Morrowind armor analysis [screenshots]

Edit: Updated! One of the styles has been confirmed as Hlaalu!

The armor styles of Morrowind are iconic for the whole TES franchise, so I think it would warrant its own thread to discuss what we know so far.

The Morag Tong style will likely (finally) show up.

u1O88ch.png

However, Naryu's armor shown in the trailer and in the screenshot below is not "Morag Tong" style.
It's most likely a costume, as you can tell by the seamless integration of armor parts.

ViAFZ8G.jpg

The following screeenshot is a headscratcher.
It appears to be light Morag Tong armor in cut and style (see concept art above).
However, it bears the emblem of house Redoran.
MW-banner-House_Redoran.png

Plfbek2.png

This would suggest that there are armor styles associated with the Great Houses.
Taking a closer look at other screenshots, the rounded pauldrons of the Gah-Julan bonemold style.
MW-item-Gah-Julan_Bonemold_Armor_Male.jpg

The style has since been confirmed as Hlaalu style.
HgN5dCP.jpg

The following screenshot shows the Hlaalu style very prominently.

C3x-UegWcAAmF6O.jpg

Both screenshots also feature classic bonemold style helmets.
The one in the next screenshots also has spikes on top, suggesting heavy/medium variants again.
Alongside is a shield of an uncertain house. The shape would fit either Redoran or Hlaalu.
The armor with the tabard has been seen in several screenshots, but cannot be identified as belonging to a certain house or armor weight.

DsjKxZi.png

Next, we can spot the Telvanni Emblem on the shield of the character on the right.
MW-banner-House_Telvanni.png

3zBIOYj.png

The same armor is visible in the next screenshot on the character on the right.
Notice the rounded elements on the shin guards compared to those on the character to the left, who most likely wears a variant of the Hlaalu style seen in previous screenshots.

TBlNSpu.jpg

The armor is visible once more in this screenshot, this time with a helmet.
The style is difficult to associate with a house. It could be Telvanni by association with the shield in a previous screenshot.
However, the helmet by itself most closely resembles the Redoran Watchman's helm from TES3.

Cy5rLVx.jpg

Overall, there are at least three discernable styles. One that resembles classic bonemold and has been confirmed as Hlaalu, the one seen in the last screenshot, and the known Morag Tong style.
Some house emblems appear on some of these armors, but it is difficult to establish a clear link between the styles and the houses.

I dont understand why even paying ESO+ members have to suffer through endless gates just for the items they want (rng).
I have missed an entire cycle of Cyrodiil because I am trying to get a sharpened spellweave inferno staff and I dont undertand why I can have a bank full of embershield and sunderflame sharpened weapons, yet not a single bsw staff. I have run CoA with groups and solo over 250 times now, this is the definition of ridiculous.

I mean for crying out loud if you want to gate DLC gear behind a paywall then cool, but can the non dlc dungeon gear be swapped to BoE at least? Or bring the other traits up to par, tone down sharpened...whatever. BSW is a great performing set, but I am missing out on the content I WANT to play trying to gear for it. And FFS, what happened to putting crafters at the center of this economy? This wouldnt even be an issue if there were desirable crafted sets....

I mean BoE is a hard counter to RNG, why cant you allow those lucky enough to get a sharp staff the option to sell or trade it? I am positive there are players here with one rotting in their banks....

edit- i want to clarify that the drop rate is way too low. farming sets is an MMO experience. I get it, but after 250 runs.....comon

Zos, please lower the character limit for a new instance of an area before Morrowind.

As I understand it, there is a limit to how many players can be in any given area before the game decides to create a new instance of that area in order to avoid all sorts of issues. The new life festival showed that this limit is too high.

Before releasing Morrowind, please test and lower the character limit allowed in any given area seeing that every person in the world will be in the exact same spot on June 6.

Thank you!

Sorry, be warned.. this can also be perceived as a rant.

We all understand how high-end items, i.e. sharpened weapons, divines armor and such, drop in "rarity." You have to farm and farm your butt's off trying to find and get the piece(s) you want. Well, unless you have and are willing to drop the high amount of gold to get the item(s) on sale by another player. Let's take Spriggans, for example. A sharpened sword is seemingly what is hot, and being spammed on zone chats for sale for right around the 250k mark, as well as a few on the traders listed from 400-500k. Although, it is just in-game money, I'm just to frugal to spend that much gold on an item. Granted, every day, there are people spamming the sharpened Spriggan sword for sale on zone chat in Bangkorai, I can't seem to drop the 250k or more to get one from those potential sellers. Plus, due to numerous complains about players getting ripped out by other players on zone chat's transactions, as well as items sent as a transaction are being withheld or left in somebody's inbox for days or weeks until being returned (or not returned at all) to the sender, my distrust on the effective of zone chat transactions is another roadblock.

