how do you survive as a stamblade?

$

I've played for a couple years now and have been dedicating some serious time to PvP (Both cyro and IC). I don't suck and noticed myself getting better, I can kill in a decent amount of time, manage my resources and I'm confident in my 1v1 abilities but if I have more than one person on me I'm screwed. I know who to avoid and who I can kill easily and I'm not a pure gank build I've tried to find a balance between defense recovery and damage rocking 5/2 medium/heavy. But If I get cc chained or anything that stops me for more than 2 seconds I seem to just blow up depsite my best efforts at healing, roll doging, cloaking, using shuffle, ect.

Basically, what do you use (or find works) for 1vx survival and dealing with cc spammers as a stamblade?

Crown Store Items, pulled for Crates

$

Since crates appear to be here for the long haul, I wish the dev team would stop pulling direct purchase content so they could put it in the crates. I've missed buying things before (even things that weren't labeled 'limited time only') to find them later put in the crate rewards for a season.

Example: Cyrod Patrician Formal Gown. When I started playing (December 2016) it was in the store. In March/April, it was still there. Around that time, I needed to upgrade my PC and ended up building a new one, which resulted in an unintended absence from the game for awhile. I had no reason to believe that content would be pulled. (Yes, I know the TOU states they can change whatever they want without notice). It just sucks to have come back, realized it and some other costumes and things were gone, only to be returned as crown crate rewards.

I mean, really, I'd just like to be able to purchase the things I want directly in general. But, at least, please just let things introduced as direct stay direct. Don't remove stuff from the store just so you can sell us the horrid RNG chance to get it later.

Class role poll 5 of 5, what role is your Warden?

There's gonna be one for every class so XD.
Basically, what role does your main Warden toon play? And no not counting fake ques, I mean actual fulfillment of the role.

(Yes this was mostly copy pasted with one small error in the sorc one that I fixed really fast, bonus points for anybody who caught it before I fixed it.)

Why PvP will never be fixed as is 2014-2018 (DAoC all over again)

There is a very simple problem that has absolutely no solution as is......let me explain

What the issue is
The problem is this zone is literally their attempts to recreate the awesomeness of Dark Age of Camelot’s two environments.

Cyrodil = Frontier and Imperial City = Darkness Falls

DAoC has RvR in a Frontier with Keep attacks, Relic steal runs and Zergs

For those who have no idea what I’m referring to, Mythic was the developer of Dark Age I’d Camelot back in the late 1990’s early 2000 founded by Matt F

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mythic_Entertainment

Why it’s an issue
That game also had a never ending lag issue and they were never resolved. That game allowed somewhere around 350+ players per alliance/faction in the Frontier. It was seperate servers however we still had issues. Notice, regardless of what they change, lag exists or gets worse and eventually requires maintenance. Initially they had to do maintenance 2-3 times every week to keep things stable.

Once a week isn’t enough but it was called Elder Scrolls Offline as 3/7 days was maintenance.

Matt F and a number of others who were with that developer left and some came to this game while others went to make an unreleased Camelot Unchained.

http://camelotunchained.com/v3/

What we are playing for PvP is an old recreated version of that game with TES lore.

It’s why we have classes, skills that aren’t balanced well and a number of other direct comparisons.

A realistic solution:
The short of it is this......the only way to resolve the main complains I see on the forums and in the game is to remove Cyrodil and Imperial City.

Cyrodil can exist in smaller chunks
1. Break the zone up into multiple zones for the PvE content and have a background simulation of PvE campaign
2. Break the zone up into smaller versions of a new type of PvP battle ground. Each campaign should host all these smaller chunks as separate.
3. Imperial City would also follow the above for both PvP and PvE BUT access to Imperial City would have different rules depending upon your choices.

*Because some player want a mixed zone you can offer in the PvE chucks a PvE only and PvE+PvE version which would have the background simulation going

With all of this, there needs to be a different way to handle Faction selection.

I’d propose to remove factions from character creation entirely. Instead the faction would occur as a choice upon joining either the PvE Cyrodil and/or PvP+PvE Cyrodil.

It would reset when the campaign resets and require a new choice.
There would be absolutely no swapping factions and once a choice is made, it’s account wide for these two areas.

