reason why this isn't possible to do and it would ensure that lower level mats are more available to all. Players will still be able to sell their lower level mats in the
guild traders since many high level players have more gold to spend than time to gather mats.

Guild of Adventure - recruiting (PvE)

Who are we?
We're the Guild of Adventure, a bunch of adventurers exploring Tamriel in search of adventures, fun, and challenges. We're an active community with representation in ESO, GW2 and Overwatch. Our ESO membership currently stands at 330 members. Inactives are cleared out from time to time, so the bulk are active. Our focus is to enjoy the game within a community of friends. Our Discord is pretty active (at the time I'm writing this ~100 online).

What do we do?
We cover a broad spectrum of activities:
  • Weekly normal trials (Fridays and Saturdays)
  • Weekly Imperial Sewer runs, rotating the factions, trying to get that elusive skin and scamp.
  • Weekly forays into Cyrodil - yeah, we're total noobs at PvP, but it can still be fun! Our home faction for PvP runs is DC.
  • Figuring out new content - we're planning on attempting the new trial on Sunday, and will do it every Sunday until we're comfortable with it.
  • Weekly Craglorn delve and boss events
  • A weekly Dueling event
  • Weekly Dungeon roulette - the dice will determine whether it will be first/third person, whether food may be used, whether it is naked, whether pots are to be consumed....
  • Weekly World Boss hunts
  • Weekly Guild Raffle

What about vet trials?
At the moment our vet trials are on hold. The guild has done all Craglorn trials on vet, but our signup for last Saturday was 4 DDs short. While we're crazy enough to have done nSO without a tank, we prefer to be a bit more serious about vTrials, so we don't do the event unless we have a full group signed up. DDs have to post DPS parses, at least 18k. Discord is mandatory for vTrials. That said, we'd rather take an 18k DPS team player, than a 28k DPS who becomes agitated when mechanics are explained. 28k DPS team players are of course also welcome!

Our conduct
We're not pros. We have players with heaps of experience, who have every Dungeon or Trial achievement there is, and we have players who bought the game last weekend. We teach and learn from each other, but we don't tolerate verbal abuse of a tank who missed that HA, a DD who died in the red, or a heal whos healing was a bit below par. When we go to Cyro we respect our enemies as they kill us, and when we kill them. When we have a bone to pick with a DD who arrives in a vet dungeon with PvP gear and 4k DPS, we discuss it in a mature and civil way; we don't scream, shout, throw blame or mud.

Timezones
Most of our events are at 19h00-21h00 time of the day, BST. There are exceptions, but that's when most of our members are online.

How to join?

@ZOS - PLEASE make "Patriots's Blood" or "Elven Gore" red dye permanently available to us!!!!

Title is self-explanatory. Keeping locked away as a once a year crown store item is really unfair (yes, I know - just like life) - ESPECIALLY as there isn't a single other vivid red in the game...

The point when someone crosses over into the "no-life ESO player" category?

$
0
0
In numerous other threads, people have made reference to the "no-life ESO player." This is a special category of player and does not incorporate the notion of casual, non-casual, elite, hardcore, friendly, unfriendly, or what-have-you. It is neither an insult nor a compliment, although it seems to be often used as an insult on these forums. But rather, it is a descriptive category. After considering many of your posts, it seems these are the criteria that qualify someone for the category of "no-lifer" (but note that failing to meet the criteria does not necessarily mean exclusion from the category):
  • Someone who plays over 25 hours per week, which is more hours than a part-time job;
  • Whose game-playing causes a material decrease in the amount of sleep he or she gets; AND
  • Who forgoes some in-real-life events, other hobbies, or relationships so as to allow more time for ESO.
If someone meets all three of the above criteria, they are likely to be in the "no-lifer" category. But note that failing to meet all three criteria does not necessarily mean exclusion from the category.

And again, this is a descriptive category for academic purposes. It is neither a compliment nor an insult.

Let's discuss your thoughts.

Official-Forum-Alith_Logo_v3.png

Greetings Tamriel Citizens!

Alith Legion is a friendly, social and mature, international PvX guild playing on the EU megaserver siding with the Ebonheart Pact since the start of “The Elder Scrolls Online”. Formally known as Alith - see our original ESO forum recruiting post here - we have rebranded ourselves to Alith Legion but still continue to promote the same core values as before:

No Pressure - No Drama - No Stress - Just Fun & Friendship!

We have a very strong membership base in ESO (currently over 450 active members) and we are a multi-cultural, English speaking PvX guild with a very mature & respectful membership base as well as having a social, fun loving atmosphere with the belief that MMO’s are only played to be enjoyed. We strongly discourage drama and conflict and never dictate play times, play styles or pressure to run events and raids.

We always have many members online with as much as 150+ at peak playing times. Our website and forum are extremely active, our Discord server is well used and our Facebook group provides an added dimension to our community feel.

We’ve been able to draw from all our experience over the years and are very proud of the guild we have today in which our members go that extra mile to help one another.

We run regular social events, dungeons runs and have PvE and PvP Raids every night of the week, all of which are advertised in our event calendar. Please take note that our PvP guild activities are based on being part of the Ebonheart Pact and are currently taking place on the Sotha Sil (Home) campaign.

In addition, we also have a very successful academy which provides PvE trial mentoring for 1st timers as well as experienced players in a very relaxed and friendly, non-pressured environment.

If Alith Legion sounds like the type of guild which appeals to your playing style and aspirations, then please don’t hesitate to check us out at:

Don’t forget to register and apply for membership on the Alith Legion website when our recruitment slots are open to also become an Alith Legionnaire!

We’re really looking forward to hearing from you!

Our name is Alith Legion, for we are many!