Thus far, I have been farming like mad since One Tamriel looking for a sharpened Spriggan sword (to use, mind you, and not for any sale.) So far, not even one. Yes, it is rare, but this is when it seems to transcend into the ridiculous realm. I have, so far, put in more efforts in farming for the Spriggan sword than anything else in ESO. 4-6 days a week ( to include the longer hours on the weekends) since mid-December, and through countless cycles/rotations of beating down world bosses (many times, soloing) and the public dungeon's bosses in Bangkorai, as well as tearing apart numerous/countless advanced and master chests and thieves' troves... still, not one single freaking sword. Yet, all these dudes are spamming the swords for sale on zone chats. How lucky are they or how unlucky am I.. What is up with this?!!

I am also a bit suspicious on how some are coming up with the sword (those being on sale on zone chats.) Heck, some are spamming multiple sharpened weapons, i.e. consecutive listing of Spriggan sharpened sword, greatsword, bow, maul and axe, as well as other high-end trait Spriggan pieces by the same person/player. A single person can't be that lucky to acquire all those high-end sharpened weapons and/or armor pieces by normal in-game farming method. What.. do they live in Bangkorai and don't sleep?!

Dev Comments - Changes Prior to Incorporation into the Notes

@ZOS_GinaBruno

Would it be possible to get a quick Dev Comment thing for each class for one or two of the most discussed changes in Homestead patch notes before you started incorporating them into the published patch notes? Its impossible to reach a consensus on anything on these forums, so identifying which ones in particular merit some Dev Comments is hard, but I've tried to read through the threads and capture a few that stood out to me as being popular requestsL
  1. Templar: Removal of stun from Blazing Spear/No fix for Luminous Shard CC & lack of passives supporting Stamina Templars
  2. Nightblade: Strife cost increase when nightblade dps is overall low, Crescent Sweep performance vs Incap (Incap cost increase)
  3. Sorcerer: No Change to Daedric Prey, No CP boosting of pets, pets stealing group buffs
  4. Dragonknight: Only one I could find mentioned a lot was Burning Ember Inferno aoe, but didn't see a consensus and Wrobel and Rich mentioned in ESO Live they didn't look at aoe damage this update. So maybe the nerf to Standard?

There are a million things people would probably like to see some feedback about, but I was hoping by limiting it to stuff kind of touched in this patch, we'd be more likely to get a response.

Thanks!

ZOS PLEASE fix your 15min penalty for already queuing

So this has happpened multiple days now and it is destroying my enjoyment of the game. I queue as a tank. The first time the group bugged everyone left. I wait the 15minutes now they have already booted 1 tank and are at the boss and you dont port me there so naturally these clowns boot me as well. So before I have even cast a spell I am locked out of the game. Surely you could implement this better. For example there should be no penalty in the first 5 minutes.

Why are the Alik'r Desert Dolmen so popular?

These seem to be more popular than any other dolmen in any of the other lands I've been in. Also, the two I've found so far are the first time I know for a fact I've seen bots. The last one I did had about a half dozen dead players and one guy just shooting off his flame staff every second even though nothing was happening (figured that was the bot). I've been to others where it was either just me doing them or me and one or two other people. I really don't understand it. Is there some special piece of equipment that's supposed to drop there that I don't know about?

[Spoileralert]The toughest decision in the game - The Mad God's Bargain

Introducing Inner Fire - Player-Driven Battlegrounds Guild On NA PC

$
0
0
What is Inner Fire?
Inner Fire is a new guild created to host player-made battlegrounds.

What are battlegrounds?
Battlegrounds are organized PvP encounters with even teams, terrain boundaries, unique rules and objectives, and a clear winner and loser. We are currently focusing on 3v3s and 2v2s, but plan to move to fights much larger than that. We have many cool locations already picked out for fights and also have lots of different game modes we have in mind as well.

How do I get an invite?
Anyone is welcome to join the guild, no matter your skill level or CP rank. We plan to host fights in Azura's Star as well as Haderus to experience different types of PvP and allow low CP players to be competitive. For an invite, you can whisper the current (hopefully growing) admins of the guild if you are NA PC. Their @ names are @LeifyEric, @Lyn-Alara, and @KenaPKK. Or you can whisper any other person in the guild as everyone has invite permissions. If you are already full on guild slots, you can join the Discord channel by following this link: https://discord.gg/p2zvzuJ

What are the rules?
When playing casually, following the rules is up to the fighters. However, we have a rough draft of rules we would enforce in tournaments. These rules were designed primarily with 3v3s and CP in mind and represent 3v3s and CP the most.
Rules:
  • No immov pots
  • No poisons
  • No shield breaker
  • No Malubeth (temp ban for bug)
  • No Selene’s (temp ban for bug)
  • Max of one instant damage proc set per build
  • No changing of cp, gear, or skills
  • No destro ult
  • Must start the fight with 0 ult
  • Each player has to play a different class (magicka and stamina variants of the same class do not count as the same class)
  • No resurrecting teammates
  • No siege

What is the goal of the guild?
The goal of Inner Fire is to create an active group of players who want to play ESO in a competitive and even numbered setting with rules that support skill-based play. We hope to be able to host even numbered fights at the smallest and largest scale of ESO. We also hope to provide a place for players to practice and get better as well as host tournaments for prizes. The main goal, however, is to have fun! We have had two events so far that went very well and what I heard the most from people was how fun the fights were.

