[VID / Guide] Animation Cancelling (Finger Filming) / Keyboard Layout

Hey everyone!

Animation cancelling is one of those things that is hard to show how to do with just in-game footage, so I put together a video that shows my keyboard and mouse layout. I overlayed the footage of my actual keyboard on top of my in-game recording. I also showed my different keyboard bindings and what I find to be the optimal layout for PvP and PvE.

Note: in the video I am using an MMO mouse for my skill bar. You do NOT need an MMO mouse in order to animation cancel.. but it helps a TON with mobility while animation cancelling. I strongly recommend it, but if you prefer to have your ability keys on your keyboard, just imagine yourself pressing that button instead of the mouse ability button.

Though I am sure this is going to sound insane to some people, But as there is clear conflict of interest for me I am going to say it anyways.

Can there be an option for players to enter these areas under no alliance's banner, which should mean they can't hurt other players, other players can't hurt them. There are lot of quests and exploration to be done in those area and not everyone entering there want to have PvP silliness. I would have understand it's PvP area if there were no exploration/quests/exclusive loots, So people like myself who has zero interest in PvP would have to enter there and any imbecile would come with his group and take me down. I have no interest in taking over aresa or stealing their silly scrolls, I just wanna complete some quests, get skyshards, get exclusive loot (like rune stone) and be done with it. Why I have to part of silly PvP of immature gamer ?

I chose an alliance because I had to chose one in order to create a player, I didn't sign up for childish PvP. So IMO there should be an option to enter these area under no banner, where one can enter under white flag just for classic old school RPG questing/exploration/rewards. If developers wanted those areas exclusively for PvP activities then they shouldn't have made exclusive loot there.

I wanna hunt down some daedra in imperial city instead I am being ganged up by bunch of players hidden in shadows waiting for some innocent little explorer to come so they can torment him/her. Game should encourage PvP don't enforce it, Some gamers are grown ups who just wanna play their game instead of ruining other's game.

Any Bets On How Effed PvP Is Post Summerset?

What’s your prediction? Jewelry crafting with 6 new traits, a skill line that involves a 4 second reset. I mean imbalance aside there’s no way that could cause any lag or bugs right? A zerg full of people all smashing reset every time they make a mistake :D :D

Should Cloak be broken by DoT's?

There have been a lot of threads created lately about how OP Nightblades are, and while I do believe that there are things in this game that are arguably more OP than they are, I feel its undeniable that some of their abilities are bit overtuned...

Case in point...Cloak.


At current, this ability is able to suppress DoT abilities like Structured Entropy and allow the Nightblade to successfully Cloak out and escape unharmed...

IMHO, this is what makes Cloak too powerful; they are able to disengage from a fight too readily because of features like this...

IMHO, if a Nightblade (or any other class for that matter) wishes to be free of a DoT, then he/she should have to wait out the DoT's duration or slot and utilize a Purging/Cleansing ability just like anyone else has to...

I genuinely feel that if you are taking Damage over Time, then that damage should immediately break Cloak and force the Cloaking Nightblade to become visible once more...


So...

How does the Hive Mind here on the ESO Forums feel about this?

Cheaters need to be removed from the game immediately. We were promised protective measures 2 years ago against the CE users and yet they still exists. It's time for ZOS to remove not only the players cheating but the groups they are running with. Even if in the PVP community it's 20% it would be better to have a game that free of cheaters than clogged up with CE users.

1.Knight slayer spam (s&b DKs)
2. Shield breaker spam (bow light attacks QQ)
3. Snipe spam (usually when getting 1vXes from 2 snipers)

Those are mine. What's yours?

imo snipe should have 2x or 3x the current cast time. It's a logical skill except for the good animation cancelled cast time. It hits hard, longest range and not instant like a irl sniper rifle. It should be much slower. Like snipe once from stealth, but next one should have it's time before it hits

SB and knight slayer are hard to counter on sorc with very low heals. Recently added dark conversion to my bars to counter it. Any ideas you can share to counter those sets?

stamina warden or stamina DK for PVP

Hi,

I am having a hard time deciding which to use for PVP.