The rest of the world would not have a faction

I thinks it’s important that these chunks work like battle ground queues so that a set min per faction and max per faction applies and once a keep, scroll, or whatever the goal is, becomes completed, those players win, loose, draw and can join a new battle ground within the same campaign

This means the possibility of multiple battlegrounds within a campaign

This also means emperor and rewards to apply per battle ground as the campaign is there to assist with faction selection and faction resets.

Guilds should be neutral however players within the guild should be forced into a faction filter for guild chat if they are in a battle ground

Lastly this would allow the developers to look at PvP skill rebalance seperately from PvE

I’d argue that if the above occurs, it would make sense to have PvP only abilities and skills that toggle on a saved skill bar (2 of them)

Players may also be open to PvP gear but I’m getting ahead of myself. It’s time to remove the impossible and develop content for fun.

New PvP rewards

Someone posted something about how there is no incentive to fight the Zerg, especially being a solo pvper. but what if there was a new "Reward for the brave" or something where every 30 or even 50k AP that you get from ONLY kills or heals (not from ticks or captures) we get a container with potions! maybe a stack of 20-40 of them (depending on how much AP we need) but not the lame ones you buy with AP. they can be like the crown pots where they are a little weaker than crafted ones but they are actually useful like health stam/mag immovable. or stam and invis/ detect...

What do you think about next chapter (After summer set isle) to expand on island outside of Tamriel?

$

I always wanted to see more of Tamriel and I still do but after playing WoW for few days(Because of ESO re-introducing me to MMORPG) I feel like it is sometimes more fun to explore the unknown. Now that after Summerset isle zones will almost be fairly distributed between all 3 alliances, I think this is a good time to to leave Tamriel temporarily.
What do you think about seeing islands we have very few lore about or totally unknown?
Or rather you will only want to see outside Tamriel (and other realms via smaller DLC) after they completely fill out the Tamriel.

Just getting back into the game, and looking for character build help. I have focused on; medium armor, dual wield, stamina, health, stealth. I also love crafting and doing writs. I suppose my first question is... am I on the right track in terms of progression? If not, where should I be putting my skill points? Third question.... since I love crafting and gathering mats, what overall tip would you give me? Thanks for the help!

Like Hurricane (Lightning Form morph), and even to help the DK Tanks, Hardened Armor (Spiked Armor morph) could cost Stamina and cause Physical Damage (or Poison Damage).

Update suggestion/idea for Veteran dungeons to bring competitively for endgame players.

$

Introduction:
For the new upcoming Dragonbones DLC, Zenimax will add new 2 new dungeons. These 2 dungeons will be played alot for the first few days/weeks. But after that they'll become dungeons for players just to farm item sets in normal modes or completely ignored by most average players. That counts for all the dungeons. For PvP players like me and alot of Pve players, these dungeons are becoming just another grind to get the undaunted skill to 9. These dungeons are actually fun content to do regularly but Zenimax doesn't add much competitively to the players. So i have a idea that maybe work to add this competitively.

My Idea:
So to add competitively in these dungeon, We can showcase the fastest time that they clear the dungeon on Veteran HM difficulty. The time and by whom players are displayed on the dungeon finder menu when u select a specific dungeon, with the Guild who cleared the dungeon and the players with their @names (Character names, like in the friendlists) and roles they used to to clear dungeon and how many time's they died (Each death should give a 5 seconds penalty) This is to prevent players will skip all the adds in order to get the fastest time.)
When the fastest time is achieved by a guild, there will be a system announcement for example [Dungeon clear! Ruins of Mazzatun has been cleared by ''Guild name'' with the time of 17:23.97 seconds!] So that everyone can check in the dungeon finder witch players achieved the time. (to add a little fame for players) Same announcement could be implemented for the nr1 spots for Mealstrom Arena and veteran Trials.
How does this work? The timer starts at the same time as the speed challenges achievements and end when the final boss dies. After looting the boss or chest a popup will showup for the Group leader. he can select witch guild has cleared the dungeon. And Selects the rolls for each players. (This is because in some dungeons, there's no need to bring a healer) and after submit, the announcement will show in chat and/or on screen.

To add more depths into the times, zenimax can also add how much dmg they've done, how much healing and how much damage they've been taken. They can also add how fast they killed each boss, and to add some flavor they can show a picture of the bosses with the imposing results.

Conclusion

I'd really think this would bring more competitively into the game. But also for guilds that already achieved world records, would like the idea. At this time, they'll have to post the results on the forums and Youtube, for a few people to see but with this all of eso community will be notified of their achievement.

