Main Thread for Long Loading Screens

$

Hello everyone,

We’re creating this thread so there’s a central place to have discussions and provide updates on the long loading screens that many of you have been experiencing. We know this issue is extremely frustrating, and for some, is preventing you from playing all together. We’re doing everything we can to get this fixed as quickly as possible, and have made it a top priority for our engineers. Our QA team has been testing various scenarios so we can collect as much data as possible, including hopping in and out of PvE zones, dungeons, Trials, Cyrodiil, and Battlegrounds, all with varying amounts of players (we’re utilizing bots for situations requiring higher numbers). We’ve also been able to pin down a solid reproducible case for us to investigate that our own Game Director Matt Firor was encountering.

As of now, our only update is that our engineers and programmers are still working to pin point exactly what’s causing this. Until we know, we won’t be able to put in a fix. As for what you can do to help…
  • Let us know which system and megaserver you’re on if you’re currently having this issue.
    • If you’re on PS4, please specify if you’re on a regular PS4 or PS4 Pro.
    • If on Xbox, please specify if you’re using an Xbox One, Xbox One S, or Xbox One X.
    • If you’re a PC player, let us know what sort of processor you’re running.
  • Is there any specific area or zone you consistently see a long loading screen?
  • What are you doing when you experience a long loading screen?
    • I.e.: Using a wayshrine, resurrecting, looting, etc.
  • Are you utilizing any sort of SSD?
  • If you play on Xbox, is the game installed on the internal hard drive or an external hard drive?
  • If you’re on PS4, are you using the first party hard drive or a replacement?
Thanks for your patience on this, everyone. To reiterate, our priority right now is fixing this issue as soon as we can. We’ll provide updates in this thread as we receive them.

We need some answers. Sersiously how does low pop bonus work?

DC had it in sothra even though they had medium pop. And Right now EP has medium pop and a HUGE zerg, half the map. ANd they just got low pop bonus too. How the hell does it work?

Are you kidding me that the system is so broken its going to give a faction with only its tri keeps held 75 points, and the faction with the biggest current zerg 120 points even though we are holding them back?

Can we once and for all get some Answers on how this works. Seriously its providing too much of a bonus, its extending way passed when it shouldn't and its rewarding the laziest players for doing NOTHING AT ALL.

If a population is really low and a faction needs help to stay in the game that is understandable but mass logging out and zerging back in so you get the bonus is just dumb.

magblade dps issues

I recently switched my NB from stam to mag
Didn't really enjoy the stam blade stuff so i thought it was worth the switch to try it out.
Even though i didn't ENJOY the stam blade... i was able to hit 35k-40k on the dummy. just normal trial gear and rotation.

Long story short - i can barely hit 26k on the mag blade. I'm comfortable with magicka builds and the rotation seems similar to everything else (with the exception of merciless resolve/spectral bow)

I've already looked up other people builds (alcast, deltia, tam foundry, etc.) I'm just looking for someones personal advice on how they up'd their magblade dps.

I know its not a gear issue... something has to be fundamentally wrong with my rotation/skills. even with an imperfect rotation i would think i'd be hitting 30k at least.
Any tips and pointers would be great to hear.

My setup/rotation.
Apprentice stone
witch mothers drink

All divine/mag enchant and all gold quality
5 julianos
4 aether (jewelry, inferno staff-infused flame enchant)
2 skoria
maelstrom lightning back bar (nirn berserk)

activate MR and SS - drink spell power pot - drop meteor
> (light attack) EB > crippling grasp > twisting path bar swap cancel
> funnel health > funnel health > bow proc (reapply if second proc)
Reapplying SS when it runs out and casting soul harvest on cooldown

If anyone on PS4/NA would be willing to help me out on a dummy test or two... i'd really appreciate it.

"Siege weapon" category landmines hidden from regular view. Of course, we'd need to figure out how to prevent spam abuse, such as through time or per-person limits, and maybe give a non-cheap way for people to detect them.

[PC-EU] Looking for vet/DLC dungeon focused guild.

Hello,

I currently main a Breton MagSorc DD (27 - 31k dps... and improving) and run weekly normal, vet and HM trials with my raiding guild. What I really enjoy, however, are dungeons! My current guild doesn't really run them, and 9 times out of 10 many will groan at the thought of running DLC dungeons for achievements and just the fun of it.

I'm a friendly guy, and an achievement hoarder, and I would love to find a guild that focuses on dungeons as a key aspect. If you run one or know of one, i'd love to join!