What if I don't have a team?
Solo players are more than welcome to join the guild as it is very easy to find a teammate or sub into an existing team. Lots of people in the guild love to play with people they have never played with before. There also tends to be lots of duels going on while people wait for their next fight and watching the fights themselves can also be a lot of fun. Bringing your friends to an event is always welcome as well as you do not need to be a member of the guild to participate.

Can I see an example of what an average fight looks like?
Here is a video of a couple fights I recorded at the last event we had so you can kind of get an idea of what a fight looks like.

Class change service and the new Warden class

I start a new character now, because of the riding lessons. I don't play with it just learn riding lessons in the next 4 month I can learn enough riding lessons.
If I do this, can I change to that lvl3 character to the new Warden class?

This is even more important for those who have no free character slot. Or we will get character slot cap raise too?

Edit: -race, +class

What if there was a Neutral faction?

$

What if people were allowed to declare themselves neutral from the Alliance War when entering Cyrodiil (white flag)?

You could still group and play with your friends, but only people in your group could teleport to any resources, keeps, or towns that you control.

Currently there is no way to prevent people in your faction from following you around and leeching your AP, but this might be a start at combating zerg gameplay.

Just a thought. Criticize away as usual!

PSA: Read this before you buy a house on Monday (major bug)

$
0
0
With the second PTS patch (2.7.2), ZOS introduced a bug which broke the lighting inside most of the homes (and possibly all of them as of the latest patch). Basically, none of the lights in the house will emanate light, whether from windows or from candles/fires. They will only glow once you are standing right next to them. This causes the houses to appear pitch black inside. You can see screenhots of the bug in this thread.

Far from light source:
far.png

Close to light source:
close_1.png

They've repeatedly ignored threads on the topic on the PTS forum and made no acknowledgement of the bug in the "known issues" section of the PTS notes.

This leads me to believe they might launch without fixing it.

So, as a warning to those who aren't on the PTS, make sure to preview a furnished house before you buy it (this will show you if the lights are glowing).

Not all homes are affected, and not everyone experienced the bug in the same homes, so make sure to closely preview the one you want!

Best case scenario is they actually fix it for Monday, but in case they don't, you've been warned.

Lots of QQs... aka we want Spear weapons & Spear Skill Line!

Hello everybody, especially you, folks over at ZOS. I know the chance of you seeing this is virtually 1% but still... FOR THE SAKE OF BOTH ME AND MANY OTHERS I HAVE TO ASK!

With the recent announcement of the Morrowind DLC/Expasion/Upgrade, I'd like to bring up the topic of adding SPEARS into the game once again. I don't think I even need to explain why, but i better do it anyway, or at least give you a few reasons.

First of all there are not that many MMOs out there that have well implemented spear combat, (yes i know WoW had spears for years and recently made a class for it with their Survival Hunters but they did horribly), and trust me, many people would love to see some good spear combat. We also have templars who have a fantastic Aedric Spear skill line, which looks absolutely great and would (perhaps) be a good starting point for animation.

Secondly, it fits the lore more than well, not to mention the Imperials would look great with this. Also, we had a spear skill back in TESIII:Morrowind so there you go, another reason to bring that back into a TES game. It would also make the game more unique and (if you will) "adjustable" for certain folks.

Third reason is short and simple: More variation, new flavour, new builds, new possibilities... I mean come on, just imagine! People will love, LOVE you for this. (Read that as if you had Heimskir's voice)

Plus there are many other reasons as well! I mean do I really need to go any further at this point?

Milions like me have asked for it before, but i really think NOW would be the perfect time to start THINKING about it more than ever. (Now don't get me wrong, I'm NOT saying put spears ingame RIGHT NOW, I'm saying think about adding them, have a talk with the development team or something and LET US KNOW whether it is possible or not!)

So what say you ZOS? Will there ever be a Spear Skill line and Spear weapon category in the game?

What say you fellow citizens of Tamriel? Would you like to see this ingame?

Also, almost forgot about this: http://imgur.com/a/ydD50#0

Just look... Look and think about the future. Close your eyes and dream.

That is all! Thanks!