I am told that the Warden is very strong in PVP over the DK as its much more bursty, but how much more effective is it in PVP than the DK ?

Would certainly like to get the benefits of preordering summerset (namely that nightmare senche) but I'm waiting on my next paycheck. Is this a time limited thing, or is it an 'anytime before summerset releases' kind of thing?

Summerset Isle Collector's Upgrade Digital version causing LUA errors

My wife and I purchased the Summerset Isle Collector's Upgrade Digital version and logged in to see the new pet. Now, both of us are experiencing previously unseen LAU errors that prevent us from using certain functionality... my wife can't hit U or I without LUA errors and I get a LUA error each time I log in a different character.

Mechanical Acuity Set Feedback & Suggestion.

after some extensive examination compared to other sets and reading a few topics about it (Listed Below) It has come to my attention that mechanical acuity is turning out to be quite the powerhouse for a 6-trait set, however, to have such a small damage window (small in terms of duration) it looks a bit slightly "Underwhelming" from a particular perspective.

Feedback: Mechanical Acuity has a lot of potential, particularly for DPS specific builds/characters which provides a good option for many players, 5 seconds of non-stop critical damage can synergise really well with many abilities as well as certain monster sets (yes I speak of the Iceheart monster set) but I feel it could use a bit of a slight buff (not too much but something to make this particular set more noteworthy to extremely professional players.) but nonetheless, it combines well if paired with the right abilities & armor sets.

Armor/Monster sets that work well with Mechanical Acuity:
  • Storm Master
  • Iceheart
  • Briarheart
  • Defiler
  • Caluurion's Legacy
  • Zaan

Suggestion: the Mechanical Acuity set should last about 8 seconds instead of 5 so that there is a 10 second window with each cooldown instead of a 13 second window, & to off-set this, it could go from being a 6-trait set to a 9-trait set to indicate it's lethal power in the right hands. (Originally I thought of suggesting it last about 10 seconds with a 20-25 second cooldown so as to give the set a 10-15 second window between each proc, but I probably do not see that happening at any rate.)

Psijic Order Skill called "Undo"

According to the twitch stream the ability known as Undo rewinds time back four seconds. This is specific only to players that own Summerset Isles Chapter/Expansion. As stated on the twitch stream you will rewind four seconds and reappear wherever you were four seconds ago and also get your used stamina and magicka BACK.

This is an incredibly strong skill and it is available to anyone who buys this chapter.

Ok SO a few questions! If i pre order the physical collectors edition, will I also get a hard copy of eso even if I already have the digital copy of ESO and Morrowind? Or it is just the Mephala statue, Raz journal, ect.? And if I do get a hard copy, do I need to use it whenever I want to play Summerset? Or can I just give away the hard copy since I already have a digital copy of the base game and Morrowind?

Well ... we can do without hats in settings .... How about a setting for "don't show footwear (shoes, boots etc)" ... ?!? The cats would appreciate ....

Dawnlight Palace PTS Feedback

...Bit late in the day for this home, but not long returned to the game and PTS.

Summary of Feedback:

Overall, it’s a beautiful home from any angle, and it’s clear there has been a lot attention to detail in many areas of the creation and design. However, there are a few flaws that let down the overall design. Given the expensive cost, these few flaws in the design are things that could be improved upon before it’s made available on the live servers; which would only benefit sales of the property.

I find the following main issues with the property:

1) DOORWAYS and BALCONIES: Only 2 doorways, front and side, with no doorways leading to the many well-designed balconies and viewings areas (in comparison, the much smaller Hunding Palatial Hall has 6 balcony doors, 7 including the front door).
• At least 2 doorways could be added to lead to balconies, as well as some stairs on the balconies themselves, leading to upper balconies.