Earthgore Nerf

From the latest PTS patch notes:
Earthgore: This item set’s proc now only dispels one enemy Area of Effect ability in its radius, instead of all of them.

Excellent change! Now groups that stack Earthgore on half the players in their raid will still be annoying, but at least they can't counter every single enemy area of effect with a single proc of the set. As a member of an organized raid that doesn't stack Earthgore, I'm delighted to see this.

Memory leaks in Vet Maelstorm

$

It isn't probably a new topic but as it isn't still fixed it won't hurt to type it again. After spending a while in vet Maelstorm my FPS drops to around 8-24 and of course it is unplayable, tried few solutions, updated my drivers (no new drivers available btw if anyone cares), lowered settings, turned off addons and even deleted them (though now they are restored through backup again), watched like 10 different solutions on net/forum/youtube (Thx Blobeso for awesome guide on how to improve fps for cyrodil and game overall though in maelstorm it still doesn't work), got nothing running in the background my CPU/Disk and memory are not even used in vet maelstorm higher than 30-45% and honestly I run other online games that need more specs than ESO with stable 80+ FPS and good ping.

This leaves (or so it seems to me at least) possible memory leaks (well i am sure it is but as I am not investigator type and I am not paid to do it...) so my request is simple please fix it after all it would be nice to see long lasting bug finally improved when u (as I suspect) earn a lot from it (if you wouldn't game wouldn't be supported and developed further dlc's).

Kind regards,

Frustrated customer.

Hey everyone! After receiving some pretty awesome feedback from players imploring me to post this latest creation, I've finally decided to share it with you all in hopes that it will inspire some creativity for all of the homestead lovers like myself! In total, the construction took me about a week with a rough estimate cost of ~1mil. No homestead add-ons were used. If you would like to view it in game (NA server), shoot a mail to @slicksteezin Without further ado, here it is!

Feedback from someone who has done > 10,000 master writs

$
0
0
Over the past year, I've completed more than 10,000 master writs, many dropped from my 14 master crafters, and many purchased from other players. Here is some feedback from that experience.

What is working?
  • The drop rates for sealed writ invitations feel great. I know some players with a single crafter, go for a few days without an invitation, but when the rng is averaged out across my 14 crafters, I can see the steady stream of writ invitations. Not too much and not too few.
  • The economics of master writs almost always make sense. I've posted an image of my profitability spreadsheet below, which shows that almost all master writ invitations are worth something with current writ voucher prices (PC/NA), and the steady stream of new content on the master writ vendor helps keep demand fairly steady.

What could be better?
  • It would be convenient if sealed writ invitations were stackable, just like survey reports. For many players, duplicate sealed writ invitations would almost never happen, but when you put more than 100 alchemy, enchanting, or provisioning invitations on the same character, the duplicates become somewhat more difficult to manage. Stackable invitations would be nice.
  • 10-voucher provisioning master writs are way out of line with all of the other master writs, so far out of line that the game economy cannot adapt to make them valuable. At this point, you are better off paying someone 10,000g for the privilege of not completing a 10-voucher provisioning writ, which turns a reward into a disappointment.

What would it take to make 10-voucher provisioning writs worth completing?
  • Option 1 - You could increase the reward for these writs from 10 writ vouchers to 40 writ vouchers, which would bring these in line with the least valuable of the other master writ types.
  • Option 2 - You could increase the reward for these writs from 10 writ vouchers to 20 writ vouchers and decrease the number of units needed from 8 to 4, requiring one perfect roe instead of two to fulfill the requirements.
  • In either case, you could handle the risk of hoarders by replacing the current item in the drop table with a new item that has the new properties. This would prevent anyone from playing the market by buying up the old invitations and turning them for a huge profit.
  • If the overall writ voucher drop rates are finely tuned, you could compensate for the increased number of vouchers by cutting the drop rate by 2x-4x accordingly.

Comments on the spreadsheet
For the analysis below, I assume that I'm buying sealed writ invitations on a guild store, buying the materials needed to complete them on a guild store, completing the invitations myself, and then selling items bought with writ vouchers on a guild store. Prices for the materials are based on my MM, which represents the four largest trade guilds on the server (ETU, BBC, AUT, ESE). For this version, I assume I can sell items bought with writ vouchers at a list price of 1050g / voucher, which is roughly the current market price.