Explain this mount gank argument to me

So in area chat this weekend, some people were complaining about gankers and how you can't counter them while on a mount. My boyfriend is a ganker and he dueled me enough times to teach me what to expect in a gankers rotation and counter it. Since then, the only way I end up dying to a ganker is from my fault (i.e. not going stealth when looking at my inventory or not bar swapping to the right bar when I get caught off guard) or two gankers are together and hit me at once. But when I am on a mount, as soon as I hear a ganker close the distance, I immediately roll dodge off my mount and shield up because I can dodge the Incap if I do that.

I am also a Mageblade so I can go immediately in stealth and use inner light to pull the ganker out. Now, because I said this in area chat, immediately 3+ people were being sarcastic with me, saying "Oh I am sorry that I am not unkillable like you" and even saying some really offhand remarks that were really rude when I simply stated you can counter gankers, you just need to pay attention and learn.

The only thing I can think that would be a gankers dream is if you have no stamina on your mount and the animation of you falling off is a good split second to die without defending. That makes sense to me. You can't flx a wall and fight at the same time. There's animations associated with it. But at least with a mount, you can immediately get off before you get kicked off so I am failing to see what these people in area chat in Vvardenfell were complaining about. Can someone explain this to me if I am missing something? Or did I trigger some complainers who don't want to learn to counter a ganker.

Chapter II - announcement on Friday March 2nd during ESO Live?

So Dragon Bones hits consoles in a few days. We already had the ESO Live two weeks ago dedicated to it and this week there will be another ESO Live on Friday.

Could there be a better time for the announcement of Chapter II or at least the "announcement for the announcement"?

Back last year they announced Morrowind before releasing Homestead, this year they will obviously wait until Dragon Bones is rolled out completely. So why not dedicate the upcoming ESO Live to Chapter II and the "Road Ahead" this year? Last year they said on 30th January that they'll announce something on 31st January. So why not this year a similar schedule? As far as we know they are still heading towards a Q2 release and we are already one month late compared to Morrowind.

So do you think ZOS will finally start talking about Chapter II (which most likely takes place on Summerset Isles) this week?

Defining Pay to Win

Greetings fellow forum dwellers,
I am of the opinion that the term 'Pay-to-win' is loosely used and, as a whole, we could all benefit from gaining insight on this topic.

In this thread I will define Pay-To-Win as I see it. I hope that others will do the same.
I encourage others to challenge my definition of Pay-To-Win, as I plan to challenge every definition contrary to mine which is posted herein.

*Note* While I border on obstinance, my point of view is not unshakeable. This thread may well end with me modifying my current definition in response.

Pay-To-Win: When a player is allowed an 'unfair' advantage over players who do not opt to pay.
Definition of an Unfair advantage: Any unique ability or gear which can ONLY be obtained via purchase.
In an FPS, allowing members to buy$ superior weapons in damage and accuracy that can not be obtained by any amount of grinding; only available for Cash$ purchase=Unfair advantage, P2W.

What is not Pay-To-Win: Allowing a player to decrease the amount of time it takes to reach specific goals (I.E. Making it easier to find good loot, increasing exp gains, etc)
Money is an agreed upon symbol which may be exchanged for time/effort. Enabling one to exchange money for this rational is the way of currency. I work for 4 hours, I take home money$ in exchange for those 4 hours. I exchange that money for another good or substance which holds 4 hours (hopefully more, hopefully not less) of value to me.
To this point, I could have spent those 4 hours grinding instead of working. My time input is not changed in this scenario.

I look forward to reading multiple iterations of Pay-To-Win, and to dancing with delectable trolls in the interim.

Do you think the game's content is overly sexualized, appropriately humorous, or too prudish?

Do you think the game's content is overly sexualized, appropriately humorous, or too prudish?

Some examples:
  • Dark Seducers telling you, "You look like a sturdy one. Shall I treat you to my whip or my riding crop?"
  • Constant references to "sleek Khajiit" and "sweet meat."
  • Queen Ayrenn's reference to an incident involving a purple velvet dress and a drunken schoolmarm.
  • Lorebooks titled "The Lusty Argonian Maid" with very suggestive content
  • Spider daedra bosses telling you they are waiting in anticipation and not to keep them waiting any longer
  • Womanizing-like comments on the part of Razum-Dar
  • Abnur Tharn saying he has an appointment with a young lady
  • The quest involving the naked nord
  • The quest involving the other nord who lost his pants
  • Other similar examples (feel free to list below)

Since I just moved here from Kyne where our forum thread was always an entertaining read, I was pretty disapointed not to find similar thread for this campaign, just a couple of disjointed QQs. And so im starting one :)
This is to be a big cross-alliance chat, full of salt, drama and unlikely friendships!