2) UPPER BATTLEMENTS - No stairways: Upper areas on the battlements, such as the nicely crafted domes, have no stairs leading up to the tops; meaning they are inaccessible without creating your own way to get up there such as using wooden planks. However, this would take away from the beauty of the palace.
• This could be remedied by either:
1. Adding stone stairs leading up to such areas.
2. Bringing redguard textured stone stairs into the game as purchasable or craftable furnishings.

3) LIGHTING: Terrible lighting inside, where windows appear false; letting in no natural light.
• The current windows inside could be reprogrammed with windows that simulate natural light; lighting up what is a beautifully designed indoor palace main hall.

4) INVISIBLE WALLS: While the height of the invisible walls is generous... The invisible walls at the back and to left-back of the property still feel too close to shore in sea area.
While invisible walls are important to stop players getting out of the area, within the sea area at least (docking area and private beach area), they feel less necessary as there is no where to go.
• In this case, you (devs) could afford to move the invisible wall area further out to sea, allowing for more creativity on behalf of players wishing to design and create structures in those areas outside of the palace. I think this small change would add so much design creativity and potential to the home.

5) SLAUGHTERFISH: Slaughterfish are still too close to shoreline, thus limiting creativity: i.e. meaning any potential to create islands or structures to explore in the sea, would be impossible to swim to without creating a bridge close to the shore, which ruins and limits creativity.
• In this case, as the invisible walls ultimately stop players from getting out of the water, the slaughterfish could be moved to just within the invisible walls area; allowing players to be able to swim out further, create islands to swim to, or even use the water to create enclosed and lit swimming areas, such as sea caves.

6) UNFINISHED BUILDING: When you build up high, players can see that the palace behind the property is unfinished. It would be nice to see this area fixed, so that if players do build up that high, it looks natural and doesn’t break immersion.
• This could be done by either raising the sandstone mountain, or by creating more of a wall beneath the current palace wall.

UPDATED: 7) UNMOVEABLE TREES: The palm trees on the private beach area are unmoveable; this means that if any player wished to remove these and build in this small beach area, they would be unable to. This seems unnecessarily limiting!
• This could be remedied by making the trees a moveable item; allowing more design potential in that area.

I find the following minor issues with the property:

8) Swimming Pool: The swimming pool in the front courtyard is a little narrow.
• It could easily be widened to create a slightly wider swimming pool. This isn’t a major issue, or as important as the other issues, but it would be a nice touch. There appears to be a pointless large stone step around the swimming pool that could be removed, thus widening the pool (see video).

9) Outside buildings: The two outside building/cover are not moveable, limiting design placement of those areas
• By making these objects moveable, owners could choose to place them against the walls, or put them in different areas, making the grounds more personal to the owner; giving greater choice over placement and design.

Obviously an expensive home that will probably sell in game for around 13,000 crowns, which in real money is approximately £65 -70 UK pounds, and around $100 US dollars.

I feel, if fixed, these fixes would make the property more appealing and would allow for more potential in home design and creativity.

Any smart player can see the ZoS'es guide line about houses: all "Regular" houses we can buy with gold - dire trash with old textures and visible stitches between core game basic rooms combinated into one new house. All dat houses wasnt updated at all. Every new house is as exclusive crown store stuff.
Only difference is Morrowind houses we can buy with gold because of chapter add-on. And of course it hase a new jusy textures and meshes, designed specially for Morrowing and looks like organic part of Morrowind.

So I want to ask about Summerset, does it hase some new (SUmemrset located of course) houses we can buy with gold?

I’m pretty sure it was mentioned with the morrowind expansion that with each chapter released - a new character class would be released as well.

Why was this replaced with “ new skill line”?
Is the new skill line going to have 15 new skills and 3 ultimates to compensate for this?

Will we be receiving the new character class with the remaining 2 DLC being released later on in the year?

what version of summerset do i need to buy; im confused