The Target Price column represents the gap in value between the cost of materials and the value of the resulting writ vouchers, representing the value of the sealed writ invitation per writ voucher received.

Note that 10-voucher provisioning master writs are the only ones which have a negative value, and that the difference between these master writs and the next least valuable is about 2x larger than the difference between the next least valuable and the most valuable.

On the other end of the spectrum, the most valuable master writ vouchers are the 2-voucher alchemy, provisioning, and enchanting writs, which makes sense, because they take the most time per voucher, which counterbalances their high value per voucher. No change needed there.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Could you pass this analysis on to someone on the crafting systems team? I think they'll find it useful.

There is a thread for feedback, but I thought I'll start a thread for all of us who for some reason cannot test this on our own and have a lot of questions.

1. Can some kind soul that dedicated themselves to testing that aspect of new patch write down all meaningful rewards along the way to lvl 50?
(Well, they did  Great thanks to @feyii and @RaddlemanNumber7 and others)

2. If I have character at lvl 16 and level her to 30 then move to another character at lvl 31 and take it to 50 -- I will get the account bound rewards as if leveling one char? Can somebody swap chars and test it? (will myself when PTS is EU)

What is your favorite and least favorite dungeon?

Combat Team: Please consider giving the Warden's skill "Winter's Revenge" a synergy

$
0

Currently, there is little to no incentive to bring Wardens of any spec into any PvE raid environment, from a competitive point of view:

1) Magicka Warden DPS: Arguably the weakest of all DPS specs which provides 0 unique passive group utility.
To highlight the above, this is what other classes can bring to the table:
  • Templar: Minor Sorcery, increasing group Spell Damage by 5% for 10 seconds.
  • Dragonknight: Minor Brutality, increasing group Weapon Damage by 5% for 10 seconds.
  • Nightblade: Minor Savagery, increasing group Weapon Critical Strike rating by 657 for 10 seconds.
  • Sorcerer: Minor Prophecy, increasing group Spell Critical Strike rating by 657 for 10 seconds.
In comparison, this is what a Warden can passively bring to the table:
  • A chance to apply the 'chilled' status effect, the primary effect of which (Minor Maim) is already reliably applied by Low Slash.
  • The capability to proc Minor Toughness when healing an ally, increasing their Max Health by 10% for 10 seconds, an effect that is already granted by Aggressive Horn.
  • The capability to proc Minor Intellect and Minor Endurance, increasing Magicka Recovery and Stamina Recovery by 10% for 20 seconds. While this is nice for a Warden healer, it's not really essential in any raid. Not to mention a Sorcerer can already proc Minor Intellect with Empowered Ward, while Stamina DDs manage sustain with heavy attacking.
2) Stamina Warden DPS: A decent DPS spec, yet still behind the other Stamina options. One reason you might bring this into a raid is for their massive AOE breach capability for trash pulls, but beyond that, there is nothing about having one of these builds in your group that would outweigh bringing another stamina build instead.
3) Warden Healer: I'm sure this is a touchy subject for some players, but at the end of the day the Templar Healer is still preferred over the Warden Healer for what I would imagine is a majority of the end-game raiding community. One reason you might bring one of these into a raid is for the Budding Seeds synergy. Beyond that, there's nothing that a Warden can do that a Templar cannot do better.

The above, in my opinion, only scratches the surface of things that can stand to be improved upon when it comes to Wardens in general. One way that I think would make the raiding community a little less averse to having a (Magicka) Warden in their group is simply by giving Winter's Revenge a synergy. If the changes to synergies stick as they currently are on PTS (with a 30 second cooldown between like synergies), they will become more important than ever when it comes to restoring resources, and proc-ing sets like Alkosh. If nothing else were to be changed with the Warden, simply giving this single skill a synergy would be enough to incentivize raid groups to have this otherwise extremely weak spec in their party for at least some encounters. I also understand that, since the Warden cannot be played by those that have not paid for the Morrowind expansion, granting the class a unique passive that is "locked behind a paywall" is probably not something that players would like to see happen. This is also why I find the solution of giving Winter's Revenge a synergy to be a "compromise" of sorts, if you will, that would make the class more desired by our raiding community without making it "pay to win".

Edited because I forgot a Warden buff.