And so, I'll start with few observations, from a point of expereinced PvPer, but newcomer in SS, EP side.
Current population during active hours seem to be into EP's favour, which is a bit unfortunate for a guy joining, since its always more fun to play underpopulated faction. Still I like that other 2 factions are active enough to not let EP dominate but instead keep pushing back and keep PvP going!

Campaign seems a bit worse in regards to nightcapping. What amazes me tho, is that it seem to be going on on all 3 alliances roughly in the same amount. EP capping few days at the end of evening, others later at night and in the morning.. Altough I'll never understand ppl taking scrolls from NPCs at 4am, i must say: if it doesnt kill the PvP enjoyment at primetime, go slaughter those NPCs! Show them who's best! :P

And finally, since im moving here along with a guild, Im interested to find out names and activity of other guilds playing in SS :) Ive met some EP ones alrdy but im interested in knowing what DC and AD groups we will be fighting.. so far we have seen a couple of good ones, and we are very much looking forward to wiping you after we settle in! :D

Should there be a CP catch up mechanic? Should we be able to buy them?

As the champion point cap is gradually raised the casual players are left feeling like they are in a never-ending grind to catch-up. Why not offer an alternative similar to EVE Online? EVE Online allows you to purchase skillpoints for your character. Why not allow players in ESO to buy "Champion Packs" on the Crown Store similar to mount speed and inventory space?

Tamriel's Most Wanted - aka. The Great Grand List of Furniture Wishes and Hopes

$

There have already been some great threads on here asking for future pieces of furniture. I am going to make my own thread, however, simply because of all the massive amounts of furnishing pieces I have found in the game, that I would like to see made available at some point or another in the game.
Feel free to link or compile this into the other megathreads about furniture wishes.

Due to the large amount of pieces, as well as pictures provided, I will section the post up in several parts, and several posts, in order to keep it less cluttered. I will try and put everything into an appropriate "theme" to make the browsing easier as well.

So without further delay, allow me to bring the first exhibits into view. I will start with the plant items that are most dear to my heart. You see, in my Tel Galen fungal paradise, I am creating a wild garden of exotic plants, funny fungi and carnivorous plants of all sorts and species. I am immensely thrilled at the result so far, HOWEVER, there is something that is sorely lacking among all my fly-eating babies. While we have the pitcher plants on both red and green varieties, as well as pitchers hanging from vines in different sorts, we do not yet have these large pitcher plants available anywhere:

ATw5KxZ.jpg

3ApwtiQ.jpg

pWRkm9M.jpg

I would absolutely love these to be added eventually, as rare drops form Vvardenfell nodes and bought in Crown Store. A few of these in different sizes would top off my pitcher paradise perfectly. Also note the mushrooms with the red droplets and the ones growing on the stones. Would like these to be available as well, especially the red droplet ones. They are all over Vvardenfell.
Here's another example of both types of mushroom:

mpIR8sn.jpg

Moving on to another of my personal favourites. I'm a major fan of carnivorous plants, so while we had pitcher plants in various sizes, as well as the sundew, one iconic plant was missing - the venus flytrap. I didn't think we actually had a model for it in the game, but then I was doing a round of Mazzatun when suddenly I spotted these:

RSd8wVe.jpg

YHvrfgI.jpg

SiDLunv.jpg

REAL AMAZING venus flytraps! So much excitement, and so much disappointment that they aren't available from anywhere! This would be my fondest wish #1 to eventually see these in game. I will decorate my Tel Galen garden with these beauties from one end to the other.

Alright, moving on to some other things to finish off this first post. First I give you blue glowing shrooms:

ynOA1gn.jpg

Considering that we had some smaller patches of blue glow shrooms on the PTS earlier, perhaps it's not too much to ask to have these ones added too.

Next are these land coral thingies? I don't know what they are, they seem to sprout from the stinkhorn spores, but they are all over Vvardenfell in various phases of maturity. They are bright red instead of dull purple like the basic land coral plants, but they move around as well, and they look really cool. My aquatic land coral garden screams to have these ones added to there.

4IcuKJb.jpg

And finally, water lilies. They look so pretty, and every house with water access, or with a lake or pond, would love to have some patches of these added to them.

9IFA1QN.jpg

This concludes my post number 1, which focuses mostly on fungus, carnivorous plants (those venus flytraps ftw!) and other Vvardenfell flora. Several posts coming up maybe later today or one of these days, stay tuned. I'm not sure who's the guy or gal in charge of the whole housing and furnishing system, but I'm gonna tag some of you folks and hopefully this can be delivered to the right eyes. Thanks!

Guild Poll - Raising the limit on Guild member slots

$
0
0
The current limit is 500 members and this Poll asks you whether you think the limit should be raised.

Possible Pros
  1. Trading Guilds enjoy more Tax from their increased membership.
  2. Social Guilds can expand to introduce more people into content.
  3. Raiding Guilds can (still) run multiple teams; even more than before though!
  4. All Guilds/Communities reaching their current limit could grow further.
  5. LFG/LFM/WTB/WTS/WTT chat would increase.
  6. More people getting into Group content is better for ZOS accounting department.

Possible Cons/Things to contemplate
  1. Would this increase negatively (or positively) affect the guild trader/trading market.
  2. Would 1000 member Guild Chat be unmanageable. Peak time restrictions might have to be enforced (cooldown on when you can talk again).
  3. A third chat layer for Guilds might be required, similar to the current /g1 & /o1 chats /u1 (utility chat) would handle LFG/LFM/WTB/WTS/WTT leaving /g1 or /o1 open still for conversation.
  4. How would this affect Guild Banks, Ranks, Notes & Permissions.
  5. How would this affect 50 member social guilds.
  6. What about Performance issues for both server and client side.

As an advocate for raising the limit I am of course biased towards my own opinion but would definitely like to hear what other people think about this; and if it is even possible.

Do you want a "Compare Achievements" and "Inspect Player" option?

Everything But the Bear

$

0
I have finally gotten around to leveling up my Warden, as a magicka based build, of course. I must say that purely from an aesthetic point of view, I like everything about it. I of course went with a Dunmer for my Warden, so all the Fetcherfly swarm, Cliffracers and Shalks really fit the theme very well. I also like all the vines, and especially the fungus heal, and the lotis flower and all the custom animations. Now if you hadn't nerfed ice staff from a DPs weapon to a semi-useless tank weapon, my Warden would feel really awesome.

BUT, there is one element that feels completely wrong to me, and that's the bear ultimate. While the rest of the animal skill line has clearly been modeled on a Morowind theme, the bear doesn't fit there at all. Not only does the bear look kind of ugly, but it also sticks out like a sore thumb. Once I've leveled up the skill purely for completion, I will stick to the Ice ulti or Healing forest or maybe just Ice destro ulti.

I can't fathom why you didn't make it more fitting for the theme, such as a Nix Ox summon, a Kagouti or some other Vvardenfell appropriate beast to match all the other Morrowind themed summons. There are no bears on Vvardenfell, or in any Morrowind zone at all. I know it's far too late to hope anything will be changed around, or that we at least get an alternative summon form, but I wanted to throw the feedback out there anyway. If you do add more classes in the future, I hope you stick to the theme so the class feels overall cohesive. The current Warden feels like a sort of Frankenstein's jigsaw puzzle, with Dunmer animal summons, a bear that sticks out, and then a Winter/Frost skill line. I don't see any frost or snow on Vvardenfell, quite the opposite actually.

Show your Khajiit!

This one wishes to invite all Khajiit to show their sleek fur, stylish silks and bountiful wares! She hopes that some may tell stories of where they came from in their travels, what shiny things they may have found in open pockets and where they have eaten the sweetest cakes outside of Elsweyr. Within Elsweyr this one can happily say Sugar-Bikkit's own mother still makes the sweetest cakes in Dune.

Here is Sugar-Bikkit when she went to visit a very disagreeable prince, he offered no cake and had nothing of interest in his pockets. This one does not recommend Coldharbor for cake. However there are many doors that have been left unlocked, which has been of great use to this one when guards in Tamriel become grumpy with Bikkit.

Crown Store Item Wish List

Hello everyone!

As part of Update 6, we are introducing the Crown Store: an in-game store where you can purchase customization and convenience items. The store offers consumables you can use to save time on in-game activities (like experience and crafting boosters, for example) along with new customization options including costumes, exotic pets, and mounts. When the Crown Store launches, we’ll have a number of items available immediately, but what about the future? Tell us what sorts of goods and services you would like to see offered in the Crown Store – you can be as general or specific as you’d like.

You can view some of the planned Crown Store items at the following link, beginning at 23:59

We look forward to reading your ideas and feedback!
